Russia offers to help Israel Develop Gas fields

For every action, there is a reaction. The Obama regime has been one of the most anti-Israel administrations. The god-king regularly trashes Israel and encourages the hard Left to demonize the nation state. Instead of isolating Israel, the Jewish state does what most nation when threaten do. They take an offer of friendship from whatever quarter they can get it.

Despite hostility with the US and Western Europe over the latter embrace of post modern cultural Marxism, Russia has gotten closer to the state Israel. The mutual dislike of Obama by both Israeli PM Netanyhu and Russian President Vladimir Putin. Frequent visits between the two, increase trade between the 2 nations and a growing distrust of the Neo-Marxist West has driven Israel and Russia closer than ever. Russia even double crossed Hezbollah whom they are allied with in Syria by assisting Israel in killing child murderer Samir Kuntar.

In the latest development of Russian and Israel cooperation, Russia is now offering to assist Israel develop their gas fields in the Mediterranean.

Consider it a form of ‘protection.’ Russia’s President Vladimir Putin has offered to invest in Israel’s natural gas development.

Diplomatic sources told the Middle East Newsline (MENL) on Wednesday, “Putin very much wants to make Russia into the major developer of energy fields in the Mediterranean, and the first target has been Israel.”

A decision last month by Israel’s High Court of Justice nullified a “stability clause” that would have blocked regulatory changes to an offshore gas outline for the next 10 years.

Hezbollah representatives spent months referring in various speeches to the reserve. Lebanon even attempted to recruit help from the United States in 2014 in seizing the reserve from Israel.

Putin, however, has pledged Russian influence to block attacks by Iranian proxies against any Russian-operated field. Efforts by Hezbollah to stop Israel from developing its natural resources beneath the Mediterranean would likely be among the targets of Russian ire.

Several weeks ago, Putin said he plans to meet with Netanyahu in the nearest future, noting that Russia and Israel have “many issues” to discuss.

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told media on Wednesday that such a visit is indeed under consideration. “We will make a relevant statement in a timely manner” Peskov said, according to TASS.

Israeli media reported this week that Netanyahu plans to travel to Moscow later in the month, allegedly on April 21, to meet with Putin.

Many Israelis are off Russian roots and many Russian even Orthodoxy Christians have Jewish roots themselves. In many ways both nations are natural allies a sboth believe in defending Judeo-Christian civilization and are rejecting the Neo-Marxists of West.

As the Obama regime and the European Union try to isolate Israel, they have also increased their military ties with the Russians.

The Pentagon announced on Wednesday that it was refusing to hold “de-confliction” talks with the Russian Defense Ministry to coordinate the two nations’ air-operations over Syria and would make do with just “technical details.” At the same time, de-confliction talks, of the kind the Americans rejected, between the Israel Defense Forces and their Russian counterparts, led by the deputy chiefs of staff of both militaries, were already wrapping up in Tel Aviv’s HaKirya headquarters.
Israel’s willingness to hold these talks reflects of course the recognition that after many years of operating nearly freely in Syrian airspace, things have changed with the arrival of a modern and well-equipped air force. But it also reflects the Russians’ desire not to have any confrontation with Israel in the region.

In the past, Israeli officials used to explain the desire to stay on Putin’s good side, despite his growing animosity towards the West and the erosion of civil rights in Russia, as part of its concern for the safety of hundreds of thousands of Jews still living in Russia. But there doesn’t seem to be any true basis for such fears, at least not under Putin. He is interested in the ties just as much as Israel.
To this day there are various explanations as to how Putin actually feels about Jews. His many supporters among the Jewish community in Russia insist that he is philosemitic, due to the friendships he had with Jewish classmates back in his childhood in St. Petersburg and the influence of Jewish teachers who perceived his potential. Putin’s critics ask why then are the Kremlin-funded propaganda channels filled with Holocaust deniers and anti-Semitic conspiracy theorists, masquerading as respectable commentators? But even those critics agree that Putin has a high regard for Jews and regrets the emigration of many thousands of Jewish scientists and researchers following the disintegration of the Soviet Union.

The Unites States is making a huge geo-strategic and moral mistake by turning it’s back on Israel. Putin always being the opportunist sees the potential of an a pro-Russian Israel as a means to extend his power into the Mediterranean.  Nations do not have permanent friends, but permanent interests. Russia wants to dominate the eastern Mediterranean, Israel wants to survive as  a nation. Both nation’s interest are coinciding and the growing ties are a result.

Russia vetoes Srebrenica resolution

Russia vetoed a UN resolution to recognize the Serb victory at Srebrenica over Bosnian Muslims, al-Qaeda and Hezbollah as “genocide.”

Russia vetoed a draft UN resolution Wednesday that would have recognized the Srebrenica massacre as genocide, saying it unfairly singled out Bosnian Serbs for war crimes.

Britain had put forward the text to mark the 20th anniversary of the massacre of 8,000 Muslim boys and men by Bosnian Serb forces in July 1995, Europe’s worst atrocity since World War II.

Angola, China, Nigeria and Venezuela abstained from the vote at the 15-member Security Council while 10 other countries voted in favour of the text that also condemned genocide denial.

The Russian veto was welcomed by Serbia’s president, who said it was “a great day for Serbia,” but the head of the Mothers of Srebrenica group accused Moscow of “supporting criminals, those who killed our children.”

Good on Russia for blocking this pro-Islamic crap. It’s funny that many Americans who claim to be such holy Christians despise the one nation on the planet that stands up for Christians.

Political Cartoons by Gary Varvel

Two of my pet peeves in life have long been the substitution of cliche for coherent statement and snark for debate. These things represent the scoundrel’s way out of a losing hand. They’re deflections, illusions, misdirections, or more to the point, simply dishonesties, all dressed up and placed into the arena meant for ideas, as if they really belonged there. The perfect example of snark being substituted for debate would be President Obama’s statement to Mitt Romney that the 1980’s had called and asked for their foreign policy back when discussing the topic of continued Russian aggression during the 2012 Presidential Debates.

History of course has proven once again that Mitt Romney was correct in his assertion, as he was with just about everything else that came up during that campaign. History has showed also that Barack Obama was wrong, and disastrously so, just like he was on almost every statement that he made during that campaign. Now, you may be asking yourself, “what difference, at this point does it make who was right and who was wrong.” I could give you a snarky answer, but that just wouldn’t fit well within the context of what I’ve written so far. Instead, I’d like to show you what difference at this point it makes.

From the Hot Air article linked to above:

According to a report from the Washington Free Beacon’s Bill Gertz, U.S. defense officials are warning that Russian strategic nuclear bombers have conducted no less than 16 incursions into American airspace in just a 10-day period. Gertz characterizes this uptick in the number of times American airspace has been penetrated by Russian air assets as an “unusually sharp increase.”

“The numerous flight encounters by Tu-95 Russian Bear H bombers prompted the scrambling of U.S. jet fighters on several occasions, and come amid heightened U.S.-Russia tensions over Ukraine,” the report read.

Barack Obama’s statement that there is no cold war, or that the Russians are nothing to worry about given the suddenly increased sinister tone taken by her KGB raised leader will be of little comfort to the American Citizens living in Alaska watching Russian Long range bombers flying over head en route to points further East, meaning Canada and the contiguous 48. Be assured America, the Bamster is defending us against the really terrible enemies of the American people, Global Warming and the Tea Party. And while that may have been my own example of snark, rest assured it is rooted in a terribly important train of thought. Namely, that in serious times, we need for our leaders to be serious people, a luxury Americans have not enjoyed since January of 2009. While that may actually be our fault, having voted twice for this current group of crisis pimps, we are, thanks to our Constitutional form of governance still capable of addressing this mistake via future elections.

Maybe this was part of the understanding Vladimir Putin took from Obama’s private message via Medvedev, that after the Narcissist in Chief faced his last election, he would have greater flexibility to look the other way when ever Vladimir felt emboldened to test our borders and resolve through increasing levels of provocative action. the only sense in which we are not engaged in a new Cold War is that it takes two sides to be engaged in such. So far, we have not only failed to respond to Russia’s aggressive behavior, but have signaled that we clearly have zero intentions of changing that.

Evil loves a vacuum, and creating those seems thus far to be the only thing Barack Obama has proven himself to be even remotely competent. For those of you who are still in the Vladimir is not evil fan club, let me just add a couple of things. Vladimir is not the entirety of the Russian People. I know a lot of Russians, most of whom are staunch free marketeers and politically conservative. They hate Socialism and remember its ravages well. Vladimir knows how to seize power without the support of the citizenry over which he rules, and lives his life free of the baggage that poor world opinion carries. The other thing to consider is the organization that raised Vladimir, and created him. More on that will be explained in the video below, from Bill Whittle’s new site, TruthRevolt.org.

Vladimir is playing, “Thermo Global Nuclear War,” to borrow the reference from that liberal preach fest of a movie entitled, “War Games,” and our President is playing Checkers. When a sitting President sends a message back to Vladimir via a foreign dignitary, that Vladimir should quiet things down to help him get reelected, it is quite possible that Vladimir may have read that to mean that said President was nothing more than a self absorbed pompous narcissist with nothing deeper on his mind than his own vanity. Such is the measure of our current leader, and Russia’s current leader is taking full advantage of that.

The consequence to all of this is that our air space is now being used as a military training ground for the Russian Air Force. Fear not though, I hear that our own military is trolling the Arctic trying to find evidence that Global Warming is real. This despite the recent set back, a revelation that the NOAA, who controlled the actual temperature data and won’t let anyone else see the raw numbers, faked at least half of their measurements in order to show us all how real it actually is. When those peace loving Russians decide to accidentally drop the bombs held in the bellies of those bombers flying over our nation, our armed forces will be too busy protecting us from thermometer readings and free speech advocates to do a gosh darned thing about it. So, I hope Vladimir wishes to go no further than his latest examples of provocation. History however has zero actual examples of such characters declaring, I’ve gone far enough. Maybe Putin will be the first. That after all is our only hope until at least January of 2017.
