Venezuelan Opposition sees opening against Hugo Chavez

President Barack Hussein Obama is not the only Totalitarian Progressive leader in trouble. His one time ally now rival, Venezuelan Dictator Hugo Chavez, is in political danger. His Progressive policies have bankrupted the oil rich nation, caused food shortages and even blackouts. Hugo has seized property and nationalized industries. In response, the entrepreneur class has fled to Colombia or America thus depriving the nation of their economic innovation. His saber rattling with Colombia failed as Venezuelans, despite rivalry with its neighbors, don’t want to fight their Latin brothers. Latin America is shifting Right, thus rejecting his Bolivarian Progressive Movement. In short, Hugo is now fighting for his political life for the 1st time since the failed 2002 Coup.

(CNN) — An energy crisis in oil-rich Venezuela is putting pressure on President Hugo Chavez and that — with protests over media regulation and falling oil output — is opening the door for a possible political shift, an opposition activist said.

“We can win if we present the right candidates, and if we go knowing that this is David against Goliath, because that’s what the show for an election in Venezuela (is) going to be,” Leopoldo Lopez, a former district mayor of Caracas, Venezuela, told CNN’s Christiane Amanpour on Wednesday.

The opposition hopes to take advantage of the pressure facing Chavez by tapping into key constituencies such as students, community leaders and union leaders, Lopez said.

The Transnationalist Totalitarian Progressive Movement is on the ropes internationally. In America, Barack Hussein Obama’s agenda is being rejected by the public. The Global Warming lie has been exposed and the UN Climate Chief has resigned. The Honduran people rejected Obama and Chavez’s bullying and elected a new president. After spending most the 2000’s on the offense in cahoots with their Islamo-Imperialists buddies, they are on the retreat. 2010 could well be a repeat of 1989, the last time another Progressive Movement collapsed. Hopefully history repeats itself and we rid ourselves of this poisonous Ideology which has infected humanity since the Jacobins and the French Revolution.

US Continues to Ignore its Backyard

One of my biggest criticisms of US foreign policy has been it’s Bi-Partisan obsession with the Middle East. This is largely due to Saudi/Gulf States Oil interests that have infiltrated Washington and their poisonous effect. Another aspect is the Progressive anti-Semitic obsession against Israel. In their warped mind, Israel is the center of all the world’s ill. A small nation with a population of 7 Million is somehow responsible for AIDS, world hunger, cancer and global warming. Their solution is the dismemberment of Israel and giving it to the Dar AL Islam. The Saudis paws are all over this as they hate Israel and are funding many of these so called peace groups.

The result of this obsession with that far away part of the world, has been America neglecting it’s back yard. Latin America and the Caribbean are much closer to home and have more effect on our security. Hugo Chavez and his Bolivarian Progressive movement is floundering, Mexico is in near anarchy and Brazil is now an economic power. All this is happening, yet you hear nothing about it.

While pundits called President Obama on his failure to mention Israel and the Palestinian problem in last week’s State of the Union Address, a far greater omission went ignored: Latin America.

Aside from one fleeting reference (to Colombia and free trade), the closest Obama came geographically was a rhetorical jaunt to the Caribbean to note the disaster in Haiti.

Mexico is battling a full-blown narco-insurgency right on our border. In Venezuela, President Hugo Chavez is constructing a vicious dictatorship. Argentina’s stumbling toward a government crisis. While we were napping, Brazil became a great power.

Col. Ralph Peters’ analysis is spot on. He is a Military thinker and looks at geography. The fact is Latin America and the Caribbean are the two most vital areas to America’s security. It is close to home and is our southern flank. We have been neglecting it at our own peril. But as is mentioned in the article, China is moving in. They are signing trade agreements and giving out loans to various countries. This is buying them friends in these nations, which is our sphere of influence. Why are we neglecting our own continent?

America needs to wake up out of it’s Bi-Partisan Middle East delusion and realize that Saudis are not our friends and Israel is not the center of the world’s problems. This delusion is draining our attention from our own backyard. Mexico is in anarchy, yet very little of it is discussed. We know more about Afghan villages filled with pedophiles than Mexican border towns controlled by ruthless drug cartels. Phoenix is now the top kidnapping city in the nation. This a result of our inattention to what is important: our own neighborhood. This is dangerous and could come back to haunt us.

The tradition continues. Today I am once again drinking San Miguel Beer. I have previously featured this beer and decided to make that the brew for the night. I really enjoy it’s taste and how it doesn’t make you feel bloated.

Today is a Stay in Cheesy ScyFy Channel Saturday movie day for me.

Discuss any topic on this thread. Baseball, Basketball, Football, Lady Gaga, Barack Hussein Obama, Chris Matthews, Nancy Pelosi, Progressives, George Soros, Bill Gates, Obscure Jazz Guitarists, Glenn Beck, Caprica and District 9 can all be discussed as well with whatever you like.

Here is a New video of Hugo Chavez singing again!

The Collapse of Hugo Chavez’s Bolivarian Progressivism – Update: Socialist gathering in Brazil

by Phantom Ace ( 120 Comments › )

Hugo Chavez’s vision of a Progressive controlled Latin America under his Bolivarian Movement is collapsing. In Honduras the people rejected his puppet Zelaya. He has devalued the currency and there are power outages in Venezuela. Chavez is is claiming the US used a weapon to cause the Haitian Earthquake. Like his fellow Progressives and former ally Barack Hussein Obama, his reality is collapsing.

While the world has been preoccupied with the crisis in Haiti, Latin America has quietly passed through a tipping point in the ideological conflict that has polarized the region — and paralyzed U.S. diplomacy — for most of the past decade.

The result boils down to this: Hugo Chávez’s “socialism for the 21st century” has been defeated and is on its way to collapse.

Progressivism is a failed ideology. Hugo Chavez’s Bolivarian is just the latest incarnation of this evil anti-human movement. It will enter the dust bin of history as Nazism and  Stalinism. Hopefully Obama’s New left Progressivism will also be rejected. Hugo and Obama are both same sides of the same coin. We must prevent America into becoming like Venezuela.

Update: In related Latin American Progressive news, there is a Tranzi gathering in Brazil.

PORTO ALEGRE, Brazil – Leftists are pouring into town to rail against freewheeling capitalism during the World Social Forum, gleefully cheering the humbling of bankers and business titans by the global economic meltdown.

The Progressives are celebrating economic hard times. This shows their inhumane nature, they are enjoying people suffering. This is the Cloward-Piven strategy on a global scale. Progressives hate humanity and this is just more evidence.
