Interesting fact.
After the last display of the season eight of the nine pilots will be fired and returned to the squadrons they came from.
Only one will remain and will be the new Red 1. Then eight more pilots will join the team and go to Cyprus for the winter to practice.
The Red Arrows pilots are all front line fighter pilots on a one year secondment flying the two seat Hawk T1 training aircraft.
Probably the same for Blue Angels and Thunderbirds.

The early Vulcans were all painted white, an anti flash protection for when they dropped nukes. They flew at 56,000 ft or higher to evade ground to air missiles and most fighters of that era.
As fighters and ground to air missiles evolved the Vulcans switched to very low level ground hugging attack profiles so that is why on early film footage they are all white and later they are all camouflaged.
B52s are painted just boring.

The B-52s evolved the same way. They were originally intended for high altitude bombing, and later switched to low level, terrain following flight. Now, they either operate way outside the conflict area using standoff missiles or they fly over places like Afghanistan were there’s no threat. They were actually used as close air support platforms in Afghanistan, flying for hours in big circles waiting for calls to drop JDAMs on targets.
They started out in unpainted, silver finishes. The ones deployed to SE Asia were painted in woodland camouflage. In recent decades, they’re all gray with low visibility markings, like most every other USAF plane.

Now, why do I suddenly have mushroom soup in stock when I didn’t have any last night?

The RAF C-17 Bunk reported to his HOA a couple of days ago for being noisy is currently pissing off prairie dogs in the mountains about 60 miles south of Monterey.
They did it yesterday and again today.

I’ve flown out of the Monterey airport a couple of times. It’s a short runway, with trees to the east and the ocean to the west. Makes for an interesting takeoff in a 737. They taxi to the east end of the runway, turn around, and then a tug pushes them back to where the wings nearly touch the fence. The rear third of the plane is outside the fence. Then they pretend that they’re on an aircraft carrier, less the catapult.

Was waiting for the pilot of the RAF plane to come on the radio and in a very serious voice say ” Too close for missiles, switching to guns! ”
Anyway Black Cat said they had plenty of fuel, would have been interesting to see where they went, but they landed at Monterey.

This afternoon Walmart delivered my food!
As usual I forgot something. We are almost out of butter, aw shit.
Anyway, a 5lbs thing of pork loin arrived and this one had a decent amount of fat on it. Not as much as I would like. It was a substitute for the picnic roast I ordered. They have a nice layer of fat.
Well, a chunk of the pork loin was cut off and butterflied. Marinated in Italian dressing for about three hours then wrapped in a foil packet and baked at 350F for 25 minutes. Then packet opened and temp up to 400F for a few minutes to crispy the fat. Perfect!
Stuffing, we have stuffing mix in stock and it requires half a stick of butter. We are low on butter so I had an amazing thought. Lard! Um no, it does not taste or smell right, won’t be doing that again.
Also delivered was a jar of alfredo, that is required to finish off the shit load of cauliflower cheese I cooked last night.
3lbs onions arrived, so one got sliced up and baked in the pork juice. The Sautee onions will be mixed with some Campbells cream of mushroom soup to make a very nice sauce for the pork loin.
So, supper is all cooked and ready to be plated up and eaten.
Pork, onion and mushroom sauce, cauliflower cheese, stuffing, apple sauce and maybe some canned carrots for added colour.
LOL and as usual, into the fridge and freezer it all goes. Do not want now.
Fried egg on toast sounds good. Glad I did not use what butter I have for the stuffing.

I Googled Mountain Home Air Force Base and it isn’t that big. The Qatari pilots are going to need somewhere to stay. There are a few hotels in the surrounding area.

Note to anyone who knows cats. When they greet each other they sniff at each others faces. That is to discover what they ate and where it is. They also sniff my face as a greeting, but usually they really don’t want to know what I ate.

However, do not want it tonight so in the freezer it goes, supper is more roast pork, been eating a 5lbs pork loin for a week now. Brussels sprouts cheese, like cauliflower cheese but with brussels sprouts, stuffing, not the cheap shit I made using lard, I threw that away, it was nasty! But Stove top and using butter. Apple sauce and maybe a sauce for the pork of either mushroom soup or alfredo with fried onions.
Off to slice a couple of unions and slow cook them in butter just incase they are required tonight.
Slicing is best done before being drunk as a skunk, I know from experience.

I got lucky with the last pork loin I got. It had about half an inch of fat on one side. Usually all Walmart meat is over trimmed.
So basically when you butterfly it you get pork meat surrounded by fat. Things like a pork chop only have fat on one side.

Electricity kind of makes its way back to where it was born through the earth, not Earth as in the planet but earth as in your garden.
Look at a 450Kv electricity pylon and there are three or six wires on them. Three phase and a really skinny wire at the top. That is the wire that returns any imbalance of usage in the other three wires back to the power plant.
Any other imbalance in usage travels back via the ground.
If you drove a metal rod into the ground and another one some feet away in the direction of the power plant and using a volt meter set to the millivolt setting you will see a reading.

It just saves the Walmart delivery person having to type all that shit in when you show ID to get wine and beer delivered.

OR NOT! It was salty as fuck, almost too salty to eat but I was hungry.
Today I looked at the data. I reduced a can of Del Monte Diced Tomatoes with the Flavors of Basil, Garlic & Oregano, 14.5 oz Can which is 3.5 servings down to a yummy thick sauce.
A can has 3.5 servings, each serving is 350mg sodium. so the whole can is 1225mg salt. Then add to that the sodium from bacon. I cooked 2oz raw which is 420mg.
So, a salty fail.
Even Lucy has fails when cooking.
Supper at 5am will be just bacon and fluffy bread. None of the really salty tomato shit.
I sleep on the sofa because it’s the closest to everything I need and I don’t need to walk far, which I still can’t do well because of the balance issues. The great part is that the gas fireplace come on with the flip of a switch and it is the cosiest thing in the world to sleep with the fireplace on.

A real Cuban sandwich has ham and pork with cheese and mustard. Butter the top and bottom of the breat, put it in a skillet with a heavy pan over it to flatten down and cook on both sides for about five minutes.
