The primary is 03 February.

This is going up early as I have to do a quick turnaround at home and get back on the road for work. Much to do, little time.

But today, Me and Phoebe the blog dog are gonna be couch potatoes and watch mindless something on TV.

Enjoy this Open

This is from June of last year. It’s a aerial video

Part 1. Welcome to the largest illegal immigrant no-go sanctuary city in America. Colony Ridge in Liberty County Texas from an airplane today. Vast expansion clearing underway not pictured

Wait for 2030 and they redistrict all these sanctuary cities.

Our political landscape is going to change DRASTICALLY.

It’s why these blue cities are requesting that their cities get “recounted”

Well, looks like I have to pay the IRS the higher amount. Ex already claimed son as dependent (I thought she was only able to do that until he was 18 according to our agreement, but it’s not really worth looking it up). Not that I’m going to pay (hopefully), I just need to navigate the maze of convoluted instructions on the IRS site and find the application for unable to collect. Of course I have to wait until they accept my return and bill me. I think I’ll just pay the state the 21 bucks I owe them.

On a lighter note, anyone want to put together a cigar donation for me, lol. SIL is going out of town for two weeks and my brother and I have nothing to smoke. JK.

NATO Planning ‘Military Schengen’ – Report

Plans are underway to create a network of “military corridors” across Europe in an effort to bypass complex regulations which currently restrict the exchange of equipment and personnel between NATO nations, The Times reported on Sunday.

In November, NATO’s European logistics chief Lieutenant-General Alexander Sollfrank urged countries in the region to establish zones to allow for the rapid movement of troops and ammunition in the event of a major conflict with Russia.

The idea has been floated by military leaders for years, The Times noted, saying talks on creating the corridors “are now underway” and the results could be announced before NATO’s next summit in July.

The “byzantine tangle of regulations restricting the exchange and transport of military equipment” in the EU has created a “significant headache” for NATO planners, the outlet said.

Cross-border exercises frequently involve dizzying quantities of paperwork that would cost critical time in a military crisis,” it added.

In an interview with The Times, Sollfrank said the US-led military bloc members must begin without delay, making efforts to “reduce or adapt the red tape” wherever possible.

”Everyone can start. Just do it. And don’t wait. Because in the end we have no time to waste,” he warned.

The logistics chief pointed to the example of paratroopers being prohibited from using parachutes belonging to other member states, even when there is no reason for such a restriction.

“Where’s the problem, for example, with a paratrooper from a European nation A using a parachute from a neighboring nation B after having been trained on this system, or attaching equipment from one nation to the helicopter of another nation?” he asked. If there are no “technical or security” issues involved, there should be no impediments, he said.

However, Lieutenant General Jan-Willem Maas, the chief of Defense Support Command for the Dutch armed forces, told The Times that there was still plenty of preparation needed. “We are not where we should be. That’s clear,” he said.

In recent weeks, senior officials in several European nations have been urging their citizens to prepare for a potential military confrontation with Russia.

Moscow, however, has repeatedly insisted that it has no interest in waging war against NATO, with Russian President Vladimir Putin dismissing the warnings as “nonsense,” saying Moscow has “no interest” in attacking any bloc members.

    @ coldwarrior:
Just ask cold warrior about the annual NATO exercises across Western Europe’s countryside. There is a long term SCAM in operation, where Western European plant ‘sacrificial crops in the way of next year’s annual NATO exercises. Tanks and assorted trucks and logistics vehicle traffic then crush these sacrificial crops and farmers claim ‘fanatical’ subsidies for the planned destruction. This game playing even has rules for crying out aloud and it’s been in play for the past 70 years.

This suggested ‘military version’ of the Schengen Charter is just more of the same UNLESS some wild eyed 3 star NATO ‘womble’, based in Belgium NATO HQ, has ‘Dr Strangelove’ delusions and is actually planning to launch an actual NATO attack on Russia or Eastern Ukraine. Obvious there are delusional middle ranking NATO General staffers, who have not assimilated the facts that Russian Defence Policy has NO specific divide between Tactical / Operational warfare and TacNuke release protocols!

Strategic nuclear release is a different ‘kettle of fish’ and the Russian Strategic nuclear release mirrors Wretern Nuclear Release Policy. NOT SO with Russia’s Operational war fighting policy. Russian TacNukes are seamlessly blended into the continuum of Operational war fighting. It’s not a National Secret for crying out aloud and has been openly published for the past 50 years!

This is like some NATO 3 Star playing with matches in a powder store!

    Sheesh!

Flame wars kill threads and sites and everyone loses.
Occasionally a judicious but limited cull has to be enacted for the preservation of a site and thread. Not ideal but alas necessary, when a couple of ‘flamers’ begin to vent ad nauseam after numerous warnings. Sad but alas necessary as a final resort.

This just hit my feed (btw, ‘Cassie Cynical’ is someone I absolutely trust)

Ok so I just read the 10 page PDF of this and lo and behold there is indeed a firearms grab included in this proposed legislation. It has only been introduced and read twice and it’s a proposed constitutional amendment. Normally it would not be going anywhere in a normal Congress; but with todays lawless uniparty congress who the hell knows. Here’s the PDF

This is an omen of the end of the dollar as a reserve currency

JOHANNESBURG, Jan 31 (Reuters) – Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates have confirmed they are joining the BRICS bloc after being invited last year, South Africa’s Foreign Minister Naledi Pandor said on Wednesday.
The five countries were extended invitations along with Argentina at a summit in August in Johannesburg to join the bloc comprising Brazil, Russia, China, India and South Africa. Members say the move would help reshuffle a world order they view as outdated.

Don’t know what’s going on here but James O’Keefe is on to something

    https://twitter.com/JamesOKeefeIII/status/1752515819592986811

People familiar with the story coming out tomorrow keep texting me, asking me about fear. I’ve taken the time to write a careful response.

At 39, I’ve lived a good life. Whether it’s complete or not is not up to me. What happens next, I don’t know. If there’s more to come here, so be it. I’ve learned the pursuit of truth requires extreme risk while operating without a safety net. I’ve experienced so much. I’ve lived ten lives compressed into a fraction of one.
    .
    .
I’m not suicidal, but I’m also not afraid to die.

Now, I’m indifferent to the outcome and frankly numb to the consequences of truth-telling. I’ve adapted to faith over fear.

The mission is to discover other people whose principles are not for sale — who will do the right thing rather than talk about doing the right thing. I’m tired of seeing 10s of thousands of people sliding into my DMs complaining to my team about how bad things are… and then they make excuses or do nothing.

    I’m tired, Boss.

So here I stand; I can do no other. As has been said, “If they’re gonna kill me, they’re going to kill me.” Let’s do this. Let’s get 2024 started. Let’s inspire others to be brave. Let’s raise the stakes. Let’s expose them all!

    In Truth,
    James

    It’s a long post, I’ve excerpted it

I think it’s the ‘freedom of association’ bit. Yes, it does seem ‘out there’ but the point is these people have done things – are doing things – that not that long ago would have been laughed out of the room. Complacency is suicidal.

An excellent piece by Matt Taibbi:

Is the Electoral Fix Already In?

The 2024 presidential race increasingly looks like it will be decided by lawyers, not voters, as Democrats unveil plans for America’s first lawfare election

The fix is in. To “protect democracy,” democracy is already being canceled. We just haven’t admitted the implications of this to ourselves yet.

On Sunday, January 14th, NBC News ran an eye-catching story: “Fears grow that Trump will use the military in ‘dictatorial ways’ if he returns to the White House.” It described “a loose-knit network of public interest groups and lawmakers” that is “quietly” making plans to “foil any efforts to expand presidential power” on the part of Donald Trump.

The piece quoted an array of former high-ranking officials, all insisting Trump will misuse the Department of Defense to execute civilian political aims. Since Joe Biden’s team “leaked” a strategy memo in late December listing “Trump is an existential threat to democracy” as Campaign 2024’s central talking point, surrogates have worked overtime to insert existential or democracy in quotes. This was no different:

“We’re about 30 seconds away from the Armageddon clock when it comes to democracy,” said Bill Clinton’s Secretary of Defense, William Cohen, adding that Trump is “a clear and present danger to our democracy.” Skye Perryman of Democracy Forward, one of the advocacy groups organizing the “loose” coalition, said, “We believe this is an existential moment for American democracy.” Declared former CIA and defense chief Leon Panetta: “Like any good dictator, he’s going to try to use the military to basically perform his will.”

Former Acting Assistant Attorney General for National Security at the U.S. Department of Justice and current visiting Georgetown law professor Mary McCord was one of the few coalition participants quoted by name. She said:

We’re already starting to put together a team to think through the most damaging types of things that he [Trump] might do so that we’re ready to bring lawsuits if we have to.

The group was formed by at least two organizations that have been hyperactive in filing lawsuits against Trump and Trump-related figures over the years: the aforementioned Democracy Forward, chaired by former Perkins Coie and Hillary Clinton campaign attorney Marc Elias, and Protect Democracy, a ubiquitous non-profit run by a phalanx of former Obama administration lawyers like Ian Bassin, and funded at least in part by LinkedIn magnate Reid Hoffman.

Given the 6 days ‘farting about time’, dithering days, and the warning out of Iranians, to ensure that no high value Iranian leadership was involved, the whole exercise was basically a waste of Jet-A-1. Just another ‘smoke and mirror exercise’ put on the compliant lap-dog’ media. The Iranian Republican Guard General Officers know who’s ‘the man’ and it certainly NOT the USAF who is tip toeing about playing Wack-a-Mole with outsourced Iranian allies. Yup.

This was just a ‘Capability Demonstration’, so I guess as an exercise it was useful as a training scenario. If the Biden regime had been serious then 48 hours after the US losses some high ranking Iranian or outsourced protagonist leader would have been vaporised and missed out on his ’72 black eyed virgins’!

THAT is the only response to Iranians. After all the West is only satisfying the Shi’a requirement of being martyred so that the Twelfth Imman can unmask and begin the Muslim Apocalypse. Iranian fissile enrichment is now over 60 % and just a single step away from an operational nuke. Why is the world playing nice with the Iranians? There has got to be a covert plan that answers the big question buried in there somewhere.

The Senate immigration bill has been released and people are losing their minds. total sellout

All challenges to the statute or any policy, guideline, or procedure Mayorkas sees fit to issue will be heard exclusively by the federal district court in the Swamp. Tough orders from federal district courts in Texas and Florida will be no more.

Perhaps the most devastating provision in the bill: Mayorkas can directly grant illegals asylum in a special new process — asylum status confers welfare access, green cards, chain migration and path to full voting citizenship.

His personal habits have been good, eats well and gets exercise. He is, however, a workaholic, up early and working until 2 am

Given the upbringing of Charles III and the mental stress of being a king in waiting for over half his life, didn’t do much good for his mental health, love of whacking trees, talking to them and having his career choice of being his…. then married squeeze… and current queen’s …. used tampon, doesn’t say much for his current mental state!

Even quality Swiss chronometers with mechanical movements get old and wear out. Especially after they have been ‘opened’ for servicing. They never seem to reseal them to the same standard as new watch from the Swiss Breitling factory. My Breitling wasn’t a diver’s watch although I wore it everywhere unless I was diving. After 25 years faithful work it finally died. I sold it for parts for what it cost new!

The secret was DON’T take a chronometer into the sea! I fell over board twice accidentally but also on occasion surfed with it on as I didn’t want to have it stolen from my towel on the beach!

    WRONG!

I never dived with it even though it was supposed to be rated at 60 feet. Deepest I dived was in excess of 100 feet retrieving #1 son as he sank away into the depths whilst intent on sorting his Buoyancy compensator problem. He was on his first proper qualified dive, after completing his 1 Star PADI qualifying dives regime.
We had a double emergency, what are the odds! His BC malfunction and he was attempting to blow it up manually and didn’t realise that he was sinking into 250 feet of water. I grabbed him passing 110 feet and then my high pressure line fractured dumping ALL of my air over board. He kept his head and we buddy breathed and swam towards the surface, hung on an anchor chain for a while to ensure that we weren’t going to be ‘bent’ and surfaced. We chatted about the odds of something like that happening , borrowed two sets and did another dive to 60 feet. Assuming that if one falls off a horse it’s wise to climb back onto a ‘horse’s soon as possible.

I believe that your time line has a few flaws. Chuckles and Camilla were an item way before Diana came onto the scene. You’re correct regarding Camilla’s Brigadier husband who was a rake. Still Camilla cast her web for Chuckles whilst the crown was casting about for a known virgin! Yup! Not an easy thing to do in the UK at the time! The media destroyed Diana’s slim hold on reality and she was also responsible for enjoying being coy with a press who considered royals as blood sport. Chuckles was deeply ‘cunt-struck’ with Camilla well before Diana entered the scene. Royal Family and courtiers pressure arranged the marriage and in the process destroyed whatever hold Diana had on the reality, of being in the thrall of that rather toxic family.

Nope. She had her sights set on Andrew Parker Bowles

They married because HIS father and HER father connived together to place an engagement announcement in the newspapers and they were stuck. Camilla was taken out of circulation while Charles was at sea.

Charles and Diana both brought their lovers to Highgrove -on different weekends – when the other had other places to be. The staff were told what to expect and EVERYBODY knew what was going on.

Diana’s maternal grandmother, Baroness Fermoy, and the Queen Mother, her great friend, offered up Diana on a plate. Baroness Fermoy was a conniving bitch. Her daughter, Diana’s mother, filed for divorce against Diana’s father because he beat her (a behavior that goes back thru several generations of Spencer men). Also, she wanted to marry someone she had just met from Australia. Diana’s father fought for custody and Baroness Fermoy sided with Earl Spencer instead of own daughter. Why? Because she knew her daughter would take the children to Australia and they would no longer be royal-adjacent.

And people wonder why Diana expected to be betrayed. She was a lamb to the slaughter

They brought the colony down to us and of course, we got them inside. They moved in 2013, she came in in 2017 I think. We’d guessed she was 15 or so, but the vet at K-State thought closer to 19. She’d been someone’s years ago. We’ve got her daughter, and 2 of HER (adult ) kittens. Plus all the others.

BREAKING: After RedState’s Reporting Rocked RNC Winter Meeting, Ronna McDaniel Is Stepping Down

The chairwoman of the Republican National Committee, Ronna McDaniel, has told former President Donald J. Trump she is planning to step down shortly after the South Carolina primary on Feb. 24, according to two people familiar with the plans.

Mr. Trump is then likely to promote the chairman of the North Carolina Republican Party, Michael Whatley, as her replacement, according to several people familiar with the discussions. Under the arcana of the committee’s rules, however, Mr. Trump cannot simply install someone, and a new election must take place.

Mr. Trump likes Mr. Whatley for one overwhelming reason, according to people who have discussed him with the former president: He is “a stop the steal guy,” as one of the people described him. He endorses Mr. Trump’s false claims about mass voter fraud and Mr. Trump believes he did a good job delivering North Carolina, a 2020 swing state, to him.

For a late Christmas present I brought the clinic nurses two dozen little rubber chickens, tastefully arranged on Easter grass in a classy little box. The next time I was there they all had little rubber chickens on their station monitors. I found out that one of the girls (who doesn’t know me yet) tried to eat one.

On Monday when I went to the clinic they put me in one of the chairs behind the nurses’ desks.
    “This is great! Everybody’s here!”
They responded “And now you’re here! PAAARTY!!”

Then they brought me white cheddar Cheez-Its. I don’t know if I own them or they own me. 😀

What genius decided it was a good idea to conduct a cross-country training flight through the mountains at night in a major snowstorm?

Rescuers zero in on missing helicopter with 5 marines on board, heavy snow slows search

The Marine helicopter was reported overdue amid California’s ‘atmospheric river’ storm

First responders have launched a search mission after a U.S. military helicopter carrying five U.S. Marines went missing on a flight from Nevada to California on Tuesday.

The Marines say they are in contact with the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office and are coordinating search efforts. The CH-53E Super Stallion helicopter had departed Creech Air Force Base in Nevada en route to Marine Corps Air Station Miramar near San Diego on Tuesday night.

The helicopter is believed to be missing in the area north of Interstate 8 and Kitchen Creek Road, located southeast of Pine Valley, according to the San Diego County Fire Department.

First responders have requested additional resources to assist with the search effort due to heavy snow near Pine Valley, the department said.

“The U.S. Marine Corps is searching for five U.S. Marines assigned to Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 361, Marine Aircraft Group 16, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing,” Marine Corps Air Station Miramar confirmed to Fox News. “The Marines were flying a CH-53E Super Stallion helicopter from Creech Air Force Base to Marine Corps Air Station Miramar on Feb. 6, 2024, when the aircraft was reported overdue.

“The 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing is coordinating search and rescue efforts with the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department and the Civil Air Patrol. The most up-to-date information will be released as it becomes available,” the statement continued.

Local first responders were first contacted regarding the incident early Wednesday morning. The San Diego Sheriff’s Office attempted to send a helicopter to begin the search immediately, but the aircraft was called off due to the “atmospheric river” storm hitting the area.

Cal Fire officials responded to the helicopter’s last known location over the Cleveland National Forest, but nothing was found.

Gotta know how far to push it mate. Training up to the edge is fine and dandy until some moron decides to find exactly where the ‘edge’ actually is during training. NEVER go ‘there’ unless you are dragged kicking and screaming to the ‘edge’ to look over during training. ALWAYS leave a small ‘fudge factor’ up your sleeve …. for mum and the kids! Being forced to look over the ‘edge’ for real should only be considered when you are forced to go therein an actual emergency situation. That scenario where one has to demonstrate for real one’s superior flying type shit, and should NOT ever be ever taken lightly. Lack of ‘imagination’ and ego can seriously …. kill ya!

    🙂

Been there a few times for real and it’s not a good place to be caught out discovering an airplane’s and one’s personal limits! Pure dumb luck saved my hide on several occasions! I was out of ideas, out of options and waiting the the hammer to fall. Funny how a massive shot of adrenaline makes time slow down and every sense becomes super sensitive and you become calm and crystal clear. When you don’t die that is when all that excess adrenaline gives you the shakes, as time speeds up again!, and you feel sick! 🙂

    Funny how that works

The World Economic Forum (WEF) recently announced that, along with Ukraine’s Ministry of Digital Transformation, it will establish a GovTech Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (C4IR) in Ukraine to advance the nation’s role as the esteemed leader in the digitization of the global economy. That’s no small announcement. The WEF press release, dated January 18, 2024, praised Ukraine, remarking that—thanks to its U.S.-funded Diia app allowing Ukrainians to “access essential documents and government services”—it is the first country in the world to have a digital ID system that can be used nationwide.

Overlapping with the WEF news, USAID—the U.S. agency behind the implementation of Diia—declared that it intends to provide at least $650,000 to collaborate with Ukraine to bring its digital triumph to other “partner countries” who seek to accelerate their own digital transformation. Indeed, USAID’s funding in Ukraine is extensive—it provided funding to the Ukrainian government to develop Diia and has allocated another $8.5 million to help expand the app’s services during its war with Russia.

This is not good. No doubt this FAA ‘stooge’ will next tell me if I don’t like DEI requirements for Us airlines then she suggests that I drive from the US West coast to New Zealand. Well duh!

    🙂
The inmates have truly taken over the asylum!

A shocking Zoom call recording shows Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) officials discussing how to reduce the number of white males in the aviation industry while fast tracking unqualified people into key roles like pilots and air traffic controllers.

The DailyWire’s Matt Walsh obtained a Zoom call from 2022 between senior officials at the FAA’s Flight Program Operations division talking about implementing Diversity Equity and Inclusion measures in the aviation industry.

“The footage begins with FAA acting deputy chief operating officer Angela McCullough saying more workers need to go from ‘ramp to cockpit,’ meaning she wants to see more baggage handlers become airline pilots,” Walsh noted on X.

McCullough then complains that Flight Operations is “white-male dominated” and tells the managers they need to “talk about what the future could look like.”

FAA’s Vice President of Flight Program Operations David Riggins responds, “That’s great, honestly. Those are some words that we really need to spend some time digging through and thinking about.”

Walsh added that in addition to receiving the video call footage, he also has been hearing from insiders and whistleblowers in the aviation industry warning that DEI is taking precedence over the industry’s once-stellar culture of safety.

For example, Walsh claimed a Delta pilot told him that the airline promoted a “trans-identifying pilot who repeatedly received bad reviews from captains.”

“According to the source, this pilot ‘would likely not have’ survived probation if he weren’t trans,” Walsh noted, adding the airline catering to “trans” employees has become standard practice.

But the DEI insanity extends far beyond the pilots.

According to Walsh, an “industry-wide embrace of overt mental illness afflicts every aspect of aviation.”

This comes after the FAA announced a diversity push that would include focusing on hiring people with “severe intellectual” and “psychiatric” disabilities.

I don’t care how you spin this – not good

CLIMATE SCIENTIST MICHAEL MANN WINS HIS LAWSUIT, with $1 in compensatory damages from Rand Simberg and Mark Steyn. However, the jury awarded $1000 punitive damages against Simberg, and $1 million against Steyn. D.C. Jury. People on the right need to come up with a similarly reflexively sympathetic jurisdiction.

Rand’s thoughts: “I am pleased that the jury found in my favor on half of the statements at issue in this case, including finding my statement that Professor Mann engaged in data manipulation was not defamation. In over a decade of litigation, the sanctions levied against Professor Mann dwarf the judgment against me.”

    Hmmmm

Processing the ore is a very dirty job and most First World countries outsource the processing from ores to metal as far away from their domestic population as possible. Oz has a shitload of Rare Earths, not on the Chinese scale but still a shitload, until recently outsourced the processing to Malaysia! The Aussies have bought ore bodies in the US SW and SE and plan to process the ores in situ for the US market!

Same for uranium mining. The US has huge uranium ore deposits. A large part of the economy in New Mexico used to be based on uranium mining. It’s pretty much all shut down today, though. We buy most of our uranium from overseas now, instead of mining our own.

There is a LOT of processing tech being developed at the University of Queensland Aussie’s major mining engineering centre also with the Uni of NSW in Sydney. Oz has global levels of three of the BIG four rare earths as well as a slew of the remaining dozen minor rare earths. My brother did a 4 year Mining engineering degree plus Engineering Technology at UNSW and a double Masters at U Queensland. Loved hard rock mining but ended up running 3 heavily automated coal mines. Long Wall mining was his speciality. Did a doctorate in explosives tech and explosive damage mitigation in mines. Lectured and ran the research mine at U Qld. Aussie Rare Earths have only scratched the surface in Oz so far and they are I believe #4 in the world in Rare Earths production. If they can clean up their processing tech, Oz will supply the world in REs and tell China to take a hike!

    🙂

You guys tell me. Is the tech for auto windshields available or no? Was running errands yesterday and that damn winter sun was just deadly. And not just me, it brought westbound traffic on the main drag to an almost complete halt. Even with polarized sunglasses.

Can they not produce windshields that filter that sunlight?
