Have a great Weekend!

Obscene, abusive, or annoying remarks may be deleted or moved to spam for admin review, but the fact that particular comments remain on the site in no way constitutes an endorsement of their content by any other commenter or the admins of this Blogmocracy.

We're not easily offended and don't want people to think they have to walk on eggshells around here (like at another place that shall remain nameless) but of course, there is a limit to everything.

There has to be a new name minted for people who build their facts and demeanors strictly off of fantasies.

    Flat Earthers.
    Pathological Liars.
    Qanon addicts.
    BLM protestors.
    Mainstream media dicks.

I talked to a flat earther once. His whole reason to exist was to wear a serious face and argue a fraud until someone believed him. He got off on it. Probably an early version of trolling.

A lot of the black commentary on racism is like that also. Hyperinflated hyperbole meant to block out the sun.

IMO it’s a form of mental illness that is untreated except by a slap in the face. Words just fuel it.

Even the ancients knew the earth wasn’t flat. Proto-troller Samuel Shenton made money with his outrageous claim in the 1950s. Although Shenton may have been a true nutcase, I put The Flat Earth Society in the same category as Pastafarianism.

Once upon a time the site got hosed so that all you got when you launched the URL was the last thread you looked at. The way to make it get the top thread was to use the URL form

    blocmocracy.com/?q=12345

where ‘12345’ is a string of random numerals. My guess is the ? is a search command, the q= is an id of some sort and because it never finds that id, it gives you the top of the stack

I don’t see an cache control lines in the header section? They are easy to add to the header.php

Also I wonder what these do? The parler one has a plugin and pulls in a js library. What does that plugin do? I’d probably remove it.

There is also a commenting addon that probably is the visual interface we are used to. But unless there is a critical usability function in it its probably easy to go native wordpress or install Jetpack. Jetpack is the wordpress standard for being the swiss army knife. It only caused me issues when the plugin had a security lockup. But that was 10 years ago. If one changed that it would need to be tested on a copy of the blog first.

// WordPress Comment Toolbar plugin: Javascript functions
    //
    // Plugin release: 1.4.3
    // Author: Cristiano Fino
    // WebSite: http://www.cristianofino.net

Moving to jetpack and dropping parler moves the plugins all into the big basket of stuff that is well maintained. again it would have to be tested. Could break some kinks in the blog if altered.

Problems here are due to browsers using cache. We went through this months ago here. There is a line you can add to the .http thingy file that makes the server send a fresh page every time a user requests a page and so the browser ignores its cache.

No disrespect to anyone, but a very heavy traffic site benefits from a user getting most of a page content from cache if it is unchanged. Such as graphics.

The settings here tell the server nothing is new, so Mr/Mrs/Miss/They/Them/It use cache.

If you are on a PC hold down CTRL and hit the squirly arrow on the browser that refreshes a page. Holding down CTRL means ignore cache.

On a phone you got to just hit page refresh a few times with fingers crossed.

There’s a pester note that’s been sitting on the dashboard for a long time, and the link goes to this:

Good news – CloudLinux already took care about PHP version of your website

Please, be sure that your site is safe!
WordPress recommends everyone update their PHP versions, but this is often not possible.
This is why your site is using HardenedPHP, by CloudLinux.
HardenedPHP is a way of supporting older versions of PHP without compromising security.
If you’ve been brought here by WordPress’s PHP update warnings, there is nothing you need to do.

    Waukesha Police Department

At this time, we can confirm that 5 people are deceased and over 40 are injured. However, these numbers may change as we collect additional information. Many people have self-transported to area hospitals. The Police Department has the person of interest in custody.
Main Street is closed from Barstow & Main to Wisconsin and Main. The street will not be open before mid-day tomorrow, Monday, November 22nd. Businesses in this area should remain closed as entry and exit from Main Street will not be allowed.
When the area is open, the City is requesting that any items for a temporary memorial be placed at Veterans Park.
Many people witnessed traumatic events this evening. If you need to talk with someone, please call 211.
The scene is still fluid, and the investigation is ongoing. The community mourns the loss of our community members and those injured. We are asking for the community to come together during this time and to keep the families in your prayers.

Illinois Democrat: Waukesha SUV Rampage Was ‘Karma’ for Rittenhouse Trial

Illinois Democrat Mary Lemanski called Sunday’s Christmas parade massacre “karma” on residents of Wisconsin for Friday’s “not guilty” verdicts in the Kyle Rittenhouse trial.

She’s not an elected official, she works for the Dem party in some capacity.

She also moans that nobody has ever loved her. Including her mother. Can’t imagine why

Nobody cared about me like my whole life. My mom used to leave me for hours at a time alone in my play pen. I’ve put out music for 20 years nobody gave a shit. Why do people all of a sudden care about a stupid remark? I can’t believe my 15 minutes of fame is for this shit.

And when was the last time the Dutch fer god’s sake take to the streets?

It’s the oddest thing. A continent ravaged during a century of wars against totalitarianism – is trying totalitarianism again.

The accommodation for Covid infected are motel type accommodation in Alice Springs. A LOT better m that what the Covid suffers had in their home communities.

The second conflated story was all about a purpose built isolation facility at Toowoomba SW of Brisbane Queensland. High tech but no electric fences as the hyperbolic reporter claimed. Totally the wrong place as it’s a 100 Km bus trip from Brisbane International airport. The airfield at Toowoomba is way too short to take jets.

I would have had the none mRNA based vaccine until I found out it was a weakened/dead adenovirus ( common cold ) virus that had been genetically modified to have a coronavirus spike thingy.

Me on gun laws and open carry in the USA.

    Specifically long guns.

The laws would be easier to understand and enforce if there was some way to adapt the laws and rules we had in England when I was 14.

Now none of this applies anymore in England probably.

Age 14 I was legally allowed to posses an air rifle. Not quite the same as an American BB gun. Same principle though, coiled spring and piston propelling a lethal projectile via compressed air.

Had a .177 for target shooting, and a .22 for killing vermin. Why two rifles you may ask. Go on, ask…

OK the answer, a .177 has less drop for a given distance than a .22 at the same velocity. Less fucking with sights and compensating.

I very nearly lost my train of thought due to reminiscing about my past but. The point is.

The Kyle Rittenhouse trial. One of the charges that got dropped was possession of a long gun by him. It was deemed legal because of Wisconsin law as regards hunting.

Well my point is, if the USA adopted the type of gun laws that were in force in England in the early 1970’s there would be less confusion.

Specifically air rifle ( yep my air rifle ) could not be fired within a certain distance from a highway.

And get this… Any air rifle must be unloaded and carried in a case when within x feet from a highway. Can’t remember the distance but I know I had a flexible case that when not in use I wrapped around my waist.

So as a start, no long guns to be openly carried within city limits.

    And there is more!

From recent events it seems a long barreled weapon is sort of effective for self defence but a very poor choice.

I submit exhibit one. Kyle Rittenhouse. His first kill was when Rosenbaum grabbed the weapon, effectively pointing the weapon at Rosenbaum’s own body

Two shots fired at drop kick man and Kyle missed.

Skate board attacker grabbed gun and pointed it at his own heart. Not a smart thing to do.

The Gage person, well that was a very lucky shot Rittenhouse did.

Oh and some may ask why a 14 year old had a weapon and went hunting.

To shoot and kill sparrows to feed to my ferret called Sally who helped me to catch rabbits that we killed to feed me and my family.

And NO I do not play the banjo….

    @ Possum Pureblood:

Nope, close combat you need a handgun. .

Of course, 17 year olds aren’t allowed to carry handguns. Hence the carbine-length AR-15.

For what he was doing, literally running around putting out fires and such, a pistol would have been a better choice. Had he been in a stationary position, guarding a building, a long gun is a better choice, simply because it’s visible. The real objective is to deter would-be looters, not necessarily to get into gunfights with them.

As for “close combat,” I doubt that he ever received any such training. If he had, he would have learned never to let an adversary get close enough to grab his weapon.

I saw what he was doing with the AR15 as what a wasp does with the yellow and black stripes. What an Amazonian tree frog does with the bright colours.

    Basically stay away from me.

The fact that even when Rittenhouse displayed his wasp and tree frog warning others attacked him is their stupid fault.

If I ever desired to ever fire a weapon again that used gunpower I would like to have a go with an M4. This is someone who once fired 5 rounds from a .22 rifle on a range when he was in the ATC. ( ATC is UK Air Training Corps, bit like USA ROTC. )

12g shotgun is perfect for that.

i wouldnt carry an AR in public, a simple revolver or a ppk is fine for that.

if i have to carry open with a big gun, believe me, society has broken down enough that now i have to go back to my training. if that happens, society has broken down.

    what???!!

I saw his interview w/Tucker. He’s a good person, well beyond his years. As far as I can tell from his story, people he knew asked him for help.

That’s all well and good. Until it isn’t.

First of all, the owners of the commercial enterprises who asked for help are nowhere to be found.

Second – WHERE IS HIS FATHER

Third – by the time I was his age I probably had as much training as he did. I was on the rifle team at 15 and my dad made sure I was comfortable with firearms – loaned me his handguns for target practice and stuff.

There are ZERO adults in here except for the ‘rioters’. There are no ‘Korean rooftop’ people, there is nobody.

The cops aren’t doing anything – Kyle tried turning himself in, they pepper sprayed him and told him to get his ass home.

There is a lot of missing context here. His mom was asleep? Please.

It’s not that HE had no business being there – it’s that people whose job it was to be there – weren’t.

I went to high school in a semi-rural community, most of the kids that hunted had a gun rack in their truck. The gun racks usually held the weapons used for what ever hunting seasons that were open at the time. They were parked in the school parking lots, I doubt if many were even locked. I don’t recall a knife ever being pulled during a fight or a brawl between sports teams, much less anyone retrieving a weapon from a vehicle. Yup. Sick in the head too.

I actually enjoyed it a lot. Used to take free jumps in lieu of pay when I was operating as a drop pilot for Parachutes Australia.

When I came to military jumps, they were ultra professional and I never had any concerns. Except for the time when we needed to jump to get the course finished on time. REALLY crappy weather and we were forced lower and lower until we finally jumped at 400 feet in rain that felt like bullets. WE had been standing up for 30 minutes with full kit and we were all in agony as the aircraft bucked and rolled with the whole stick throwing their hearts up all over the deck. I was #2 in the door so it wasn’t that bad as I could see outside and get some ventilation from the open door and slipstream. I watched the SAS doctor on the ground standing right alongside his Range Rover holding a white megaphone to his mouth. Then the light went green and out we went. #1 landed on a fencepost and broke his ankle. I rushed the deployment of my pack and rifle and it hung on still attached to one leg. My chute opened and I swung just 3 times and hit the ground, fortunately on top of my pack and rifle and didn’t break my leg. There was no point in carrying reserves at 400 feet but we still wore them!

Nobody died so that was a positive. I used to volunteer as the ‘drifter’ for other military jump courses just so that I could get a few freebies. Drifters were used to see what the wind was doing and correct for the jump proper. You just jumped and didn’t try to steer and let the wind ‘do its thing’.

    🙂

    I really loved jumping !

A man wakes up in the hospital bandaged from head to foot.

The man groans, but the doctor goes on, “You have $9000 in insurance compensation coming and we now have the technology to build a new penis. They work great but they don’t come cheap. It’s roughly $1000 an inch.”

    The man perks up.

So, the doctor says, “You must decide how many inches you want. Now, you’ve been married for over thirty years and this is something you should discuss with your wife. If you had a five incher before and get a nine incher now she might be a bit put out. If you had a nine incher before and you decide to only invest in a five incher now, she might be disappointed. It’s important that she plays a role in helping you make a decision.”

The man agrees to talk it over with his wife. The doctor comes back the next day, “So, have you spoken with your wife?”

“Yes I have,” says the man.

“And has she helped you make a decision?”

    “Yes” says the man.

“What is your decision?” asks the doctor.

    “We’re getting granite counter tops.”

House Judiciary Chairman Nadler Calls for DOJ to Charge Kyle Rittenhouse

The chairman of the House Judiciary Committee Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.) is urging the Department of Justice to charge Kyle Rittenhouse after he was found not guilty by Wisconsin jurors on Friday on all five counts in the deaths of two men during Black Lives Matter protests and riots in Kenosha in August 2020.

Rittenhouse faced up to life in prison for five charges, including first-degree reckless homicide, after killing Joseph Rosenbaum and Anthony Huber and injuring a third person. A sixth charge was dropped last Monday.

Republicans, including Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.), have praised the not guilty verdict, with the Wisconsin senator stating that: “I believe justice has been served in the Kyle Rittenhouse trial. I hope everyone can accept the verdict, remain peaceful, and let the community of Kenosha heal and rebuild.”

“All of us who knew what actually happened in Kenosha last year assumed this would be the verdict. Thankfully, the jury thought the same,” Republican former Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker also wrote on Twitter on Friday.

However, the not guilty verdict has created some division.

Nadler blasted Friday’s verdict and called for the DOJ to review the court decision.

“This heartbreaking verdict is a miscarriage of justice and sets a dangerous precedent which justifies federal review by DOJ,” Nadler wrote on Twitter.

“Justice cannot tolerate armed persons crossing state lines looking for trouble while people engage in First Amendment-protected protest,” argued the senior House Democrat.

And Watergate was a set up? Jeebus.

Shepard’s credibility is hard to challenge. He was an insider who turned on Nixon after hearing one of the most critical secret tape recordings in the Watergate case. In fact, he is credited with dubbing the tape the “smoking gun” because he believed it tied Nixon to the Watergate cover-up.

Only later did Shepard change his mind when he realized that Nixon was running through options in the scandal, not approving a hush payment in the case.

And more recently, he forced the release of the secret prosecutor’s “road map” used to convince a grand jury to indict key Watergate figures and egg on the impeachment inquiry that turned out to be a hoax, somewhat similar to the “dossier” used to spark the FBI investigation of former President Donald Trump.

“They knew it was a lie, and they made it up,” Shepard said.

Gun charges have very serious jail time. For some reason I was close to law enforcement trumping up gun charges on people over the course of a decade.

The judges treat it like the Parnell child custody judge. They assume the worst and you have to prove to them you are innocent. They have a broad discretion to find a technical kink in your story and then slam the full weight of the charge on your head if they don’t like you.

If you are a felon and go to a party at house where someone has a gun in the house in any form. (It doesn’t even have to work.) And the police break up a fight and notice the gun and notice you are a felon then you get a 10 year jail sentence. It could be a beat up 22 with no shells anywhere. Doesn’t make a difference to the judge.

It’s different in every state. But it’s abused in every state.

The scams on twitter crypto are a tsunami. I made a twitter account to just do crypto and resist my urge to head hunt on politics.

But apparently I am the twitter crypto prey. Constant friend requests from Elon Musk to help him spend his billions. Crypto makes money transfer contracts irreversible. I’d guess over 50 percent of twitter crypto is just people trying to con other people.

Crypto is sold as de centralized secure financial freedom from banks and fiat.
There is a seamy side though. They have a construct called gas fees which is like an ATM fee for trading money through a computer. On ETH that gas fee can be a 50 percent fee sometimes depending on the time of day.

A crypto trade is usually exchange fee, wallet fee, miner fee, gas fee to move from one coin to another. 5 percent plus 2 percent plus 1 percent plus a variable percent. So if you spend $100 you’ll get a 8-25 percent loss of funds. This forces a person to stay on one exchange like Coinbase or cyrpto.com unless you have a lot of money.

The best investment strategy then is to have a Coinbase account and just buy BTC and hold it. 1 percent of a risk portfolio as an inflation hedge. Coinbase insures small accounts and holds them securely. You’ll have $100 one day and $40 the next and $250 a week later then back to $80 but at year end you should have $150 at what is called the resistance floor.

The risk is like what happened with 2013 coins. 99 percent of them failed and disappeared. BTC and LTC survived. But with all the big banks now into BTC it will become a worldwide currency supplement. It’s volatile and high risk but should even out.

Shot a sparrow at age 10 and was dismayed at its death struggles.
Caught numerous fish and hated to see them gasping for air.
Wrung a lot of chicken necks while they complained about imminent dinner.

What you realize is that those things have to be done to survive. And continue to do them with a better idea in mind.

Shooting shotguns and rifles as a pre teen never bothered me in the slightest. I think I started around age 5 with a .22 and my old man giving me strict safety lessons. He was a person you didn’t want to fuck around and find out with.

A gun society that knows gun safety well is a mature society that can survive most problems.

Which is the reason I am not sad Rittenhouse killed jo-jo. He did society a favor when all adult mean in the area cut and ran. I am not sure what I would do. If the violence extended to my neighborhood I would group up with the well armed neighbors. Maybe get some free ammo.

We just had a case in Albuquerque where a drunk 19 year old crashed into someone and killed them. Then it came out that he had been arrested in Roswell a few days before, after a drunken crash. In the Roswell case, he resisted arrest and had multiple firearms in his possession. Yet he was released without bail on the condition that he not drive, drink alcohol, possess firearms, or leave the county (hint: Roswell is 200 miles from Albuquerque). He managed to violate every single condition of his release and killed someone in less than a week.

A meth head actually becomes evil once the drug violates their nervous system enough. The people who take it are destroyed. No clearer case for a death penalty for drug dealers. A little meth is too much meth.

I’ve dealt with it several times. IF your neighbor is up late, lot of visitors, then property theft will go up. Best to have a dog to scare them off.

Incarceration in a meth/fentanyl in patient facility for at least two years is the minimum needed to help them. $500k is the cost of that.

Ken Nordine was awesome. Besides the classic Word Jazz albums of the 1950s, he did others; some were interactive. He also did a lot of voiceover commercials in the 70s and 80s.

There was a lab experiment that tested addiction levels. Rats could get a “hit” if they pressed a lever, but then the machine would require them to press it more than once to get another hit.

Rats would press the lever up to 60 times or so get a bit of heroin before they’d quit. With meth, they never gave up.

    Yup

Rittenhouse supports BLM for crying out aloud. Part of the BLM manifesto calls directly for the destruction of the concept of a human family. That right there is more than enough to cause rational people to condemn BLM as the murderous arsewipes that they are.

I’m guessing that the majority of rational types have never made time to actually read the BLM manifesto, just as 90% of Germans never made time to read Hitler’s Mein Kampht

    https://goldenlawnc.com/possession-with-intent-to-sell-and-distribute/

Possession of more than 1 and ½ ounce of marijuana, up to 10 pounds of marijuana, is punishable as a Class I felony. Possessing any amount over 10 pounds can lead to trafficking charges and serious jail time. Any significant amount of marijuana, even if it is significantly less than 10 pounds, is likely to carry some type of sale or deliver charges as well.

One of the felony charges on the Waukesha racist.

I checked my stash and I bought 51 Grams of edibles a few months ago. About $40. 1.8 ounces. I am a felon if I travel with my pot off of the left coast. If I stop at a ranchers house to get some beef jerky and he has a gun in the house then I get a tackon 10 year federal prison sentence. Depending on how technical the judicial system wants to get and how much of a dick I am in court.

If I’m traveling with someone with a bad military discharge they get the same just for sitting in the car with me. Also depends on the state.
