This every Saturday after the Saturday Lecture open NCAA thread for those of us watching football and not wanting to soil the respectable threads with cries of ‘Hook ‘em Horns’ or ‘Soooeeeee Piggie!’ and we sure don’t want to run Ralphie through a serious thread! Some of our writers would get really mad. This will be a stickie at the top of the page, its football and open, please see the ‘normal’ yet excellent threads below; get crazy and open two tabs!

Here is week 11’s BCS rankings, brought to you by ESPN…

1 Oregon 9-0
2 Auburn 10-0
3 TCU 10-0
4 Boise State 8-0
5 LSU 8-1
6 Stanford 8-1
7 Wisconsin 8-1
8 Nebraska 8-1
9 Ohio State 8-1
10 Oklahoma State 8-1

.

Alabama lost two this year, so they are out of the chase. I still dont think that Oregon is the best team in the land.

This week’s matchups from ESPN:

12:30 PM ETNo. 24 Kansas State at No. 17 Missouri

3:30 PM ET Georgia at No. 2 Auburn

7:00 PM ETNo. 25 Texas A&M at Baylor

7:15 PM ET No. 19 Mississippi State at No. 12 Alabama

7:15 PM ETNo. 23 South Carolina at No. 22 Florida

Now, some of you heard me complain about the bad officiating at the Steelers versus the Bengals game on Monday night.  I wasn’t being just a home team guy…Here is vindication! :

The Steelers have been informed by the National Football League that two penalties that almost cost them in Monday night’s victory in Cincinnati should not have been called, the Post-Gazette has learned.

Here’s the week 10 BCS ranking:

.

1 Oregon 8-0
2 Auburn 9-0
3 TCU 9-0
4 Boise State 7-0
5 Utah 8-0
6 Alabama 7-1
7 Nebraska 7-1
8 Oklahoma 7-1
9 Wisconsin 7-1
10 LSU 7-1

I’m sorry sports fans, Oregon does not beat Auburn OR Alabama. Meanwhile, Boise State gets ignored. One day there will be a playoff system.

Highlight games form ESPN:

12:30 PM ETNo. 21 Baylor at No. 17 Oklahoma State –that the RANKED Baylor Bears who beat the Longhorns.

3:30 PM ETNo. 6 Alabama at No. 10 LSU –always a great game

3:30 PM ETNo. 3 TCU at No. 5 Utah —this is a big one here.

7:00 PM ETNo. 18 Arkansas at No. 19 South Carolina — SEC streetfight

8:00 PM ETNo. 15 Arizona at No. 13 Stanford — AZ rising in the rankings out of nowhere!

So, grab a beverage of your choice, make some meat on a grill, and lets watch some football.

Today at noon, our local college the Robert Morris University Colonials play Central Connecticut for the right to represent the NEC in the DI-AA playoffs. Kickoff is at noon at Joe Walton Stadium…he is also their coach and founder of the team. Yes, the Joe Walton from the NFL…So, root for the Colonials!
