This every Saturday after the Saturday Lecture open NCAA thread for those of us watching football and not wanting to soil the respectable threads with cries of ‘Hook ‘em Horns’ or ‘Soooeeeee Piggie!’ and we sure don’t want to run Ralphie through a serious thread! Some of our writers would get really mad. This will be a stickie at the top of the page, its football and open, please see the ‘normal’ yet excellent threads below; get crazy and open two tabs!

Last week the big news was the LOSS that Alabama suffered at the hands of the Old Ball Coach and his South Carolina Gamecocks in an instant classic SEC matchup.  That means that the #1 Ranking goes to the undefeated Ohio State Buckeyes followed by the Oregon Ducks, the Boise State Mustangs, and the Nebraska Cornhuskers OR the Texas Christian Horned Frogs. This week should sort out some of the mess after the Alabama loss. In my opinion, ‘Bama is still the best team in the NCAA and would beat any of these teams in a championship game.  This could get very tricky if Boise State goes undefeated and everyone else gets a loss.

At 1530 Eastern, Texas has to travel to Lincoln to play the Nebraska Cornhuskers.  The Power of N is going to want revenge for the previous beatings that Texas has laid on them in the recent past. The Blackshirts will rule this day, i almost feel sorry for the Longhorns.  The game of the day may be 12 Arkansas at 7 Auburn in another great SEC game, Vegas says Auburn by 3 1/2.

At Number 1 Ohio State will travel to 18 Wisconsin…OSU has the target on their back now, lets see how the coach and his boys handle the pressure.  I do feel sorry for Ole Miss, they have to go to Bama and play a very angry team.

Good morning all, today we are going to take a crash course in the world of orthopedic surgery. The following videos are used to illustrate a procedure called and ORIF – Open Reduction Internal Fixation which is a method that orthopedic surgeons use to surgically repair a broken bone normally using plates or screws or an IM (intramedullary) rod to stabilize the bone while the osteoblasts heal the fractures.

SO, gather up your carpentry tools and get a coffee, you will want to dispense with the jelly filled donut, and lets internally fix some bones.

.

The bone healing process after a fracture:

.

ORIF Distal Radius Procedure training video for Volar Plating. “Distal radius fractures are very common. In fact, the radius is the most commonly broken bone in the arm. The break usually happens when a fall causes someone to land on their outstretched hands. It can also happen in a car accident, a bike accident, a skiing accident, and similar situations.”

.

This is a time shifted ORIF of an acetabular fracture, in this case the head of the femur has broken away from the rest of the bone.

.

ORIF of the great toe after a lawnmower accident.

Yinz can thank Calo for this topic.

With complete control of her little green army, Nancy carefully plans her next step to stardom. No one can speak at this board meeting except for Nancy.

If any dare violate the URC (the Unwritten Rules of Conduct) they shall be bid a curt “Adieu,” and launched from the attic catapult toward the general direction of The Blogmocracy. As new arrivals they will be welcomed, disinfected and debriefed, and cordially invited to partake in an Overnight Open Thread.
