NASCAR Week (-)1. (ahandnflwake12) Go Martin Go!

by Crackerbox Palace ( 96 Comments › )
Filed under Uncategorized at November 26th, 2017 - 12:45 pm

NASCAR crowned a brand-new first-time champion last week at Homestead. Martin Truex Jr. Martin had an outstanding year this year in NASCAR and even with the points reshuffling managed to pull off the championship win.  Martin’s sponsor changed this year – he now is the Furniture Row car.  He used to be the Bass Pro Shops car.  I have to say I’m happy to see the end of the Jimmie Johnson string of championships – we’ve had a new one every year for the last five or six years.

In other NASCAR news, Danica Patrick announced her “retirement” from NASCAR. Sorry, bikini girl, you brought nothing to the sport, and you didn’t merit the ride you had. Liberals will miss you; hard-core race fans are happy that the tracks are once again safe for their drivers.

All I have to say about the NFL this week – and I’m going to be worse than smarty here – I’m going to be downright mean. I want to see Marshawn Lynch get a career-ending non-serious injury soon – preferably at the hands of a huge defensive player with a brother or sister serving in Afghanistan. You can exit stage left any time, “Beast.” Not even the fact that you played for my alma mater can make me wish you well at this point, you grandstanding a-hole.

Playing on Sunday
Buccaneers @ Falcons
Browns @ Bengals
Titans @ Colts
Bills @ Chiefs
Dolphins @ Patriots
Panthers @ Jets
Bears @ Eagles
Seahawks @ 49ers
Saints @ Rams
Jaguars @ Cardinals
Broncos @ East Bay Social Justice Warriors
Packers @ Steelers

Playing on Monday
Texans @ Ravens

In the NHL, three good matches I think. And thank you all for explaining icing and the blue line. I think I have it!

Nashville @ Carolina
Vancouver @ NY Rangers
Edmonton @ Boston (on the NHL network!)

In the PGA, it appears the tour will be staying in and watching hockey and recovering from the after affects of L-Tryptophan.

In the NBA, someone tell LeVar Ball to stick an effing sock in it.   Next time Trump can leave your little criminal to rot in China and then you can get your pals Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton to get him out.  And considering the Chinese have a mindset – “what can you do for US” and the poverty pimps’ collective answer would be “nothing”, the only TV coverage you’d get would be them getting kicked OUT of the country that your thieving dirtbag offspring stayed IN.

blow it out your ass, vicar

LONDON — England’s top religious authority, the archbishop of Canterbury, said Sunday that he doesn’t understand why so many Christians in the U.S. support President Donald Trump.

The Most Rev. Justin Welby told ITV’s “Peston on Sunday” program that he “really genuinely” can’t comprehend why fundamentalists have provided such a strong base for Trump.

“There’s two things going through my mind: Do I say what I think, or do I say what I should say? And I’m going to say what I think,” he said on the show, referring to the support Trump has garnered, especially from so-called Evangelical Christians. “No, I don’t understand it. I really genuinely do not understand where that is coming from.”

    https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/3133668/bulgarian-migrant-hunter-buys-helicopter-gunship-refugees-jihadists/

A Bulgarian migrant hunter with a arsenal of military vehicles has purchased a helicopter gunship to round up refugees or “potential jihadists.” It’s highly probably that he has been granted immunity by the Bulgarian government.

FYI: An associate of mine visited Bulgaria and Romania in June and highly recommend the former. Sofia, the capital, is a culturally-rich (opera, ballet, symphony, great museums, good food), livable, cosmopolitan city where many residents speak English. (Riga, Plovdiv and Burgas are other good options in Eastern Europe).

Also, unlike their Romanian neighbors, the Bulgarians SAVED their Jews during the Holocaust. (Both countries have known life under the Ottoman Muslims and the Soviet Communists).

(Major negative: Bulgaria lacks a formidable military).

Anti-Trump MSNBC Host Joy Reid Thinks Rural Americans Are ‘Core Threat’ To Democracy

MSNBC host Joy Reid thinks that rural Americans are “the core threat to our democracy” and pointed to a series of tweets by liberal author Jared Yates Sexton that claimed Trump supporters “do not believe in the Constitution or any founding principles unless they’re advantageous” as proof of her far-left theory.

“By 2040, about 70% of Americans are expected to live in the 15 largest states. They will have only 30 senators representing them, while the remaining 30% of Americans will have 70 senators representing them,” MSNBC producer Kyle Griffin tweeted over the weekend.

Reid, who tweets so often that it’s amazing she finds time to do anything else, has a feed that is essentially the anti-Trump talking points of the far left on a daily basis. While Sexton never specifically mentioned the “rural minority” in his rant, the MSNBC host took it upon herself to quote Griffin’s tweet add her own commentary tied to Sexton’s thread.

“This is the core threat to our democracy. The rural minority — the people @JYSexton just wrote a long thread about — have and will continue to have disproportionate power over the urban majority,” Reid tweeted.

As for Cokie Roberts, a lot of people don’t know that her father was Hale Boggs, a famous adulterer who lived openly with his lover except for the one week a year his wife came to town. His wife, Lindsey, took his seat after he died. Cokie thinks this is just the way the town works, and who’s to say she’s wrong, given the evidence?

Bingo. Sometimes it’s better – for the time being – for the justices NOT to grant cert on a case that isn’t narrow enough in it’s scope. Remember – once they rule, it’s the rule. I just saw this this morning so I haven’t read the Maryland opinion.

I hope everyone had a marvelous and wonderful Thanksgiving – my cat Bumpkin decided to knock the router/modem off the shelf Wednesday night and we were without internet the entire weekend, and using LTE on my iPad is a pain in the neck with the way Apple has configured the keyboard on its touch devices. Africans are being sold at Libyan slave markets. Thanks, Hillary Clinton.
‘We came, we saw, he died,’ she joked. But overthrowing Gadhafi was a humanitarian and strategic debacle that now limits our options on North Korea.

Black Africans are being sold in open-air slave markets, and it’s Hillary Clinton’s fault. But you won’t hear much about that from the news media or the foreign-policy pundits, so let me explain.

Footage from Libya, released recently by CNN, showed young men from sub-Saharan Africa being auctioned off as farm workers in slave markets.

And how did we get to this point? As the BBC reported back in May, “Libya has been beset by chaos since NATO-backed forces overthrew long-serving ruler Col. Moammar Gadhafi in October 2011.”

And who was behind that overthrow? None other than then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

Under President George W. Bush in 2003, the United States negotiated an agreement with Libyan strongman Gadhafi. The deal: He would give up his weapons of mass destruction peacefully, and we wouldn’t try to depose him.

That seemed a good deal at the time, but the Obama administration didn’t stick to it. Instead, in an operation spearheaded by Clinton, the United States went ahead and toppled him anyway.

The overthrow turned out to be a debacle. Libya exploded into chaos and civil war, and refugees flooded Europe, destabilizing governments there. But at the time, Clinton thought it was a great triumph — “We came, we saw, he died,” she joked about Gadhafi’s overthrow — and adviser Sidney Blumenthal encouraged her to tout her “successful strategy” as evidence of her fitness for the highest office in the land.

It’s surprising the extent to which Clinton has gotten a pass for this debacle, which represents a humanitarian and strategic failure of the first order. (And, of course, the damage is still compounding: How likely is North Korea’s Kim Jong Un to give up his nuclear weapons after seeing the worthlessness of U.S. promises to Gadhafi?)

Back during his brief stint in the Democratic primary, former senator James Webb raised the issue, saying America “blew the lid off of a series of tribal engagements. You can’t get to the Tripoli airport right now, much less Benghazi.” But as the Libya disaster continues to unfold, Clinton’s role in it gets surprisingly little attention.

    NORKS launched another missile

White House: Trump briefed on North Korea’s launch while the missile was ‘still in the air’

WHILE it was in the air? How long do those things fly? He’s got a presser at 3 pm, don’t know if it’s this or tax stuff

Tax bill is out of the Senate Committee. Trump cut a deal about the AHCA subsidies for 2years if the mandate is repealed. That’s what it looks like

Too bad Chuck and Nancy bailed on that WH mtg, they just got run over.

    @ eaglesoars:

Remind me again how all of this is TRUMP’s fault, there, media.
HE didn’t give Kim Dong Fat Boy’s progenitor nuclear capability – CLINTON did.
HE didn’t kick the effing can down the road for almost 20 years – CLINTON, BUSH and OBAMA did.
What he’s done is what the previous three WOULDN’T do – tell the little sh*tbag to knock it off.

Nuclear war? We don’t need no steeenkin’ nuclear war, Fat Boy. We have the MOAB. A couple of those on your imperial palace and everybody in North Korea asks to be airlifted SOUTH.

    @ Deplorable Barbarian:

Hillary just came out (before the launch) telling everybody to stop provoking L’il Kim if we want to avoid war. Insert eye-roll here.

I don’t know what comprises Japan’s ‘exclusive economic zone’. I assume it landed in a body of water somewhere and not actually on land. The undercurrent to this is really between China and Japan because they keep picking at each other. What China can’t threaten Japan with directly, they can use the Norks to threaten them indirectly. “See? Whatever can we do,they just won’t LISTEN. Oops! There goes another one!”

    @ eaglesoars:

And what I can’t get over is that the irrelevant harpy made these idiot statements in BEIJING!

I am finding much of this amusing. The Democrats are doing everything possible to get the Clintons to go “gently into that good night” and they’re so incredibly power crazy they refuse to see the handwriting on the wall. The Beastie doesn’t realize they are saying in no uncertain terms they will no longer be glossing over the antics of her sexual predator husband and/or her role in slut-shaming his victims.

I’m seriously considering the idea that Beastie really DID go off the deep end when she lost that election – much like Gore did in 2000 – except in her case there is some genuine mental illness going on there.

Does this make sense to anybody?

South Korea’s @YonhapNews says North Korea’s ICBM flew roughly 2,800 miles into space, the highest missile test to date. Note: NASA’s international space station orbits earth only 250 miles up in space

nope. If they ‘go quietly’ they will need guarantees that they will be left alone and not prosecuted. It’s not power-crazy, it’s fear of incarceration and loss of all wealth. Nobody is going to give them those guarantees so they HAVE to fight for the power, it’s the only thing that protects them. Even they can’t blackmail everybody

Most excellent point – as always.

And Intelligence Community Inspector General Charles McCullough III has put out there that Beastie was making threats if he kept looking at the emails.

    http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2017/11/27/blowback-clinton-campaign-planned-to-fire-me-over-email-probe-obama-intel-watchdog-says.html

Yeah, they want to stay out of jail. But in many ways they don’t realize they are a pair of toothless tigers in some way. They have nothing to threaten anyone with. So for the first time, it appears people are coming out against them.

See, that’s the thing about bad bosses who use fear and intimidation, based upon their position, to get their way. When those bad bosses lose power for any reason, the people whom they have been repressing push back and make sure they don’t get power back.

… and the Clintons are the textbook case of bad bosses — Hillary especially. The stories of how she treats “the help” are legendary.

Ok, it’s been an hour and a half and osprey hasn’t shown up so I’ll post this.

Macker called about 9:20 and said he ended up back in the hospital w/more pain. They admitted him and moved up the surgery to tomorrow morning. He said he’d spoken to Osprey and Osprey said he would post to let everyone know, but I have to go to bed and Macker asks for prayers so I wanted to be sure that’s done.

Some good news – CAT scan showed no spread to his chest, but sonogram on the kidneys seemed to be ambiguous so they need more info on that, but they’re going in regardless. He does have family with him,he’s not alone.

    so…ok,nite.
