Oddly, Renzi loses, the Italians go all nationalist and Ferrari stock hits a record high.

Not the best season opening from MY perspective

Not the best season opening from MY perspective

How about dem Raiders, folks?  The team that was the joke of the league (a position previously occupied by the other favorite team in our house, the Saints and before that the Buccaneers) has come out of nowhere really to become the DARLINGS of the Bay Area.  They used to be that dirty kid that came around on Sunday to mess up your house while those wearing the Red and Gold of the San Francisco Douchebags sipped their chablis and rolled their eyes.  Now with the five-ring dingalings virtually winless, everyone’s donning their black and silver and walkin’ proud.  Football Savant Offspring is making his yearly pilgrimage to the Oakland-Alameda County Cathedral to watch the guys take on the Bills.  Which leaves me with a quiet home, the big screen, beer, and time to trade barbs with Mack for the next three hours.

Next week, we’ll start talking playoff picture and who’s still in and who’s definitely OUT (hint – teams mentioned above will fit into one each of the categories).

Poll question:  Is Derek Carr wearing eyeliner or does he just have eyelashes a camel would envy?

The Games (Holy Cow I was wrong – two more byes – Browns and Titans – kinda LATE in the Season isn’t it?)
Chiefs @ Falcons
Dolphins @ Baltimore
Jerkoffs @ Bears
Eagles @ Bengals
Texans @ Packers
Broncos @ Jaguars
Rams @ Patriots
Lions @ Saints
Bills @ Raiders
Redskins @ Cardinals
Giants @ Steelers
Buccaneers @ Chargers
Panthers @ Seahawks

Monday’s Game
Colts @ Jets

In the NHL, here’s the round-up
Canadiens @ Kings
Lightening @ Hurricanes
Flyers @ Predators
Red Wings @ Islanders
Jets @ Blackhawks
Ducks @ Flames
Wild @ Oilers

The NBA*  has a light schedule today:
Magic @ Pistons
Kings @ Knicks
Pelicans @ Thunder (really New Orleans – get your NAME back from Utah)
Pacers @ Clippers

And of course it’s an open thread for a Sunday, so discuss everything you didn’t have time for during the week. Trump cabinet picks, the recounts that really aren’t, and of court Obama’s newest excuse for why the election wasn’t about HIM. Also, if you haven’t finished off the last of your Thanksgiving turkey and are still holding on to the Tupperware, call it a day and let it go.

It’s Championship Week! And it’s a new OPEN thread!

American Athletic Conference
Who: Temple at No. 19 Navy
Where: Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium (Annapolis, Maryland)
When: Noon ET (ABC/ESPN App)
PickCenter

Temple is a three point dog against Navy, This Navy team is for real and will cover this spread.

Conference USA
Who: Louisiana Tech at Western Kentucky
Where: L.T. Smith Stadium (Bowling Green, Kentucky)
When: Noon ET (ESPN/ESPN App)
PickCenter

Big 12*
Who: No. 10 Oklahoma State at No. 9 Oklahoma
Where: Memorial Stadium (Norman, Oklahoma)
When: 12:30 p.m. ET (FOX)
PickCenter

* Not official championship game, however, conference title will be decided in this game.

The Big 12 needs a Championship game, they do. So in this classic battle its OSU getting 11 points. That’s a lot for two closely ranked teams. I’d go against this line on principle.

SEC
Who: No. 1 Alabama vs. No. 15 Florida
Where: Georgia Dome (Atlanta)
When: 4 p.m. ET (CBS)
PickCenter

‘Bama is giving 24 points. They have nothing to prov, so they won’t cover. They will win tho.

Mountain West
Who: San Diego State at Wyoming
Where: War Memorial Stadium (Laramie, Wyoming)
When: 7:45 p.m. ET (ESPN/ESPN App>
PickCenter

ACC
Who: No. 3 Clemson vs. No. 23 Virginia Tech
Where:
Camping World Stadium (Orlando, Florida)
When: 8 p.m. ET (ABC/ESPN App)
PickCenter

Clemson is giving 10 points to VA Tech. They should cover.

Big Ten
Who: No. 6 Wisconsin vs. No. 7 Penn State
Where:
Lucas Oil Stadium (Indianapolis)
When: 8 p.m. ET (FOX)
PickCenter

The mere idea that Penn State should be in the playoffs if they win this game is absurd. PSU is not as good as their record shows. they lost to PITT and were blown off the field by Michigan. PSU has over-preformed this season and that is due to great coaching, but they are not in the same league as the top 4. Don’t tell that to one of the faithful happy valley cult zombies though; they will try to eat your brain. W is a 3 point favorite and should cover. This will be an EXCELLENT game.
