The first time I heard ‘Nantucket Sleighride’ I remember commenting to a friend that leslies guitar conjured up the image in my head of a trashing whale out at sea, a dark sad image. I had no clue what a ‘Nantucket Sleighride was back then, we didn’t have Google. Sometime later I looked it up at the local library
and was both pleasantly surprised and amazed – this dude had me seeing and hearing this whale with his guitar !
The one question I never got an answer to was what came first ? A need for the sound of a whale to fit the songs lyrics or was it that he played the licks and someone told him that it sounded like a thrashing po’d whale so they built the song around it ?
I mean whale hunting off Nantucket isn’t exactly a typical R/R theme, ya know ? If it was the former, the higher the genius. In either case a great tune.

Mrs coldwarrior and the girls are well asleep. I wrapped their presents and had a few beverages and a nice cigar.

I spoke with a man who lives here and says he heard what sounded like a shootout — multiple gun shots — he barricaded his door and police later evacuated the complex. Then he heard an explosion.

It’s an introductory msg. So law enforcement will pay attention to them the NEXT time they call – using a code they probably gave the cops during the phone call – and the next time they call, they will have demands.

I’m guessing that LE figured out they couldn’t get a warrant so went dirty. When I was at USA Today, I got called into my boss’s office to meet 2 very nice FBI agents investigating the Atlanta Olympic bombings and was told to help them out. But FIRST I was shown legal docs that said they had the right to see any of the data they would be asking for.

Just over a year ago, shortly after the impeachment inquiry ended in December of 2019, the Tennessee Star (among others) reported that Adam Schiff “managed to get AT&T and Verizon to cooperate with a Congressional subpoena to provide phone records of President Donald Trump’s personal attorneys Rudy Giuliani and Jay Sekulow, U.S. Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.), the ranking member of the committee for Republicans, and journalist John Solomon.”
This seemed to be the working assumption at the time, that the phone records were obtained via subpoena, yet Adam Schiff and the House Intel committee told the Daily Beast point-blank that they did not subpoena those phone records. They confidently repeated this, and, for once, there was little reason to doubt them, simply because a congressional subpoena would leave a paper trail.
IF, though, as Newseek’s Cuthbertson wrote in 2016, AT&T was “secretly selling customer data to law enforcement agencies” rather than turning over the data on when forced to in order to comply with warrants, that might explain how the detailed call record data for, among others, ‘enemy’ reporter Soloman and Trump’s lawyer, got into the possession of Adam Schiff and other Democrats on the House Intel Committee without the need of a warrant.
If Schiff managed to obtain the private phone record data of a reporter and the presidents’ lawyer without a warrant because someone else bought those private customer records from AT&T, the question of course is *who*, or which putative law enforcement agency, bought that data from AT&T?

The bomber has recent odd history of quit claiming his real estate to a woman in California. She denied it but she received a previous property from him and quit claimed it to another woman.
He had a drug felony long ago and currently had his one IT company installing alarm systems it looks like.
I’d say the woman was his love interest at some time. And ATT screwed him over in some manner.
My guess is he was a mass shooter headed into ATT but failed and blew his backup plan up.
