    Some light reading.

Thank GOD the Bush/Obama era is over.

McCain Blasts Tillerson For Saying Policy Overrides Values On Foreign Policy

      McCain couldn’t disagree more.

“With those words, Secretary Tillerson sent a message to oppressed people everywhere: Don’t look to the United States for hope,” McCain wrote in an op-ed Monday for the New York Times.

“Our values make us sympathetic to your plight, and, when it’s convenient, we might officially express that sympathy. But we make policy to serve our interests, which are not related to our values. So, if you happen to be in the way of our forging relationships with your oppressors that could serve our security and economic interests, good luck to you. You’re on your own.”

I want to see the policy statement from McCain that says the U.S. will sacrifice its national security for the hags-in-bags women in the Magic Kingdom.

The unnamed report is The National Post, a Canadian paper

White House staff called the Prime Minister’s Office last month to urge Justin Trudeau to persuade President Donald Trump not to tear up the North American Free Trade Agreement, according to multiple Canadian government sources.

The unconventional diplomatic manoeuvre — approaching the head of a foreign government to influence your own boss — proved decisive, as Trump thereafter abandoned his threat to pull out of NAFTA unilaterally, citing the arguments made by Trudeau and Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto as pivotal.

      Breaking CNN

CNN exclusive: Grand jury subpoenas issued in FBI’s Russia investigation

Federal prosecutors have issued grand jury subpoenas to associates of former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn seeking business records, as part of the ongoing probe of Russian meddling in last year’s election, according to people familiar with the matter. CNN learned of the subpoenas hours before President Donald Trump fired FBI director James Comey.
The subpoenas represent the first sign of a significant escalation of activity in the FBI’s broader investigation begun last July into possible ties between Trump campaign associates and Russia.

      True.

I had a bunch of(10,000 actually) Sepik River warriors wanting to ascend Mt. Turu to carry down a survey marker, placed there by the US Army Corps of Engineers, in 1944, with much pomp and circumstance. The leader of this mob would them re-ascend Mt. Turu and have himself crucified. Having died he’s then reappear at the base of the mountain and President Lindon Johnston would agree to become the President of Papua New Guinea. Shortly thereafter US Army airforce C-47s would fly over and drop masses of GM Holden cars, TV sets, food (mainly bully-beef in tins) and assorted goodies.

The District Commissioners had to evacuate all of the Europeans from around Mt. Turu into Wewak township because there were about to be 10,000 very pissed off Sepik warriors when the loot didn’t appear.

Oh by the bye. To get involved the 10,000 had to provide $10 each as an entry fee to get all the goodies.

You can imagine how pissed they would be when Lindon didn’t turn up because he was busy being deda already and when the 10,000 discovered that there were no refunds!

      🙂

Seriously folks I lived through this BS.

I warned my ‘hanger-boy’ John Soe that if he joined the festivities then his job (and the $7 a week) would be given to the next guy who turned up at my hangar door. Now $7 a week was a pretty penny in Vanimo township. Hell I only earned $10 a MONTH plus food and a grease hut to live in (seriously) at the time and I was risking my life on a daily basis as a ‘bush pilot’.

      🙂

Great times….. except for the malaria I caught!
