    I never met the daughter of course, but the mom was a very sweet lady. If they catch this guy, he is not gonna be very popular in prison. I don’t know which I’d prefer-suicide by cop, or seeing the bastard get the crap beat out of him in a jail cell.

    Britain’s attempt to ramp up mass coronavirus testing has been dealt a blow after key components ordered from overseas were discovered to be contaminated with coronavirus, the Telegraph can disclose.

    Laboratories across the country were on Monday warned to expect a delay after traces of the virus were detected in parts due for delivery in the coming days.

    Even better…….

    That viral story on FDA approving two-minute coronavirus test looks like a cruel April Fools’ hoax

    The news was reported in a Reuters story that was reprinted by the New York Times, Axios, and many other outlets. The Washington Examiner also reported on the supposed development.

    However, when I thought about writing about this breakthrough this morning, a few things struck me as odd.

    All of the stories eventually led back to a press release issued by a company calling itself BODYSPHERE Inc. I’ve never heard of any such company, and all Google searches just referenced the story about the coronavirus test.

    I then checked out the website of the company, and the only products listed were a COVID-19 test, medical masks, and hand sanitizer — all products that happen to be in high demand right now. The company’s Twitter page had no tweets before Monday.

    So then I looked at the FDA webpage announcing Emergency Use Authorizations, and I did not find any reference to the supposed EUA for the BODYSPHERE test.

    Finally, I contacted the FDA to ask if any EUA for BODYSPHERE had been issued and received an email back explaining, “No serology tests have received an authorization to test for coronavirus.”

  16. 16 | April 1, 2020 12:08 pm

    Listening to Rush’s podcast a day late….

    He mentioned that you would think California, with its intense travel to and from China, would be the epicenter. It isn’t. Not even close. So he posits that maybe, just MAYBE, people in California already got the virus before it became public knowledge and survived.

    Interesting idea. Because I do remember right around Christmas and after, everyone was complaining about this rather severe cold that was going around, where you were mildly sick a few days, really sick for maybe one day, and then got better, but then it “came back” in a milder form maybe a week or two later.

    Sure would be interesting to find out how many of us here in the Golden State are already “recovered” and running around with the antibodies.

    It is Mesothelioma and the treatment regimine is intense.
    She is battling about as well as anyone can, but loses it ant the tears come.
    It is a mystery how she contracted it. This virus is especially dangerous for someone like her with
    A preexisting condition like that.
    She has a first rate medical team and they are encouraging. Because of my career Iknew who to go to.
    I would like to say that we are great over here, but we are both positive.

    I’m sorry to hear that. Hubby was diagnosed with melanoma exactly 20 yrs ago yesterday. The anxiety is something we became all to familiar with and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone.

    I thought the main/ONLY cause of mesothelioma is asbestos exposure? Is that in her background somehow.

    Planning a wedding under these circumstances – your personal and this virus garbage – must be a challenge.

    Hubby and I are just fine. As long as doggy day care stays open, I won’t be eating my gun anytime soon.

    Prosecutors: Engineer deliberately ran train off tracks in attempt to smash the USNS Mercy

    An engineer deliberately ran a train off the tracks at high speed near the Port of Los Angeles in an attempt to crash into and damage the USNS Mercy hospital ship, prosecutors say.

    The Pacific Harbor Line train derailed Tuesday, running through the end of the track and crashing through barriers, finally coming to rest about 250 yards from the docked naval ship.

    Federal prosecutors allege train engineer Eduardo Moreno, 44, of San Pedro intended to hit the ship, saying he thought it was “suspicious” and did not believe “the ship is what they say it’s for.’”

    CHINESE REGIME
    After Chinese Tycoon Goes Missing, Growing Criticism of Xi Leadership Hints of Factional Infighting

    BY NICOLE HAO
    March 29, 2020 Updated: March 29, 2020
    Print
    Chinese tycoon and princeling Ren Zhiqiang was recently detained after he publicly criticized Communist Party leader Xi Jinping for mishandling China’s response to the epidemic.

    Soon after, Chinese democracy activists exiled overseas circulated open letters—purportedly signed by Chinese entrepreneurs and retired senior officials—calling on Xi to enact systematic reform.

    The letters’ veracity could not be confirmed. But analysts believe that rumors of such dissent demonstrate that factional infighting within the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is intensifying, as Xi faces mounting criticism over the way China handled the virus outbreak.

    Ren Zhiqiang

    Ren, 69, is a successful real estate tycoon in Beijing. His father Ren Quansheng was a deputy minister of commerce before he retired in 1983. As a descendant of a former senior official, Ren is considered a Party princeling.

    In addition, Wang Qishan, Chinese vice chair and one of Xi’s strongest supporters, was Ren’s mentor in middle school. Wang was a teacher at the middle school Ren attended.

    Ren is known for being critical of the Chinese regime. On Feb. 19, 2016, Ren posted on Weibo, a Twitter-like Chinese social media platform, that “the surname of all Chinese media is the CCP, and the media do not represent people’s interests”—meaning the media answers to the Party.

    At the time, Ren was criticized by Chinese state-run media. The Party also punished him, announcing that it would monitor his behavior for a year. If he committed further “wrongdoing,” he would lose his Party membership.

    On March 8, Chinese netizens shared an article written by Ren. Though it was deleted in China, the article was quickly spread overseas by activists.

    Ren wrote: “This virus outbreak just verified that the surname of all [Chinese] media is the CCP, and Chinese people have been abandoned [by the Party].”

    Ren explained that the regime did not react promptly to stop the virus from spreading. He said authorities also lied to the public. As people were unaware of the virus’s contagiousness, they unwittingly spread the virus further.

    Ren called Xi “a clown who insists on being an emperor, even after he has been stripped of his clothes.”

    On March 12, Ren disappeared from the public.

    Epoch Times PhotoTedros Adhanom, Director General of the World Health Organization (WHO) attends a meeting with Chinese leader Xi Jinping at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, China on January 28, 2020. (Naohiko Hatta – Pool/Getty Images)

    On March 25, VOA (Voice of America), citing information from Ren’s friends, reported that Beijing authorities detained Ren, as well as his son and secretary.

    The report quoted an insider as saying, “Nobody is allowed to interfere with [Ren’s case], influence it, or beg for pardon for him. It’s possible that Wang Qishan isn’t allowed [to help Ren] either.”

    Citing an anonymous insider, the VOA report said Ren did not post his article online; he had shared it with 11 other Chinese entrepreneurs in his circle of friends. Then, some of them shared the article with more people. Eventually, it was leaked online.

    Chen Ping

    On March 21, another CCP princeling and billionaire Chen Ping, posted an article on WeChat, a popular social media platform. He claimed that it was drafted by anonymous citizens.

    The article explained why they were not satisfied with the current regime: growing pressure on the private sector; the lack of rule of law, freedom of expression, and free press; and the regime’s repressive policies toward Hong Kong and Taiwan.

    The article said that Xi, as the Party’s leader, should take responsibility. The citizens urged the Party to set up a meeting with the Politburo, a committee of senior Party officials, to discuss whether Xi was still qualified to be the leader.

    The citizens suggested that the meeting be led by premier Li Keqiang; chairman of the political advisory body, Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) Wang Yang; and vice chair Wang Qishan.

    Entrepreneurs and Senior CCP Officials

    Several days later, on March 26, an overseas Chinese activist Yijian Piaochen posted on Twitter a letter, which he said was co-signed by more than 50 Chinese entrepreneurs. He redacted the signatures, saying he wishes to protect their identities.

    This letter was addressed to Xi: “Due to the impact of the virus, the global economy has been damaged and China has arrived at a crossroads, in which [Chinese people] have to choose which path to take.”

    The co-signed had nine demands:

    enact government reform;

    reject far-leftism;

    realize universal suffrage in China;

    give the private sector the same privileges as state-run businesses;

    protect entrepreneurs’ property;

    provide stimulus relief funds to people impacted by the virus;

    ask officials from Wuhan and the National Health Commission to take their responsibility for the epidemic;

    release detained dissidents; and

    re-evaluate the case of whistleblower doctor Li Wenliang, who was punished by local authorities for spreading information about the virus.

    Another Chinese activist based overseas, Laodeng, tweeted on March 26 that he received a letter addressed to Xi that was co-signed by five retired Party officials. Other democracy activists also posted similar information.

    Laodeng said that these officials are former CPPCC chairman Li Ruihuan; former premier Wen Jiabao; former vice premier Li Lanqing; former secretary of the CCP secretariat office Hu Qili; and former vice premier Tian Jiyun.

    As of press time, none of them have publicly confirmed or denied the existence of this letter.

    It is unclear whether these letters truly exist and if Xi has received them.

    U.S. -based China affairs commentator Tang Jinyuan said the rumors of dissatisfaction toward the Xi leadership indicate that the current crisis has led to factional infighting within the CCP.

    In particular, “some people [within the Party] are worried that there will be chaos in Chinese society” due to the virus, and thus, may want certain Party officials to take the blame for any potential fallout, Tang said.

    They may have a vaccine. Pittsburgh. they will be applying to FDA for ‘new drug’ status, start clinical trial in months

    https://wjactv.com/news/local/upmc-unveils-potential-covid-19-vaccine

    The paper, which appeared in EBioMedicine, is the first study to be published after critique from scientists at outside institutions that identifies a possible vaccine for COVID-19, health officials said.

    “We had previous experience on SARS-CoV in 2003 and MERS-CoV in 2014. These two viruses, which are closely related to SARS-CoV-2, teach us that a particular protein, called a spike protein, is important for inducing immunity against the virus. We knew exactly where to fight this new virus,” said co-senior author Andrea Gambotto, M.D., associate professor of surgery at the Pitt School of Medicine. “That’s why it’s important to fund vaccine research. You never know where the next pandemic will come from.”

    Everyone is. But this will be over. My concern is the upcoming election in November. There is a big push for voting by mail, which is nothing other than voter fraud.

    The governor of my state, Virignia, has declared a lockdown until June 10 – one day after the Republican primary.

    If they get away with it, the virus will look like a cake walk. The lines outside the gun stores are 3 deep.

    Capt. Brett Crozier, who commands the Roosevelt, an aircraft carrier with a crew of nearly 5,000, was relieved of his command on Thursday, but he will keep his rank and remain in the Navy.
    .
    .
    The official reason for Crozier’s relief of duty is a loss of trust and confidence, according to the officials who spoke to NBC News

    OK, by order of the Governor is a good touch — it provides a target and focuses blame. Somebody who really needed something in that aisle is going to remember that come election time.

    Stores are going along with it right now because it is the path of least resistance, they don’t have to pay lawyers or face regulators or inspectors out for vengeance. Let sales drop too much and they’ll start pushing back

    The sooner we jack China out of this country the better!
    Bastards!

    Nationalise the bloody company and send Liu away with a token $1 in his pocket as he’s deported.

    This is war by other means and China seems to believe that only it can shoot. That is incorrect and soft power warfare is now de regeure and anything goes!

    An Australian private hospital system owned by a Chinese investor has laid off 800 staffers and might close altogether in the middle of the coronavirus crisis, according to reports.

    Healthe Care was purchased by CHINESE BILLIONAIRE LIU DIAN BO in 2015 and now serves as Australia’s third-largest private hospital operator in Australia with 34 clinics nationwide.

    After the federal government suspended all elective surgeries to focus treatment for coronavirus patients, Healthe Care began laying off employees and is now “putting in doubt 8000 beds” if state financial aid is not delivered, 9News reports.

    “We have received no firm proposals,” the company said in a letter to staff.

    “Regrettably, this has driven us to these immediate actions.”
    State and federal governments are “locked in crisis talks to keep doors open” at Health e Care and other private hospitals as the coronavirus crisis grows in scope.

    “The important thing is that we keep beds open, particularly ICU beds,” said Deputy Prime Minister Michael McCormack.

    Health Minister Greg Hunt blasted the firing of nurses as an “astonishing breach of faith.”

    China’s direct impact on the health and security of Australian citizens has been highlighted repeatedly during the coronavirus outbreak.

    Massive supplies of critical medical gear have been hoarded by major Chinese companies in Australia and other countries and flown to China during the Wuhan coronavirus outbreak, as Infowars reported days ago.

    “Famous conservative philosopher Sir Roger Scruton argued that “intellectuals are naturally attracted by the idea of a planned society, in the belief that they will be in charge of it.” Trouble is, the intellectuals are in charge – and only an intellectual could think that our jobs, social relations, and institutions can be temporarily put into hibernation and then brought back to life via government edict. This is why shared sacrifice is so important. Those developing the ideas and policies which are putting Australians out of work must themselves have skin in the game and feel some of the pain of their own decisions and advice.

    “One suggestion is that for every one tenth of a percentage point increase in the unemployment rate (such as from 5.5 per cent to 5.6 per cent), is accompanied by a one per cent cut to the pay of senior public servants. And if the unemployment rate goes above seven per cent, the Secretary of the Treasury and the Governor of the Reserve Bank must lose their jobs.”

    I would contact your employer today and ask what the current protocols for your organization are at this time. If they are not permitting anyone to be on-site, then ask what they are doing for employees that are essentially on hiatus. If they are, ask if you can report to work as usual and request some sort of authorization that you are “essential” (it’s a loose term – I’m considered “essential” only because I’ve already said I prefer to work at the office rather than from home so the firm gives me my travel papers).

    I think we have a legitimate case for arrest of these clowns. I just realized that they have another plan here. This is the opposite of “social distancing”. Instead of people spreading throughout the stores while waiting to get to the “essentials” they are now herding them all into one small area. They are trying to force people into a small area INCREASING risk. This will also create an illusion of shortage causing panic, causing actual shortage, causing riots. They could be arrested under public safety infractions.

    My big worry right now is that a small business owner who decides they have lost everything and have nothing else to lose is going to decide one of these little dictators is “non-essential” and remove them permanently from the board.

    Walmart will begin limiting the number of customers who can be inside the store at any given time.

    County public health limited number of shoppers to 50 per big store here last week. Before that we were limiting it to 100. Store manager was going bug nuts trying to get answers and reasoning from the bureaucrats he talked to. At least the blanket ban applies to all stores here.

    As for this ventilator stuff – if they started using the hydroxochlorozuine, they could keep people off the fucking things and send them home.

    Pandemic over.

    This terrifies the Left.

    They thought they could use this to bring the Trump economy down..
    If the virus can be suppressed America can get back to work and that will rain on the Dem’s parade.

    These grubs would like to see death and misery just as long that they can gain Power.

    A bunch of Kiwi code cutters here has devised a free APP that manages queues. You arrive at a store or on the way to the store and you tell them your name and they give you a Line Number and approximate time to arrive FIRST IN LINE. You then get a 5 minute warning text. Drive up and walk right in and do your shopping with LOTS of personal space around you.

    Lines and problems of social spacing have vanished overnight.

    The APP is free to any company who want to use it.

    This pandemic is serious for sure , but there is an over the top civil liberties grab.

    Victoria Police in Melbourne forced the typical grey haired ‘little old lady’ to MOVE ON when she crossed some type of social (its) taboo by sitting on a public beach under her beach umbrella sipping a flask of coffee whilst reading a book.

    I have no idea who the nasty little fascist copper was but he should be ashamed of himself. There was a hue and cry but it was swept under the carpet by the Commissioner.

    Officials like this need to be publicly named and shamed in the media.

    You think you’ve got it bad?

    The cops here are moving along rock fishermen and anyone in a boat except commercial fishing boats that are considered an essential industry. The excuse is that they do not want to have to deploy the Coastguard to rescue them from the tide in case they get into trouble.

    There are a few beach fishermen on ‘our beac; everyday and they seem so far to be exempt from being moved along. How is sitting in a beach chair with a rod risking anybody? So far the cops are just cruising past lest the whole Bay rise up in indignation and force them to walk 8Km back to their station in Thames barefoot.

    🙂

    so why does NYC insist it is the model for what’s coming to the rest of the US
    when it’s transportation system looks like this and why isn’t the subway shut down?

    https://pjmedia.com/instapundit/363703/#respond

    Why are all the models for this virus not distinguishing between geographical areas?

    And why is the z-pac not being thrown at everything early? There is every evidence that this works and keeps people off the last-ditch ventilators yet every body is bitching about ventilators when they aren’t THROWING what everything has shown works and don’t give me any crap about ‘clinical trial’, all of NYC is a fucking clinical trial.

    This is garbage.

    @ Aussie Infidel:

    yeah, Barbarian clued me into Event201. I’m not ready to go all paranoid, pandemics have been a ‘thing’since The Decameron.

    I am tied down. I know exactly what I would do if I were on my own. But I’m not. There are living creatures that depend on me – and my sister has just started chemo for her own cancer – I am not my own agent.

    Fauci’s bullshit about the drug regimen is just that. If you’ve got a pandemic that is about to take down civilization you don’t squeek about clinical trials and models.

    The American people are not lab rats. And the sooner we ‘get that, the better we’ll come out of this. I am not ABOUT to live on my knees, but I’m well aware that it is exactly what some people are counting on.
