…this should be a barn-burner of a speech!

Do we get ‘The Memo’ today? Are more swamp rats going to ‘retire’

CNN reporting Trump wants the memo released, but after his speech

it’s not clear what ‘after his speech’ means. Next year is ‘after his speech’

oh this should be good. In order to get into the Capitol bldg, you have to show ID. And even more, depending why you’re there. Hubby had a meeting w/Schumer’s staff yesterday and his SSN had to be pre-submitted ahead of time, id’d at security, then a staffer had to come get him and escort him to the meeting. It makes no difference that he’s been around for decades.

So the Dems want to bring Dreamers to the SCOTUS? How are they going to get them in? They don’t have legal SSNs. It seems a Congress Critter has noticed.

    Rep Paul Gosser:
    ————–

Today, Congressman Paul Gosar contacted the U.S. Capitol Police, as well as Attorney General Jeff Sessions, asking they consider checking identification of all attending the State of the Union address and arresting any illegal aliens in attendance.

Additionally, Congressman Gosar asked that they arrest those using fraudulent social security numbers and identification to pass through security.

Sarah Sanders has shot that down. POTUS hasn’t seen it, hasn’t been briefed on it, nor asked for its release

    CNN fucks up again.

So this is the next play in their increasingly deranged playbook

    ———–
MSNBC panelist John Heilemann asked two different guests on Monday whether they believe Republican Rep. Devin Nunes (Calif.) is now a Russian agent.
    []
“Doesn’t his behavior speak of that, though?” Heilemann asked. “I mean, I’m not the first person who’s raised this. He’s behaving like someone who’s been compromised, and there are people in the intelligence community and others with great expertise in this area who look at him and say, ‘That guy’s been compromised.'”
    []
“Congressman Nunes, your chairman, it is suggested not by me but by people who follow these matters closely, could he possibly be someone who has been compromised by the Russians?” Heilemann asked. “Is that something that you consider a possibility?”

    http://freebeacon.com/politics/msnbc-analyst-asks-democrats-if-devin-nunes-has-been-compromised-and-become-a-russian-agent/

I don’t know who comes up with this stuff, but they need a better script writer

Dennis Kucinich calls for end to oil and gas drilling in Ohio

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Democratic gubernatorial candidate Dennis Kucinich on Thursday unveiled a series of proposals designed to bring a complete end to oil and gas drilling in Ohio.

At a news conference in downtown Columbus, the liberal former congressman and presidential candidate said that as governor, he would use eminent domain to acquire and close all existing traditional and fracking-style oil and gas wells in the state. Kucinich pledged to block any new drilling permits and order a statewide injection-well ban.

In addition, Kucinich would direct the Ohio State Highway Patrol to stop, inspect, and turn away vehicles found with fracking waste. The state would offer free health screenings to Ohioans living near fracking sites and collect data with an eye toward filing a class-action lawsuit against fracking companies on the scale of the multi-billion-dollar legal settlement that states reach with tobacco companies 20 years ago.

Asked whether his proposals were unrealistic given that Republicans dominate the state legislature, Kucinich said he has a history of working with conservatives when he served in the state Senate.

“If the governor can’t take a stand for the health and safety of this state, then why even run?” he asked.

    http://www.cleveland.com/open/index.ssf/2018/01/dennis_kucinich_calls_for_end.html

    Never change, Dennis.

    ——

You know, that’s interesting. I wonder if he would stop tankers coming in to refill the storage tanks at all the gas stations in Ohio. Maybe some energy companies that have/benefit from fracking operations could just stop sending them. That’s a lot less pollution if no one can run their vehicles, Dennis. That’s healthy!

Totally off topic (when was I ever on topic? ) saw something on Facebook where someone was craving a certain food while undergoing some treatment.

Any chance one of the grown ups here can set up an Uber Eats or whatever it is called account then we could send that person the food the person craved.

LOL you know I would send him something like a live squid. But he may get a laugh out of it as he watched it chase the nurses and slap them on the ass….

historically, that came from negotiations with unions. Unions took hold in industries that are inherently dangerous, e.g., coal mining. Where there is a long and storied history of violent strikes. Also, some of the union dues were used to support families while workers were out injured. Over time, as mgmt slots are usually filled by workers coming up, they didn’t want to lose those benefits. Post WW II, as the economy took off the practice spread in order to attain and retain the white collar/mid-level staff.

There is not one thing the gov’t does that is not funded from taxes.

Companies produce goods/services for which they voluntarily paid my customers. Gov’t provides services but all of them are paid for involuntarily thru taxes.

How much money does the gov’t have?

Possum must never have paid attention to the cost and efficiency with which the Government operates anything they run. If the Government ran a lemonade stand, the lemonade would cost $100.00 per 8 oz glass, and you would only get 4 actual oz’s.

I have health insurance. Last year it was $619 per month. This year it went up to $935 per month so I had to drop from a “silver” plan to the lower one and pay $649

Um, not seen a doctor or used any medical thingies for over 5 years.

I should stop paying for “insurance” if I get sick it would be cheaper to fly to England…..

In England the health insurance costs have also gone up but they are hidden in your gov’t taxes. You just pointed out that you can make a choice here. What financial options are available to people who have to use the NHS regarding their costs?

Just to anticipate an argument I’ve heard regarding NHS: Well, what about Medicare? People don’t realize we DO pay for medicare. I pay $6000/yr in 2018, in 2017 I paid $4800. When I become eligible for social security, it will be deducted from that check. That is in addition to what I pay for supplemental insurance, about $1800 this year, and in addition to my drug plan and I forget what I pay for that.

But I get to shop every year for what I can best afford/best value for me. Except for the medicare part.

Forget the SOTU speech, some guy named Kellerman on ESPN has focused on the real problem.
And that is the Notre Dame moniker Fighting Irish and the pugilistic leprechaun mascot.
He made his bona fides cause his father was an Irish cop or something. He admits that most people of Irish
ancestory like the nickname and mascot, but some people might be offended, so the name and mascot must go!
It is some kind of moral imperative. I am of the Celtic persuasion as is most of my family and a lot of friends.
Everybody that I know likes it, there is no issue. Why doesn’t ESPN get out of the Social Justice business and deal with sports?

MSNBC’s Joy Reid Complains About Trump Invoking Church, Family, Military in SOTU Address

MSNBC host Joy Reid took to Twitter after the State of the Union address on Tuesday to attack President Donald Trump for invoking institutions such as family and the military in his speech.

Reid cited Trump’s themes of church, family, police, military, and the national anthem as “tropes of 1950s-era nationalism” that were intended to invoke nostalgia in his supporters.

Reid then complained that Trump does not actually respect any of the institutions that he claims to support, while again mocking the desire of Trump supporters for an “Ozzie and Harriet past.”

MSNBC’s Joy Reid Downplays MS-13, Says No One Has Heard Of Them Except For Fox Viewers

Often-misinformed MSNBC star Joy Reid is under the impression that international criminal gang MS-13 isn’t a major issue and the only people that have even heard of the thugs are regular viewers of Fox News.

During Tuesday’s State of the Union address, President Trump kicked off the immigration portion of his speech by detailing the horror of two teenage girls who were killed by MS-13, an international crime gang comprised mainly of El Salvador immigrants, while their parents were in the building.

“Two precious girls were brutally murdered while walking together in their hometown,” Trump said. “Four men associated with MS-13 have been charged with the killings… I am calling on the Congress to finally close the deadly loopholes that have allowed MS-13, and other criminals, to break into our country.”

During MSNBC’s coverage of the State of the Union, Reid mocked the president’s remarks while analyzing the speech with “Hardball” host Chris Matthews.

“He gives a speech tonight, in which he makes it sound like the biggest issue in the United States, the biggest threat is MS-13, a gang nobody that doesn’t watch Fox News has ever heard of. So he makes it sound like they’re the biggest threat.”
