It’s Monday…we need a thread.

What…you want a topic, too?

Comments

Comments and respectful debate are both welcome and encouraged.

Comments are the sole opinion of the comment writer, just as each thread posted is the sole opinion or post idea of the administrator that posted it or of the readers that have written guest posts for the Blogmocracy.

Obscene, abusive, or annoying remarks may be deleted or moved to spam for admin review, but the fact that particular comments remain on the site in no way constitutes an endorsement of their content by any other commenter or the admins of this Blogmocracy.

We're not easily offended and don't want people to think they have to walk on eggshells around here (like at another place that shall remain nameless) but of course, there is a limit to everything.

Play nice!

Some days I hate my country and my fellow citizens. Smith and Wesson named in 150 million dollar civil action. :/

    https://www.dailywire.com/news/amid-rising-opposition-to-impeachment-new-democrat-strategy-emerges-withhold-impeachment-articles

a growing number of Democrats and their supporters on the left have begun to seriously push a new strategy: vote on the two articles of impeachment against the president in the House but then refuse to send the articles to the Senate, where they’re destined to die a quick death.

It’s Canada. With Canadian judges and Canadian lawmakers. Doesn’t matter if such tech doesn’t exist. All that matters is the hypotheticals in the arguments.

Of course, California is the same way. They fine oil companies for not using some additive in gasoline that nobody manufactures.

Supreme Court has actually dealt a blow to the idiots in Congress claiming “obstruction of Congress” – they’ve agreed to hear the President’s appeal on the issuance of the impeachment subpoenas. Which would indicate his challenge is valid.

And Judge Sullivan is a disappointment. He’s refused Sidney Powell’s request for a Brady hearing. Sentencing for Flynn is scheduled for next week. I wonder if Sullivan is just trying to get this off his plate and once Flynn is adjudged and sentenced, the appellate process can begin. It’s the Fourth Circuit, which was been “liberal” of late, but I don’t know how many judge’s Trump has appointed to the circuit. He’s already had an impact on the 9th and 2nd Circuits.

I skimmed thru some of the opinion. He seems to think since she can’t prove it would change the verdict, she can’t have it.

How can she prove it if she can’t even see it? I was stunned.

there also seems to be a plagiarism issue that I don’t have time to track down. Sullivan gave the page #s but I’m busy

  11. 11 | December 17, 2019 1:27 pm

    @ eaglesoars:

I find it a little astounding re Judge Sullivan. This is the same judge that lacerated the prosecution team in the Paul Stevens case for their prosecutorial malfeasance. And yet he somehow doesn’t see the similarities in the Flynn matter. Flynn was literally browbeaten into submission.

My only hope is that after this, the Fourth Circuit takes this up and vindicates Flynn. If not, then SCOTUS. They have a history of kicking Weissman’s convictions to the curb.

  20. 23 | December 17, 2019 4:58 pm

    @ eaglesoars:

We are of the same mind on that one. You DON’T EVER lie to the Court for a warrant, for a subpoena, for ANYTHING. You get sanctioned, you get jailed for perjury. Of course, Durham has to power to charge these Justice lowlifes with the crimes. Wonder if they’ve contacted him to inquire.

REading thru the FISC order again there is something quite interesting in there.

Pg 3 para 2 – On Dec 5 the court ordered the FBI to provide (unspecified) info to the court about FISAs supplied apparently with info from Clinesmith. That hasn’t been known before, that the court called the FBI on the carpet.

Pg 4, last para – The FBI is to declassify by Dec 20 all the info about the Dec 5 stuff BECAUSE THE COURT IS GOING TO GO PUBLIC WITH IT. And don’t try to redact anything either, because the OIG report already spilled it, so there.

That’s pretty big stuff. The FISC is actually going to spill it all.

Neil Gorsuch Said ‘Merry Christmas’ On Fox And People Are Going Crazy

    Amee Vanderpool @girlsreallyrule

Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch just appeared on Fox and Friends this morning, making a point to parrot the “Merry Christmas” talking point of the GOP. If he’s willing to go on Fox and throw a shout out to Republican narratives, what else is he willing to do?

“Merry Christmas” is a “Republican narrative”?
