Heroin

A lot of questions were asked yesterday about narcotics, deaths, et cetera. I’ll try to answer them real quick here as I have one more day of work and then OFF FOR A WEEK!!!!

This is an Open Thread and I don’t need links. I see this every day in the meat world.

Codeine=1, hydrocodone x6, oral morphine x10, oxycodone x15-20, iv morphine x 40, fentanyl x1000, carfentanyl x1,000,000.

Heroin is 2 to 4 times stronger than morphine depending on route and metabolism in its purest form.

There is an increase in fentanyl being found in the junkie’s heroin. Almost all fentanyl and all carfentanyl for this use is coming out of China and being distributed through the ports on the East Coast, hence the reason this side of Interstate 80 is getting hammered, look at the map. China is at war with US on many levels, this is just one of them. Tr’Vonne and Shananay and Bubba and Betty Sue can’t cook up fentanyl in their kitchens like cooking up crack and meth, it takes pharmaceutical and chemical expertise and a lab to manufacture it.

We got a bunch of folks addicted to pain meds and then cut them off. Heroin is cheaper than the pills and far easier to get. If somebody you know needs help, finding the right treatment for addiction in Richmond might be a good option for them.
Just as we got a ton of peole addicted to pain pills, we are now encouraging heroin addiction:

The prevalence of NARCAN (the antidote to an opiate OD) is directly causing more junkies to survive the OD and causing the ER visits to skyrocket. I had one junkie, who I resuscitate three times, flat out tell me the he and his friend’s get as high as they can because they know that we will save them. We are getting in the way of Darwin way too much here and are in fact encouraging this behavior. No one forced these people to take the spike. This was started on their own free will.

When a junkie ODs, the brand of heroin that he used becomes much sought after, that stamp on the bag is like a label. Then the ER is swamped with like minded junkies who went out and got that ‘stamp bag’. Similarly, if a group of them shoot up with the same strong stamp bags, then the ER is flooded again.

See Yinz later! Post any questions and I will try my best to answer them!

NFL Wake 10! The “Hold on to Your Hats” Thread

I swore after Week 3, the week of “Let’s All Join Hands and Take a Knee Because Donald Trump is a big bully” that I was just not going to devote full columns to discussing these self-absorbed twits. But frankly, they really are the gift that keeps on giving.  Especially when you tend towards the smart ass.

So I guess in the NFL, November is Salute to Service Month.  I’m given to understand it always was the Salute to Service Month but for some reason it was the best-kept secret in the NFL up till now.  But this year they seem to be going all out – all the coaching staff is wearing Camo, and there are PSA’s cut by the teams with them honoring a veteran.  Tell me, do you guys bring the veteran out on the field with you for the anthem?  You know, so he can get a front-row seat of you disrespecting the flag and the anthem of the country he fought for?  He’ll be easy to spot – he’s the one standing at attention with his hand over his heart.  Oh, and last week, the NFL apparently not only acknowledged its Patriotic base has for all intents and purposes disappeared but apparently where it had feld TO — it advertised it’s “Salute to Service” during a commercial broadcast during the NASCAR race.  I’m sure the 1o or so race fans that didn’t get up for a beer while this annoying self-promotion was on had a few choice words for the screen.

While corner-eye watching last week, however, the number of fights and ejections by these idiots made me wonder if American anger with the league and their whole “SJW” BS is starting to get to them.  Geez I hope so.

Let’s start with this choice little number, from the Bengals/Jaquars game.  AJ Green puts on the chokehold and throws punches at Jalen Ramsey – now at the time it happened, the announcers said that they weren’t ejected but I found out later that yes they were.  But please notice the yellow flag isn’t thrown after Ramsey’s shove, only after the Green chokehold – so why was RAMSEY ejected?

In the Saints game, Jameis Winston poked Marshon Lattimore, who turned and gave him a tweek, after which he was blindsided by Mike Evans, who apparently thought the game was over and the UFC had taken over the field.

Evans was NOT ejected from the game, but fined.  Nice going there, refs.

Then Sunday evening, such a huge fight broke out during the Raider/Miami game that the refs ran out of yellow flags and started throwing their hats.  I sincerely hope this isn’t a trend.

If the fighting gets really bad as the season progresses, they may have to resort to throwing other items of clothing.  And depending on the game, I may be eating.  Or I WAS.  Unfortunately there is no video of lonely hats sitting on the field.

I can see it now.  “Well, Chris it was pretty nasty out there.  I count a total of 8 – EIGHT! – hats thrown on the field.  And Ed Hoculi was at the point where he was removing his whistle!”

As the slide continues, here’s the Future Brawlers of America playing this week  (Byes to the Ravens, Chiefs, Raiders and Eagles – nice: maybe I can get Football Savant Offspring to clean his room since he has no dog in the hunt/fight this week):

Saints @Bills
Packers @ Bears
Browns @ Lions
Steelers @ Colts
Chargers @ Jaguars
Jets @ Bucs
Bengals @ Titans
Vikings @ Redskins
Texans @ Rams
Cowboys @Falcons
Giants @ An Near-Empty Stadium at Santa Clara, CA
Patriots @ Broncos

Monday:
Dolphins @ Panthers.

In the NHL the guys I like to call “the Boys of Winter” are busy:

Devils @ Blackhawks
Oilers @  Capitals
Lightning @ Mighty Ducks (REALLY, Anaheim?)
Sharks @ Kings

NASCAR’s penultimate race takes the drivers back to the Southwest to Phoenix.  Martin Truex Jr. maintains a 50-point lead in the Points Race, and here’s hoping as they head to the Home(stead) Stretch, he pulls off his first Championship.  More on this next week.

In the PGA, the OHL Classic at Mayakoba is in its final round.

In the NBA, street thugs making millions will be bouncing a ball around a court dressed like idiots.

As always, it’s your Sunday Open thread, so discuss all the weekend news dump items here.

#20 Iowa

3:30 PM

Flat out smashmouth Big10 football right here. Iowa is a 12 point dog on the road at Camp Randall, Iowa beats the spread but the darlings of the day who hanged 55 points on the Fake-eyes last week are due for a let down.

#2 Alabama

‘Bama’s defense has a ton of injuries…Bama is a 14 point favorite, they don’t beat the spread.
