NCAA D1 College Football Week 8 2017 OPEN

by coldwarrior ( 49 Comments › )
Filed under College Football, Open thread at October 21st, 2017 - 9:00 am

The next three weeks are the most important for PSU since their 1982 National Championship Run. Coach Franklin has done one hell of a job with the program since the boy-rapist and his BFF Paterno destroyed the place. Coach Franklin is to be highly commended, even from this PITT grad.

So, let’s get on with it, shall we?

‘Bama, PSU, UGA, and TCU remain undefeated and are the top 4. These are the playoff teams right now. The top 3 don’t play each other this season and control their destiny.  I don’t see TCU making into the playoffs so that leaves a spot for a one loss team provided the top 3 win out…provided the top three win out, well, given the way this season is going that won’t happen either.

Pittsburgh

12:20 PM

My beloved and very pathetic PITT Panthers are getting 8 points at Duke. This is so sad. The program is i disarray and the alumni are sad. I don’t even want to make a prediction on this but I will. The Blue Devils Beat the spread.

Tennessee

3:30 PM

The Vols have to travel to Bryant-Denny Stadium to face the Tide. Vols are getting a ridiculous 36 points in Reno. I would like to think that the Vols can beat that spread.

#11 USC

7:30 PM

This is a classic rivalry and is always a great game, so much history here between these two teams. USC is getting 3 at the Touchdown Jesus. The Bruins are the underdog here. Their offensive line is decimated. USC will win this and QB Darnold will show why he will be playing on Sundays.

#19 Michigan

7:30 PM

This is another classic game with a ton of history. PSU will win at home. I should be able to hear the fans at Happy Valley from my house some 150 miles away. M is getting 10 on the road and I think the game will be closer. M covers.

Good morning. The Norte Dame/ USC game is a playoff elimination game. The loser will have two losses and drop
out of the discussion. The winner will need to run the table and at least one of the top four teams needs a loss (that
    will happen)
CW is a good prognosticator , but i have to disagree this time. ND has them at home and you can cut the mystique
with a knife. You have Touchdown Jesus , Number One Moses, the Golden Dome and the ghosts of Rockne, Leheay
and Parsegian will be in attendance. ND will have their quarterback Winbush 100% after an injury two weeks ago.
Irish will shake down the thunder!

The title of the callous piece was as unfounded as it was idiotic: “Is Melania Leaving President Trump? After Body Double Rumors, You can Now Bet On It.” Citing Irish bookmaker Paddy Power, Dupuy stated that chances of a split between the President and First Lady was “25 percent more likely” and, according to the same bookmaker, that Trump had a 60% chance of being impeached.

This isn’t the first time Paddy Power has predicted a parting of ways for the President and his model wife: the betting organization previously gave a Whitehouse divorce 16-1 odds. Furthermore, in March in Europe, stated odds were 5-1 that The Donald’s marriage would end before his term did. Regarding the current prediction, Paddy Power released a statement:

“It looks like a case of Donald Dumped, if the conspiracy theorists are anything to go by.”

Last week, the Left went berserk due to rumors that a body double was traveling in Melania’s place; however, The Washington Post discredited the conspiracy theory. Referring to “Doublegate,” Dupuy stated:

“[The] hashtag #MelaniaBodyDouble continued to trend on Wednesday with users claiming that the First Lady’s body double was the Terminator, her bodyguard or mouthy lead Aerosmith singer, Steven Tyler.”

Related to the body-double conjecture, Dupuy noted that Paddy Power “will also pay out 33/1 if the President confirms the body double rumor, and has made it an 8/1 shot that Melania Trump takes up with another man during the first term.”

    Dupuy added:

“The smart money is always on the house, but all bets are off with this White House.”

Soros money can be found in 90% of this kind of crap. It’s odd but I don’t remember this odds maker talking about Hillary’s body double during the election, nor do I remember any of the people spreading this rumor talking about it. Interesting since it was a far more likely situation.

Happy today. Found a keto friendly carbonated drink that isn’t any of those horrible chemical filled diet sodas. Bai Rioja Root Beer. 10g of carbs but all from Sugar alcohol. Tastes good, no aftertaste. No effect on blood sugar. Plus it’s at my local discount grocers (one of those places that sells smashed and dented, near expiration stuff). Now I just have to see if they make other flavors.

Madrid’s moves to take back some powers from Catalonia are the “worst attack since the dictatorship of Franco”.

The Catalan leader Carles Puigdemont was reacting to the Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy’s announcement that he has approved implementing the previously unused Article 155 of the country’s constitution to assume control of the region in a bid to thwart secession attempts.

Mr Puigdemont said Mr Rajoy had set out to “humiliate” Catalonia in an “attack on democracy”.

you have no right to self-determination

I’ll almost guarantee he was doing it still. The thing is 2000-2008 were a big deal for the dems. For some reason Soros sent one of his major operatives to live here and “work” for a press outfit while manipulating the elections. Not quite sure what the end game was for them but they were really interested in MT and were putting a lot of money here. Same thing is happening right now, we’re getting tons of campaign ads that aren’t legally campaign ads from the dems. A whole bunch of “Support John Tester” and “Ryan Zinke is evil” bullcrap that I really don’t understand exactly how they are legal.

Chinese President Xi Jinping ‘Foiled Coup Plot’ to Seize Control of Communist Party

The expulsion and criminal investigation of once-rising political star Sun Zhengcai from the ruling Chinese Communist Party was sparked by a plot to overthrow President Xi Jinping, a senior official has said.

Sun, 54, former party secretary of the southwestern megacity of Chongqing, had plotted to seize power from the current leadership, the chairman of China’s securities regulator Liu Shiyu told a meeting of top finance officials during the 19th party congress.

Sun and other senior figures were “great not just in venality and corruption but in conspiring openly to usurp party leadership,” Liu said.

He also mentioned former Chongqing party chief Bo Xilai, his political mentor and former minister for state security Zhou Yongkang, and former general Guo Boxiong, all of whom are currently serving life prison terms for corruption and other forms of misconduct.
