Senate Democrats to join Republicans in Obama rebuke

Senate Democrats are preparing to join Republicans in passing a resolution in support of Israel. The bill will rebuke Obama’s call to make the 1967 lines the guideline for negotiations. Clearly they are worried about the political implications of Obama’s speech.

Senate Democrats are expected to support a resolution intended as a rebuff to President Obama’s call for basing Middle East peace talks on the 1967 Israeli-Palestinian borders.

It would be a rare rebuke of the president by the upper chamber and a sign that Democrats are worried about the impact of last week’s speech on the U.S.-Israel relationship and pro-Israel constituents.

Democrats in both chambers are scrambling to fix the damage caused when Obama called for the 1967 borders and land swaps as a basis for peace.

If this happens, it will be a big blow to Obama.

The real reason why Obama is formidable in 2012

Barack Hussein Obama is one of the most mediocre Presidents. He doesn’t understand economic reality and supports Islamic causes. Obama is a 3rd World Liberation Ideologue and on paper should be easy to knock off. The reality is he might win re-election anyway. It hasn’t to do with how lame the GOP field is, it’s about one thing: His color.

Many of the Republican presidential hopefuls should be able to beat President Obama in 2012. This president has a track record now and, thus, many vulnerabilities. If he is not our “worst president,” as Donald Trump would have it, his sweeping domestic initiatives—especially his stimulus package and health-care reform—were so jerry-built and high-handed that they generated a virtual revolution in America’s normally subdued middle class.

[….]

The problem Mr. Obama poses for Republicans is that there has always been a disconnect between his actual performance and his appeal. If Hurricane Katrina irretrievably stained George W. Bush, the BP oil spill left no lasting mark on this president. Mr. Obama’s utter confusion in the face of the “Arab spring” has nudged his job-approval numbers down, but not his likability numbers, which Gallup has at a respectable 47.6%. In the mainstream media there has been a willingness to forgive this president his mistakes, to see him as an innocent in an impossible world. Why?

[….]

What gives Mr. Obama a cultural charisma that most Republicans cannot have? First, he represents a truly inspiring American exceptionalism: He is the first black in the entire history of Western civilization to lead a Western nation—and the most powerful nation in the world at that. And so not only is he the most powerful black man in recorded history, but he reached this apex only through the good offices of the great American democracy

This explains why despite a lousy performance. Obama stays in the upper 40’s. It’s because Americans don’t want to vote out the 1st supposed (he’s Mulatto) Black President. The Republicans are scared to go after him with gloves off. If Republicans don’t fight and offer a clear alternative, they will have no one to blame. Take the fight to Obama and ignore calls of racism. People love fighters not pushovers.

The Obama Boom continues to roar! The greatest economic recovery since the rise of the Adromedan Empire 50,000 years ago breaks all records! April durable goods orders declined 3,6%!

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – New orders for long-lasting U.S. manufactured goods recorded their largest decline in six months in April as aircraft and motor vehicle bookings tumbled, pointing to some cooling in factory activity.

The Commerce Department said on Wednesday durable goods orders dropped 3.6 percent, worse than economists’ expectations for a 2.2 percent fall. March’s orders were revised up to 4.4 percent from a 4.1 percent increase.

While durable goods orders are extremely volatile, details of the report were the latest in a series to indicate the economy remains trapped in the soft patch.

The great Obama Boom continues apace!

Iraq strikes Gas deal with Iran

1.4 Trillion dollars, 4,000 dead Americans and 10,000s wounded was spent on Iraq by America. The war divided American society in a way not seen since Vietnam. Luckily, we pulled out a military victory, despite our troops doing nation building. We did this in the name of Democracy. Well that great democracy of Iraq, has inked a natural gas deal with our enemy Iran.

BAGHDAD (AP) — Iraq has signed a tentative deal with Iran to import natural gas to ease its electricity woes, an official said Monday, in a step that deepens economic ties with Tehran as U.S. troops prepare to leave at the end of the year.

Iraq’s government has been struggling to rebuild its war-damaged electricity grid after power shortages last summer spurred demonstrations that turned deadly when security forces fired into crowds. But blackouts are still common despite billions spent on improving power stations and lines.

Iraq’s Electricity Ministry spokesman, Mussab al-Mudaris, said the five-year plan with Iran will let Iraq buy 25 million cubic meters of natural gas each day to feed two power plants in northeastern suburbs of Baghdad – one built by Iran and the other by South Korea’s Hyundai conglomerate.

What a waste of a war! Americans sacrificed and Iran gets the reward! This should be a national shame.
