I follow this guy on youtube (or yinztube, as i call it). He reads what his writers write and adds comments.

Anyway, this is hysterical:

Watch the whole thing.

It’s an Open.

So nobody else wonders why the nutritional content of bacon is different when you microwave it instead of pan frying it?

Yep, I understand the fat content may be lower when it is microwaved as the melted fat gets soaked up by the paper towel it is wrapped in. The bacon pan fried will have melted bacon grease still on it when you scoop it up and plop it on your sandwich.

But what about the protein? Why does microwaved bacon contain one third less protein per slice after it is microwaved?

    Where does the protein go?

    Yes.

In the late 70s, Ohio U. (in Athens, not OSU in Clumbus) was in competition with Kent State for the most bars on one street. KSU won easily.

I made it through a minute and 43 seconds of that hysterical video, then decided to rearrange the coffee cups instead. Their order tells me what day of the week it is.

They obviously weighed the slice before and after cooking and found the microwaved slice weighed less so calculated the fat and protein content based on the same ratio of fat to protein in the raw slice.

The loss in weight was all fat. No protein was lost. The point of my post is don’t trust everything you read on the internet! LOL

When calculating what I eat I use the values for raw bacon. I cook mine the English way, as in not burned to a crisp, just heated up. Almost no fat left in the pan.

Also the nutritional fats of a slice of bacon ( how much does a “slice” weigh? Thin cut, thick cut etc ) is bollocks. Also even the ratio of fat to protein. No two slices of bacon have the same ratio. Even in the same packet!

    Nutritional labels on food.

    Strict FDA rules.

Nutritional values must be accurate to within plus or minus 20%

LOL so, when calorie counting your daily food intake don’t be obsessed when you forgot to add in the tomato you added to your bacon sandwich.

    ( For information a tomato ( or two romas ) 148g is 35 calories and 6g carbs. )

Yes, you are all correct. It takes me more time with a calculator and a spread sheet to work out what I am eating than actually eating it!

I am fascinated by statistics and numbers now. Out of the blue I suddenly thought about birthdays.

In a world where everything was all just statistics and the numbers of humans and cats and sheep in the world a person who was just casually thinking of how many cats, sheep or humans would be having a birthday today would just divide the number of cats, sheep and humans by 365.25 and that would be the number that had a birthday today. Easy!!!!

But no, sheep are usually born in the spring, so a sheep’s birthday is most likely to be in March or April.

Cats too. Not many are born in Summer or Autumn, so dividing the population of cats by 365.25 does not work to tell me how many cats have birthdays today.

Humans tend not to give birth seasonally. So dividing the human population on Earth by 365.25 will give a close approximation as to how many humans birthdays fall on April 30th.

Anyway by my calculation, and when calculating it I may have missed a zero or two inputting 8 Billion, then….

Today 21,902,806 people are having a birthday today.

Happy birthday to all of them!

    Breakfast update.

I didn’t eat my avocado or sardines. Not hungry. Common sense says you must eat to stay alive but just not going to eat for eating sakes.

Urine test shows I am actually eating a lot of fats, ketones are high on the urine test strips. Yeah it took me a few days to learn how not to piss on my fingers.

So currently metabolically I am eating myself.

Doesn’t look good for my sister in Cincy.

She spent a couple days on her couch unable to walk, didn’t bother to tell anyone until last Friday night. She’s got some dementia going on.

She doesn’t remember going to the ER, was diagnosed with sepsis and internal bleeding, has had two colonoscopies to determine source. I spoke with her yesterday, she was confused, repeated herself, and I detected some aphasia – gaps between her words.

This afternoon she was sent to the ICU with breathing problems; last word is that she’s stable.

    I’m hopeful, but not optimistic.

Just got to have a nice chat with four fine outstanding officers of the Houston Police Department. In two cool looking black and white SUV thingies.

Oh, a word of warning. When the officer opens the door of his nice police car do not walk towards him. Both he and his buddies suddenly jump out.

LOL I think I scared them more than they scared me.

Anyway I complied and because of that I am not the lead story tonight on Fox 26 Houston.

    Well there’s a lead-in to a story. Cat trouble?

    @ Bunk Five Hawks X:
    This time no cats involved.

I was walking across a corner of a park and ride parking lot. They stopped me and asked me where I lived. I pointed to the adjacent apartment building and told them the apartment number. They then asked where I was going. I turned 180 degrees and pointed to the convenience store. Said I was going to get beer. ( yes I fell off the wagon, Keto diet is no more )

So I could see them thinking really hard!

Before they asked I said ” I came through a hole in the fence, please don’t report the hole, it is a short cut ”

Then I asked them why they stopped me. The reply was ” you match the description of a person seen messing with vehicles ”

Note, that corner is the furthest from the bus terminal and no cars park that far away.

Anyway, as I was wearing a short sleeved shirt I held up my arms and looked at each of them and then looked at the nice police officers. No more was said by any of is and I continued to walk and get my daily allowance of beer.

The closest people matching my description as to skin colour probably live in Iceland. I am so white I glow in the dark.

LOL I may have been a suspicious person in a suspicious place but at least I was not racially profiled.

Penalties When Immigrants Fail to Carry Their Green Cards
Failing to have your green card with you is a criminal misdemeanor. If you are found guilty you can be fined up to $100 and put in jail for up to 30 days. (I.N.A. Section 264(e), 8 U.S.C. Section 1304.) A copy of your green card is not good enough, because the law does not use the word “copy” or refer to “other evidence” of LPR status.

As to falling off the wagon I am very annoyed with myself.

From 17th April to 1st May lost 8 pounds. That is in 2 weeks. Went from a stable 2226 to a stable 218. I say stable as at same time of day, just after waking and doing bathroom stuff and before 16oz mug of coffee.

Now at a stable 220 for last few days, and I feel like shit once again.

I feel much better on Keto, but demon drink got me.

The up side is when I drink I am playful and a fun person. When on Keto I am boring and don’t post much.

You all laugh at the keto diet thing but some of the meals I was eating were fucking awesome! But still hungry.

A food and nutrition post. Basically read the FDA approved nutrition label on the food you eat. Especially anything in a can.

Serving size is a great thing to look for. Generally serving size of a 16oz ish can of anything is 3.5 per can.

So, for today’s boring post we will take a can of Libby’s sliced carrots. Container weight is 14.5oz or 411g.

Serving size is 3.5 per can which is 117g per serving. You with me so far? That is accurate.

However, drain the carrots and you get 265g. So a serving of actual drained carrots is 265 / 3.5 = 75g of drained carrots.

So, if you did not do the math and took the nutritional value from the can and without thinking spooned 117g of nice sliced carrots but drained onto your plate you will be consuming 1.56 more of everything that you thought a standard serving was.

Calories on can 20 you eat 31. Carbs you think you ate 4g actual 6.4g

Oh, by the way lunch is liver and onions and canned carrots. The whole can of carrots as I like carrots.

Carrots will be 70 calories which is not much but 11g carbs

Liver and onions is calculated at a 180g serving of the pound of liver, an ounce of almond flour used to coat the liver, an ounce of coconut oil used to brown the liver in a skillet and 300g of sliced yellow onions. It made four 180g portions.

Liver and onions portion is 250 calories consisting of 15g fat, 23g protein and 10g carbs. There is carbohydrates in liver meat, unusual for a meat. Also the onion adds to the carb content.

Anyway my lunch of liver, onions and carrots will be 320 calories. Not bad, but what I have to watch is carbs. Meal will be 21g carbs.
Aiming for about 25g carbs per day, ideally under maximum 50g on a bad day otherwise I will go out of ketosis.

  81. Possum
    86 | May 5, 2024 12:46 pm

    Background.

Severely restricting carbohydrates in the daily intake of food causes the body to start using fat as a source of fuel. That process is accelerated by eating foods high in fat. And it is an awesome diet!!!!

Eat things like deviled eggs, burgers with cheese and no bun, all you can eat cheese.

But while eating all the good stuff you have to watch the calories. Otherwise you go into ketosis but you do not start to use your own body fat as food, you will put on weight.

I am currently eating under 1000 calories per day of really yummy things, eggs, cheese, meat and spinach and cauliflower and that soup thing which contains fuck all calories.

Now some of you will say ” but you may be lacking in vitamins and other needed minerals ”

Taking a one a day men’s supplement which if you read the label is not 100% of everything. Iron as an example is zero. But also taking a one a day women supplement that is a totally different percentage of minerals and includes iron.

Now, I am going to eat my liver…..

Gee…I wonder what “distinct population” they’re referring to?

Emergency Declared on Tuberculosis in California City: What to Look For

Authorities in a California declared a health emergency last week due to an outbreak of tuberculosis in Long Beach after it left at least one dead and more than a dozen infected.

The Long Beach city health officer issued the declaration on May 2 to increase resources for tracking, screening, and treating people who have been exposed in the outbreak linked to a hotel, the city health department said in a news release.

As of April 29, there were 14 cases. In addition to the single death, nine have been hospitalized at some point and about 170 people have been identified as likely to have been exposed.

The outbreak is currently isolated to a distinct population and the risk to the general public is low,” the department said in a statement. “The population at risk in this outbreak has significant barriers to care including homelessness and housing insecurity, mental illness, substance use and serious medical comorbidities.”

The statement added that people connected to a “single room occupancy hotel” were likely exposed, adding that “the name of the hotel will not be released.”

    @ eaglesoars:
I know that headphones and speakers can pick up radio signals right out of thin air. Back in the 70s I was laying in bed one night and I heard people talking. I did have roommates (college years) so at first I thought it was them. After I fell asleep the voices woke me up – then again and again and again. It was happening in the middle of the night now, long after I was sure everyone was in bed. You could hear the proverbial pin drop otherwise. Its started to freak me out and I mean chills, hair standing on end kinda thing and it also occurred to me that just maybe I was starting to lose my mind?
Finally I got up, turned on the light and just waited for the next sound. Maybe 20 minutes later it came again. The voices were faint so I couldn’t make out what was being said but what really freaked me out now was that they were coming from inside my bedroom, not 10′ from me !! I followed the sound, eliminating where it was / wasn’t coming from (the old ‘cold, no colder, warm … your getting warmer, HOT !” method of deduction). But there was nothing in the room but the dresser and a large, unhooked up PA speaker, that was it !! WTH ? And then, by deduction, I tracked it to the center of the PA speaker that was just there by itself up against the wall. Just a speaker though, no sound system, nothing else. The next day I shared the story with my friends and one says as nonchalantly as could be ‘Oh, yeah, your speaker was picking up the cab stand down the block, happens all the time here” and he then explained to me how it works.
Since I was a kid I had played with electronic equipment, stereos, stage equipment, mics and amps etc., a basement full of stuff and never once heard about this happen.
All gay I started to suspect more and more that maybe I was having my leg pulled so when I got back home that evening I did try talking into the cup of an old school set of headphones and I’ll be damned – it worked as a microphone. just as my roomate had described.
Got any cab stands around where you live ? Baby monitors ? Yup, the wife and I went through the same thing one night when the upstairs neighbors phone conversations started coming through our baby monitor which was down the hall in our first childs bedroom !

    Googled it:

Why are my speakers picking up radio signals?
If your computer speakers are picking up radio signals, you might be experiencing a radio frequency breakthrough interference. It occurs because the speaker leads are acting as an antenna and picking up the radio wave, converting it to an electrical signal.

    https://support.creative.com/kb/ShowArticle.aspx?sid=81333&c#:~:text=If%20your%20computer%20speakers%20are,it%20to%20an%20electrical%20signal.

OK you beat me on sputnik. Thing is that in the days of crystal radios you could pick up a signal from a radio station and the power you captured was also enough to make your headphones work. When you think about it there is a lot of potential sources of power in the air.

If I have a desire to listen to music I tend to pick something from Eastern Europe and then turn on the play next video thing and just go with it.

Then leave it outside my neighbours door.

The thing here is you put your speakers outside and blast music, or you sit in your truck in the street and open all the doors and do the same. Neighbour got two speakers the size of filing cabinets delivered last week. I must admit sound quality is very good.

It would be nice if they actually played something worth listening to.

Well, I think I need someone to look after me. Natasha is going nuts and attacking my right foot. She is doing what a cat should do, I put on fresh socks today and without me knowing there was a roach in one. She knew, I didn’t. Took off sock and shook roach out, put sock back on but she is still attacking my foot!

Took sock off and threw it, she can investigate further…

Actually she is going nuts and attacking the sock. Something ain’t right.

I am a cat person and I know cat shit. I sniffed my socks and realised they smelled of the washing fluid I used months ago and I threw away because it stinks. Some tropical flower shit.

I threw it away because of the smell, a disadvantage of ordering online. You cannot smell it first.

Anyway I remember when I used it just once Natasha would go nuts when I got into bed wearing my bed t-shirt. Obviously today I put on clean socks from deep down in the sock pile that were washed in the stinky detergent.

So the roach in my sock was not the problem.

Poor roachy, he just wanted a home.

    @ lobo91:

She sounds…. ‘angry’ ? No, actually they are good.
The only problem with music these days, to me at least, is that its ALL derivative. Semms I’m forever describing what it was like to hear sounds that were never made before and therefore never heard by human ears before Theres a big difference in playing a certain style and actually creating the style / sound in the first place. Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Dave Davies/Kinks, Richards/Stones, JIMI HENDRIX !! again, JIMI HENDRIX !!, Clapton/Cream,Blind Faith, Zeppelin, ZEPPELIN !!, Duane Allman/ Allman Bros, Pink Floyd, Sabbath, The Pistols. Sounds no human had ever heard before and blended in a way that was top notch music too, not just making sounds for sounds sake.
Well, then came ‘Rap’ and also the derivative bands, the cover bands.
To this day, when I hear Keiths opening riff to ‘Satisfaction’ (I still have my 2 blue labeled ‘London’ 45 rpms, worn grey ), before the fifth note is played, I have a grin on my face. Ditto for Dave Davies/Kinks ‘You Really Got Me’. They were songs that, when you first heard them, your eyes went to the speaker because you were grabbed by the spine and shook and you had to look at the speaker, the source of the sound that caused that feeling because you couldn’t believe what you were hearing. “HOW is he making that cool SOUND ?’ I literally had a friendly argument with my best friends father, an amatuer musician (sax) himself, just before we were about to watch on TV, the Stones play ‘Satisfaction’ for the first time. HE said it was a ‘sax’ that played the opening riff, I argued ‘Nope, thats his guitar’. He watched in vain for some sign of the sax player who never appeared. I took credit for knowing the answer when I really had no idea, just an educated guest (had never heard of the Stones having a sax player, so …. I think I was just in a contrarian mood plus I wanted to impress the girls (his daughters). Reckless, what if I was WRONG? My youngest bro tells me that my problem is just that I’m OLD. Maybe.
I read comments by young people talking: “Hendrix? Stevie was just as good, if not better !!” BUT, what they don’t understand, there probably wouldn’t have BEEN a ‘Stevie’ if not for HENDRIX !! Listen chronologically. But even at that, its still not the same, because you’ve already been exposed to the sounds since you were in a stroller. Boomers never heard those sounds prior to the above making them, including the parents who only heard it coming from someone else’s radio or stereo (‘HiFi).
I saw Zeppelin at the Garden in ’72, the night the footage for ‘TSRTS’ was shot and their hotel safe was robbed and man o’ manischewitz … talk about being ‘blown away’. Half of the material they played was brand new to me.
Anyway, forgot where I was now…wow its LATE. Time for this ol’ geezer to hit the sack and, if anyone bothered to read the above, well, I’ll check back tomorrow. ‘Nite all …

A special shout out though to Terry Kath/Chicago live in 1970 no less !!

    @ eaglesoars:

This may be a long shot but, over the course of my fairly long life, I’ve learned that anything is possible and the longer I live, the more ‘coincidences’ I’ve experienced are just mind blowing. So, having said that, do you happen to have a neighbor named Bob who now lives alone and enjoys coming over to take Mia out for walks ? I’m fairly certain the answer is ‘no’, but I have to ask.

As an example, last summer my son calls me from an outdoor weekend rock concert, many miles from anywhere I’ve ever lived, miles from where either of us live. He called me in between sets as they waited for the next band to take the stage. It wa fairly late in the evening so I was nervous when I saw his name on my caller ID. ‘This can’t be good’ I said to myself as I answer the phone. After pleasantries and I learn where it is that hes at this time of night. I didn’t remember that he had left town this weekend.
He follows with: ‘Hey dad, do you know a guy named XYZ ? I think I remember you once mentioning the name but …” and I interrupt, asking him to please repeat it again as my whole body is buzzing as I start to freak out. I’m going through the odds, various permutations, my head is burning up because, if I heard him correctly, wow, oh wow !! He repeats the name and as sure as hell its the name I thought I heard correctly the first time, but it didn’t make much sense. The guy is OLDER than me, hes hanging out with a 30 something year old guy (my son), they’re sharing wine, singing along, playing air guitar together, just having a grand ol’ time and after an entire day of having fun at this outdoor music fest my sons curiosity pushed him ask this stranger / new found buddy: “I’ve never seen you around before, you from around here ?” My son just thought due to the old guys age, it was a little unusual he would still be out there partying as he was. The guy says ‘No, I’m not from around here at all, I just got inspired and hopped in my car, alone, and drove all this way because I’ve always liked (fill in bands name, I can’t recall right now) to see them for my first time” (bucket list).
Now, back in the day I had a pretty unique nickname, one that I had told my son about one day when I was reminiscing about the Woodstock era times. “Yup, they used to call me (fill in the blank)”. It was a completely made up, very unusual nickname, nothing I, or anyone else I know, have heard since. And no, it wasn’t ‘Moon Beam’ or 4_Sticks, in fact, the name never existed before it was bestowed upon me, guaranteed.
On a hunch my son asks him where he hailed from and this guy says ‘No place you would know, its quite a ways from here and on top of that, most people have never heard of the place”. My son persists and asks ‘Would it happen to br ABC ?” The guy says “Yes, how the HECK did you know that ?” My son then aks, ‘ever heard of a guy called ‘123’ ?” The guy freaks and says YES and HOW in the HELL do you know HIM ?”. My son replies “Because hes my dad !” which totally blew the guys mind. They decide to call me. Now, even after my son repeated this guys name for me, my brain is thinking ‘NO WAY, impossible…’. I have only seen this guy maybe twice in the past 40 years but when I hear his unmistakable voice calling my name through my sons phone I’m beside myself. I first met this guy back in the 1950s when I started school with his younger brother. He was, in one way or another, in my life here and there over the years until I moved away in the early 1980s. What still freaks me out is, what if my son blew off the idea of asking him the question ? And is it just a random coincidence or was there something more to it ? Yeah, I believe its just the reason why we have the word ‘coincidence’ … and again, I hear the ‘Twilight Zone’ theme music.
Weirder, its one of the least unusual coincidences’ that have happened to me over the past 40 years. Actually, this one happened to all 3 of us.
If this old pal had told me on the first day of school back in 195X that the day would come when he would be partying with one of my sons in the year 2023, out in the middle of a field at a weekend rock concert … I mean, WTH ??
    So, now I always ask.

I grew up in Kansas City, but had an uncle living in New Mexico. We visited them one Thanksgiving, and drove into Mexico. When we came back across the border, My uncle was driving, my dad was in the front seat, and my mom and aunt were in the back with me.

The border guard asked my uncle a couple of questions, then looked across my dad and asked where we were from. When my dad told him, he said, I’ve got a buddy of mine that I shoot skeet with from Kansas City. He told him his name, and the guy lived two doors down from us.

    @ right_wing2:

Good one right wing2 !! Maybe you will enjoy these:

My wife and I moved from from where we grew up and while looking for houses we met a young couple who were trying to settle their grandmothers estate, part of which was a house in our new location. Long story short:
Noting this couple having a similar accent as mine I ask ‘Mind if I ask where you people are from ?’ Turned that they were our neighbors back in our old home town (not a rural area so we had never met them before).

The reason we were looking for a house was because I took a new job and it was in a rural mountain area. Day one I’m talking to a few of my new staff and, to our astonishment, the three of them grew up within 3 to 10 miles from from where I grew up, one who knew a family I was friendly with as a kid, the other who I watched get loaded in an ambulance many years before, right outside of my apartment back in the old town. Another one lived in a house that my childhood bedroom window, in the house I grew up in, actually ‘framed’ her house like a painting in a frame.
As all this is coming out i started to have a panic attack, it was just so unreal. For a minute there I thought my wife had set it up some kind strange practical joke. Nothing else made sense as there really was nothing else that made sense other than an amazing coincidence but the odds didn’t make likely and on top of the top stress causing events in my life at that moment (new location, new job, all new people, an infant just born, my father had passed away a few weeks prior, taking on a mortgage etc), it was just off the charts.

My wife takes a part time job in the evenings caring for an elderly woman.
Then, just about a year after my wife had been working with her, the family throws the old lady a 9X birthday party at which my wife finally meets the day shift lady who worked with this same elderly woman whose birthday it was.
Over the course of the past 10 months they only saw each other in passing though, at the change of ‘shift’, so to speak. Now, for the first time, they were having drinks together and they had a chance to sit and talk for a little while. It turned out that the ‘day shift’ lady was from the same town my wife and I moved from, she and her hubby were our upstairs neighbor, same apt house, 2 flights above us.
The drinks loosened things up a bit and the lady tells my wife that she had divorced her husband and moved away because he was a thief. My wife, who never met this lady before taking this job in our new town says to her, in part: ‘My husband was burglarized there, lost everything, in a day time burglary while he (me) was at work”. Turns out this burglar was not only a thief but the buildings super who had keys to all of the apartments and it was him, her HUSBAND, who burglarized me several years prior to me meeting my wife. He never got caught because the police never figured out how it was done. This lady even explained to my wife how this scumbag hubby pulled off these daytime burglaries.
So, knowing things were getting hot, he quit his job at the apt complex and moved back home – a mile up the road from where we (wife and I) were now living. She had divorced him though because of his criminal activities.
    ODDS ?

One of the places we looked at was an apartment to live in temporarily until we closed on a house. While being shown the kitchen I look down at an envelope and see that its addressed to …. ME. My exact name. The guy who lived there previously had apparently skipped town in the middle of the night leaving a lot of his personal stuff there, one being this bill from the electric company. Even the middle initial was the same as mine and the address of this apartment was the same street number as my birthday (day and month).
    ODDS ?

OK, done freaking myself out all over again and boring you nice people with my coinky-dinks, but it sure feels good ‘sharing’ !!

Anyone else besides right wing2 and I ? I love this stuff !

A food post, I scored a triple win tonight as regards food. Cooked a pork loin in a crock pot fat side up with herbs and chicken stock, but as you all know it is not the same as roast pork.

But! I am creative, after five or six hours cooking I had perfectly done and moist pork with half an inch of sloppy wet fat on top.

Into Mr Air Fryer it went, sloppy wet fat facing up, 400F 15 minutes and Voila! ( that is French for fuck me it worked! ) I have a juicy pork roast with a delicious crispy fat top.
    `
So that was two wins, juicy pork and crispy fat.

    But wait! There is more….

As you are aware I made an impulse buy of a five pound bag of tomato powder and that shit is weird. It does not taste of tomato straight out of the bag and it acts like cornstarch when it comes near water.

Tonight as an experiment and with nothing to lose I threw half a cup of tomato powder into the broth left after I boiled the pork for hours and the stuff set like a rock. A tomatoberg. Out came Mr Hand Held Blender that I rarely use because it is a bugger to clean and Voila! ( you already know what that means ) The best tomato soup I ever tasted.

It however needed chunks in it, which could be provided by adding a diced tomato, or celery or onion.

But an awesome way to use pork juice I would have thrown away.

This is from Apr 10. A friend just sent it to me. This is the first I’ve heard of this happening so I’m not sure I believe it was common. A soldier who refused the jab is – with permission – assaulted and held down by other soldiers.

    Thoughts?

What I see there is what’s known as a cell extraction, followed by someone administering a sedative to the subject. Video recordings of cell extractions are standard practice, since corrections personnel don’t typically wear body cameras.

Does that have anything to do with Covid shots? Got me. There’s no other information, aside from some screenshots of some sort of chat messages that might be completely unrelated (or fake).

Update for cheap bastards that do not pay for streaming.

Last night Blue Bloods and Fire Country aired but they have gone mushy. Also SWAT aired last night and is in danger of becoming mushy.

Elsbeth is also free on cbs dot com but after a couple of episodes cannot stand it. That woman drives me nuts.

Anyway all four latest episodes are now free online. nbc dot com make episodes free online about eight days after they air, so a week behind the current episode. The three Chicago ones were online last night, tonight three Law and Order are available.

Craving spinach, my body is telling me I am lacking something.

Probably I am lacking muscles, used to be called ” Noodle Arms ” last time I worked a construction job.

    AKA Spaghetti Arms….

Who knows these days. If it was a Covid take down then it’d leak for sure and it’d be all over the web. Yet these days anything is possible no matter how corrupt or evil. Looked like a cell take down with a needle to suppress reaction from the ‘victim’. Yet the cuffed guy didn’t look all that stunned post match so it may have been a Covid assault after all.

Either way it’ll be documented someplace and if it was a Covid take down then I hope that the ‘victim’ got millions in compensation. Trouble is that these days there would be a NDA included to protect the guilty bastards who ordered this travesty. No wonder that recruiting is in the toilet!

Got to be assumed that it’s fake and find out who and what we are dealing with first as the atmosphere is still raw when it comes to Covid mandates.

We walked the line pretty close during intel interrogations and I’m sure crossed a few lines that could have seen the officers involved cashiered. One night at zero-dark-thirty we unleashed two SAS ‘bricks’ against some trainee intel soldiers (female) in the women’s enlisted quarters as they were about to begin their interrogation training course. We needed true ‘shock of capture’ experience to alter their mindset and to destabilise them prior to an exposure to a capture experience. Pte. ‘Louisa’ was stoic as expected as she was late 20s and had her shit together. L/Cpl ‘Alexandra’ came from a sheltered family background , (mother and father were both Baptist Ministers). She resisted, and I told the Corps director that we were both in deep shit as senior directing staff if she took it further. Pte. ‘Louisa’ gave token resistance by refusing to pull on a boiler suit. They SAS trooper (dressed in full assault kit) just grabbed the top of her nighty and tore it off and then threw the boiler suit at her and tole her to ‘put it on’. She did and was cuffed and fitted with blackout goggles and thrown into the back of a jeep.

When L/Cpl ‘Alexandra’s resisted I told the director that we were both in deep shit if she pressed charges but he persisted and allowed the SAS to complete the take down and processing, and she ended up on the floor of a second jeep and on her way to the tunnel system where the course was being held. The guys on course were surprised but they processed their predicament, and the SAS ‘bricks’ just processed them and snatched them out of their beds and through their initial processing.

The DS Staff had certainly crossed a line but fortunately L/Cpl ‘Alexandra’ had a brother who was a Cpl already in the Intelligence Corps and during the medical and psychological processing calmed his sister down and her ability to give the DS a world of legal pain dried up.

Pte. ‘Louisa’ was a VERY smart woman with an IQ in the high 160s ended up being selected for Officer training, topped her course, and ended up a one Star by the time she retired. She was also one of our ‘star interrogators’. She married another civilian genius name ‘Kevin’ who started an IT outfit called General Dynamics NZ who supplied various defence contractors with bespoke software and built the shovel to collect Martian soil samples for analysis in a NASA project. He also got his doctorate from MIT and worked for JPL in California before starting his own companies. Mrs AI and myself were witnesses at their wedding! 🙂

It was pretty cool actually. We were invited to a Bar-B-Que and asked to wear a suit and Mrs AI a nice dress. That was a ‘combat indicator’ that something was afoot!
    🙂
Both Louisa and Kevin were both ‘re-treads’ and Kevin had an older son. His dad was a pastor of some sort and the last thing Kevin needed was to have his dad as the celebrant due to ‘water under the bridge’! Hence the Bar-B-Que and suits requirement!

I was the guy, who as the 2ic (XO of the Corps) proposed ‘Louisa’ as a suitable late entrant for Officer Training, which of course she totally ACED! She ended up as Reserve Forces Brigadier General (1 Star) representative to the CDF.

‘ Kevin’ the bridegroom has used a feedback loop App that replaced temperamental ‘moog-valves’ for precision hydraulic operating systems, that NASA was using as well as most airplane manufacturers. He replaced these delicate and ‘cranky’ systems with Mark I (brute force ‘dirty fingernail’ tech with an App feedback loop system that had no hi-tech over engineered tetchy to operate downsides. NASA was overjoyed and the dirt scoop on Mars, that had been built in ‘Kevin’s engineering shop (based in a wing of his home North of Auckland), where his engineers and IT guys worked worked a treat.
The same feedback loop tech Apps then totally screwed with the US controlled GPS satellite system, by writing an App that messed with the NSA’s ‘dithering’ of the Civilian based twin civil GPS systems. They were made less accurate than the three military systems, to prevent the civil systems gaining the accuracy that would allow them to be used for precision targeting, like the three military GPS systems.

This made the surveyors and civil GPS purveyors of all location dependant Apps very happy, but royally pissed off the Pentagon and NSA quite a bit. ‘Kevin’ s’ bit of ‘Kiwi kit’ was out there already however, and the NSA had to bite the bullet and UN-DITHER the two civil GPS systems, as they were now even more accurate than the three military systems. Kevin did however add to the already accurate capacity of the three military GPS systems.

That made ‘Kevin’ very happy $$$$ as well!

    🙂

    @ lobo91:

The PM who doesn’t know what truth is: Inside the hidden assumption in Albanese’s ‘misinformation’ bill that undermines its entire premise
There’s a very dangerous – and false – assumption in Labor’s “misinformation and disinformation” bill that threatens the integrity of our free-thinking liberal democracy, writes Kel Richards.

‘You can’t handle the truth!’ Jack Nicholson famously shouted in the movie ‘A Few Good Men’.
But the problem now seems to be—not so much handling the truth as knowing what it is.

We’ve all known for some time that the whole concept of truth has been under attack.

As Claire Lehman of the Quillet puts it: “In universities across the world, humanities departments have, over time, come to reject the notion that there is such a thing as objective truth.”

If they are right, there is no point in any debate or discussion about either the news or our opinions of the news.

If “what’s true for you” and “what’s true for me” are two different and equally valid things, then all we can do is fall silent.

    There is nothing to discuss.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese is preparing to introduce legislation to restrict “misinformation and disinformation” that would allow an unelected bureaucrat to direct websites on what is true and what is not.

Peter Dutton seems to support this idea.

But if there is no objective truth, how can any such ruling ever be given?

Does the very idea of having a “Truth Commissar” to rule on such make any sense?

It seems to me it’s time for someone to spell out the real meaning of “truth” in clear English.

    And I’m volunteering—so here goes:

    “Truth” means “how things are.”

    It’s not complicated.

It’s not “your truth” or “my truth” it’s just “how things are.”

If you say something that corresponds to how things are, then what you have said is true.

But if you say something that doesn’t correspond to how things are—what you have said is false.

If you have said something deliberately and intentional that is not how things are, then you have lied.

    This is called “disinformation.”

If you have innocently repeated something false (without realising it’s false) that is called “misinformation.”

But here’s where it gets complicated.

(You knew there was a “but” didn’t you?)

The government’s dangerous “misinformation and disinformation” bill assumes that every utterance fits into those two simple categories—true and false. But that hidden, unexamined assumption is itself false.

    It’s not how things are.

Here’s how things are: in reality there are lots of different categories of utterances: true, false, disputed, judgmental (opinions), figurative, jocular, and fictional.

And there might be more (those are the ones that spring readily to mind).

Take the controversial statement: “a man can become a woman.”

This is disputed because it all depends on what you mean by “man” and “woman.”

If you mean “a man (with a healthy, functional male body) can become a woman (with a healthy, functional female body” it is clearly false.

It is not how things are.

Even hormone therapy and surgery don’t create a womb or ovaries, so it is false.

But what if you mean something different by those two words “man” and “woman”?

If you mean “a man (who looks and behaves like a male) can become a woman (who looks and behaves like a woman)” that is clearly true—it is how things are.

So that basic utterance “a man can become a woman” is disputed.

And that’s where the government’s “misinformation” and “disinformation” bill is so dangerous.

It fails to recognise that some utterances are disputed.

That the meaning of some words can be disputed.

Or that some utterances are figures of speech—not to be taken literally.

Or some are jokes—jocular remarks that are not true or false, just funny.

Do we really need a “Truth Commissar” to pass rulings on what we can say on social media?

An unelected bureaucrat who will refuse to accept that an utterance is disputed, or opinion, or a joke, or a figure of speech?

Who will use what the police call “blunt force trauma” to bash away at the complicated, fragile business of human speech?

If the government gets away with this—be afraid.

    Be very afraid.
