Proposal would require all to have health coverage

WASHINGTON (AP) – House Democrats are crafting a plan that would require all Americans to carry health insurance and would help families making less than $88,000 pay the premiums. Employers, too, would have to help foot the bill.

It’s the latest development in President Barack Obama’s push to fix the ailing U.S. health care system by getting the government more deeply involved.

[..]
A document obtained by The Associated Press provides an early look at where Democratic leaders in the House are heading as they try to meet an ambitious July 31 deadline for passing their version of the legislation. The Senate is working on a similar plan, with some key differences.
The Rest…

Not good for business and at a time when business is already hurting. Personally I don’t think our health care system is ailing, I thinks its just fine. Of course TOTUS has to make claims that its in bad shape or else him and the government couldn’t then take more control under the guise of fixing it. This will not improve health care, it will ruin it, the government cant do anything right, not even the really simple stuff. The democrats just want to control everybody and everything. I should have the freedom to not have health care insurance if I choose not to. I guess that freedom is soon to be gone!

Documents: Paulson forced 9 bank CEOs into bailout

NEW YORK — The chief executives of the country’s nine largest banks had no choice but to accept capital infusions from the Treasury Department in October, government documents released Wednesday have confirmed.

Obtained and released by Judicial Watch, a nonpartisan educational foundation, the documents revealed “talking points” used by former Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson during the October 13 meeting between federal officials and the executives that stressed the investments would be required “in any circumstance,” whether the banks found them appealing or not.

Paulson also told the bankers it would not be prudent to opt out of the program because doing so “would leave you vulnerable and exposed.”

It’s no secret that some of the banks had to be pressured to participate in the program, with several bank CEOs saying they had been strongly encouraged to take the funds. But the documents are the first proof of the government’s insistence.
The Rest….

Nothing to see here its just our government taking over the private sector, you know that same government that sends checks to dead people. And that same government that wants a photo-op of scare force one flying over New York, yeah that government. But remember it was Bush that took away every bodies freedoms. The government needs to just butt out, but then TOTUS couldn’t take control and play do as I say, not as I do. America got what it wanted, a nice big parent that we call the federal government. I think I need a drink!

100 Days of Change for the Family

From the Family Research Council.

Did America get the “hope and change” it wanted?

The elitist lying Obama’s are living it up in the our White House while one million Americans are out of work.

The First Lady just got a new pair of $540 sneakers.

Hope and Change, Obama style, they eat Wagyu while America goes hungry.
Don’t you just love Liberals and their values?

British Political Candidate Rejected For Being “Too Jewish And Too White”

Welcome to the world circa 2009. The amount of Anti-semitism that is accepted today is astonishing.  What would have once garnered international condemnation because of its blatant racism is now brushed under the rug and considered expected behavior from certain ethnic groups.  The silence on these types of issues is deafening.  I wonder how long it will take till Mr. Hussain’s defenders are blaming this all on the “Zionists”.

I fear that Europe is once again backsliding towards its pre WW2 environment.

The Labour Party has become embroiled in a race row after a prospective female councillor was allegedly told she was ‘too white and Jewish’ to be selected.

Elaina Cohen claims that Labour councillor Mahmood Hussain said he would not support her application for an inner-city ward because ‘my Muslim members don’t want you because you are Jewish’.

Mrs Cohen, 50, has made an official complaint about the alleged remarks made by Mr Hussain, a Muslim and former lord mayor of Birmingham.

She said: ‘I am shocked and upset that a member of the Labour Party in this day and age could even think something like that, let alone say it.

‘People should not be allowed to make racist comments like that.   If someone in the party feels I cannot represent them because of my colour or religion, that’s ridiculous.

‘I felt particularly aggrieved because I have worked across all sections of the community, particularly with the Muslim section, and have been on official visits to Pakistan.’

Mrs Cohen had applied to stand as a Labour councillor for the Birmingham ward of East Handsworth and Lozells, which has a high Asian and Afro-Caribbean population.

As one of Labour’s safest seats on Tory-led Birmingham city council, the final candidate would be almost certain of victory at the June 4 by-election.

But when Mrs Cohen telephoned 57-year-old Mr Hussain for his support, she was astonished to be told that she was too ‘white and Jewish’ to be considered.

Lorraine Briscoe, who runs a local community association, was sitting next to Mrs Cohen when the conversation took place on speakerphone last Tuesday.

‘I was disgusted that a councillor could make comments like that in 2009,’ she said.

‘He told her, “They will not vote for someone who is white and Jewish. My Muslim members don’t want you because you are Jewish”.

‘Elaina then asked him if he had talked to his Muslim members about it and he said, “I don’t want to talk about it with you” and hung up.

‘Elaina does a lot of good work in this community and she does not see race or religion, she just sees people.’

Two days after the alleged conversation, Mrs Cohen and another candidate were rejected by a pre-selection panel after failing to gain the support of the local party.

Instead, members were presented with one candidate, black South African Hendrina Quinnen, who was selected by an almost unanimous vote.

Mrs Cohen has now sent an official complaint to Labour Party general secretary Ray Collins and Birmingham city council accusing Mr Hussain of improper conduct.

Mr Hussain said yesterday: ‘I would not make those sort of comments. The allegations are not true.’

President Obama to blame everyone else again.

President Obama is due to give a speech today. It is being billed (per Fox News) as Major, though no policy is supposed to be brought up. Obama is expected to talk about how bad the economy was when he took office and where it is today due to his efforts. (After all, capitalism is a failure, you know).

I wonder if he will mention that there are fully stable banks waning to pay back TARP funds that his administration is refusing money from, under the guise of those banks not being stable.
I’m sure it has NOTHING to do with the control that the federal government loses when the money is paid back.
