Obama being pressured to act on “Gay Rights”

Barack Obama is coming from increased pressure from “Gay Rights” activists. They feel he is being too slow in enacting their agenda. They want Hate Crimes Bill and host of other “rights”.

Obama pressed to engage on gay issues

President Obama was noticeably silent last month when the Iowa Supreme Court overturned the state’s ban on same-sex marriage.

But now Mr. Obama — who has said he opposes same-sex marriage as a Christian but describes himself as a “fierce advocate of equality” for gay men and lesbians — is under pressure to engage on a variety of gay issues that are coming to the fore amid a dizzying pace of social, political, legal and legislative change.

If Gays are American citizens then they have the same constitutional rights we do. This is just another way for the Left to continue its assault on our Traditional Judeo-Christian/Greco-Roman Culture. The Militant Gay groups wants to be treated as special and have extra rights than us. they are only 3-5% of the population yet want to impose their way on us. This explains their alliance with the Islamo-Fascists, they have a common enemy.

My take on the Gay issue is this, I don’t support the Gay lifestyle. However, if they do not break any laws I believe in leaving them alone. I am against Gay Marriage, but open to Civil Unions for benefits and legal matters between a couple. However I am against Hate Crimes bill because then it is creating new laws for a group of people. This is unconstitutional for me. We all should be treated equal, not some more than others.

California Courts Begin Hearings On “Prop. 8”

Scores of people lined up this morning outside the California Supreme Court building in San Francisco, hoping for a seat in the chambers as the justices hear arguments on whether the voter-approved state constitutional amendment, “Prop 8“, should be overturned.

prop-8-2SAN FRANCISCO (FoxNews.com)—  California Supreme Court justices heard arguments Thursday on lawsuits seeking to overturn the state’s voter-approved ban on same-sex nuptials as thousands demonstrated outside the courthouse.

Gay rights advocates are urging the court to overturn Proposition 8 on the grounds it was put before voters improperly, or at least prematurely.

The measure’s sponsors argue the ballot initiative was approved correctly and it would be a miscarriage of justice for the court to overturn the results of a fair election.

The ballot initiative, which passed with 52 percent of the vote in November, changed the California Constitution to trump last year’s 4-3 Supreme Court decision that held that denying same-sex couples the right to wed was an unconstitutional civil rights violation.

The Supreme Court is hearing arguments on three points: is Proposition 8 invalid because it constitutes a revision of, rather than an amendment to, the California Constitution; does it violate the separation of powers doctrine under the California Constitution; and if it’s not unconstitutional, what is its effect, if any, on the marriages of same-sex couples performed before the adoption of Proposition 8?

Minutes into the proceedings, the justices peppered lawyer Shannon Minter, arguing for gay rights advocates, with tough questions over how the 14 words of Proposition 8 represent a revision of the state’s constitution.

Outside, gay marriage rights supporters and opponents held signs lobbying the justices to take their side.

Think Progress always defends Islam. They are silent on how Gays are treated in Islamic nation and seek to silence those that expose Islam. The Catholic Church is open season at Think Progress. They now bash the Catholics over their opposition to a bill that would open the door to Gay Marriage worldwide.

Vatican criticized for opposing UN decriminaliztion of homosexuality

Here are the Catholic bashing comments:

lokidog Says:
Of course the Vatican is disappointed.
They were hoping for the decriminalization of child molestation.

49erDem Says:

Catholics had a lot to do with the passage of Prop 8 in California. Here’s an idea for a new proposition: since there have been, ummm, problems with Catholic priests and children, let’s change the California consitution to read that Catholic priests must stay a minimum of 100 ft away from children at all times.Catholics: you wouldn’t argue with “the will of the majority” would you?
