BREXIT!!!

BREXIT has passed both houses of Parliament!

Populism is en vogue. Nationalism is a good thing.

Soon, the UK-US free trade deal will be signed. The UK will gain more than if they had stayed in the EU. I want a US/Canada/NZ/Australia/UK/Ireland free trade anglophone agreement.

It’s a great day for UK. My masters Econ thesis is coming to fruition. I need to go back to my alma mater and punch a leftist/globalist, wanna-be elitist prof in the mouth. He busted my balls over this.

The shit-heads at the BBC think that Trump will be too busy to get a trade deal done until after the election. HAHAHAAAA!!! They don’t know him very well.

and Her Majesty has signed….they’re out next Friday. I can’t wait to see the deals Trump makes w/them

In the meantime, Schiff is threatening to imprison everybody. About a thrid of the Senate just walks out on this crap

‘It doesn’t hurt that the morning starts out every day with the sergeant-in-arms warning you that if you don’t [attend], you will be in prison,’ Schiff said

Schiffty’s performing. Yesterday, apparently at a press conference, he elbowed NoNads out of the way and informed him “I’LL answer the questions.”

Watching what happens when this self-imported narcissist gets the crap kicked out of him and his deceptions, as well as the other jerks from the House, is going to be fun. Of course, the MSM will give him cover, and the ignorant Twitter Turds, but no one’s watching them anyway.

Might just be my uneducated takeaway from this but I wonder if Schifty is being setup to be the scapegoat for the dems failure to “get the orange man”. I’ve been hearing my local dems saying that Schifty is to blame for “jumping the gun” and that he needs to pay for “screwing up the case and wasting time”.

I think he’s their plan to let NoNads, Pelosi, Schumer and the rest of the clowns get out scott free. Let him hang and the rest can claim innocence. That way the ones up for reelection can claim they were strung along by “bad information” from Schiftys office.

Just the theory I put together based on what I’m hearing from dissatisfied lefties.

This would not surprise me. Schiffty has embarrassed himself completely in his efforts to get President Trump. First, he claimed there was incontrovertible evidence of Russian collusion. There was none. There is that embarrassing audiotape of him being punked by comedians with pictures of “nay-kid Trump.” But when he told Nancy he had him cold on that Ukraine call with the weaselblower and then the transcript revealed he was full of crap, Nancy was now stuck. His “auditions” for witnesses in the SCIF were an embarrassment, as was his running of the hearings.

The biggest embarrassment to this narcissic asshat, though, HAD to be that the smartest Jeopardy players in history didn’t know who he was.

  16. 16 | January 24, 2020 11:00 am

    @ right_wing2:

I don’t think the determination has been made yet whether witnesses are to be called. That vote will come at the end of the presentation by the President’s team. The problem for Schiffty is that the witnesses HE wants to call – Bolton (even though they have NO idea what he will say) and the other Presidential advisors are STILL able to be withheld under the umbrella of Executive Privilege. The witnesses the GOP wants to call – Hunter Biden, Joe Biden, the weaselblower, and even Schiffty himself if it comes to that – enjoy no such privilege.

THAT’S to his advantage, not embarrassment. All this is so divorced from reality and no one has paid a price, nor will they. No one knows who Adam Schiff is? So it’s no problem when he gets re-elected is it?

If we lose the Senate in 2020, what do you think Trump’s 2nd term will be like?

Everybody SHOULD know who Adam Schiff, NoNads, et. al. are and what they’ve done. But nobody does. And believe me, they are COUNTING on it. At the ballot box.

Speaking of the ballot box, a woman called into Rush yesterday and went thru how every close race in California miraculously went for the Dems last time, after people kept finding ‘provisional’ ballots in the trunks of their cars.

What’s going on in this trial is just the beginning, they won’t stop until they’re swinging from ropes.

I haven’t listened to Rush’s podcast yet – I usually do that in the a.m. the day after. She’s wrong about the “finding boxes of ballots in trunks.” California Democrats don’t have to do that anymore. They passed a law allowing ballot harvesting, which is essentially an open door to voter fraud. The candidates lost when said harvested ballots were counted AFTER the election. And surprisingly, ALL close races went to the Democrats when the Republicans had been declared the winner.

It’s easy to harvest enough ballots when you know how many you need.

    @ eaglesoars:

Of course, Schiffty’s old Tweet about the FISA warrants being “unassailable, legal and valid” back in 2018 was brought out with a “didn’t age well.”

The question is, if the warrants were invalid, the case can be made that ANY prosecutions that had as their basis information from those warrants should be thrown out. Didn’t FLYNN’s prosecution stem from those FISA warrants.

Oh, and every individual involved with those illegal warrants should be disbarred. For perjury.

ETA: Sidney retweeted the story of the illegal warrants on her Twitter feed, so it may be that there is something to go after there. I hope so. Of ALL the prosecutions that stemmed out of that phony investigation, Flynn’s is the one that angers me the most. Talk about prosecutorial misconduct.

I think it was last week or week before last when someone posted on twitter (don’t remember his name, but he’s a Dem operative) that Trump associates were involved on an attempted hit on Yovanovitch? I said then that that was the first drip of what would become a charge of conspiracy to commit murder against Trump. Nothing seemed to happen after that, it all went quiet.

    Until now.

‘Get rid of her! Do it!’ Feds have tape of Donald Trump ‘telling aides to fire Ukraine ambassador Marie Yovanovitch’ at meeting with Rudy sidekicks Lev Parnas and Igor Fruman – who RECORDED the president

This is being portrayed in the article as ‘firing her’, but if you read thru it, the voice ascribed to Trump never says that. The voice says ‘get rid of her’ and ‘take her out’.

So I’m going with what the Dem operative said on twitter – a conspiracy to commit murder.

    Developments in Flynn case.

Sullivan is considering an evidentiary hearing on whether he should accept Flynn’s plea withdrawal

    https://twitter.com/Techno_Fog/status/1220743152371478531/photo/1

    Sullivan wants

    1. Make a “legally cognizable defense” to the charges against him

This will need to be an *affirmative* defense of being *innocent* (not just not guilty), that is legally sound, as well as factually accurate. Flynn has never done this – yet – to the lying to FBI charge.

    2. Show either “an error in the taking of his plea” or some “more substantial” reason he failed to press his case rather than plead guilty

    3. If 1 & 2 are both shown, the Court will ALSO need to be satisfied that the Government would not be “substantially prejudiced” by the “delay in going to trial”

There’s more, you can start reading here

    https://twitter.com/JohnWHuber/status/1220753749108457474

Basically, this sounds like an uphill battle for Flynn

I’m at a loss trying to figure out what is going on here. These people are lying, demonstrably so, yet they are doing it with such abandon and determination that it really brings me up short.

When people lie, they usually expect to be believed and/or persuasive. That cannot be the case here because everything they say is provably false and therefore cannot be persuasive. Yes, I’m excluding the part of the population that ‘believes’ them anyway, because the belief functions more as a satisfied need than as the result of critical thinking. These are the hive. They have a role, but they are not the primary target. Today’s useful idiots are tomorrow’s bovine cannon fodder.

If the lies aren’t intended to be believed and or persuasive, what purpose do they serve?

The only thing I can think of, right now anyway, is scaffolding. These people are in the process of constructing an alternate reality.

What was the NYT’s 1619 project? That didn’t just fade into memory, you know, it’s becoming part of the curriculum in schools. That it’s been completely debunked is irrelevant. The scaffolding is in place. Zinn has been there for decades.

Lenin did it in 6 yrs. And he used the same tactics

When Mensheviks objected to Lenin’s personal attacks, he replied frankly that his purpose was not to convince but to destroy his opponent. In work after work, Lenin does not offer arguments refuting other Social Democrats but brands them as “renegades” from Marxism. Marxists who disagreed with his naïve epistemology were “philosophic scum.” Object to his brutality and your arguments are “moralizing vomit.” You can see traces of this approach in the advice of Saul Alinsky—who cites Lenin—to “pick the target, freeze it, personalize it.”
    .
    .
both Lenin and Plekhanov, the first Russian Marxist, insisted that there was no need to understand opposing views before denouncing them, since the very fact that they were opposing views proved them wrong—and what was wrong served the enemy and so was criminal.

    https://newcriterion.com/issues/2019/10/leninthink

Those of us who KNOW/remember will pass on soon enough. These people are patient. Liberation Theology was birthed in 1960. A mere 40 yrs to get to Pope Frank.

That our side is opposing all this with Marquess of Queensbury rules and attitudes is beyond infuriating. The demonstration in Richmond this past Monday had a lot of people HEAVING sighs of relief and patting each other on the back for the absence of any misbehavior and some great speeches, not to mention the really impressive turnout.

Would you like to know how many of the laws being objected to were advanced by the gov’t in Richmond by the end of the week?

Saw the same thing with ObamaCare and the Tea Party. We rallied, we showed up, we protested — Nancy and team rammed the abomination down our throats at midnight during Christmas and then paraded down the Capitol grounds to rub our faces into it.

Problem is, those of us who know this also know what it is going to take to stop this. … and it is extreme. We know that when that switch is flipped, it will be irreversible and violent. We are more than likely going to win if we don’t wait too long. Not every Gen Z person going through the Government indoctrination camps is buying the garbage. This is like two countries vying against one another. One of them possesses superior force but does not want to unleash what will be the no-quarter given attack. The other side continues to goad until that becomes impossible to stop.

Let’s think about that. Is the premise correct? Perhaps that premise is what’s making us default to those Marquis of Queensbury rules – because the only alternative we can imagine is horrible.

What if the problem is a failure of our imagination? What if there IS another approach? We may have set ourselves up with a false choice.

I think there was an accident. Initial reports say this is similar to SARS but is SARS also a corona virus? I think there are several types.

I see reports the U.S. is, or has, evac’d all U.S. citizens from Wuhan but I don’t know where to.

they are named that because of the way the outer proteins look under electron microscope.

they don’t have theA/B type and h1n2, h2n3, etc nomenclature because the outside proteins are different hence the names SARS, MERS are coronavirii which are primarily lung based infections in humans

yes, I’ve seen the pics – looks like the sun. The infection rate I’ve seen is 30% but that’s in China. They’ve locked down 14 cities, closed the Great Wall cancelled all Lunar New Year celebrations, etc. I suspect a lot of their problem is basic hygiene. One doctor treating in Wuhan has died and before he died said he suspected it was transmitted into his eyes as everything else had been covered.

correct. Xi has already made a public statement that they should expect more infections, the situation would get worse before it gets better.

I don’t know what the incubation range is, but I guess they’re expecting a lot of people are infected but not yet symptomatic. There are several reports of people waiting at various hospitals not being able to get treatment because they’re completely swamped

So…I’ve been doing a bit more thinking about how we need to change the way we play the game. Doing a bit more reading thru a different prism of the old reliable (for me), even going back thru a bit of Hannah Arendt. She gets short shrift these days, but she’s been a lodestar for me for reasons I don’t entirely understand. The Origins of Totalitarianism is the most turgid book I’ve never completely grasped, but there are diamonds there, mixed up in her German gravel.

And keeping in mind this: Politics is downstream from culture.

One of the cultural phenomena that Arendt noted was the casting out of the Jews from the protection of the law. They were outside the law. Yes, it was a political/legal step, but not until the culture permitted it. The Nazis formalized in law what we now call ‘cancel culture’.

To be clear, I’m not talking about ‘othering’. That’s a different, altho related, issue.

I’m talking about driving people out of their professions, driving them to suicide (yes, it’s happened), etc.

Did you know in Connecticutt, the Dems are setting up a special police force for ‘hate speech’ and related behaviors. It’s like the UK without the charming accents.

So, I dunno. when I think about how or what or where to start fighting, or fight more effectively, maybe the cancel culture may be a place to start.

Conn. Dems Want New State Police Dept. Just for ‘Hate Crimes and Violent Right-Wing Extremism’

Senate Democrats want to create and fund a new department within the state police focused on combating hate crimes and violent right-wing extremism.

Senate President Pro Tem Martin Looney, D-New Haven, said his caucus has no intention of persecuting people for their political beliefs, but they are increasingly concerned about contemplated, hateful actions.

This is behind a paywall for some browsers, I get to it via Brave so I’ll cut-paste a bit

In April 2017, a group of students at Dartmouth College met with Dr David Bucci to complain about sexual harassment in the department of psychological and brain sciences that he chaired. The allegations didn’t sound particularly grave — none of the students complained of rape, for instance — but Dr Bucci flagged it up with the Title IX office even so. It was that office’s responsibility to follow up sexual harassment complaints and it duly did, suspending three professors and mounting several investigations.
    .
    .
Not surprisingly, Dr Bucci’s mental health began to deteriorate and, last year, he was hospitalized for depression and treated with electroconvulsive therapy. Dartmouth’s lawyers strongly rebutted all the allegations against him and the faculty dean sent an email to the department expressing her complete confidence in him, but it did little to stop the workplace mobbing. When it looked as though Dartmouth was intending to settle, Bucci urged the college to extract a statement from the plaintiffs proclaiming his innocence. But when the settlement came — awarding the women $14.4 million — there was no such clarification. The following month, in October 2019, David Bucci took his own life.

Speaking of the Brave browser, I’ve been using it for a couple days. The only problem I’ve had is signing into disqus comments, I have to use Chrome or Firefox for that. But I would like to point out that it is the product of Brendon Eich. He is one of the creators of Java Script, Mozilla, etc. As a software developer in a former life, I am in awe of this man’s talents.

Eich was a victim of the cancel culture when it was discovered he had contributed $1000 to Proposition 8, which banned same-sex marriage in California. He resigned from Mozilla. And to his everlasting credit, he has ported Brave software to open-source platforms.

The incubation period has been put at 14 days!

Many Chinese students are about to move back into New Zealand from Taiwan, Hong Kong and China proper. My daughter runs a student house at a high end Girl’s school. She just received a notification that the two Chinese students that she also personally manages are due back in NZ soon. The school has unilaterally made a rule that these Chinese students are to not return to school after the holidays for 7 DAYS! That is HALF the recommended isolation period. I don’t really care what the school says. 14 days means 14 days PERIOD. We have a vulnerable baby in our family with cystic fibrosis and we have to protect him no matter what. With Chinese pouring into NZ for Chinese New Year and Chinese students also returning to NZ we have the portents for a perfect infection storm.Playing this by ear with the possibility to evacuate the baby to the beach where we can control access.

I’m sure the authorities in 1918-19 thought that they could ‘manage’ Spanish flu in the early days of the infection when thousands of returning WWI soldiers spread the flu globally the they returned to their home countries.

Situated in the heart of downtown Wuhan, the wet market has been instructed by the authorities to be temporarily closed. This comes after reports that several wild animals sold at the market contain the deadly virus.

The wet market also sells raw KOALA meat!

The shocking revelation was made by a Twitter user known as Muyi Xiao. She also uploaded pricing details for the variety of meats that can be purchased at the mart. Based on the list, the koala meat is sold at RMB 70 (RM41). However, it is not known whether the price is for the whole koala or per kilo.

And the outrage in Australia is…..where?
Oh that’s right, the media NEVER criticises Communist China.
Besides, what’s reporting a few Koalas’ being slaughtered and eaten, when millions of people are in concentration camps?
Shhhh…..socialism and barbaric culture must not be mentioned!
