So, that blows a whole in a bunch of people’s tickets for the 2012 GOP Presidential Primaries.

Where will the Trump supporters go? The GOP leadership certainly just re-gain a bunch of power to help form the filed and pick the next GOP nominee. Trump did not need their money or support. Can the TEA parties overcome the Pawlentyromneygingrichjebbushdaniels yawners and send a real conservative to fight Obama in 2012?

Ron Paul is set to announce his Presidential run in Iowa Tuesday. He will face competition from fellow Libertarian, former New Mexico Governor Gary Johnson. Paul has a cult following and is just a loony figure who has no chance.

Texas Rep. Ron Paul (R) will announce he is forming a presidential exploratory committee on Tuesday in Iowa, the congressman said Monday.

The two-time presidential candidate is scheduled to make his announcement during a press conference in the state capital of Des Moines at 4:45 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time. During the press conference, Paul will also name members of his campaign’s Iowa leadership team, according to a source close to the congressman.

Ron Paul is more than welcome to run for the GOP nomination. That said, except for his cult like following, he’s just an object of laughter.

Haley Barbour not running

Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour has announced he will not run for President. This is actually shocking since he was considered one of the top Contenders.

“I will not be a candidate for president next year. This has been a difficult, personal decision, and I am very grateful to my family for their total support of my going forward, had that been what I decided.

“Hundreds of people have encouraged me to run and offered both to give and raise money for a presidential campaign. Many volunteers have organized events in support of my pursuing the race. Some have dedicated virtually full time to setting up preliminary organizations in critical, early states and to helping plan what has been several months of intensive activity.

It’s a shame because Haley Barbour was one of the few potential contenders who was opposed to the Libyan intervention. He handled Hurricane Katrina with success as opposed to Louisiana Governor Katleen Blanco who botched it. This showed his leadership skills. This will be a sad loss for the GOP.
