Pelosi, The Mob, and the Wall
I got yinz’s Polar Vortex RIGHT HERE! Yinz Warmists.

Ave Maria Reconquista By AJ Fernandez:
The Ave Maria blend is the one that started it all. Medium to full-bodied, this is a complex, balanced gem that keeps you interested with waves of flavor throughout the entire stick. With Immaculata, Ave gained a subtle blend, that’s smooth and tasty with notes of cream and cedar. And for the fans of full-bodied sticks, check out Reconquista for a rich, chewy flavor of Cuban-seed tobacco. Reconquista is truly a one of a kind experience.
Don Julio Repasado finished in The Buchanan’s Scotch Whiskey barrels: Don Julio Reposado Double Cask is finished in casks used in the making of Buchanan’s® blended scotch whisky, resulting in a remarkable depth of flavor with honeyed notes of agave and undertones of tropical fruits and spices, top-noted with light peat & hints of chocolate malt.

Trump announced today that he’s donating his first-quarter salary to Alcoholism research. I seem to recall that he even offered to use his private plane while in office to save the taxpayers money in Presidential travel, but of course, could not do so because of the features and security available on AF-1.
Meanwhile, Pelosi travels like a queen on the taxpayer dime, flying friends and family across the Globe, with top-shelf liquor, and donates her salary to nothing, even though her hubby is worth $100MM minimum and could afford her a lavish lifestyle in D.C.

I’ve seen her home in San Francisco. Broadway Heights, like Feinstein and the rest of the politicians who care so much about “the people” they have 6 foot fences, electric gates and private security patrols to keep them at bay.
I heard a story from a retired San Francisco cop that when she was Mayor, Feinstein was shagging the Chief of Police and that SFPD had a perimeter around the house to alert her if Blumie showed up unannounced. I have no reason to doubt the man’s story.

In fact, not only will there soon be a new term for “Climate Change” but a whole slew of new terminology as a PR effort to sell the public on the same old agenda with pretty new words according to the January 27 Politico Magazine in an article by Bryan Bender: “The New Language of Climate Change.”
The subtitle informs us that the public will become like test animals to determine how well the marketing strategy works: “Scientists and meteorologists on the front lines of the climate wars are testing a new strategy to get through to the skeptics and outright deniers.”

oh dear. the techies are having a knock-down, drag-out. Apple just knifed Facebook developers
It has been a tumultuous day for Facebook and its investors after Apple revoked the company’s iOS enterprise developer certificates due to damning revelations about Facebook bribing teens into supplying the company with reams of personal data, which it is believed to have used to improve its ad microtargeting and keep tabs on its rivals. This news, and the slight hit to FB stock that followed, was soon followed by a solid earnings report, which sent FB shares higher in after-hours trading.
A person familiar with the situation tells The Verge that early versions of Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, and other pre-release “dogfood” (beta) apps have stopped working, as have other employee apps, like one for transportation. Facebook is treating this as a critical problem internally, we’re told, as the affected apps simply don’t launch on employees’ phones anymore.

ahahahahahaha!! I hope the judge throws him out on his ass. Concord, you may recall, is the company Mueller charged, believing that since it’s Russian it would never show up in court. Well, they did. Hilarity ensued. Now Mueller is whining that Russian twitter bots are ruining everything, MAKE IT STOP!!
A pro-Russia Twitter account somehow gained access to nonpublic evidence gathered by special counsel Robert Mueller and tweeted out altered versions of those files as part of a “disinformation campaign,” Mueller asserted Wednesday.
The allegation was made by Mueller’s team in a new court filing Wednesday in the case against Concord Management and Consulting, a Russian company owned by Yevgeny Prigozhin, a billionaire friend of Russian President Vladimir Putin. Concord Management helped finance a known Russian troll farm, Internet Research Agency.
According to Mueller, “certain non-sensitive” evidence given by federal prosecutors to the defense team was “altered” and posted online “as part of a disinformation campaign aimed (apparently) at discrediting ongoing investigations into Russian interference in the U.S. political system.” Mueller didn’t describe how the information was altered.
To me this smells like Mueller is trying to avoid giving the defense exculpatory evidence – which Weismann is famous for.
The judge should throw their asses in the hoosegow for contempt, bread and water, no sunlight, and let them come crawling back after a month.

Private sector employment increased by 213,000 jobs in January, according to the ADP National Employment report , surpassing Wall Street’s expectations of 178,000 jobs, despite a 35-day partial government shutdown that experts believed could take a toll on small business.
“The job market weathered the government shutdown well,” Mark Zandi, the chief economist of Moody’s, said. “Despite the severe disruptions, businesses continued to add aggressively to their payrolls. As long as businesses hire strongly the economic expansion will continue on.”
In December, the private sector added a whopping 271,000 jobs — soaring past analysts’ expectations of 178,000. Manufacturing, meanwhile, added the most jobs in more than four years.

a core heater takes a few hours to really start working.
an oil dip stick heater heats the oil and that is what is most important. this takes less time but does not heat the block.
the oil has to be not so viscous that it does not get up into the motor when it starts.
oil temp is key. if the oil is running ok off of the dipstick, then start your car.
@ Canoe Convoy:
@ coldwarrior:
for my old reliable (1988 mercedes 300 turbo diesel wagon…i miss that car) i had to use a core heater and a dipstick oil heater and a blanket over the motor to get it to start when it was below 0F. the fuel would gel if i didnt put in any additive or put a heater near the tank.
gas cars usually dont have a fuel gel problem, its an oil viscosity problem. gas doenst get weird until -40C
Chris Christie has a new book out. He guts Kasich and it is God’s own wrath
Kasich called Christie after his New Hampshire wipeout.
He asked how I was doing. I told him, okay, considering. “You know what happened to you, don’t you, Chris?” he said.
I told him I didn’t.
“God wanted you to play right field, and you insisted on playing shortstop. No matter how many times God told you to play right field, you insisted on playing shortstop. And last night, you went out to shortstop, and the ball went through your legs.”
Right there, I understood why so many people in politics despised John Kasich. . . .
“And John,” I asked, “what does God have in mind for you?”
He didn’t hesitate. “I think you’re going to see that very clearly over the next couple of months.”

@ Aussie Infidel:
I didn’t see that recipe but here’s mine
3 1/2 cups bread flour
1 and 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoons yeast
14 oz water, cool
pour the water in a cool glass bowl, dump in yeast & salt, add water and mix a bit. Add flour, stir (the handle of a plastic spoon works well) till everything is well mixed. Cover with plastic wrap, let rise till doubled, about 8 hrs. Punch down the dough, roll it up with that plastic spoon handle, slide into a bread pan, cover with cloth, let rise about 30 minutes
Then 400 degree oven for 40 minutes.
here
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i3jt14GSi0g
The measurements he uses in this video are a bit different than the ones I used from his book, but it doesn’t seem to make much difference. If you want a faster schedule, you increase the amount of yeast and alter the water amount.
This is just plain white bread, altho I added lots of herbs to my last loaf (thyme, marjoram, rosemary)
no kneading, no nuthin’

if the plane went down around 4:30 pm on Jan 31, there would be only about 2 hrs of daylight left, max. To say recovery was ‘at night’ may be misleading. At 7 pm it’s dark but there are still people around conducting business. 10 at night, it’s a different story.
