US Aid is Paying Salaries to ‘Palestinian’ Terrorists in Prison

The U.S. Congress is redoing the rules for the “Palestinian Authority” to get U.S. aid and I hope they’re taking this into account (along with the other issues about the PA going to the UN and/or forming a government with Hamas).

U.S. aid will be denied if they go to the UN for statehood or form a government with Hamas, according to the descriptions of the new legislation. Stopping the aid if the PA is using it to send salaries to mass murderers and other terrorists in Israeli prisons should also happen. What the PA is doing is illegal according to American law.

The Palestinian Authority spends more than $5 million a month paying salaries to terrorists sitting in Israeli prisons, according to a Palestinian Media Watch report presented to congressmen in Washington on Tuesday.

According to the report, written by Itamar Marcus and Nan Jacques Zilberdik, such payments contravene US law, which prohibits funding of any person who “engages in, or has engaged in terrorist activity.”

“The US funds the PA’s general budget,” the document reads. “Through the PA budget the US is paying the salaries of terrorist murderers in prison and funding the glorification and role modeling of terrorists.”

Marcus, director of Palestinian Media Watch, met with Republican lawmakers on Tuesday to discuss the report, amid efforts to get US congressmen – on the eve of the Palestinian move to gain statehood recognition at the UN in September – to cut US funds to the PA, not because of the Hamas and Fatah reconciliation, but because of the PA’s support and glorification of terrorists.

According to the report, “A law signed and published in the official Palestinian Authority Registry in April 2011 puts all Palestinians and Israeli Arabs imprisoned in Israel for terror crimes on the PA payroll to receive a monthly salary from the PA.”

The report says this law “formalizes what has long been a PA practice.”

Those eligible for the payments, according to the report, are “anyone imprisoned in the occupation’s [Israel’s] prisons as a result of his participation in the struggle against the occupation.”

Quoting from Al-Hayat al- Jadida, an official daily newspaper of the Palestinian Authority, the report said that more than 5,500 Palestinian prisoners receive these funds.

Palestinian car thieves in Israeli prisons will not receive a salary, but every terrorist in prison including murderers are on the PA payroll, the report said, adding that “the salary goes directly to the terrorist or the terrorist’s family.”

The report said the average monthly salary for terrorist prisoners is NIS 3,129, more than the average monthly wage for a PA civil servant.

‘US paying salaries for jailed Palestinian terrorists’

This is a description of the legislation being worked on, although it has an ominous stipulation that Obama can override the rules set out for the Palestinian Authority:

It also contains $513 million for the Palestinian Authority, though in order to receive any of the money dedicated for security assistance, the secretary of state must certify that the PA “is not attempting to establish or seek recognition at the United Nations of a Palestinian state outside of an agreement negotiated between Israel and the Palestinians.”

The Palestinians have announced they plan to seek unilateral recognition at the UN for a state this September, a move opposed by Israel as well as the US.

In addition, the Palestinians would forfeit the American economic assistance should “any power-sharing government of which Hamas is a member or that results from an agreement with Hamas” come to power.

Earlier this year, Hamas and Fatah signed such a deal, but it has yet to be implemented.

Other limitations on the Palestinians include a commitment working with the Israeli security authorities and stamping out terrorism and terror financing, though the president can waive the limitations if he determines providing the assistance is necessary for US national security.

US foreign aid package may put conditions on PA funding

Let’s hope that the U.S. Congress straightens this out soon.

NYT: Arming police officers will only lead to an escalation of violence.

There is so much unreported irony in this story that I simply had to rise up out of my sloth and have a go at it.

The NYFT today released this story about the Unsettling Wariness of Norway, Where Police are rarely armed.

OSLO — When a man dressed in a police uniform began slaughtering young people at a Norwegian summer camp last week, one of the first to be killed was a real police officer named Trond Berntsen, who for years had worked in security at the camp. Whether Officer Berntsen tried to stop the gunman is still being debated. But facing a man carrying multiple guns and ample ammunition, there was little he could do. Like most other police officers here, he had no weapon.

Think about that. Police officers, sworn to protect citizens (just a guess, but there’s probably a law that prohibits swearing) against criminals are unarmed. WHISKEY-TANGO-FOOKBAR?!?!?! Who the hell thought that up? Well, the answer is here:

“I would prefer to live in a society where police normally work unarmed,” said Johannes Knutsson, a professor of police research at the Norwegian Police University College. “It is a very forceful and symbolic sign to the citizens that this is a peaceful society.”

Ya got that right. It is also a very forceful and symbolic sign to splodydopes and common street thugs that you’re an easy and inviting target.

And last. The dumbest comment of the whole piece.

Some “experts” worry that arming police officers all the time will only lead to an escalation of violence as criminals arm themselves in response.

I kid you not, that is really what the NYFT twerp has written. Who are those “experts” and where are their adult supervisors?

More irony. The NYFT releases this eyerolling tripe on the very day that ATF officials are trying to ‘splain themselves before Congress as to the particulars of Operation Gunrunner. For those of you just joining us, that would be the DOJ prank of allowing thousands of guns from legitimate American gun dealers to fall into the hands of Mexican drug thug terrorists in order to prove up the idea that we need more gun laws to protect us from American citizens arming themselves to protect their lives and property against criminals.

Unbelievable!

GE moves X-Ray business to China

GE a corporation that paid no taxes last and also has the blood of Americans on its hands, once again screws this nation. Their CEO Jeffrey Immelt who is one of Obama’s top economic advisers once again gets caught in hypocrisy. He has been saying we need more jobs in America. His actions say something else. GE is moving its X-Ray business to China.

General Electric Co.’s health care unit, the world’s biggest maker of medical imaging machines, is moving the headquarters of its 115-year-old X-ray business to Beijing.

“A handful’’ of top managers will move to the Chinese capital and there won’t be any job cuts, said Anne LeGrand, general manager of X-ray for GE Healthcare. The headquarters will move from Wisconsin amid a broader plan to invest about $2 billion across China, including opening six “customer innovation’’ and development centers.

The division should have “double-digit’’ growth rates as the country converts from film and analog to digital X-ray technology, LeGrand said.

Whether it was having NBC/MSNBC rooting for an American defeat in Iraq to selling IED parts to Iran, GE screws America again. They are an anti-American company and Jeffery Immelt deserve no respect from this nation.

Geert Wilders

From Gates of Vienna:

Many thanks to the PVV for sending this:

Statement of Geert Wilders concerning the massacre in Norway

The brutal murder of dozens of innocent Norwegian civilians several days ago has shocked the Freedom Party (Dutch PVV). We mourn and stand by the Norwegian people who suffer from a massive blow.

The manifesto of the perpetrator makes clear that this is a madman. He wants to work with Al Qaeda (which he cherishes great admiration for), craves the bombing of cities, dreams of knights that surgically mutilate themselves, and wants to meet his hero Karadzic.

Breivik also refers to the Netherlands. That the fight against Islam is violently abused by a psychopath is disgusting and a slap in the face of the global anti-Islamic movement. It fills me with disgust that the perpetrator refers to the PVV and me in his manifesto.

Neither PVV nor I are responsible for a lone idiot who twisted and violently abused the freedom-loving anti-Islamization ideals, no matter how much some people would like that. We are democrats at heart. The Freedom Party has never, ever called for violence and will never do. We believe in the power of the ballot box and the wisdom of the voter. Not bombs and guns.

We fight for a democratic and nonviolent means against the further Islamisation of society and will continue to do so. The preservation of our freedom and security is our only goal.

— Geert Wilders

Stand Up America Now condemns the attack that took place in Norway. There is absolutely no excuse for this type of violence. These types of acts are perpetrated by misguided individuals, and could continue out of a desperation to bring attention to the growing threat of radical Islam.

As long as our governments continue to ignore the radical element of Islam and as they continue to justify its violent actions by adapting to a policy of political correctness, there will be a great danger.

Hopefully this event will not be used as a type of smokescreen to cover up the violent activities of Islam that take place worldwide. Since the 9/11 attack in 2001 there has been over 18,000 Islamic terrorist attacks injuring and killing many people. The threat of radical Islam needs to be addressed by our governments and necessary measures must be taken to stop it.

Statement

I condemn in the strongest possible terms the terror attacks that took place in Oslo and on Utøya island on July 23, 2011. There are no excuses for this wicked atrocity, nor can it be relativized. I extend my sympathies to the Norwegian people and especially to the relatives and friends of the dead. I mourn with the survivors.

I very much regret that this psychopathic killer believed he had to make reference to my beliefs in his 1,500-page manifesto. I can hardly defend myself against such wrongful exploitation, but those who know me and hear what I say in my public appearances know very well that I reject any form of violence.

However, if well-founded criticism is blamed for those attacks, aren’t the critics of Olof Palme to blame for his murder?

Did Mahatma Gandhi’s critics kill him, or did the killer himself bear individual responsibility?

Were the critics of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy to blame for the murder of the crown prince, and consequently responsible for the outbreak of World War I?

I am a woman of words, and I have nothing to do with violence, which I categorically reject.

In addition, I reject all worldviews that justify the use of violence. In this rejection, I do not care whether the ideology commands its power with the help of guns or swords.
