Update on the situation

my PET scan is clean other than neck. Good. CT shows some nodules in the lungs. ENT asked, ‘where did you grow up…Yeah he says…”this is common in the Beaver Valley. nothing to be worried about.” Making shit tons of steel back in the day does have a cost. these are benign and not worth further comment. i saw them. so faint, barely there…and then i reminded him that i hd pneumonia 8 times and was ICU’d twice….oh, he says. that makes sense too. i quit getting sick/bronchitis/pnuemonia 8 years ago…stared taking zertec on august 31 and kept taking it until the first freeze…avoid the black mold of rotting vegetation. for years i got sick at EXACtlY the same time every year.

my case us a t tumor board monday, med onc tuesday, ENT wedenesday…surgery just after that with chemo/rads.

it is an open!

Markets collapsed with the growing realization that there would be no fast end to the uncertainty.

CW, are they going to do any sentenel lymph node surgery? It’s been 20 years since I last marched this march, so I don’t know how things have changed.

Just got an email from the place where I buy my gold and silver from

As you all know, the effects of coronavirus (COVID-19) have accelerated what is now a precipitous decline in equities. Access to liquidity in the markets has become an issue, and all asset classes are being affected – including precious metals. This historic turn of events has created a demand shock in the physical precious metals industry. Following years of slow to moderate sales following the Greek crisis in 2015, the entire industry has been cautious to build large inventories. This includes the United States Mint, which experienced a terrible production decline of Silver American Eagles, down to only 14.9M ounces minted in 2019.

As of this morning, the United States Mint is out of Silver American Eagles, and the backlog is tremendous. To ramp up manufacturing production to meet demand will likely take weeks, if not months. If the US Mint is forced to suspend operations due to coronavirus, it remains unclear how drastic the impact will be to the supply chain. Making matters worse, it now appears that imported supply from Europe is going to be cut off. As it now stands, other products are being bid up to help fill that void.

    Hey Coldwarrior

…… are you go9ing to watch the first One Day International in the Chappell-Hadley Series from the Sydney Cricket Ground.?No spectators however and only TV coverage due to the Carrona scare.

Best of three ODI Tests. The Black Caps are on fire after demolishing the world champions, India ….. BUT …. the Aussies are merciless when playing at home, even though the lack of crowds will remove a bit of their ‘home town advantage.

The Sydney Cricket Ground has great atmosphere but without 40,000 Aussies screaming for Kiwi blood, that will be absent.

This will be a good thing for the Kiwi Black Caps as the Aussie home town advantage will be absent.

I doubt that a lack of spectators will much affect 5 day Test Cricket as it’s a week of cricket feast where you can float in and out and watch when there is a particular node of crucial action. Test Cricket is very Strategic and it ebbs and flows over 5 days. It’s like chess when compared to checkers (One Day Internations) that are all drama and great for spectator participation.

5 Day Test Cricket = Chess
ODI Cricket = checkers with blood!
T 20 Cricket (20 overs each team) = Cage fighting with bats!

Actually the Italian North is not too bad when it comes to hygiene …. except for the doc shit… and Venice’s canals (open cesspits).

People … and governments …. do crazy things when they get scared and desperate.

Just look at Russia / Saudi Arabia. Both live off their oil.

The Saudies can turn it on and off like a spigot whilst the Russians have weather, remoteness and very long pipelines making their oil quite a bit more expensive.
Forget the Russian Mean Break Even Point but Saudi used to be about $12 Mean Break Even Point a while back!

the link that rain posted to the wattsupwith that article said it was Russia that chose to open the spigot, not KSA. That wasn’t my understanding, I thought it was KSA. Russia didn’t want to give up market share, but this just slit their own wrists. They cannot sustain low prices, KSA can.

Ok, here’s the new IMPEACH TRUMP narrative.

He delayed testing to hold down the infection figures so he’ll be re-elected.

This is a Nat’l Public Radio interview w/Politco reporter, Dan Diamond.

Someone named TERRY GROSS is the NPR interviewer

GROSS: Are there cuts the Trump administration made to the public health infrastructure that have left us more undefended? For example, wasn’t there a National Security Council health task force that was disbanded under Trump?

DIAMOND: That’s right. The president famously axed a team in the White House about two years ago that was focused specifically on pandemic preparedness. He cut funding for a program that predicted when viruses could jump from animals to humans basically around the same time that this new coronavirus appears to have jumped from animals to humans in China.

So now we’ve established that Trump’s attack on the Deep State are at fault.

Now we come to the ‘hang him’ part

But at the same time, Secretary Azar has not always given the president the worst-case scenario of what could happen. My understanding is he did not push to do aggressive additional testing in recent weeks, and that’s partly because more testing might have led to more cases being discovered of coronavirus outbreak, and the president had made clear – the lower the numbers on coronavirus, the better for the president, the better for his potential reelection this fall.

Trump tried to hide to truth about Americans dying from the plague so that he can be re=elected.

This is a very long piece, there are lots more highlights than what I’ve put here. I just noted what placed personal responsibility on Trump so that they can try to remove him from office again

In information warfare you have to read between the lines and keep a weather eye for key words like:-

    …. For example, wasn’t there a ….
Code for ‘This is a patsy question that we’ve agreed on beforehand to allow you to respond with an agreed narrative ……

…… predicted when viruses could jump from animals to humans basically around the same time …….
Code for, Actually these incidents were over a year apart but we are setting up a narrative and we’ll fudge the time line here in the hope that the hot poloi don’t notice. ……….

    …… My understanding is ……
I’m about to tell a barefaced lie here, but I’ll hide behind a false commentary buffer and then later when the folks reading this shit forget the commentary context, I’ll elude to this narrative as proven fact.

…… that’s partly because more testing might have led to …… those weasel words such as ‘partly’ and an unattributed ‘because’ and ‘might have’ that slips right into sentences and make the whole shebang just some moronic ideologue’s unattributed and proven opinion, dressed up as if it’s written in stone!

These bastards are good at the propaganda game. They are lying arseholes of course but skilful arseholes.

Beware of reading their copy as anything more than rank propaganda.

    I agree.

ALWAYS keep one foot on the ground if at all possible when it comes to income.

Were talking about a $20 an hour minimum pay rate here in NZ currently which is about USD$17 an hour. Still NZ housing is about double the US cost ( in Auckland and Queenstown but a LOT less in smaller communities) and utilities are a bit higher too.
But that’s offset by free health …. kinda. Great if you’re about to die but not so good if you need anything that can allow you to survive whilst waiting in line. Family private surgical cover costs about $6K for two mature adults and another $1300 per year to belong to a former Staff Welfare scheme, that gives back 60c in the dollar for GP , physio, dental etc. You are also given a pension after 10 years in country that includes 5 years as a citizen. That comes out at $20K per year for two adults living together. No State Tax because there are no States! Average of the 4 stage individual taxes (Max is 33%) is 18-20%. Corporate tax is currently 28% but due to decrease and they get to write off a LOT such as R&D, business costs etc.

If you have to someplace NZ is a great bolt hole. Many US elites seem to think so too! You now need to become a resident or citizen before you can buy residential property or farms. No buying a bolt hole and then leaving it empty and flying back to where you came from!

    🙂

    Think about it!

If you want to do it on your own and hire in the required subbies, then you can make about $200K per year over a 2 year period. If you do up and sell for your profit plus capital gain then you are considered NOT to be doing it as a business and therefore you do NOT pay tax on either the market profit plus the improvement capital gain. You can also get away with a one off … ” I didn’t know I couldn’t ‘handle the stairs’ excuse!

The $200 Kn per year tax free profit per year, is based on a ‘do-up of a former State house (brick and tile) in an up and coming ‘being gentrified’ or something smaller (3 bedroom and a single bathroom) house or semi-detatched in a good suburb.

If you buy say an 3 BR ex-State brick and time for say $750K and pump in say $150K then after two years you will get around ~$1.3 million tax free with your profit around $400 K total over those 2 years.

Alternatively buy say a semi-detached 2 BR 1 Bath in a good area for $700K, Spend $100K you will get $1.2 minion over a two year period.

Most do-ups include …. adding decks and double doors; turning laundry into a second bathroom; fitting drop in kitchen; Moving internal non-loadbearing walls to improve flow; Painting throughout; landscaping, adding a car port etc.

You have to hold for 2 years so that you are considered non-professional and therefore able to claim tax free status.

    🙂

We’ve done 6 of these and if we can do it anyone can!

Auckland has had a 15 month hiatus but is away again with an 12% value increase over the last year. For actual improvement capital gain is around 300%

i.e. for every $1 spent on improvements reaps $1.5-3 when you sell. The balance is actual capital gain.

His name escapes me right now, but some Dem Congress critter just went on a rant about how Trump should be providing the leadership to cancel all this, not leaving it up to individual orgs to make these tough decisions.

Which means Trump is the worst dictator EVAH, I think.

Rush just went on a rant, and I think he’s right. Just wait till this is over and things start returning to normal. Businesses open up, stock market recovers, people start living again. It’s going to be unstoppable and we won’t forget the people who did everything they could to tank this country just to get to Trump. Now they want him to cancel his rallies.

PS4/ Just so, we have no evidence that Azar told Trump coronavirus was a dire national threat in January, only to see Trump wait (inexplicably) until mid-February to form his vile opinion about the political (re-election) utility of artificially low coronavirus infection figures.

Nah!That’s a BS metric for ‘flu’.

More like 0.1% fatalities for nominal flu.

Frankly I do NOT believe the numbers for Corona . Because there are in a large percentage of cases either NO symptoms or very mild symptoms the actually infection rate numbers are MUCH larger . That makes the REAL proportion of fatalities Much smaller. That denominator is expected to be huge!

If we’re going to close the border with Europe, then we’d better close the border with Canada. Fast.

Trudeau refuses to cancel direct flights from China. Today planes landed from Shanghai, Chengdu, Hong Kong, Beijing and other cities. Upon arrival, migrants are asked a question on a screen — in English & French — if they’ve been to “Hubei province”. And then they walk through.

    @ lobo91:
All government services and schools have shut down as of tonight here in Ontario. You might look at this as an over reaction, but I am thinking this is a smart thing. Cases here are popping up faster and faster. Stop the social interactions and you slow the spread.

Working in a grocery store has been interesting on so many levels. Our company is increasing shipments from the central warehouse so we aren’t running empty shelves. Main toilet paper manufacture is increasing production and we should be seeing results within a week about that.
Lot of people buying food stuffs is a good thing. If worse comes to worse, they won’t be starving at home because they didn’t go shopping.

Myself? I have been planning for over a year and just needed to increase a few supplies to make myself feel better. it was more a grocery trip than a panic trip. Wife is really loving my “paranoid” mindset now.

New Zealand has just closed its borders to everyone who isn’t wiling to go into instant 14 days isolation. Only freighters can now port and crews must remain on board. Any and all inbound airline passengers will now be required to isolate for 14 days.

Internal air travel is being suggested as only in necessity. So far there are only 6 Corvona cases in country. One more entry from overseas attended church services at a small congregation and all partitioners are being contacted.
