Realizing the tide is turning against them, the Progressive controlled Democratic Party has decided that they will ram though their reforms. There is discussion of using a procedure where they can bypass a filibuster and pass it with just 51 votes. This process is called reconciliation and no changes can be made to the legislation. If the GOP ever did this, The Progressive Attack Machine would be all over this. However, since this is being done in the name of Progress, any means is OK.

WASHINGTON — Frustrated with the pace of bipartisan talks, Democratic leaders on Monday promised to push a sweeping health care bill through the Senate whether they get Republican support or not.

Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., the third-ranking Senate Democrat, raised the prospect of the leadership crafting a bill to Democratic specifications and using a rare legislative procedure to expedite legislation fulfilling President Barack Obama’s top domestic priority.

“We will have contingencies in place. These plans will likely be considered as a last resort, but they are on the table,” Schumer told reporters on a conference call. He declined to elaborate.

I warned that as the Progressive agenda loses popularity, they will become more desperate. The attack machine is on a full scale offensive. Keith Olbermann, who is a spokesman for this movement, has broken the GE-FOX truce and launched a vicious attack on Republicans and Blue Dog Democrats. Think Progress is attacking anyone who opposes the Health care takeover as hired goons.  Totalitarian movements are ruthless when they are in trouble and the Progressives Machine will not be different.

We're not easily offended and don't want people to think they have to walk on eggshells around here (like at another place that shall remain nameless) but of course, there is a limit to everything.

Play nice!
