Reports from the Gazan side say Israel has cut Gaza into 3. This is good news and Israel can deal with each pocket in detail.

Report: IDF divides Gaza Strip into 3

Palestinians say Israeli army cut off different parts of Strip in bid to prevent transfer of arms, report of extensive activity in former settlement of Netzarim. Thousands of Israeli soldiers fight Hamas within Palestinian territory. Overnight ground fighting leaves 20 soldiers hurt in mortar attack

“We defeated them, Am Israel Chai (the Jewish people live)”, said an injured soldier Saturday night, gesturing a Victory Sign with his hand as he entered an Israeli hospital after being injured in combat in the Gaza Strip.

But his comrades and the Israel Defense Forces and government elite, who were convening Sunday morning at the Kirya army base in Tel Aviv, know perfectly well that the battle has only just begun.

This is good news. I hope the IDF keeps its fight going against the Jihadists.

Islamist Tariq Ramadan aclles fro Muslims to unite against israel.

Often called a Moderate, Euro-Jihadist: Tariq Ramadan calls for Muslims to unite against Israel.

An alliance of values

Listening to the feelings expressed by Muslims around the world one gets a sentiment of anger and revolt mixed with a deep sense of helplessness. The current massacres are but a confirmation of the well-known: the “international community” does not really care about the Palestinians, and it is as if the state of Israel, with the support of the US and some European countries, has imposed a state of intellectual terror. Among the presidents and kings, nobody dares to speak out; nobody is ready to say the truth. All are paralysed by fear.

While the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is sometimes perceived, and experienced, as critical to the relationship between the west and Islam, many Muslims no longer know how to react. Is it a pure political conflict? What does Islam have to do with it? Should we make it an Islamic concern to call upon the ummah?

Some Moderate he is. Calling for the ummah to unite. He sounds no different than a jihadists. He just wears a suit and tie. He is Islamo-Fascism with a friendly face.

Hams is calling up its reserves. This is in preparation for the ground assault.

Hamas calls ‘reservists’ to foil attack

Hamas’s armed wing, Izaddin Kassam, on Monday announced that it was recruiting an additional 1,000 militiamen ahead of a possible IDF ground operation in the Gaza Strip.

The group said that thousands of volunteers from the Gaza Strip had also asked to be recruited to the movement in the past 48 hours so that they could fight against IDF soldiers.

The announcement came as sources close to Hamas said that the movement’s armed wing had hardly been affected by the IDF operation that began on Saturday.

The IDF better be serious and hit hard.

Another Pallywood Production?

Associated Press Palestinian photographer Khalil Hamra seems to be the AP’s inside man when it comes to pictures of Hamas and Islamic Jihad, and this photo (shown below) that he filed yesterday has all the marks of being staged. Were these apparently unhurt children deliberately arranged on a stretcher next to a wounded man for propaganda purposes? Notice that the caption is vague about whether the children are injured. Palestinian children and a man wounded in Israeli missile strikes are seen in the emergency area at Shifa hospital in Gaza City, Saturday, Dec. 27, 2008. Israeli warplanes demolished dozens of Hamas security compounds across Gaza on Saturday in unprecedented waves of simultaneous air strikes. Gaza medics said at least 145 people were killed and more than 310 wounded in the single deadliest day in Gaza fighting in recent memory.
