Man Divorces Bearded, Cross-Eyed Wife Who Was Hidden by Veil
An anonymous Arab ambassador filed for divorce upon discovering that his bride is cross-eyed and has a beard after he removed her Muslim veil, the Daily Mail reports.
And they say romance is dead.
The couple were matched up in an arranged marriage, and it wasn’t until the 40-something husband leaned in to kiss his new wife that he saw the facial hair lurking under her veil, according to the paper.
The groom, who took his case to an Islamic Sharia court in the United Arab Emirates, reportedly alleges that the bride’s parents had conned him into the marriage by luring him with photos of the bride’s prettier, less hirsute sister.
