Currently, numerous firefighters and other emergency crews are on the scene of a massive fire located in Rock Island, Illinois. The fire has spread throughout multiple buildings, including a barn with livestock cattle. Fire crews were initially overwhelmed by the massive fire, prompting a request for backup. Heavy flames and smoke can be seen for miles. It is believed that everyone is accounted for, and no injuries have been reported. However, multiple animals are presumed to have been killed in the fire. There is no determined cause of the fire at this time, and the investigation will begin once the fire is extinguished.

The guy was sent down when he fingered two Cabinet Ministers and a Prime Minister who were in bed with the Chinese. The system just couldn’t handle the scandal and he was told to just forget it all. There was also a huge mass of associated material that also linked both government and opposition members of Parliament to similar ’embarrassing situations’ with other nation States including the UK and US. The whole thing was explosive and he was told to forget and destroy everything he’d gathered, or the government would ask for his resignation. He resigned rather than be a party to the cover-up! Tomorrow I am going on a quest.
Finding Nikki. Or Nickie, or as she told me her FBI name is Nichole.
Hey I have an FBI name too!
Anyway no one has seen her at the local grocery store where she used to hang out. She told me she also frequented the gas station / convenience store about half a mile away. Currently it is cool enough that I can walk slowly there without dying of dehydration and heat stroke so I am going to give it a try.
We had a date to go get coffee and donuts but it never happened.
Tomorrow is going to be an adventure, I do not exactly fit in around here and if I start asking questions as to where she is, or has gone I do not think I will be welcomed.
For anyone who remembers my previous posts about her she is the young lady that was sleeping near an ATM one night when a gang arrived to rob it and woke her up. She told me ” If I had a gun I would have shot the motherfuckers! ”
Also she describes herself as not an African American, she is an American.

The mysterious high-altitude balloon spotted soaring the Western US Friday was simply a hobbyist device and has already left American airspace, according to a report.
Federal investigators tracked the small balloon, flying at an altitude between 43,000 and 45,000 feet, until it traversed beyond US lines sometime during the night, the North American Aerospace Defense Command told CBS News.
Fighter jets for NORAD, the nation’s airspace watchdog, intercepted the balloon shortly as it hovered over Utah Friday.

Shashi Tharoor, the Indian speaker at the Oxford University Union debate in the video (link below), was the UN’s youngest ever Under Secretary. He is now a major figure in the Indian Congress.
The video is at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f7CW7S0zxv4. Not many people know about this side of British rule.
I know that Roosevelt knew about the threat to Pearl Harbour that was being pushed by Churchill, and those in the US prior to the US entry to WWII who were isolationists were swept aside by the attack and Churchill got his American active partner in WWII. This at a time when things were taking a decidedly negative slant in Churchillian Britain, and the US were cashing in massively to the chagrin of Churchill’s parliament, as the US used Britain’s angst to further weaken British global power and advance the US rise and rise as the new global powerhouse.
Grand Strategy is only seldom exposed, to the Average Joe six-pack in the street, except in times of huge strategic change …. such as NOW!

Brennan Loves the Moors
—apologies to the ClancyBrothers Tommy Makem and “Brennan on the Moor”
It’s of an Obama nominee this story we will tell
He’s the clueless John Brennan, and in Washington he dwells
He likes to say “Inshallah,” and he talks about “al-Quds”
As Director of the CIA he’d be a major dud
Because Brennan loves the Moors
Brennan loves the Moors
How on earth can he defend us, when Brennan loves the Moors?
When working at the CIA (Clinton was Prez back then)
Brennan helped nix the Agency’s plans to kill bin Laden
So he helped bring 9/11 and helped the Twin Towers fall
While his boss Obama now spikes the bin Laden football
Because Brennan loves the Moors
Brennan loves the Moors
How on earth can he defend us, when Brennan loves the Moors?
When told of the twenty percent recidivism rate
Of released Gitmo detainees, he said, “We’re doing great!
Fifty percent is common for civilian criminals
So turning jihadis loose is an OK judgment call.”
Because Brennan loves the Moors
Brennan loves the Moors
How on earth can he defend us, when Brennan loves the Moors?
He was a driving force behind—or so it has been said—
The push to try in civil court Khalid Sheikh Mohammed;
The self-confessed murderer was a prisoner of war
But Brennan urged his status be summarily ignored
Because Brennan loves the Moors
Brennan loves the Moors
How on earth can he defend us, when Brennan loves the Moors?
Intelligence gathering John Brennan has contrived to thwart;
Despite wanting to try Khalid Mohammed in civilian court,
He has urged that jihadis be killed rather than captured
So interrogators will be unable to take down their words
Because Brennan loves the Moors
Brennan loves the Moors
How on earth can he defend us, when Brennan loves the Moors?
Now Brennan’s nominated to direct the CIA
If it should happen he’s confirmed, then he can give full play
To the policies that he’s endorsed time and then time again
To favor terrorists over guarding Americans
Because Brennan loves the Moors
Brennan loves the Moors
How on earth can he defend us, when Brennan loves the Moors?
Opps!
The first of the US supplied M1A1 Abrams has just burned…
The tank commander was reported to have been quoted from his hospital bed, that he knew that he’d left something in his other trousers that were at the dry cleaners.
His Iron Fist! Counter anti-armour kit.
Still this is just an export version M1A1 (no depleted uranium armour and just the ‘run of the mill’ tungsten armour) that was recycled from a refurbishment stock and pushed off to the Ukies. Still the Russians will be overjoyed in getting an ‘M1A1 kill’ notch on their belt.
Looks like an IR guided top armour attack that picked up the 1000+C hot spot from the gas turbine …. that can be seen from Space! The one serious flaw in the M1A1 / M1A2 system regardless of armour type is the oh so obvious signature of a white hot exhaust from the turbine. These days if you can see it you can kill it! Great for wars where the opposition doesn’t have much targeting capability. A bit different operating in 2024 however where the ‘other guys’ on the field can spot you with their ubiquitous IR systems, and communicate that quickly to an anti-armour system and shoot you easily.
Who’d be a ‘tready’ spam in a can these days?
The take away from this ‘woopsy’ is to never take your M1A1 or even your M1A2 out for a battle and leave your ‘Iron Fist’ in your other trousers!
🙂

As farmers across Europe protest for their livelihood, Bill Gates is promoting a company called Savor, in which he’s investing.
Savor is working to replace animal-based butter with synthetic butter. In a recent ad, Gates said:
“Animal fat is the secret ingredient that gives many foods their richness, juiciness, meltability, and overall flavor. But it’s bad for the climate, so Savor has developed a process to turn C02 and hydrogen into fat molecules like the ones we get from milk, cheese, and beef—without greenhouse gas emissions, animal suffering, or dangerous chemicals.”

Another food post. Lunch/supper is going to be meatloaf cooked at 350F for about 30 minutes then kept on the warm setting of 170F until I am hungry.
One cat who I will not doxx was pestering me thorough the creation of it. As on the worktop with his nose in it and yelling.
Mix consisted of a pound of ground beef, a small and finely chopped onion, a couple of teaspoons of marinara sauce ( I buy it and freeze it in a ziplock bag then break off chunks as needed ) an egg and half a french loaf that needed eating finely crumbled.
All mixed together and kneaded into a very nice consistency in a large stainless steel bowl while the cat in question was yowling and wanted to get some.
Plopped the mixture into a foil lined air fryer ( single man’s oven ) and to please the pestering cat I placed the bowl on the floor so he could finally get what he wanted. To lick it clean.
Anyone who knows anything knows onions are toxic to cats and dogs, albeit in large quantities, as are egg whites. Not worried as I knew what was going to happen.
Cat took a couple of sniffs at the bowl, then turned around and deposited a large quantity of urine into the bowl.
Cats do not like my cooking, but they like to watch me doing it.

egg whites are fine for dogs. I won’t feed them raw, but the girls get eggs – even deviled – every now and then. If they are ill, it’s chicken and rice, scrambled eggs etc.
@ eaglesoars:
48,000 rounds per minute? Seems just a tad high, since that’s about 8 times the max rate of fire of an M134 Minigun. And then there’s the minor issue of magazine capacity. The largest magazine I’ve ever seen for an AR holds 100 rounds. Ask them to explain the difference between the cyclic rate of fire and the effective rate of fire. Watch out for the exploding heads.

In moderation. Dogs are strange, their intestines are about four inches ling and what goes in one end does not stay in there long enough to get digested properly. I exaggerated about the four inches long but dog shit is still full of calories and nutrients when it comes out the back end.

First it did not mention that the place was run by an American company. Charging $44 for entry.
We use pounds sterling in the UK, so to gain admittance the parents would have had to go to the bank first and get £34.86 exchanged into $44
Secondly the article did not mention that when the children first entered the attraction they were given a complimentary box of sippy juice and a tab of acid.
The kids had a wonderful, and mind expanding, beautiful experience.
It was the parents that called the police, the kids love the place.

I actually stopped watching his videos because as you say it always goes the same way. No plates, no insurance, no licence, no driver side window, no car as it gets towed away.
It is not just a phenomenon in the USA, it is also a thing in Britain and Australia. Probably other non-English speaking countries too.

The joke was assuming the company was American as they paid in dollars to get in.
They probably did not. If I was a journalist I would have said in the article that “they paid £35 ( equivalent to $44 USD )”

A technical post.
One feature an Android phone has that an iPhone does not have. A light on the front. I have both types of phone and that is another discussion.
Anyway, an Android phone as I said has a light thing on the front. When on a charger the light is on constantly. But it flashes on and off if the phone wants to tell you something.
When not on charge the light comes on and flashes when you have a message, missed call, or battery is low. So that was a brief explanation of the light on an Android phone.
Bored yet?
Well, tonight, and this has happened before, here I am sitting watching streaming TV. For those interested Under The Dome but that is irrelevant to this issue. Based on a book by Stephen King ( spit ) but the adaptation so far is watchable.
Anyway back to the topic. Phone is on charge about six feet from where I am sitting on charge, within my peripheral vision, and I noticed that the light on it is blinking. Should be on constant unless I have a message or alert etc.
Pause TV show, get out of my comfy chair and go see what phone wants. Blinking light stops blinking, no messages or anything. This happened several times. I finally discovered why the light was blinking at me then stopped when I went to check the phone status.
Not telling anyone why. If the same thing happens to anyone else they can find out why themselves.

Now I have to drive to Albuquerque and back in the morning to pick up a new one, then become a circus contortionist to replace it. Hopefully, we’ll only be one day behind schedule.

Same for the hypersonic R&D that had a very long (20 years+) with the University of Queensland and the Australian National University with all of that testing in the desert at Woomera. DARPA part funded that R&D and it’s all locked up in DARPA projects. Same for the Boeing ‘Loyal Wingman’ UAVs produced at Bankstown in Sydney, that were grafted onto the F-35 development projects also with DARPA funding.
@ right_wing2:
The Loyal Wingman UAV was renamed the MQ28A Ghost Bat when Boeing Australia completed all of the testing and operational production. I still like the UAVs’ original name ‘Loyal Wingman’!

The multiple Thermonuclear shots were done off shore at Christmas Island off the Western Australian coast.
OK I know you are mystified and intrigued as to the light on my phone was flashing when it was by the bed on charge six feet away and every time I got up and went to see what phone demanded of me the light stopped flashing and stayed on constantly.
It was a fly, wiggling its fly like ass over the charger light.
Go to phone fly flies away, walk away from phone and fly flies back.
Anyway it amused me…
Well, the Baja expedition is underway, just a day behind schedule. Cody and I are spending the night in Buckeye AZ,which is one of the Phoenix suburbs.
Some guy on x who goes by the nic of John Galt has started a shit storm. He saw a label on his Hellman’s mayo jar that says something like CONTAINS BIOENGINEERED INGREDIENTS.
And people just lost it. I’M THROWING IT OUT, IT’S DUKES FOR ME yada yada yada.
Some new labelling standards have come into effect. BIOENGINEERED means GMO.
The stuff uses soy etc., and all those seeds have been genetically modified over time, mostly to resist pests.
Some people have noted that it’s very easy to make your own mayo with olive oil, eggs, mustard etc.
Yes it is.
And all THOSE ingredients have been BIOENGINEERED.

https://www.google.com/search?q=crunchy+mayonnaise and did not realise other sick freaks were doing what I do.
Coat something in mayo then roll it in flour or breadcrumbs and bake or fry it.
Mayo is basically egg and oil. Many fried or baked things get you to dip the item in egg first then bread it. Using mayo adds oil to the coating.
So crispy mayo. Chunks if you mess up the rolling part.

Now Trump has to get the SC to agree that former Presidents have immunity for decisions made during his term …. FOREVER!
Otherwise every US President past and president can be tied up in the courts for the rest of their lives and would probably be jailed in some cases. That would destroy the US system of governance.
Perhaps that was the plan all along?
Clinton, Bush W, Obama, Trump, and Biden could share a cell. If the SC is not thinking ahead it may just destroy the USA!
But that is what a large number of nutters want. If they get what they want then as history tells us it is THEY who will be first against the wall. Obviously they are NOT readers!

I would have looked it up myself when I saw the label, but last night I discovered that Jack Teagarden had a brother, Charlie, and both played in The Benny Goodman Orchestra when they recorded Riffin’ the Scotch in 1933. Gene Krupa was also in that lineup, and I was trying to find out whether the 2nd trumpet was Shirley Clay or Mannie Klein. I think it was Clay.
Besides the all-star lineup, it was also Billie Holiday’s first recording. She was 18 years old.

It involved chicken and corn starch. I has mayo.

Strictly speaking, executive orders only apply to federal employees of the executive branch. Most recent ones would likely be found unconstitutional if they ever went before SCOTUS. But that would upset the bipartisan gravy train.

Actually that would make the US President a figurehead like the Crown in the UK and Governors General throughout the Commonwealth. BUT without the ‘Reserved Powers’ as C in C of the Armed Forces and the right to disestablish a sitting government in cases of serious malfeasance and require new elections to be held within no more that a month or two. Meantime public governance would continue at the will of the King or Governor General in the case of Commonwealth member States.
Don’t say it never happens!
In the 1970s the Australian Governor General appointed by the Queen from a short list suggested by the Australian Prime Minister, suspended the Australian government both of the House and Senate in a 9double dissolution) and demanded new elections for ALL politicians within 6 weeks. The opposition swept to power and the former PM resigned forthwith. The former Leader of the Opposition in the House was then sworn in as Prime Minister!

US to Sell Off Entire Northeast Gasoline Supply Reserve
Under a bill providing funding for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) for the fiscal year, a million barrels of the government’s strategic reserve of petroleum would be sold off—the same amount as in the NGSR, which is located in New York Harbor, Boston, Massachusetts and South Portland, Maine.
“Upon the complete of such sale, the Secretary [of Energy] shall carry out the closure of the Northeast Gasoline Supply Reserve,” the bill states, and “may not establish any new regional petroleum product reserve unless funding of the proposed regional petroleum product reserve is explicitly requested in advance in an annual budget.”
The proceeds of the sale are to be deposited into the Treasury’s general fund, and the proposed appropriations act provides stipulations for the sale of the oil and the use of the money generated by it.
Congress is expected to pass the package, which is the result of cross-party negotiations, with votes set to take place this week. Negotiations on a further six spending bills continue.
