The Lebanese Druze leader Walid Jumblat is known in Lebanese politics as the weather vane. He always sides with the strongest faction to ensure the survival of the Druze community. He is now openly challenging Hizb’Allah’s power by coming out in support of the Syrian branch of al-Qaeda, the al-Nusra Front.

Druze leader Walid Jumblat has sided with the rebel Al-Nusra Front, a jihadist group which Washington lists as a “terrorist organisation’, in the Syrian conflict.

“I support Al-Nusra Front against the Syrian regime,” Jumblat said in an interview with Al-Akhbar newspaper published on Wednesday.

“The Syrian people has the right to side with the devil — except with Israel — against the regime,” said Jumblat, a fierce foe of President Bashar Assad.

“I am acting to protect the (Syrian) Druze.

It’s obvious al-Qaeda is now the strong horse horse in Syria and Jumblat is trying to get in their good grace should when they decide to invade Lebanon. Hizb’Allah will regret its role as an Iranian puppet. However, they are not al-Qaeda’s only target.

Al Nusra fighters are now in control over parts of the border with Israel. Here is a video of them observing an Israeli patrol vehicle on the Golan.

The Israelis hopefully are on guard.

In a move that Israel has recently taken, the Muslim Brotherhood Free Syrian Army has declared Lebanon as the nation state responsible for Hizb’Allah. The Shia Islamist group has been the real rulers of the once Christian nation. They have used its territory to stage attacks in support of Assad. However, they have bitten off more than  they can chew. The FSA (Free Syrian Army) along with their Syrian al-Qaeda allies (al Nusra Front) have the bloodied the Hezzies  in combat. Now they are warning hat it will be considered a state vs. state war.

The Free Syrian Amy said that the conflict they have with Hezbollah, which is allegedly fighting against them in Syria, has now grown into hostility against all of Lebanon.

“[Our problem] today has become with Lebanon as a state, it is no longer solely with Hezbollah. It has… turned into an Arab, regional and international issue,” the Anadolu Turkish news agency quoted the FSA as saying in a statement released on Tuesday evening.

The statement also warned that the “future” of the Lebanese-Syrian border “is at risk… in case the attacks on Syrian territory and civilians do not stop.”

The Muslim Brotherhood and al-Qaeda Jihadists view Lebanon as part of Bilal al-Sham (Greater Syria). Hizb’Allah is their pretext to seize territory they believe belongs to heir emerging Caliphate.

In one of the biggest victory of the Syrian War, al-Qaeda (the al-Nusra Front) has captured the provincial capital Raqa in Northern City. This is the first major city city in Syria captured entirely by al-Qaeda or the Muslim Brotherhood (FSA).  In celebrating their victory a statue of Hafez al Assad was torn down.

After days of fierce clashes, the rebels were now in “near-total control” of Raqa, “except for some regime positions, including the military security and Baath Party headquarters,” the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.

The Syrian province of Raqa will be freed of regime forces in the coming two days, the director of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights told NOW.

“When the city of Al-Tabaqa was freed, we said that within a few weeks the district of Raqa would be the first to be completely freed from Syrian troops, and we will see this happen within the coming 48 hours,” Abdel Rahman added.

In retaliation for the Iraqi Army’s attacks on al-Nusra positions in Syria, the Islamic terror group launched a deadly attack killing wounded Syrian soldiers being transported in Iraq.

And in Iraq, the prime minister’s spokesperson said unidentified armed men ambushed a convoy carrying Syrian soldiers who had entered via the Yaarubiyeh border crossing, the site of weekend fighting, killing 48 Syrian and nine Iraqi soldiers.

“This confirms our fears of the attempt of some to move the conflict to Iraq, but we will face these attempts by all sides with all of our power,” Ali Mussawi, Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki’s spokesperson, told AFP.

The Syrian war is blessing to anti-Islamists. Nothing better than having evil factions kill each other.

The Syrian branch of al-Qaeda, the al-Nusra Front has won a  symbolic victory over Assad’s forces in Alleppo. They have seized the historic Umayyad Mosque.

Rebels seized control of the Umayyad Mosque in Syria’s second city of Aleppo on Thursday after days of fierce clashes that damaged the historic building, a watchdog reported.

Regime troops were forced to withdraw at dawn, taking up positions in buildings around the landmark structure, said the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

I wonder what Obama has to say about al-Qaeda being decimated?
