Blogmocracy in Action

Guest Blogger: The Osprey

Plaasmoorde:  In the Dutch derived Afrikaans language it means farm murder. Since the end of the Afrikaner dominated apartheid government in South Africa and the rise to power of Nelson Mandela’s ANC in 1994, roughly 3000 white farmers and their families, who produce the bulk of the food in South Africa, have been murdered by black criminal gangs, with the greatest number these murders occurring since 2001. These horrific murders, often of the elderly and children, many of which involve extreme torture of the victims, have been largely ignored by the Western liberal press, who have invested much intellectual and emotional capital in portraying the  post-apartheid South Africa as a multicultural paradise.

No one has yet been able to prove the farm murders are sanctioned directly by the ANC government, but the  South African Police Services appear unable or unwilling to contain them.  Julius Malema,  leader of the ANC Youth League and confidant of Zimbabwe’s murderous dictator Robert Mugabe, is focusing the anger of unemployed black youth away from the economic failures of the ANC’s Marxist policies and onto the whites.  Mugabe is infamous for his purges of white farmers in the former Rhodesia, which has led to the collapse of large scale agriculture in Zimbabwe and widespread starvation. Malema seems to want South Africa to follow the same path. Although he has been censured by the ANC’s leadership for leading his mobs in the chants of  “Kill the Boer- kill the farmer” and “One white infant, one bullet” he continues to do so. Western progressives like the  Irish rock band leader Bono make excuses for Malema, with Bono claiming that the “Kill the Boer” chant is merely the black South African “struggle song” equivalent of the Irish rebel songs  his granddad sang in a pub in Dublin. For this Bono was criticized by Afrikaner musician Steve Hofmeyer  during U2’s recent tour of South Africa. Hofmeyer, an actor and popular singer in the Afrikaans language has been in the forefront of activism to expose the farm murders and the marginalization of the Afrikaans language in schools by the ANC.

Jewish South African exile writer Ilana Mercer in a recent radio interview has pointed out the power of the chant in Africa to incite mob violence and even genocide as in the case of the Interhamwe in Rwanda where the Hutu mobs chanted “Kill the cockroaches” in reference to their soon to be massacred Tutsi tribal rivals.

Are the whites of South Africa, many of whom have ancestry there dating back to the 1650’s, in danger of genocide? Genocide Watch, an independent international monitoring group based in Washington, DC, has recently raised the threat level toward whites in South Africa to the “preparatory” stage in which a minority population is demonized and elements of the majority population are actively preparing measures to attack them.  And in the European Parliament,  MP’s from parties familiar to Anti-Jihad activists, namely Geert Wilder’s PVV in the Netherlands and the Vlaams Belang in the Flemish region of  Belgium, have decided to  boycott  a “Climate Change” conference in Durban, saying that the political climate in South Africa fostered by the likes of Malema is far more threatening than any illusory “global warming”. During his visit to the European Parliament, PVV and Vlaams Belang delivered a message to South Africa’s President Jacob Zuma that the farm murders and other anti-white violence in South Africa must be stopped  or they would work to cut off all EU aid to Africa.

Meanwhile, the Boers are not taking this lying down. Although the old “rural commando” system was dismantled in 1994, the farmers in some areas are starting their own security patrols, and despite more restrictive firearms laws put in place by the ANC, are apparently able to acquire some weapons.  As the devoutly Protestant Boers said during their 1890’s conflict with the British, “Vertrou in God en die Mauser” “Trust in God and the Mauser” – a sentiment that many of us American “bitter clingers” would certainly find agreement with. What remains to be seen is if saner heads than Malema’s will prevail among the ANC, or if the passing of Nelson Mandela will result in a Rwanda style attack on the white population as many fear.

Israel is not the only tiny beleaguered nation under threat of extinction. Their former Cold War allies, the Afrikaners, are as well.

Below are some scenes from “War of the Flea”, a documentary about the farm murders that was shown in the European parliament by Vlaams Belang MP Philip Claeys, a news report on the rural patrols and excerpts from a press conference with Dr. Gregory Stanton of Genocide Watch and the Transvaal Agricultural Union, a farmers organization in South Africa.
