The amount of blatant Antisemitism displayed openly on ABC’s “The View” regarding Chassidic Jews, is simply shocking!  I would never have imagined that I would witness such disgusting stereotypes, closed-mindedness, and mischaracterizations regarding Jews on National television in my life.  It is truly a shame.

If there is no public outrage over these comments, it will say a lot about the values of America today.  I’m not holding my breath.

Please Contact ABC and “The View“* and let them know that this type of disgusting behavior will not be tolerated! (*I am not sure that is the correct place to contact “The View” but it was the only one I could find*)

For the record, a levirate marriage (yibum in Hebrew) occurs when a husband dies and leaves his wife childless. The Torah says that rather than the wife having no place to go, the husband’s brother should marry the wife. But the Torah itself gives another solution with a ceremony called chalitza in which the wife removes her brother in law’s shoe if for any reason he does not want to marry her. And the Talmud already said nearly 2000 years ago that the brother in law should not marry her when it is inappropriate and that today it is never appropriate and chalitza should always be practiced.
