Lose Yourself

With the departure of Hank Williams, Jr., ESPN has already selected the music which will precede their Monday Night Football telecast, as the Detroit Lions host the Chicago Bears in an NFC North Division matchup. This will be an exciting game to watch, as The Lions are 4-0 going in.
The video…

And the guy who gets to ask…”Are you ready for some Football?” Why it’s none other than Barry Sanders!

Sanders spilled the beans on Twitter Thursday. As for future MNF games, ESPN spokesman Josh Krulewitz said that “This is the format we’ll likely use the remainder of the season. We haven’t made any decisions beyond that.”
As long-suffering Lions fan and PFT.com contributor Michael David Smith wrote earlier Friday, “Regardless of what you think of Williams’ comments and ESPN’s response to those comments, we can all agree on this: There’s no one better than Barry Sanders to welcome America to football in Detroit.”

Ah yes…He Who QUIT The Lions! Great choice, ESPN!

Florida considers sore loser law

Charlie Crist is a dishonest individual. When he announced he was running for the Republican nomination in the Florida senate race, Crist claimed he would not go independent. When challenged by Marco Rubio and the nomination was out of reach, Crist announced he was leaving the GOP and going Independent. This caused a controversy as many people donated to his campaign because he was a Republican. Donors wanted their money back and it caused Charlie Crist only complied with a  few request.

Due to this event, a Florida Senate committee is now looking at  creating a  sore loser law. This would prevent party affiliated officials who ran in primaries, from running as individuals.

A Florida Senate committee has recommended making it tougher for political candidates to switch or leave parties in mid-campaign, a move spurred by Florida Gov. Charlie Crist’s bolt from the Republican Party to run as an independent for U.S. Senate.

The Florida Senate Ethics and Elections Committee also calls for a “sore-loser statute” that would prohibit party-affiliated candidates who lose a primary from re-entering the race as in independent.

I’m mixed on this law for various reasons. Although I’m for anyone being allowed to run, I don’t like the sore loser concept of sabotaging your own party because you lost the nomination. I really am undecided o9n this subject. I would like to get feed back from the Blog on whether this is good or bad.

Let’s discuss the pros and cons of a sore loser law.

Addendum: Here is an interesting story about a California Rabbi and Tea Party activist who marched at a Pro-Israel/anti-Islamization protest with the English Defense League.

California state senate candidate and Tea Party activist Rabbi Nachum Shifren joined a march organized by the far right group the English Defence League Sunday outside the Israeli Embassy in London. At the march, rally supporters expressed their goal to prevent the “Islamification” of the United Kingdom and show support for the Jewish State.

Shifren, known as the “surfing rabbi,” is running in the November elections to represent the district of west Los Angeles in the state senate.

The EDL invited the Orthodox rabbi to speak about Sharia law in London this month, the Guardian reported two weeks ago.

The fight against the Progressive-Islamic axis is at a global scale.
