Obama doesn’t get Latin America

Barack Hussein Obama was recently in Latin America. When he was there he made the claim that all of Latin America was Democratic. He ignored the oppression of Hugo Chavez and his cronies in Bolivia and Ecuador.

Most curious was Mr. Obama’s decision to simply ignore the fact that in large parts of Latin America, the “shared values” that he said bind the hemisphere are being trampled. In a speech directed to the region that he delivered in Santiago, the president declared that “today, Latin America is democratic” — even though rulers in a number of countries are shutting down media, eliminating judicial independence and rigging elections. He said “Latin America is contributing to global prosperity and security,” even though many of those same rulers are forging ties with Iran and have been defending the regime of Libya’s Moammar Gaddafi.

Mr. Obama mentioned the Inter-American Democratic Charter, which nominally binds the governments of the hemisphere to act against those who commit political abuses, and said “we have to speak out when we see those principles violated.” Yet he himself did not speak out. Not once during his tour did he mention Venezuela, Nicaragua, Ecuador or Bolivia or their increasingly autocratic rulers.

Clearly Arabs are more important than Latins to Obama. Why is he so obsessed with Libya,  yet is silent about Hugo Chavez and his cronies? The answer is, he supports the Bolivarians, since they are 3rd World Liberation Ideologues. He could care less about our own hemisphere.

Ancient Aliens:The Hugo Chavez Edition

The Ancient Alien theory has a prominent believer. None other that South American 3rd World Liberation Liberation thug, Hugo Chavez. He makes the claim that there was once was life on Mars. Hugo then claims that life on that planet was destroyed due to Capitalism and Imperialism.

CARACAS (Reuters) – Capitalism may be to blame for the lack of life on the planet Mars, Venezuela’s socialist President Hugo Chavez said on Tuesday.

“I have always said, heard, that it would not be strange that there had been civilization on Mars, but maybe capitalism arrived there, imperialism arrived and finished off the planet,” Chavez said in speech to mark World Water Day.

Hugo Chavez doesn’t explain where he got this information of Capitalism and Imperialism arriving on Mars. Who brought it there and where did the Martians go? Hugo doesn’t explain his Ancient Alien capitalism theory. Maybe he will get a History Chanel special explaining his theory.

In the meantime, Hugo Chavez has another song to entertain us with.

Here’s another song he does.

I know an unemployed Californian Jazz guitarist Hugo can hire to help him with songs.

Update: Here is another clip of Chavez singing for a crowd on Christmas Eve.

Hugo, please hire the unemployed California Jazz Guitarist!

Chavez urges squatters to take property

Obama’s idol, Venezuelan Progressive Hugo Chavez, has now taken spread the wealth to a new level. He is urging refugees from the recent devastating floods in Venezuela, to take over “unused land”. This is an outright seizure of private property and a disrespect for the concept of rule of law. This is organized government stealing and very disturbing.

Hugo Chávez has sent out troops to take over farms and urged the poor to occupy “unused” land in wealthy areas of Caracas, prompting a wave of squats that is rattling Venezuela‘s middle class.

The move by Venezuela’s president to step up the campaign to “recover” land and other property follows a housing crisis that has left millions of people in shabby conditions and affected his popularity in the run-up to next year’s election.

Squatters wearing red T-shirts from Chávez’s socialist party seized 20 spaces in a co-ordinated strike in the well-off Caracas municipality of Chacao last weekend, a move which shocked even some government supporters. Additional groups have targeted other cities.

Barack Hussein Obama is probably blushing with envy at what Hugo Chavez is doing. This is very disturbing and I fear it will give American Progressives some ideas.

Hillary and Chavez get chummy in Brazil

Barack Hussein Obama and Hugo Chavez are following the long standing tradition of Progressives turning on each other. In recent days, Chavez has refused to approve Larry Palmer to be the US ambassador to Venezuela. His pretext is that Palmer dishonored Venezuela by mentioning that Colombian rebels have been given refuge there. In retaliation, Obama revoked the Venezuelan ambassador’s visa. Tensions are high between the them over this, or so you would think.

Hillary Clinton was at the inauguration of the Ex Marxist guerrilla and new Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff. Hugo Chavez spotted her and went up and shook her hand. They then had a 5 minute chummy conversation!

Despite a simmering diplomatic row, President Hugo Chavez and US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton were seen having a brief, friendly chat Saturday at the inauguration of Brazil’s President Dilma Rousseff.

“They talked and smiled, at least for five minutes. It looked like a social conversation, both were smiling,” a Brazilian official who witnessed the encounter told AFP on condition of anonymity.

The encounter came only three days after the United States revoked the visa of Venezuela’s ambassador in Washington, in reprisal for Chavez’s rejection of the US president’s appointed ambassador to Caracas.

But Chavez and Clinton were all smiles as they mingled with the presidents of Chile and Colombia and the prime minister of Portugal while waiting to meet Rousseff.

This makes me very suspicious of this crisis. It’s very possible this is a manufactured crisis to benefit both Presidents. Obama recently suffered a set back in the recent mid term elections. The Venezuelan opposition made gains in recent congressional elections and Chavez’s has used a flood crisis to make a power grab to circumvent the Congress. Obama also is making a power grab by allowing the EPA to impose Cap-n-Trade and death panels via Medicare. An external crisis helps both! Obama looks tough and Chavez is standing up to the Americans.

Interesting parallels, isn’t it?

There is a difference between Barack Hussein Obama and Hugo Chavez. At least Hugo sings!
