Something About an Election in ‘Bama

Today is the special election in ‘Bama. The Dems are 0-5 during the Trump Presidency and are facing a tough road game in very Conservative Alabama. Vegas has Jones a two point dog on the road against Judge Moore. Given the staunch resilience and superb defense of the ‘Bama voter and the ineptitude of the Dem offense (especially on the road) Moore beats this spread easily and takes his seat in the US Senate

If you think there’s no cultural divide in this country, this race should have disabused you of that mistake. I don’t recall ever seeing such tone-deaf, ignorant behavior in my entire life. The Left INSISTS that everybody be ‘sensitive’ to muslims, who, by and large, want western civilization gone. But a good-ole boy southerner who carries an evangelical version of Christianity like a banner – well, that’s an existential threat to everything that’s good and decent, including young girls, but not the kind Anna Wintour would put on the cover of her magazines in a state of deshabille.

Good morning. Polls all over the place, but Moore should win. Then do they try to remove him in spite
of the decision of the voters?

If Mootre wins they will play a deck of race cards , and of course the allegations by the women.
Most of all they will smear Trump.

A caller to either Rush or Levin from Alabama pointed out that the South has never forgotten or forgiven the Northern Carpetbaggers after the “War of Northern Agression”. The fact that the Washington Post went down there not to just report but to influence the election and destroy the Republican candidate is not lost on native “Bamans.

Bingo. Moore’s defense of the 10 Commandments meant something to them. A Yankee liberal paper trying to destroy him doesn’t sit well. Of course, we’ve since learned it was a Jeb Bush operative that sic’d WaPo on Moore. That’s not going to make many happy either.

  21. 21 | December 12, 2017 3:47 pm

    @ coldwarrior:
    @ Deplorable Macker:

Allred has NEVER had to produce one of these so-called victims she parades out on cue against every Republican in a high-profile case to be deposed or be sworn under oath or subjected to cross-examination. And if you watch, it’s always Allred with her arm around the “victim”, as they tearfully “dab” the tears from their eyes as a result of reliving the HORRORS they endured.

For instance, Nelson has never had to confront the individuals who have said she’s lying through her teeth. My cross of her would be:

“You’ve testified that your boyfriend was supposed to pick you up and you were afraid he wasn’t going to make it, so I would like to ask you a few questions.”

“What time was he supposed to pick you up?”
“When he did not pick you up, did you call him to ask if he was coming? Your diner had a phone.”
“If he was not planning to pick you up, why didn’t he call YOU at the diner – I mean, even if he didn’t know the number, there WERE Yellow Pages back then, he could have called and told you.”
“Please indicate where the back parking lot is that Judge Moore drove to.”
“After you were assualted, did you go back to the diner and ask them to let you in?”
“Did you make a report to the police? Why not?”

After all, there’s a BIG difference between “Speechifyin'” and “Testifyin'”…..

    um…………

    ——–
federal judge in Washington, D.C. has recused herself from a second case involving Trump dossier firm Fusion GPS.

Tanya S. Chutkan, an Obama appointee, recused herself on Monday from a case involving a dispute over subpoenas issued for Fusion GPS, the firm that commissioned the dossier.

Aleksej Gubarev, a Russian tech executive accused in the dossier of hacking Democrats’ computer systems, has sought to subpoena Fusion GPS records and to depose its employees to find out more about the research firm’s work on the dossier.

They may have to transfer these cases out of the D.C. District the way judges are recusing themselves.

Of course, they’ll transfer to District of Maryland or Eastern District of Virginia. Would cause widespread panic if it landed in, say, the Eastern District of Tennessee.

Not to mention people just cancelling Direct TV since they will no longer need it for Sunday Ticket. Ever since AT&T acquired it, customer service has been abysmal and prices have been jacked up. My problem though, is I refuse to have Comcast since it means I’d be paying the salaries of the folks at MSNBC.

Theranos had two class actions filed against them to my knowledge – one in the District Court for the Northern District of California and one in Arizona. I’d have to check PACER in the D.C. District to see what may have been filed there. However, since Theranos is a California-based corporation, I would think the actions would be brought in the jurisdiction where the defendant resides, which is custom.

    BINGO!!

Chutkin was a partner at Boies Schiller, the law firm that represented Theranos at least thru Aug 2013.

Obama nominated her to the bench Dec 2013

    AND

Fusion worked to blunt aggressive reporting on the medical-device company Theranos, which was later found to have problems with its novel blood-testing technology. It was also hired to ward off scrutiny of the nutritional supplement company Herbalife, which ultimately paid $200 million to distributors to settle claims by regulators.

Remember that today McCabe was supposed to testify before the House Intel Comm. and backed out, with somebody making a vague comment that he has “an Ohr problem”?

    Here’s the problem.

Fusion GPS hired Nellie Ohr to help out with op research on Trump vis a vis Russia. At Bruce Ohr’s invitation, Glenn Simpson of Fusion GPS met with Ohr to discuss her work.

Remember that Ohr was supposedly demoted for not telling his superiors he had ‘some contact’ w/Fusion?

McCabe’s problem appears to be that he’s got no good answer for why Ohr wasn’t fired on the spot.

    @ right_wing2:

And if they don’t exist they’ll make them up. Which is one of the reasons I hope Moore DOES follow through on his threatened lawsuit. I’ve long believed these Allred clients are simply making stuff up or exaggerating the events of what would normally be a harmless incident – and after their 15 minutes are over and the harm has been done, they retreat from the limelight, never to be heard from again. Once ONE of these – especially a fraud like Nelson, is held responsible in a courtroom for making these allegations, maybe it won’t be so easy for them to pull this the next time.

    @ rain of lead:

Yes we do. And candidates not coming up to snuff need to be outed in the damn primary. And Mitch McConnell needs to keep both his nose and RNC Senate Campaign funds out of primary elections. Had this election been between Mo Brooks and that asshat, Brooks would have beaten him handily.

I’d like to know whose name was on those write-in ballots. If it was Luther Strange and not Mo Brooks, I smell a McConnell rat.

I can just imagine the phone call between Franken and Jellybrain this morning.

“So, Al, looks like Moore lost in Alabama.”

“Yeah, I know, but that doesn’t change anything, right.”

“Well, it sorta does. You see we all ganged up on you for the optics and called for you to resign, and you did – great presser by the way – because we thought that Moore guy was going to win. That’s why we told you to say ‘I WILL be resigning’ because you know, once he won, we’d be able to keep you.”

    “But he didn’t win.”

“I KNOW! Who knew – those GOP voters weren’t all that convinced – I was SURE those backward toothless idiots would still vote him in! Un-for-tune-ate-ly, this means that we aren’t going to be able to save you by pointing to the Senate seating Moore. Looks like you’ll have to leave after all. Our bad, Al.”

    “F**K you, Krissy.”
