A Command Economy Relic

Another week is over and the New Year’s Holiday is almost upon us. So, lets tone it down a notch and look at a relic from the 70’s:

In a command economy the central planners do two things. They determine first how many of a given product is to be made and second, what it will cost. So, how does the consumer know what the cost is? Easy, its stamped into the product.

This spoon is from the USSR, Mrs Coldwarrior’s family brought a set with them when they left the USSR. Do note, this spoon costs 60 Kopecs (.60 cents). We have serving for 8. All the utensils are marked 60 Kopeks. Mrs Coldwarrior also has gold earrings with the price stamped into them but the numbers are way too small to get a picture.

We're not easily offended and don't want people to think they have to walk on eggshells around here (like at another place that shall remain nameless) but of course, there is a limit to everything.

Play nice!
