A few days ago I posted the question: Would anyone want to help support the Republican candidate in Hawaii running for the U.S. Congress, Hawaii 1st District? I’d like to follow up with a little background on the attitude held by the Democrats here and then provide some information about the Republican who is challenging the status quo.
Democrat U.S. Senator Daniel Inouye currently serves as the senior United States Senator from Hawaii. He has been a U.S. Senator since 1963 and, following the death of Ted Kennedy, is currently the second most senior member after fellow Democrat, Robert Byrd.
Democrat U.S. Senator Daniel Akaka was appointed by Democrat Governor John Waihee to the U.S. Senate in April 1990 to serve temporarily after the death of Democrat Senator Spark Matsunaga, and sworn into office on May 16, 1990. That’s one Democratic Senator in power for 47 years and the other for 20 years.
Democrat Tax and Spend Niel Abercrombie has been U.S. Congressman, Hawaii 1st District since 1991. Only one Republican has ever held this seat.
Democrat Mazie Hirono has been U.S. Congressman, Hawaii 2nd District since 2006.
Democrat Hawaii State Senate President Colleen Hanabusa opened her campaign office Jan 10, 2010 in her run for U.S. Congress 1st District, the seat being vacated by Niel Abercrombie so he can run for Governor of Hawaii.
At the opening of Hanabusa’s campaign headquarters, Inouye, the state’s leading Democrat, praised her skill as a labor attorney and Senate president and described her as a politician who keeps her word.
“Colleen is my kind of gal*, and I want all of you to go all out to support her.” (*sexist? you decide)
Senator Akaka, as if to remind the audience of Inouye’s power and influence, said: “Daniel K. Inouye has spoken.”
“Inouye has spoken!” It’s a slam dunk for the Democrats. The media here is treating it as a given that another Democrat will win this election and the “Good Old Boy” network will continue grinding out its agenda and sending Pork to Hawaii.
Charles Djou represents the area from Waikiki to Hawaii Kai on the Honolulu City Council. Before entering the City Council, Charles served in the Hawaii State House where he was the Minority Floor Leader. Charles has spent most of his life in Hawaii. Charles graduated from Punahou School (Obama’s alma mater) and earned both a B.A. in Political Science and a B.S. in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School of Finance and Commerce, graduating magna cum laude with distinction. Charles earned his law degree from the University of Southern California law school.
Outside of the City Council, Charles serves as an officer in the U.S. Army Reserve. Charles also practices as an attorney specializing in business law and teaches at the University of Hawaii’s William S. Richardson School of Law.
Charles is also a member of the Hawaii Republican Party, where he previously served as Vice Chair. Charles’ surname “Djou” is a misspelled French translation of his Chinese surname “Zhou.”
My favorite quote from Charles:
I have never voted for a tax increase. You are a better steward of your money and can do more for the economy than the government.” Charles Djou is for a fiscally responsible government. Something we all know the Democrats avoid. The Democrats are ignoring any possibility of a Republican winning this election. It is “Their Seat” to own.
I’m asking again, Do you want to help send to the U.S. Congress a fiscally responsible Republican who is strong on national defense, aggressive on fighting terrorism, and wants to reduce the size and cost of government? The Democrats think they own this seat in Congress. They believe they are in complete control here in Hawaii. You can help send a Republican to Congress by sending money to Charles’ campaign via his web site. You can spread the word that the State of Hawaii does not belong to the Democratic Party. We can have another state send a message to Obama that the United States of America is a Republic, “of the People, by the People, for the People!” Hawaiians don’t serf! (But we do surf.)
“Inouye has spoken!”?
The continuing influence of Islamo-Fascism in American politics continues to advance. In the State of Hawaii, the State Senate passed a resolution calling for making Sept 24., 2009 as Islam day.
Hawaii lawmakers back the creation of ‘Islam Day’
HONOLULU – Hawaii’s state Senate overwhelmingly approved a bill Wednesday to celebrate “Islam Day” — over the objections of a few lawmakers who said they didn’t want to honor a religion connected to Sept. 11, 2001.
The Senate‘s two Republicans argued that a minority of Islamic extremists have killed many innocents in terrorist attacks.
“I recall radical Islamists around the world cheering the horrors of 9/11. That is the day all civilized people of all religions should remember,” said Republican Sen. Fred Hemmings to the applause of more than 100 people gathered in the Senate to oppose a separate issue — same-sex civil unions.
The resolution to proclaim Sept. 24, 2009, as Islam Day passed the Senate on a 22-3 vote. It had previously passed the House.
The bill seeks to recognize “the rich religious, scientific, cultural and artistic contributions” that Islam and the Islamic world have made. It does not call for any spending or organized celebration of Islam Day.
Contributions to the world? This has to be a joke, Islam has only brought wars and genocide to humanity. It was the 7th Century Versions of Totalitarianism. If anything Islam has regressed human progress by destroying Indigenous Civilizations and forcing others to constantly be on a war footing.
Why is Islam always treated so special as oppose to other religions? I will never visit Hawaii and give them money. I don not support Dhimmitude with my money. This also goes against the concept of government promoting a religion. Our leaders in America continue to give into 3% of the population. This is another example of special privileges given to a group. Why not have Jewish Day, Catholic Day, Hindu Day or Buddhist Day? These Religions have contributed way more to humanity than Islam ever has.
