eagles – to reply to your question in the other thread about Cohen’s plea deal. Listening to Lanny Davis, who apparently knows nothing about campaign finance regulations, I’m not even sure that Cohen even plead to those counts, he just mentioned that Cohen said he had done these things on behalf of Trump. Bradley Smith, former chairman of the FEC has said that the circumstances described by both Cohen and Trump are NOT violations of campaign finance law as there is no limit to what an individual can do with his own money to help a campaign (another fact Davis got wrong).

This is simply attempts by Democrats and the MSM to muddy the waters going into the election in November. Even if Trump paid that blackmailing bitch and had her sign an NDA, it’s NOT a violation of campaign finance law. Candidates are always cleaning up messes when they run – I imagine the Clinton used plenty of threats, promises and money to clean up their garbage prior to Billy Boy announcing in 1992. And look what they did to Gennifer Flowers when she wouldn’t play along.

Meanwhile Lanny Davis and Michael Cohen are trying to influence an election with the use of innuendo. Now Davis is claiming Cohen is going to go to Mueller and “spill his guts” about Russian collusion, which he says he has all the goods on. I’ll bet my next paycheck he has nothing, and that Mueller is going to find out that he has nothing, but Cohen will not be forced to reveal his proof prior to November.

Meanwhile, I’d love to see Devin Nunes and the House Intelligence Committee haul this lying sack of s^^t and his shyster lawyer in front of the Committee and have him tell them what he knows.

    China and tariffs

One of my suppliers sent this email.

China Tariffs: Section 301 Import Tariffs Update
On July 6, as mandated by the U.S. Trade Representative under Section 301, a 25% tariff was imposed on a subset of electronic components manufactured in China and imported into the United States. Sager Electronics made the decision to delay billing customers for these new tariffs until the details were complete and the impact could be better understood – since July 6, Sager has absorbed all Section 301-related tariffs incurred.

The complexity of the situation is overwhelming and changing on a daily basis. Suppliers are struggling with a fair and equitable method to assess the tariffs without disclosing proprietary pricing formulas. Most suppliers have opted to mitigate the effect of the tariff by charging Sager with a separate line item on the invoice based on our current purchase price, not the supplier’s import cost. Those charges have ranged from no current charge up to 25% on our purchase price. Other suppliers have elected to assess the tariff by increasing the Sager purchase price. And we have suppliers who have neither identified the components impacted nor how they will pass through the tariff.

SAGER WILL CONTINUE TO DELAY BILLING SECTION 301 TARIFFS UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
Due to these continuing uncertainties – until further notice, Sager will continue to delay the billing of Section 301 tariff charges to our customers. Sager will pay assessed tariffs due on products imported from China during this period and, in doing so, will shield our customers from incurring or paying tariffs on shipments until an implementation date is determined.

The parts subject to the Section 301 tariffs account for approximately 10% of the components that we sell. Given that part of Sager’s value proposition is having inventory in stock to support your business, we typically have several months of estimated usage on hand. This means some of our current inventory of Section 301 impacted parts was purchased before the tariffs were assessed, which helps us delay billing for the Section 301 tariffs for the time being.

SECTION 301 TARIFFS FOR CUSTOMERS IN MEXICO AND CANADA
Another important note, Sager will not charge tariffs on products delivered outside of the United States. Duty payment is ultimately only required for products intended for domestic consumption therefore any duty paid by Sager for product delivered to Mexico or Canada will be processed for duty drawback allowed under Section 301. This is a Sager Electronics process and will be invisible to our Mexico and Canada customers. For parts that suppliers have chosen to increase the piece part price we will have no choice but to pass these increases along in the purchase price.

    BILLING PROCESS UPON IMPLEMENTATION
Once a date is determined, our plan is to create a separate line item for the tariff charge as opposed to raising prices at the part number level. The exception will be for parts that suppliers have chosen to increase the piece part price, in which case we will have no choice but to pass these increases along in the purchase price. We believe separating the tariff will reduce the supply chain impact and have the least disruptive effect from accounting and business process perspectives. The exact format of the tariff invoice is still under design, but it is our goal to be able to provide sufficient detail in the invoice to satisfy the requirements of our broad spectrum of customers.

Our primary objective is to minimize supply chain disruption and to support your requirements at the highest levels. We hope that our decision to delay billing of the Section 301 tariffs will give our customers more time to prepare, and give all of us, including our suppliers, more time to fully understand the details.

You can find updates on the Sager Electronics website under China Tariffs: Section 301 Import Tariffs or paste this link in your browser:

So the Keebler Elf serving as Attorney General huffs to Trump that the “office will not be subject to political infludence”

Oh, really? You spinelessly recused yourself because the Democrats demanded it and allowed a partisan dirtbag Rosenweasel to appoint an even more partisan dirtbag named Mueller to launch a Special Counsel investigation of an un-specified crime that has plagued the otherwise very successful Presidency of the man who honored you with your effing appointment in the first place.

Meanwhile, evidence is piling up of surveillance, real collusion and conspiracy on the part of the previous administration, and all you can think to do is remind the American people that MS-13 are some really bad hombres.

I hope Trump cans your ass the day after the midterm elections.

Australia has a new Prime Minister. Scott Morrison. He defeated the conservative Peter Dutton 45 to 40 votes inside caucus. Former Prime Minister Turnbull has said that he intends to retire from politics which means that a by-election will be held for his Sydney seat. With a single seat majority in the current parliament this threatens the government one seat majority. There is little chance however that the Liberal National coalition government will lose this strong liberal seat in one of the most wealthy electorates in Australia.

Peter Dutton the conservative pretended to the Prime Minister’s position just failed to reach the 43 votes necessary to have carried him to the Prime Minister’s position. The consensus was that the neo-liberal centre left faction within the liberal party wanted one more chance to hold onto power with required Federal elections required before may 2019, it now behoves Morrison to stabilise the government before having to fight an election against the centre left / socialist Labor Party in May.

Peter Dutton was a ‘stand in’ contender for the Prime Minister’s position as former Prime Minister Tony Abbott is seen by many both generally but also within conservative circles as having failed to live up to his rhetoric and failed to initiate those right wing policies that would have addressed problems that are currently besetting Australia.

    Problems like:-
a)Failure to be strong and resist leftist rhetoric pushing climate change and leaving Australia in the Paris accord. This resulted in his being overthrown by the liberal left faction of the Liberal Party (think RINOs) and the collapse of Australia’s energy policy and the massive blow out in energy costs and failures in several states of power supply, threatening industry and pushing up consumers’ energy costs.
    b) Not opposing the rapid drive into radical Politically Correct positions by many government and private institutions.
    c) Lukewarm attitudes to mitigating immigration threats including the growth of Islamist radicalism in Australia that were pushed by Labour and left factions inside the Liberal Party.

The Liberal National Party’s caucus appears to have decided that, rather than handing the Prime Ministership to the conservative (right faction) within the Liberal party, and addressing the problems listed above, instead they will stick to the liberal left faction of the Liberal Party for a little longer and try more incrementalism in the hope of holding onto the one seat majority in the May 2019 Federal election. The hope is that the Labor opposition will be so reviled by the Australian people and so mistrusted and considered incompetent that the electorate will choose the ‘least bad’ party.

The conservative right faction within the Liberal Party with their National coalition partners failed to bite the bullet and choose Tony Abbott as their Prime Minister candidate because they were afraid of the massive MSM power that demonised Abbott during his last term as Prime Minister and allowed weak willed members of the Liberal left faction to fire Abbott and elect the flawed narcissistic Turnbull. Abbott has learned his hard lesson of trying to do seals with the left, and would now unequivibacually support the policies of the centre right. It may be too little too late for Tony Abbott and in the current conservative exemplar Peter Dutton we have a mere ‘Abbott lite’ candidate.

My forecast is that the new Scott Morrison Liberal / National Parties coalition will succeed in holding the empty Turnbull of Wentworth and survive as a lame duck government until May 2019. It will marginally lose the general election to Labor and remain on a centre left trajectory generally until the 2022 Federal election when the conservatives will roar back with a vengeance with either Abbott or another serious conservative at the helm.

In the meantime expect Australia to continue its drift to the left with more PC nonsense, increasing Islamic terror criminal activity and serious energy problems aplenty.

Meanwhile, you have Jim Brown – one of the greatest players of all time, who was paid pittance compared to the whiney entitled brats today – who had a limited but successful acting career post NFL and who has worked tirelessly in the impoverished communities in L.A. and genuinely working to assist at-risk youth.

He has already endorsed Trump for 2020. Says it won’t make him popular but he doesn’t care. Meanwhile, the Richard Shermans and Marshawn Lynchs of the NFL aren’t even aware enough to see understand how embarrassed they should be by their actions.

Oh, and I’ll be saying this daily until it happens.

    FIRE SESSIONS.

    FIRE SESSIONS.

I can honestly say that I never liked him, first of all, the man was a senator, i.e. a Swamp creature through and through. Secondly, he was a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee. So Deep State at its worst. I suspect that Trump’s choosing of Sessions for AG was something negotiated with Trump by people Trump did not recognize yet as Deep State bad actors. There seems to be little doubt these days that Trump now knows that Sessions was a very bad choice.

  15. 15 | August 24, 2018 11:07 am

    @ doriangrey:

The only downside of Trump not being of the “political class” is that he had no real idea how these creatures worked. He was used to dealing with people on a “plain speaking” basis. To him, Sessions was a good guy who endorsed him and so he rewarded him with a post worthy of his being a Senator.

He had no idea that Sessions would immediately and spinelessly recuse himself and abdicate to the Rosenweasel, playing right into the latter’s hands. It would not surprise me that Rosenweasel and Comey plotted the whole “write a memo recommending I be fired and when Trump does, we’ll get that Special Counsel we want.”

It amazes me that Trump has been able to accomplish all he has despite the distractions. And when you total up the list, it’s a helluva lot in 18 months.

Now they’ve “granted immunity” to Allen Weissenberg, Trump Organization CEO, to have him testify before the Grand Jury. Makes a nice headline, but if they’re listening to Michael Cohen, my spitballin’ speculation is that it’s going to come up a big zero. This is to influence the elections.

you got it backwards. Weissenberg was granted immunity for ratting out Cohen. My guess is this is being coordinated with Eric Schneiderman’s successor, some dyke wannabe. There is a woman running for the AG office whose name I’ve forgotten, but her platform is that she’s going to bring down Trump by going after his business practices in NY. She admits she doesn’t know what they were, but there HAS to be SOMETHING. This is a pincer movement

You know, you’re absolutely right. Supposedly, yes, this is to go after Cohen. But you just know they’re hoping to ensnare Trump somehow. This is why that whole “campaign finance crime” is such horse manure to begin with. Oh and that wanna-be New York AG is as dumb as they come.

I’m thinking what they REALLY want are the tax returns. Which would be somehow mysteriously LEAKED to the Democrats.

The fact that his wife is going to probably be appointed in his place instead of real conservative like Kelli Ward makes me angry. This is the effing U.S. Senate – the the “let’s give Cindy something to do now that she’s a widow” program. First thing she’ll probably do is switch parties to the Democrats.

I don’t think she wants it.

I’m thinking what they REALLY want are the tax returns.

There’s a new book out that was reviewed in Sunday’s WaPo. I forget the name but the last name of the author is ‘Unger’. It apparently tries to make the case that Trump knowingly helped Russian thugs launder money buy allowing them to buy condos in his buildings. And then reported the transactions back to Putin. As far as I could tell from the book review, the book is basically “well, Trump MUST HAVE KNOWN”.

Here’s the problem. Trump doesn’t actually own those things. He owns the BRAND. After he builds the buildings and puts his name on them, he’s done. Remember when – I think it was Chicago – they removed the Trump name from a building? They could do that because he doesn’t own the building. He only owns the name on it.

There are exceptions, of course. He probably does own Trump Towers in NYC etc., but for the most part, no.

Well, anyway, I read that book review, and remembering the piece I’d read about the woman who wants to be AG, I connected a few dots and decided that there is some battle space prep going on, the theater will be NY. STATE level, not Federal. Whoever wrote that book didn’t do it on his own, and that woman running for AG is originally out of Vermont.

I’m not sure what the implications of state vs federal are.

Here it is: House of Trump, House of Putin: The Untold Story of Donald Trump and the Russian Mafia

    by Craig Unger

It is a chilling story that begins in the 1970s, when Trump made his first splash in the booming, money-drenched world of New York real estate, and ends with Trump’s inauguration as president of the United States. That moment was the culmination of Vladimir Putin’s long mission to undermine Western democracy, a mission that he and his hand-selected group of oligarchs and Mafia kingpins had ensnared Trump in, starting more than twenty years ago with the massive bailout of a string of sensational Trump hotel and casino failures in Atlantic City. This book confirms the most incredible American paranoias about Russian malevolence.

To most, it will be a hair-raising revelation that the Cold War did not end in 1991—that it merely evolved, with Trump’s apartments offering the perfect vehicle for billions of dollars to leave the collapsing Soviet Union. In House of Trump, House of Putin, Craig Unger methodically traces the deep-rooted alliance between the highest echelons of American political operatives and the biggest players in the frightening underworld of the Russian Mafia. He traces Donald Trump’s sordid ascent from foundering real estate tycoon to leader of the free world. He traces Russia’s phoenixlike rise from the ashes of the post–Cold War Soviet Union as well as its ceaseless covert efforts to retaliate against the West and reclaim its status as a global superpower.

Without Trump, Russia would have lacked a key component in its attempts to return to imperial greatness. Without Russia, Trump would not be president. This essential book is crucial to understanding the real powers at play in the shadows of today’s world.

John Brennan: Trump Presidency Is ‘Third Greatest Crisis’ In American History, After Revolutionary And Civil War

Former CIA Director John Brennan on Friday escalated his war of words with President Trump — agreeing with HBO host Bill Maher than Trump’s presidency “is the third great crisis in American history” behind the Revolutionary War and Civil War.

“I think we are in a crisis that is the third great crisis in American history,” Maher said on “Real Time,” saying that he felt it was more of a crisis than the Depression but behind the Revolutionary War and Civil War. “Would you rank the crisis we’re in now that way?”

“I would,” Brennan said. “And I think it’s going to get worse before it gets better, because don’t forget: Donald Trump has the authority of the president of the United States in his hands, in terms of what he can do domestically here and as well as what he can do internationally to try to distract attention, whether or not he’s going to try to pursue some type of foreign adventure, military or otherwise.”

Articles that I have read today give large credit to the Trump tax cuts.

I wish these idiots would actually tell us what it is that Trump is doing that is so bad. Record stock prices? Corporations bringing money back into the US after the corporate tax cuts? People having more money in their wallets after the tax cut? Economy on the way back up? North Korea [sort of] backing down?

What, exactly, is it that Trump is doing that is so devastating and such an existential crisis? These people have the vapors just because their globalist marxist didn’t win the presidency.

Yeah, did you hear about that Fox poll showing more people approved of Obamacare than the Trump tax cuts? You believe that? Me neither.

The tax cuts should get a lot of credit, but not enough people are paying attention to the regulations Trump has canned. Of course, that would require they do research or something.

    @ yenta-fada:

    Along the same lines:

Corporate Gun Control Might Be the Worst Threat to Gun Rights

Let’s be honest. If you own guns or you’re a gun-rights supporter, and if you’re concerned about government restrictions on your Second Amendment rights, the future looks bright. The elevation of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court may well represent the death knell for draconian forms of gun control — including bans on so-called “assault weapons” and bans on standard-capacity magazines in semi-automatic pistols and rifles.

Moreover, meaningful federal gun control has been blocked for a generation, and red-state legislatures are moving almost uniformly to liberalize state gun laws. Witness, for example, the steady spread of “constitutional carry” in red states across the land.

But another threat looms, one that can stretch across the entire American landscape, is immune to the filibuster, and is largely sheltered from judicial review. It’s a threat that can choke off financing for the gun industry, stifle speech about guns, and lock the gun-rights community into offline (and small online) ghettos that restrict their ability to communicate.

So, what’s happening? Titans of American banking and communication are taking steps to restrict the use of their funds or platforms by gun makers, gun-rights advocates, and others. The threat is just now emerging, but it may be as great a danger to gun rights as it is to the culture of free speech in this nation, and indeed the two are linked.

The deep state is above the law. Hillary, Clintons, global Elite, EU, etc. Armstrong has a good piece on it. The corruption of Federal judges is a large part of the problem. Most people can’t afford to sue the governments of the first world. They cannot even afford good lawyers, never mind the years it takes to get through ‘the process is the punishment’ delays while your bills mount up.

How does an islamocommie become head of the See Aye Ay? What are the chances he will ever face consequences? The International Ruling Class answers only to itself. THAT is the Law. A 7 year old trying to sell lemonade meets with more blowback than the Uranium One scheme.

If you follow some blogs there are literally more people getting away with murder in Chicago than there are innocents hit with heavy fines for growing vegetables in your own garden in some municipalities. Only the peasants have to live under the law. imho, of course.

John McCain, Arizona Senator, Dies at 81

When asked how he wanted to be remembered, McCain had said: “That I made a major contribution to the defense of the nation.”

John McCain, the six-term Arizona senator and 2008 Republican presidential nominee, died on Aug. 25 at his Arizona ranch with his family after a battle with brain cancer. He was 81.

McCain had recently decided to discontinue medical treatment. Though McCain had “surpassed expectations for survival,” the family said in an Aug. 24 statement about the decision that “the progress of disease and the inexorable advance of age render their verdict.”

The senator had been away from the Capitol since December. Republican Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey is expected to name a replacement who would serve out the remainder of McCain’s term through the 2020 election.

Federal government has taken a very broad view of that clause, particularly after Wickard vs. Filburn. It would be perfectly in line with current view of that law for the federal government to pass a law or institute regulations making it illegal for companies engaged in interstate or foreign commerce to restrict commerce based upon political viewpoint or restricting the sale and transaction in goods that are legal for sale.

The Wheat case. Supreme Court ruled that a farmer in Kansas raising wheat for his own chickens was engaged in interstate commerce because, by using his own wheat, he was not buying wheat from someone who might be out of state. Therefore, he was subject to the FDR wheat allotment rules and in violation of those rules by raising wheat without an allotment from the government. That was the wedge used by statists to claim that pretty much any transaction or even lack thereof is participating in interstate commerce and therefore can be regulated by the federal government.
