Faux protester Robert Stephens hamming it up for the media
Faux protester Robert Stephens hamming it up for the media

In response to Nation of Change

(see [link] and [link])

I saw one kid being interviewed who said he wanted to bring down capitalism. When asked, “replaced with what?” the kid had a blank look on his face.

This is the kind of anarchy the world saw in 1917, with the Bolsheviks, that brought on over 65 years of pure misery for the Russian people. Will we be next?

It was Lenin who called idiots like this, “Useful idiots.”

Sparta

Typical! Yes, such a poor kid!

I saw this on Glenn Beck’s free newsletter:

The Best Progressive Fail You’ve Ever Seen

In part:

The iconic protester of the Days of Rage protests so far has clearly been the dopey kid who got on his knees in the middle of the street and screamed at the bank for ‘taking’ his parents home. Only one problem – they aren’t taking his home. And his parents both hold Master’s degrees. And the $500,000 home has only $60,000 left on it. And the kid is in an exclusive law school. Where is the oppression exactly?

Liberal Protestor Chokes on Silver Spoon in (False) Protest

Robert Stephens graduated from Carleton College (average cost: $42,942/year) in 2010 and now studies law at The George Washington University Law School (average cost: $70,449/year). His father has a Ph.D. and two master’s degrees; his mother also has a master’s degree. Only in America could a kid have been blessed with so much… and only in America could he still claim to be a victim. America’s capitalist society has apparently leveled a grave injustice against his family and Robert will not stand for it.

Stephens — who identifies his personal political philosophy as Bolivian socialism — made a trip to New York City this weekend to participate in the “Days of Rage” march on Wall Street. He was arrested Saturday when he refused police requests to get up and out of the way of traffic in the street.

In his emotional “rage,” Stephens told the sympathetic Socialist/Marxist/Anarchist crowd how an eeeeeevil Wall Street bank had taken his parents’ home away from them…

The radical leftists chanting their anti-American slogans on Wall Street are the epitome of Lenin’s ‘useful idiots.’ They’re idiotic not only because many of them have no idea of what they’re doing, but because they’re contributing to their own destruction. The father of lies certainly sees them as useful idiots. Satan is laughing with delight that they are so incredibly stupid that they’re helping him destroy America, the greatest national stumbling block to his rule over the entire earth…

A true friend of Israel

For those on the Left who claim that the only reason why Evangelicals  support Israel is to convert the Jews, I say – Even if it is true (which it is not) – so what? that is like not being grateful to the guy who returned your lost dog because he did so for the money! Glenn Beck is not always my cup of tea but he is doing a wonderful thing.

by Michael D. Evans

Jerusalem never did like Jeremiah. The prophet was threatened and attacked by his own brothers, was beaten up at the order of a priest in the Temple and was imprisoned by the king – all for delivering the word of God that people did not want to hear.

A modern-day Jeremiah has had to contend with the equivalent. The liberal-leftist media in Israel has stooped to a new low in demonizing Glenn Beck before his “Restoring Courage” rallies in Caesarea and Jerusalem. Their false statements abounded, such as those concerning his relationship with his former Fox network.

[…]

Israelis may not be too familiar with Beck, but they should know that a Gallup poll last year found that more Americans admired him than admired the pope. The same poll found Beck more admired than Billy Graham, Bill Gates, Bill Clinton and George H. W. Bush. Beck did come in a close second behind Nelson Mandela.

Another specious charge by the liberal-Left media cabal was that Senator Joe Lieberman decided not to participate in “Restoring Courage” due to so-called ideological reasons. In fact, a family crisis made it impossible for the senator to attend.

This kind of low-grade reporting just shows how Israel has been living in the media stone age for far too long. Instead of repeating Abba Eban’s quip about the Palestinians never missing an opportunity to miss an opportunity, Israel’s information apparatus should wake up to the fact that it is the one missing one opportunity after another.

[…]

No Christian has ever risked more of his reputation and resources, or put his life on the line to the degree that Glenn Beck has for Israel. How dumb can the liberal-Left media be? Beck is seen and heard on more than 2,000 TV and radio stations and via 16 satellites.

The main event of “Restoring Courage” took place on Wednesday night. It was a worldwide media event viewed by more than 1,000 viewing parties in more than 60 countries. These include the UK, Belgium, Brazil, China, France, Hungary, Russia, South Africa, South Korea, Thailand and Vietnam. Expressions of support have come in from across the US political spectrum, including Lieberman, publisher Mort Zuckerman and Texas Governor Rick Perry.

Thanks to Beck, you can be sure that this worldwide audience got a rare glimpse at the beauty of Israel. Aside from restoring courage, events like this are what both religious and secular Israelis pray for: golden opportunities to promote tourism, to encourage the world to buy Israeli products, and see the kind and loving nation that actually lives here, unlike the image that anti-Semites like to promote.

You might wonder who is pulling the strings when such a man as Glenn Beck is so persecuted. Perhaps his own Via Dolorosa is connected to another street – J Street.

As a speaker at two “Restoring Courage” events, I had something to say from the evangelical point of view. But it was a Jewish speaker, Rabbi Shlomo Riskin of Efrat, who simply and eloquently described Beck as “a deeply patriotic American, a true friend of Israel.”

He expressed what I would like to think are the true feelings of Israelis. “We are not alone,” Riskin said. “We are profoundly grateful for your courage to love us and stand with us.”

The Left-liberal media like to point out how Beck is often overcome with emotion to the point of weeping. Well, even though Jeremiah was called the “weeping prophet” because of his lamentations, he also gave Israel a positive message, in Jeremiah 29:11: “For I know the plans that I have for you… declares the Lord,” plans for your welfare and not for disaster, to give you a future and hope.

Beck and Israel

I followed a link to Haaretz yesterday (thanks Nevergiveup) and was taken aback by the amount of anti-Glenn Beck articles. The comments put the articles to shame with the Beck derangement. I mean, I know the man isn’t perfect but someone who is fighting for your country and it’s survival is not your enemy. I just don’t get it.

Alan Dershowitz had an article on that very thing. Nice read.

Should Israel Welcome Glenn Beck’s Support?

All decent people, whether on the left or the right, should support Israel’s right to exist as the democratic nation state of the Jewish people. All decent people should support Israel’s right to defend its civilians from terrorist attacks. All reasonable people should favor a just peace that assures Israel’s ability to thrive in a dangerous neighborhood and to defend its borders.

These issues should not divide decent people along ideological or political lines. Israel’s existence and right to defend itself should be bipartisan issues, not only in the United States, but in all democratic countries of the world.

The reality, however, is very different. The Jewish state is demonized by the hard left in America, by virtually the entire left in much of Europe, and by most of the left and right in Ireland, Norway and Sweden. Its right to exist is denied by a high proportion of Arabs and Muslims, and most of the Arab and Muslim nations do not have diplomatic relations with Israel.

At a time when old friends and allies who should be supporting the Jewish state are abandoning it in droves, Beck’s willingness to stand up for Israel must be accepted with gratitude. I, for one, do not question his motives. I believe they are genuine. One need not accept all of Beck’s positions on Israel—and I certainly do not—in order to agree with him that support of Israel is one of the great moral issues of the 21st Century.

Those who thoughtlessly attack Israel no matter what it does and thoughtlessly defend Israel’s enemies regardless of what they do, are making peace far more difficult. They incentivize terrorism by Israel’s enemies and disincentivizes compromise on all sides.

I will wait to hear precisely what Glenn Beck says during his visit to Israel before I evaluate it. Just as I feel free to criticize the Israeli government when I think it is wrong, I certainly feel free to criticize defenders of Israel when I think they are wrong. But I will not prejudge Beck until he is given a full opportunity to express his views.

That would be nice.

Herman Cain? A POLITICIAN?

You know what they say: “If something sounds too good to be true, it usually is.” Such, it seems, may be the case with GOP Presidential candidate Herman Cain. He got a lot of people excited when he became a name to watch and winning the recent debate in South Carolina…but he’s reversed his position regarding Mohammedans in his cabinet.
But first, let’s go back to his words he uttered in March…caught on video:

And now? On Glenn Beck’s radio show:

“That statement is not what I said. It has been misconstrued.”

According to the Daily Caller, Cain further “clarified”:

“I immediately said – without thinking – ‘No, I would not be comfortable,’ I did not say that I would not have them in my cabinet. If you look at my career, I have hired good people regardless of race, religion, sex gender, orientation and this kind of thing.”

How can this excuse wash away what he said in the first place? Like so many before him, Herman Cain has fallen under the spell that Islam is a Religion of Peace™ just to get elected. VERY Disappointing!
