Finally I can comment on a thread and be on topic!

That is an example of how a cat can lay next to you in bed, place its arms and legs on your back and push, constantly and all night.

Eventually the cat is taking up over half of the bed. The claws emerging randomly help the movement of the immovable object ( me ) across the bed.

Unfortunately in this case the cat in question was pushing against the wall, it is a cat thing.

Eventually the cat pushed so hard the whole house fell down!!!!

If you do not believe me I can prove what happened.

The online rumours are those two will not be coming back to earth the way they left it.

Most foods are easy to enter into my stupid spreadsheet but chicken parts are not. Reason I am concerned is a delivery of parts is due soon. The cheapest chicken there is.

No wings!!!!! the price of them is stupid per pound.

Anyway, there is real data and authorities sites, USFDA that list nutritional value of cooked chicken. But what kind? Which part?

Succulent and plump breasts with no skin? Legs with skin and bones?

Anyway chicken parts and cat treats arrive soon. I will post an update.

Someone is retaliating against us by coming after the cats.

we got a door hanger Tuesday from the county animal control department. They wanted to do a welfare check on our pets.

I tried calling Tuesday night and got their answering service which doesn’t take messages. I left a message on Thursday and got a call back about half an hour later.

I guess they’ve had four or five calls in the past year, complaining about the number of cats that we have. It sounds like they’re getting a little fed up with it too. Someone had come out last year after the first complaint and talked to Mrs. RW and didn’t have any concerns.

they wanted to check to make sure that we were still able to handle everything all right though.

She did say that they talked to the compliance officer in our city, and he said as long as we aren’t breeding, they’re not gonna worry about it. Under state law, we could have as many as 19 before we need to be, licensed as a shelter.

Mrs. RW thinks it’s that Joker she had working for her who her and ended up getting fired, my first thought was the idiots who screwed around on our deck.

This is what happens when ideologues get into positions of power in Corporates like Boeing and alas most Western corporates who decide to bet the farm on the current ideological morons. This what happens to corporates who forget about making business work for customers, share holders, staff, workers and the economy.

When ideology takes centre stage and ideologues wriggle their way into positions of power, corruption is never far behind. It took 70 years to kill 100 million human beings, multiple wars and 2 world wars and the destruction of the State of Russia’s economy due to communist ideologues. The US appears determined to destroy the economy of the USA and potentially kill 300 million citizens in just half that time. Ideology has rivers of blood on its hands. Ideology and corruption always ends up in evil and death.

I have a severe cat problem.

In the fall of 2017 two cats decided living with me was an awesome place to live. They were about 9 months old and the way they got in to snuggle in bed was through a second floor window that was open at night.

As they were obviously feral I got the lady spayed and her ear clipped as is what any responsible person does with a feral cat. That indicates to animal control the cat should not be removed from the area.

Her name is Natasha, and she is the sweetest cat you could ever imagine. After doing the TNR thing and keeping her safe while she recovered for four days she never left.

Other cat got named Boris. He did not get the snip until about 2019. Only annoying tendency he had which is a male cat is he pissed on the door on his way out. Marking his home.

Fast forward to February 16th 2020 when I found two kittens in a shoe box with a bottle of Gatorade. Children said they found them. They were about two days old, umbilical cords still attached.

So I did what everybody does and bottle fed them. 2020 when COVID struck!

Plan was to raise them to about six weeks onto solid food then dump them at a shelter but alas, all shelters closed due to COVID, then car caught fire.

After Christmas 2022 kittens were no longer kittens but two year old un-neutered male cats and getting territorial.

Boris decided to pack his belongings and leave….

It’s called “train the way you fight.” Carr is the only one there who’s ever shot at targets that were shooting back. Taran teaches competition shooting, not combat shooting. The best example of that is in John Wick 2, where Keanu Reeves flips a shotgun upside down, with the stock on his shoulder, to reload it. That’s 100% a competition move that Taran taught him. Works fine when your enemy is steel plates or paper targets. Not a good move when facing actual people.

Joe and Jill Biden have been using their Delaware house for fast cash – refinancing 20 times with loans totaling $4.2M since buying the $350k home

Joe Biden and First Lady Jill have been using their homes as an ATM, taking out multiple mortgages and refinancing their Delaware properties an astonishing 35 times, a DailyMail.com investigation has revealed.

The president has lived in two houses in his home state since 1975, when he bought his first property in Wilmington that he later sold in the late 1990s.

But records obtained by DailyMail.com show the couple have had a habit of negotiating a new mortgage or credit deal on both homes every 17 months.

Over the decades the Bidens have borrowed a total of $6million on both properties – and there’s still an outstanding $541,000 mortgage on their current three-bed, 4.5-bath Wilmington mansion nearly three decades after they bought it.

The constant refinancing raises the question of why the Bidens, who have a reported net worth of $10million, needed a constant flow of extra cash.

‘It doesn’t make a lot of sense unless they were desperate for cash,’ a finance expert told DailyMail.com.

The revelation comes as questions grow about the president’s involvement in his son Hunter’s shady business dealings with Chinese oil giant CEFC and other foreign entities.

According to the mortgage documents, the president and first lady purchased their current four-acre lot for $350,000 in March 1996 but have since saddled it with 20 different home credit agreements and mortgages totaling $4.23million.

Their previous five-bed, 2.5-bath home in the same town was purchased for $185,000 in 1975 – and sold controversially for $1.2million in 1996.

Records show the property had a total of 15 mortgages and lines of credit attached to it.

The Bidens also own a summer home in Rehoboth Beach, which they scooped up in in June 2017 for $2,744,001, according to Sussex County public records.

That property, however, has no mortgages attached to it and was revealed last year to have been a cash purchase.

The property data suggests that the 46th president and his wife, 73, have needed money fast – and have used their homes’ equity as the main source of credit over the years.

    What a week.

Mrs RW was in Rochester MN for her friend’s cancer surgery, last Thursday. Things are pretty good, but they’re keeping a close eye because she has cystic fibrosis.

I got a call Sunday night around 11. “Guess who’s a patient at the Mayo Clinic?!

Mrs had tripped over an uneven piece of concrete, between the ramp from the parking lot and the sidewalk at the front door. It had sunk probably 7/8”. She fell and broke her humerus. So I had to rent a car one way and drive to MN yesterday (3 1/2 hours sleep) then bring her back in her car today.

They suggested seeing an orthopedic surgeon, so she’ll get with her doctor on that.

The hotel filled a claim with their insurance, but we’ll probably call an attorney anyway.

When we were going out to take pictures, this young guy, probably early 20’s, tipped at the same place. Imagine if a 75 year old, or someone using a cane or walker fell.

    Join the queue!

Since the first ‘revolution’ back in the 1860s they have had at least 72 revolutions …. and counting. I lost count and gave up counting. Hell they even has TWO revolutions in ONE day back about the mid 1980s. The folks in La Paz were so ‘past the whole revolutions thingie that they just cleared the main street and carried on regardless and left the various forces to kill each other.

Even the schools didn’t flee home the classes just went on as usual. At 1030 AM the Airforce with about 50 jeeps armed with .50 cal and 7.62 Brownings drove down the switch back road from the 11,000 foot long runway and base on the AltoPlano, to downtown La Paz. Attacked the army barracks and ‘brassed up the centre of town . By lunchtime the revolution was over and everyone came out for lunch. Then after the army had had their lunch and the dead and wounded had been cleared from the streets the army had a turn.

The army drove the airforce back up the 1000 foot high switchback road to the AltoPlano that was at 6000 feet above sea level. La Paz is at 5000 feet altitude!

Then everyone went to dinner. The next morning the Hotel Europa opened as usual and right on 7AM as usual the slightly out of tune presidential band struck up its daily wake up call for el Presidente and also woke up all of the guests in the Europa Hotel … as usual… as it was right beside the President’s palace.

Life went on and everyone got on with their lives…. as usual

    YAWN

The band used to play their semi-Mariarche marching band type music that was slightly out of tune …. right below my room and woke me up every bloody morning….. grrrrr!

La Paz is a crazy place and when you get to explore the capital is quite an evil place. Especially in the ‘witches market’ where you can buy the usual blood of own; eye of newt; foetus of lama type concoctions. They sell fresh human foetuses as well if you ask about, for ritual spell casting and such!

Diesel is for sale Tuesdays and Fridays although if travelling up across the AltoPlano you can buy beer bottles of diesel at the mud brick villages from the local entrepreneurs, along the way across the AltoPlano on the way to Chile.

A Boris update for anyone interested. If I had a car when he showed up on the doorstep after over two years gone I would have taken him to the vet and said goodbye.

He is in a mess, so thin his shoulder blades and hip bones show. He is a medium to long haired cat so bones should not show. His fur is unkempt and his once snowy white paws and chest are not white.

He was having trouble breathing and the bridge of his nose and forehead is swollen and puffy and soft to the touch. He looks like a Klingon.

Also I know he is FIV+ so impossible to find a forever home for him so It looks like we are stuck.

His tail had a dreadlock hanging off it, Mr Scissors cured that and I took another sand burr off his tail.

So, as of today he is eating very well, drinking very well, depositing things in the litter box that are the correct size, colour, consistency. He now has a snotty discharge from his nose and seems to be breathing much better. Maybe because he was dehydrated his capacity to generate snot was diminished.

As to his behavior, well, it is like he never left. He knows where the Temptation cat treats are served, and he is my bed buddy again!

Natasha sniffed at him once then they ate from the same dish and she knows him and he knows her.

As to the twin cats they know something is not right with the universe. They are both staying in the lounge, or outside, while Boris stays in the bedroom or on the balcony.

FIV is not spread by sharing food, water and litter boxes. It is spread by deep bites. And Boris don’t bite anyone, except for my ankle if he snuggles up next to my left foot and wants a head scratch.

His snotty nose is loosening up, cat snot is not pleasant. He is not running a temperature as far as I can tell by touching his snotty nose. Even though Boris is the nicest and calmest cat I ever have known there is no way I am pushing my luck by sticking a thermometer up his ass.

Anyway, keeping him fed and hydrated and preventing the boys from bothering him and hoping he gets back to his old self.

580 calories, 43g carbs and this morning I was still in ketosis.

Got to crack that 200 pound barrier.

LOL so today’s grocery order from Walmart included lettuce and a 5lb bag of Russet potatoes!

A mouse mat is something you have to wiggle your mouse on.

However if you have a cat it should be called a cat mat.

Why? Because the cat lays on the mat and you have to reach under its belly to move the mouse to do Internet things.

It is a win-win scenario! You get to use the Internet and have a warm hands, and Boris gets a belly massage.

A casual food post while we are waiting for the debate to start.

Chicken. Bought a shit load last week, no wings as they are expensive per pound but got some drumsticks ( Tyson ) and a 10lb bag of chicken leg quarters for $5.57

Hey what a deal, chicken for 56 cents a pound.

So I weighed one of the chunks of chicken then cooked it. Put it on a plate then weighed it.

Ate the yummy chicken, spat out the stringy bits and left the bones and spine and other stuff on the plate.

Yeah, I am spread sheeting what I eat.

It mathematically appears that I only actually ate 1/4 of the cheap chicken leg quarter.

So being honest I am no longer buying the cheap per pound chicken things because in reality it is cheaper to buy skinless and boneless chicken breasts. 100% meat instead of 25% meat.

I caught the 2nd half, and CNN’s rules seemed to work. The moderators didn’t argue with the candidates and only “begged the question” a couple of times. Trump ignored the false premises for the most part and went off on his own, Biden bumbled as expected. I noticed that Joe’s eyes were blue for the first time in a long while.

I haven’t read it’ so I’m not sure what they actually did. Pretty sure that it would have been remanded back to the lower court, which will have no choice but to order a release.

There’s not going to be any mass release of people from prison, though. Each case will have to go back before the court individually. If that was the only charge, they’ll end up being released.

The problem is with the hundreds who took plea deals. Part of the standard language in a plea bargain is that you give up your right to appeal. Those people may be screwed.

I’ve been watching Joe Biden for 40+ years.

I never let go of my view that he’s 1) of below average intelligence, and 2) a loathsome human being lacking in character or basic morality.

He’s a serial liar and always has been.

He is a fabulist who is the walking embodiment of the “Walter Mitty” syndrome.

He has lived his entire life based on the premise that he could get 150,000 to 250,000 people to vote for him every six years in backwater backwards state that exists in the shadows of all its neighbors.

He has never paused for even a moment to consider whether it is an ethical way of life for his extended family members to “earn” money based on almost nothing more than the fact that they share his last name.

He has no guiding political beliefs which is evidenced by his wild policy swings over 50 years in office.

His “North Star” in politics was the always shifting “center” of the Democrat party wherever that might be found.

He has ALWAYS been willing to say whatever he thought was politically opportune at any particular moment in time.

He should have stayed retired from politics in 2008 when Obama called him. Obama didn’t really want Biden — what he really didn’t want was Hillary. He knew Biden would sit in the corner with his few aides from his time in the Senate and keep his mouth shut.

I read and hear Democrat party shills lamenting that if this performance sends him on the path to a resounding defeat it will destroy his “legacy.”

Joe Biden has never had a legacy.

He’s always been the Fredo Corleone of the Democrat party.

Like Fredo, he’s just never known that.

    Good riddance.

Breakfast was four eggs and an ounce of cheddar, all scramblied up. Zero carbs. 430 calories and not that filling.

A 10oz baked potato topped with 3oz chopped onion and an ounce of sour cream would have come in at 325 calories but 59g of carbs. The carb content would have kicked me out of ketosis.

But on a normal but calorie restricted diet the ketosis thing does not matter.

Served it with a can of that expensive chunky tuna, not the Chicken of the Sea mush, a blob of sour cream and a sprinkle of sharp cheddar.

Couldn’t do it. Only ate half the potato and hid the other half in the fridge behind the lettuce.

Maybe I should have started with one of those tiny red potatoes, boiled. But I don’t think Walmart sells them individually.

An excellent discussion of the Chevron decision

    https://x.com/RealSpikeCohen/status/1807513128479150478

For those who don’t understand what Chevron Deference is, and why SCOTUS ended it, here’s the long and short of it:

A family fishing company, Loper Bright Enterprises, was being driven out of business, because they couldn’t afford the $700 per day they were being charged by the National Marine Fisheries Service to monitor their company.

The thing is, federal law doesn’t authorize NMFS to charge businesses for this. They just decided to start doing it in 2013.

Why did they think they could away with just charging people without any legal authorization?

Because in 1984, in the Chevron decision, the Supreme Court decided that regulatory agencies were the “experts” in their field, and the courts should just defer to their “interpretation” of the law.

So for the past 40 years, federal agencies have been able to “interpret” laws to mean whatever they want, and the courts had to just go with it.

It was called Chevron Deference, and it put bureaucrats in charge of the country.

It’s how the OHSA was able to decide that everyone who worked for a large company had to get the jab, or be fired.

No law gave them that authority, they just made it up.

It’s how the ATF was able to decide a piece of plastic was a “machine gun”.

It’s how the NCRS was able to decide that a small puddle was a “protected wetlands”.

It’s how out-of-control agencies have been able to create rules out of thin air, and force you to comply, and the courts had to simply defer to them, because they were the “experts”.

Imagine if your local police could just arrest you, for any reason, and no judge or jury was allowed to determine if you’d actually committed a crime or not. Just off to jail you go.

    That’s what Chevron Deference was.

SCOTUS released the opinion in the Trump immunity case. Basically, they said that presidents have absolute immunity for official acts, but not for unofficial acts. They laid out a test for the lower courts to use to determine whether a particular act is official or unofficial and sent the case back to the district court to make that determination.

Pretty much exactly what I expected.

That was really the only possible decision for this case, particularly when the two sides were arguing the absolute extreme positions. Clearly, neither was viable. No, the president doesn’t have “absolute immunity” to do whatever he wants, but the DOJ position was equally absurd. If a president has no immunity whatsoever, he basically can’t make any decisions, because someone, somewhere, is going to object to literally everything he does.

I learned a very important lesson tonight. I need to get my shit together, clean the apartment up, make friends with someone who has a car ( actually make some friends ) or buy a car myself.

To cut a long story short. At 7pm as it cooled down I walked to the store to get myself a six pack, three tomatoes and two cucumbers. When I got back I started to prepare supper for later tonight. Chicken legs. The cheap shit.

I had already cooked it but it needed de-boning. This was about 7:30pm. One of the black cats jumped up on the kitchen counter to help. I did not check which one but 99% of the time it is Georgie that helps. I gave him a few juicy shredded morsels on a plate so he would stop licking mine.

He just sniffed at what I selected for him then jumped off kitchen counter and went and did cat stuff. I put my chicken in the fridge.

About 8pm went into kitchen and there was a black cat in the middle, pretending to be asleep and in the fucking way as usual. Happens all the time here.

About 8:30pm went into kitchen for another beer and a black cat was in front of the fridge, cats are assholes, it grumbled when I opened the door but did not move.

Just after 9pm went into kitchen to find a cat laying in a pool of drool and with a moist rear end that smelled of cat shit, and howled when touched.

10pm cat went into massive seizures and by 10:30pm I now have a dead cat on the kitchen floor.

Still have four beers left. Will worry about what to do with a dead cat tomorrow.

I really don’t think they have any option besides Harris, for a couple of reasons. The obvious one is that passing her over risks alienating the minority vote, without which they’re screwed.

The other is money. All that money from Democrat donors went to the Biden-Harris campaign. If someone else becomes the nominee, they have to start from scratch. If it’s Harris, she gets that money.

    NBC noticed

    https://freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/4248607/posts

the DNC’s 2022 document outlining procedures for the convention, there is a process for replacing Biden if he voluntarily chooses to step aside after the Aug. 22 conclusion of the convention.

Under the existing rule, Democratic National Committee Chair Jamie Harrison would name a new nominee, in consultation with Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., and Democratic Governors Association Chair Tim Walz of Minnesota. Their choice would be presented to DNC members — a group of party leaders much smaller and more elite than the delegates to the convention — for ratification or rejection.

His nomination is expected to occur before that, in a virtual roll call of state delegations in late July or early August. A date for that is expected to be set by the convention’s rules committee at a July 19 meeting.

The Biden campaign wants everyone to think “chaos would reign” if the president stepped aside, said one person familiar with the DNC process. “Thats why they’re not admitting there’s a rule.”

Currently there is a General Election happening in the UK. A General Election is kind of like a Federal Election.

Voting for members of parliament equivalent to Senators and House Representatives. UK has no president, the majority party in parliament selects a prime minister.

That is how and why the prime minister can be changed without an election. A bit like your speaker of the house can be changed without a mass vote from the people.

Anyway my point is the polls just closed. Results are counted by hand and the counts for the whole of the UK should be in within the next four hours.

Why does it take the USA weeks?

Well one reason is on a USA ballot form there are tens if not hundreds of boxes to tick or cross. In a UK general election you make ONE choice. Who do you want as your member for parliament?

    Simples…

Also you may say ” Well the UK can count votes faster as they are one sixth of the population of the USA.”

My answer, as always is ” In the USA there are six times the available people to count votes ”

Anyway in a few hours votes will be counted.

When I get off this stupid diet then I am going to eat myself silly.

Only place around here that sold goat has closed down, also this local Walmart does not stock lamb.

There are some faux Greek restaurants that do take away but they are fake “Mediterranean Cuisine” places.

Biological note. Sheep and goats look the same. Some breeds of sheep look more like goats than goats do and some breeds of goat look very sheepish.

But they are distinct species. A goat has 60 chromosomes, 30 pairs and a sheep has 54 chromosomes 26 pairs.

But both goat and sheep are yummy!

This big bowl of pasta and any sauce is an American thing.

I personally do not like a big meal of the same stuff.

I lived in Italy for over a year, well technically not lived there, flew out Sunday night, flew back Friday night.

Anyway, an Italian meal is not a shit load of spaghetti and meatballs.

An Italian meal is a starter of something like prosciutto and olives or my favorite Insalata Pomodoro which is sliced tomatoes and real soggy mozzarella with a dressing.

Next comes a small bowl of pasta and sauce. Maybe a meatball or two. My favorite one was not pasta based but gnocchi in a cream sauce.

Then you get your main course which is a chunk of meat or fish. That is it. Just meat or fish.

    Finally dessert!

Small portions of each but a complete meal.

As an aside, where I worked was not in a big city in Italy where there were tourists and all wait staff had to know basic English and the menu was in English.

I worked in the industrial South of Italy, restaurants there had no menus, you just asked the waitstaff to cook what you wanted.

Me not speaking Italian, wait staff not speaking English usual routine was for me to point to a table near me and nod.

Never had a bad meal or anything I did not like.

This month spending on non rent items exploded to $1200 due to yearly, mandatory renter insurance of $232.

Anyway, as to pension fund, which I am not drawing down on yet, over the last two weeks it has increaced by about GPB2000 per day.

    That is $2551 per DAY!!!!

OK now go to the middle of England, fill up your gas tank and drive 300 miles in as straight of a line as the roads allow.

In about six hours you will have still got gas in your tank and you will have driven about 300 miles.

    Biden Campaign Unveils New Slogan
    PastedGraphic-1.png

WASHINGTON, D.C. — In a hotly anticipated announcement, the Biden 2024 Presidential Campaign has just unveiled its exciting new campaign slogan: “Only Senile Some Of The Time.”

Staffers say that the motto is meant to help redirect growing distrust of the president’s failing mental capacities by reminding Americans that Biden is only senile some of the time, rather than suffering from dementia all of the time.

“Joe’s been catching a bad rap lately, and we just think that people don’t realize that he’s actually fairly lucid for about three to four hours each day, depending on medications,” said Curt Kristoferson, a senior Biden campaign staffer and slogan designer. “He doesn’t really even start showing his age until about 4:00 in the afternoon — he’s sharp and energetic for a good couple of hours before that. We just want to remind voters that he’s not as far gone as he always looks in debates, press conferences, campaign speeches, global summits, and other public appearances.”

President Biden was available for comment, as it was only 3:30 when he was asked. “That’s right, Jack! No more of this dementia malarkey — just good old thrubmelisbtieusty…uh, campaigning! I’m not sen…senate…senectile! That’s a lie straight outta old Corn Pop! We’re gonna…guh…that’s right! Just you watch, Jack!”

At publishing time, staffers in an unmarked warehouse with a “Kamala 2024” sign carelessly propped against the door had been heard pitching the slogan “Only Gauge-Your-Eyes-Out Irritating Most Of The Time.”

    AHHHH!

    Gotta luv the Bee!

LOL the toilets are not hard to find.

I have not been in Europe for a quarter of a century but when I often visited for work and pleasure the toilets were often not segregated.

Especially in France. On entering there were usually washbasins etc on one side and the stand up male pissy things the other side. The sit down accommodations then were at the end of the room.

Most men went in the pissy things and the ladies walked to the sit down things. No fuss, we all got to go.

That was before transexual perverts were invented.

Seems stupid, on the Fourth fireworks are set off at dusk.

Or if you want to know real history the “fireworks” were actually the first Royal Navy attack using rockets on Fort McHenry on September 13-14 1814.

And yet again Britain was the inspiration for not only fireworks but also the main theme for your song you sing at baseball games. “The Star Spangled Banner”

Cannot speak for Calo but here we are having weird pop up out of nowhere really heavy thunderstorms that last 10 minutes.
    Something to do with

Scattered thunderstorms will continue to develop this afternoon. This is associated with a weak stationary boundary extending along the I-10 corridor. Brief heavy rain, lightning, and gusty winds can be expected with stronger storms.

So the weather here depends on the roads and where the Interstate is.

I think Calo will be OK. She lives 13 miles away and not near any Interstates.

I’m not her biggest fan but that’s about her personality, not her integrity.

I’ve not known her to be wrong in terms of her profession. She may have been misled but from what I’ve seen today, I wonder if she was an unwitting part of an op. Now it comes out that all sorts of med personnel have been visiting the WH for months (Parkinson’s specialists etc) and the press corp is pleading ignorance.

    Nah. They covered for him

Sis has been in the convalescent wing of a senior facility north of Cincinnati for over a month. The facility has a good reputation, in fact, it’s the same one that Sis had selected for our mom before our ailing Mom passed away some years ago.

Sis likes the place, has fun with staff, is finally getting the physical therapy she needs.

A week ago there was a late night argument going on outside her door, so she went out to the hall to ask them to keep it down. One of the nurses (a temp) was a tall black woman who took offense, walked up to my 5′-4″ sister and haranged her, threatened her in fact. Next day, Sis reported the incident, and that she’d heard the same woman harassing elderly Alzheimer’s patients.

Eventually the police showed up, interviewed my sister and others, then arrested the bitch and took her to jail.

Anyone that has taken any interest in my life knows Midnight is important. That is when the day total of calories, carbs and shit like that get saved and I start fresh.

Been a bit of a naughty day so far. There was still some wine left in the cheap 5L wine box that was delivered on 3rd July, plus today I took some excersise and walked to the store to get a six pack of Busch Light. The 16oz cans, not the girly 12oz cans.

Anyway, totals for 6th July are….

    Laura Loomer is vindicated

I have waited to say anything until I got three confirmations. I represent and have represented the health crews on AF1 as part of my role as GC.

Anyway, I have verified there was a medical emergency on AF1. Our president has Parkinson’s and he is hallucinating. He had an episode on the plane and they had to give him anti psychotics so when the plane landed he “looked fine.”

I have hesitated to release this information because of the controversy it may cause, but if this is what is going on, as a country we need to deal with it and not hide it. Anyone who has served our country deserves better treatment than this during his/her final illness. I may not agree with our politicians, but there is no question, this is not appropriate treatment of a Parkinson’s patient and that is why I am speaking out. And this issue may well come up with the Monarch, so this is not a political issue, it’s a health care issue and it’s about how we deal positively with aging and the shifts of life. GSK, GSP

I love it when the Left masturbates in public.

    Check out the pic

    https://x.com/newrepublic/status/1810009748697448541

We chose the cover image, based on a well-known 1932 Hitler campaign poster, for a precise reason: that anyone transported back to 1932 Germany could very, very easily have explained away Herr Hitler’s excesses and been persuaded that his critics were going overboard. After all, he spent 1932 campaigning, negotiating, doing interviews—being a mostly normal politician. But he and his people vowed all along that they would use the tools of democracy to destroy it, and it was only after he was given power that Germany saw his movement’s full face.

Today, we at The New Republic think we can spend this election year in one of two ways. We can spend it debating whether Trump meets the nine or 17 points that define fascism. Or we can spend it saying, “He’s damn close enough, and we’d better fight.”

We unreservedly choose the latter course. And so we have assembled herein some of our leading intellectual historians of fascism; a member of the fourth estate who learned firsthand what the Trump lash feels like; a leading expert on civil-military relations; a great Guatemalan American novelist with a deep understanding of immigrants’ lives; one of our most incisive cultural critics; and a man with all-too-real experience in living under a notorious authoritarian regime. The scenarios they describe are certainly grim. We dare you to say, after reading these pieces, that they are impossible.

Topping up my alcohol intake with a couple of coffee mugs ( 300ml ) cheap boxed Cabernet Sauvignon just makes me sleepy, not playful.

However on the bright side the ribs are cooked!

It is embarrassing to eat a plate of ribs by first weighing the ribs and plate then writing it down on the notepad on the top of the microwave. Eating the meat and spitting out the gristly bits and bones back onto the plate.

Then weighing plate and bones and subtracting the weight from the starting weight to calculate how much meat I ate.

Cooked pork 297 calories per 100g, 21g fat, 26g protein.

As we are having a deep and meaningful discussion about weighing a chunk of meat before eating it and weighing the residue after one thing surprised me.

I got a 10lb bag of chicken hind quarters for $5.57 the ones that have huge chunks of chicken leg, spine, lungs and ass attached.

Air fryer baked one, sat and picked it apart just eating the nice meat, discarding the skin and was very surprised to learn that I only ate one quarter of the weight of the thing.

So, even though chicken legs and skin tastes different to plain old boneless/skinless chicken breasts the price per pound of edible meat is the same!!!!!

Sure Reform split the rightwing vote, but a heady mix of conservative hubris (AKA the attitude of ‘to the Manor Born’ plus two decades of incremental, covert, leftist march through the Conservatives of old) could have saved this Conservative seat if Reform has stayed away. But all that would have happened was a postpone the evil day when the seat is lost perhaps forever. Reform bit the bullet and got it over fast.

Now perhaps the days of the identity politics of the Shailesh Varas of this world will pass, inside the Conservative Party of the UK may even reach 327+ MPs at the next election. The red wall to the North switched back to Labour after all of the nonsense that those ‘bergers’ stood for with so called conservatives, after the ‘Red Wall fell all those years ago. The conservative core remained but all of those former Labour voters couldn’t bear the rubbish faux- conservatives a moment longer so they stated away in droves and the socialists of Labour took full advantage and roared back.
