Nato threatens to bomb Libyan Rebels

It’s getting confusing over in Libya. We were told by the Progressive and pseudo Conservatives that the rebels in Libya were freedom fighters. Even when it was pointed out that they were affiliated with Al-Qaeda and fought Americans in Iraq, we were told to not worry. Well now NATO is threatening the Libyan rebels with attacks if they seek revenge against Qaddafi followers.

Britain has warned Libya’s rebels that Nato is prepared to used military force against the opposition if it wages armed attacks on civilians loyal to Col Muammar Gaddafi, officials said yesterday.

Whitehall officials said that the “same assets” that are currently waging air strikes on Col Gaddafi’s regime and its forces would be unleashed on the rebels should they take revenge on towns and populations that have so far remained under Col Gaddafi’s control.

It is the most explicit warning yet that the international coalition enforcing United Nations 1973 resolution has not written a blank cheque to the rebels as they launch offensives against the regime in Misurata and eastern Libya. But officials said the National Transitional Council (NTC), which represents the rebel movements had given repeated assurances that they would not seek to punish government sympathisers in the aftermath of victory.

“We will protect civilians by all means necessary while the mandate is in force – that applies to everybody,” a government official said. “If the NTC was attacking civilians the mandate would give the international community the grounds to intervene. But we’ve seen no evidence that is likely to happen and the NTC has frequently address the need for reconciliation.”

Didn’t John McCain guarantee these are like our founding fathers? Clearly NATO knows they are backing Islamists or they wouldn’t make this warning.  American participation in this conflict needs to end now. This is not our fight and Americans fight so France and The UK get oil contracts.

The Popular Uprising continues.

Republican House votes to rebuke the Libyan War

Speaker John Boehner finally grew some balls. In a rare rebuke of Obama, the House passed a resolution demdning Obama comply with the war powers act.

Crossing party lines to deliver a stunning rebuke to the commander in chief, the vast majority of the House voted Friday for resolutions telling President Obama he has broken the constitutional chain of authority by committing U.S. troops to the international military mission in Libya.

In two votes — on competing resolutions that amounted to legislative lectures of Mr. Obama— Congress escalated the brewing constitutional clash over whether he ignored the founding document’s grant of war powers by sending U.S. troops to aid in enforcing a no-fly zone and naval blockade of Libya.

The resolutions were non-binding, and only one of them passed, but taken together, roughly three-quarters of the House voted to put Mr. Obama on notice that he must give explain himself or else face future consequences, possibly including having funds for the war cut off.

“He has a chance to get this right. If he doesn’t, Congress will exercise its constitutional authority and make it right,” said House Speaker John A. Boehner, the Ohio Republican who wrote the resolution that passed, 268-145, and sets a two-week deadline for the president to deliver the information the House is seeking.

This is an illegal and unethical war. The House is finally standing up to Obama.

Republican Bill to disapprove Libyan War gathers Momentum

Barack Hussein Obama has clearly violated the War Powers act. Rather than take him to task, Speaker John Boehner and his Eunuchs have bent over and let Obama does what he wants. Now finally a brave Republican is taking a stand against this idiotic intervention. The GOP leadership has postponed a vote, on fears it will pass.

A House Republican is gathering fast support for a resolution expressing disapproval of the U.S. military intervention in Libya, raising the possibility of a rare congressional rebuke of President Obama on foreign policy.

Rep. Michael Turner (R-Ohio) introduced a one-page bill Thursday that says the House “does not approve United States intervention in Libya.” Turner, a member of the Armed Services Committee, has already garnered 63 co-sponsors, he told The Hill, making the legislation a possible alternative to a measure offered by anti-war Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio) that would mandate an immediate withdrawal of U.S. forces.

Rising opposition to the Libyan operation has taken GOP leaders by surprise, and they were forced to scrap a vote on the Kucinich bill on Wednesday over concerns it might have passed.

I salute Rep. Michael Turner (R-Ohio)for bringing this to a vote. It will be symbolic since the President is CIC. However, at least it’;s sending him a message.

NATO decided to attack Libya on the grounds Qaddafi was killing civilians. Well it turns out they are civilians themselves. Recently a NATO airstrike hit a school for disabled children. Luckily there was no kids in those schools at the time. Today they hit the House of Qaddafi’s 29 year old son, killing him and his children. Qaddaf i as visiting the house, so NATO tried to kill him. Instead they killed his son and grandsons.

A Nato air strike in the Libyan capital, Tripoli, has killed the son of the Libyan leader, Colonel Gaddafi, a government spokesman has said.

Colonel Gaddafi himself was in the large residential villa which was hit by the strike, the spokesman added, but he was unharmed.

His son Saif al-Arab was killed, as well as three of his grandsons.

Clearly NATO is trying to kill Qaddafi. All this to help Al-Qaeda and The Muslim Brotherhood.
