I have no problem profiling criminals. If you dress like one, act like one, happen to be roaming around in the dark peering into windows like one, it makes a lot of sense for the authorities to stop and question you, even if you’re a law-abiding citizen.
On the other hand, if the authorities stop and question EVERYONE (like they do in security lines, looking for any small infraction in order to avoid charges of profiling, well that’s something else entirely, and it’s entirely disturbing to me. (“You haf ze toenail kleeperse, ya? Hant me ze kleeperse, zen ze paperse, undt follow me.”)
