The Obama Boom: Media downplays increased unemployment claims

The media still refuses to give up on the Obama Boom. Although unemployment claims went up again, the media claims the labor market has improved and that there’s no signs of a double dip recession. They blame the increase in claims on the Verizon strike, not a bad economy.

New U.S. claims for unemployment benefits rose more than expected last week, lifted by striking Verizon Communications workers, a government report showed on Thursday.

Initial claims for state unemployment benefits rose 5,000 to a seasonally adjusted 417,000, the Labor Department said, but still nowhere near levels that would signal a recession.

Striking Verizon  workers filed 8,500 claims for jobless benefits last week, after submitting 12,500 applications the previous week, which covered the period for the August nonfarm payrolls survey.

That suggests that the strike would have a negative affect on the payrolls count, which will be reported on Sept. 2. The strike against Verizon has ended.

A Hurricane is set to hit the Northeast, the media will blame that for bad economic data. They will lie about the economy to help Obama. Despite that, more people are seeing through the propaganda.

After a string of bad reports, the media finally has hope! Unemployment claims fell below 400,000 last week to 398,000. The media is claiming that this is a sign that the Obama Boom is back!

New U.S. claims for unemployment benefits fell more than expected last week, dropping below the key 400,000 level for the first time since early April, according to a government report on Thursday that pointed to some labor market improvement.

Initial claims for state unemployment benefits dropped 24,000 to a seasonally adjusted 398,000, the Labor Department said.

It is also a hopeful sign for the economy which has struggled to regain momentum after growth faltered in the first half of 2011.

You have to give it to these poeple, they still have faith!

Obama Boom: Weekly Unemployment claims up unexpectedly again!

I wonder who are these economists that get polled by the media. Time after time, they expect rosy economic news. Time after time, the bad news is viewed as unexpected! Once again, jobless claims stay above 400,000. Last week 418,000 people filed for unemployment benefits. This is a sign of an anemic and weak job market, not the fictitious Obama Boom the media keeps pushing.

New U.S. claims for unemployment benefits rose more than expected last week, a government report showed on Thursday, pointing to a labor market that is struggling to regain momentum after job growth faltered in the last two months.

Initial claims for state unemployment benefits increased 10,000 to a seasonally adjusted 418,000, the Labor Department said.

Economists polled by Reuters had forecast claims rising to 410,000. The prior weeks figure was revised up to 408,000 from the previously reported 405,000.

The Obama Depression continues unabated.

Obama Boom: Unemployment claims fall “less than Expected.”

Now the term being used by the Progressive propaganda media is less than expected. Unemployement claims fell to 422,000 last week. The media expected it to fall to 415,000, but once again economic data didn’t go as expected.

New U.S. claims for unemployment benefits fell last week, but not enough to assuage fears the labor market recovery has taken a step back.

Initial claims for state unemployment benefits slipped 6,000 to a seasonally adjusted 422,000, the Labor Department said on Thursday, less than economists’ expectations for a fall to 415,000.

When will the media stop expecting good economic news? They have been waiting for 2 years and they still haven’t given up hope. Their love of Obama blinds them to the failure of his policies.
