Levin was on Hannity last night and in full pissed off mode. Suggested DOJ file a “Writ of Prohibition” at the D.C. Circuit to stop Sullivan.

Saw your comment on Covington being asked to comment in the Flynn matter. What the hell is this judge thinking? Even if they were replaced, they are bound by privilege. They cannot comment.

I saw it and had to look it up. What I’m not clear on – does Flynn/Powell have standing to file or does it have to come from the gov’t?

I have not found one commentator who isn’t flummoxed by the Covington Burling invite. I remain unenlightened. Did Flynn have to release C&B from privilege at one point in order to change his plea or something?

yeah, here it is. I don’t know if this is blanket, but …

    Flynn Waives Attorney-Client Privilege

Donald Trump’s former national security advisor Michael Flynn has today waived attorney-client privilege, allowing prosecutors to interview his former attorneys at Covington & Burling LLP. Flynn withdrew his guilty plea on Jan. 14, 2020, claiming that he received ineffective assistance from his lawyers at Covington. The U.S. Attorney’s Office stated that Flynn’s claims would require information from those attorneys.

  10. 12 | May 15, 2020 10:00 am

    @ eaglesoars:

Hmm….Sidney was his lawyer then so I’m sure he didn’t waive privilege without her consent. And it would make sense for him to waive privilege to explain why he was withdrawing his guilty plea due to insufficiency of counsel.

Could be Sullivan wants to hear from them regarding Flynn’s claims of ineffective counsel, but doing it NOW seems very shady. He could just as easily have asked the AUSA to brief him on the subject.

Don’t feel bad – I had to look up a writ of prohibition too. It is SO rarely used and only in cases where a judicial officer is seriously exceeding his authority. The alternative is wait for the matter to conclude and cite the behavior on appeal, at least on the civil side. Most appeals have at least one ground that states that the “judge exceeded his authority when he/she ….”

From my reading, Sidney can file one herself, but it would probably have more weight in the Circuit coming from the DOJ.

I think D.C. Circuit is all ECF (Electronic Case Filing) so the court services will be getting a “tick” if anything comes in with the name “Michael Flynn” or “Emmett Sullivan” in the caption.

I asked an old friend who spent his whole life in the criminal law milieu, on the DEFENSE side. I texted and asked how often he’d go before the court and request to withdraw a guilty plea.

“I would say on the average of twice a month and defendant was always permitted to do so. Anything else would be railroading. And I know why you’re asking and don’t get me started.”

So, North Caroline is just going for it

With sheriffs and district attorneys opening defying enforcement of state stay-at-home orders, the Governor is quickly losing control of his statewide public health order.

The Re-Open NC effort has clearly undermined public adherence to the stay healthy at home policy.

The Governor and his team may not realize it, but the economy is opening-up regardless of what federal, state and local authorities are saying.

If you see any posts or comments on the Internet about Trump and this is a waste of money please point out to these assholes that military pilots need to keep current.

If the Blue Angels and Thunderbirds were not flying low over cities scaring small children and animals they would be doing exactly the same thing over Nevada.

Best none airshow display in the middle of nowhere that I saw repeatedly was in Iowa.

Sioux City is an Air National Guard Base.

    https://www.goang.com/locations/iowa/sioux-city-air-national-guard-base.html

At Sioux City Air National Guard Base, our primary mission is providing In-flight Refueling to all US Armed Forces and allied nations’ aircraft extending their flying range with the capability of transporting cargo, personnel and medevac operations.

So, the tankers were flying around over where I lived practicing refueling fighter jets. Yeah boring but…

Then the fighter jets had to get rid of the fuel so they could come back to the tanker and give said tanker aircraft more practice.

    Fighter jet playtime!!!!!

Occasional accidental sonic boom, but boys will be boys. ( and girls being girls probably )

So, the point of this post is these flyovers are not a politically driven waste of fuel, the pilots need currency. Weather over LA or over Buttfuck Iowa does not matter.

We did the same on the beach in Oscoda, MI, before they closed Wurtsmith AFB. The maneuvers went on over the water for a couple of hours a day, and we got to see all the planes, including F-16s and the huge cargo planes. Because they were close to the landing strip, they would often appear so close that you could identify the pilots. I loved it! Michigan law permits it, but it seems there is ALWAYS a threat of recall to every governor, no matter the party. Nothing ever comes of it, probably because you need more votes in the state senate to make it a serious attempt than you can ever muster, due to the 50-50 split that is the norm in this state.

    Kittens are no longer kittens.

They are now officially small cats.

This last three months were the most satisfying three months of my life.

I have to now admit that I did not think I could raise two day old kittens. But they fought to survive and did.

Little bastards are now driving me nuts! 🙂

My brother’s father-in-law was in charge of the Nature Center on Belle Isle, located in the Detroit River, for 25 years. He got broomed out during the Coleman Young years, when all the city jobs were being taken from white guys and sold to black guys with no clue about the jobs in question. My sis-in-law had a litter or two of orphan raccoons, possums, squirrels or, yes, wild puppies or kittens every spring to nurse into a state where they could be released into the wild or adopted. You would have fit right in, Possum Kingdom.

    That was stated badly.

“First of all, our convention has to happen, because we are not officially nominating Joe Biden in order to take Donald Trump,” Hinojosa replied. “So our convention is happening. There is business that has to happen”

I think what she meant to say is that the purpose of the convention isn’t nominating Biden. He has the delegates, so whether or not he stands up on a stage and makes a speech is irrelevant. He’s still the nominee.

I believe they do legally have to hold at least a portion of the convention. The DNC is a 501(c)3 organization, and its bylaws require them to hold a convention every 4 years.

I remember what happened with the NRA Annual meetings in Denver in 1999, which were scheduled for 2 weeks after the Columbine High School shootings. All sorts of left-wingers were demanding that the event be cancelled, but it couldn’t be. They’re required to hold the convention every year. They did cancel the exhibits, and most of the public events, but the Annual Meeting of members on Saturday did happen.

My life for the past few days was play on the computer until sleepy then crawl into bed with the Blue Bunny and spend half an hour or so just using my phone to read the news and twitter while sharing Mr Blue Bunny with my friends.

Then getting up to pee, brushing teeth and sleepy time..

    Not any more!

Wednesday night one of my friends had more Blue Bunny than a friend should have and at 2am violently vomited all over our bed. Yep the “bock… Bock… BOCK… gweuughl ” thing

So. Yes my friends like ice cream but maybe human type ice cream is not good for them.

He also sold $309.00 of “Inflatable Geisha Girl” to a person identified only as “dongquixotevonslutshamer,” whoever that may have been. Johnson is hawking products by posting the music Amazon links on twitter.

Anyway it was just a thought. I have no problem clicking on an Amazon link here and being sent to Amazon every time I want to buy from Amazon and the site gets commission.

    https://affiliate-program.amazon.com/help/node/topic/G9SMD8TQHFJ7728F

You earn advertising fees on any qualifying items placed in a customer’s Shopping Cart within 24 hours of their arrival at Amazon.com via your Associates link. However, this 24-hour window closes once the customer submits his order or reenters Amazon.com through another Associate’s link.

That is why Johnson posts the music shit on twitter. Click on it and for the next 24 hours if you buy from Amazon he gets money.

You think he actually listens to music he promotes?

    Happy Birthday, Rain!

Did you say you were 55? Man, it must be GREAT to be so young! I’m a crusty old 61. I remember when the Democrats running for office were WWII vets, who didn’t hate America. I remember Nixon being president, and reading about his resignation while delivering the Detroit Free Press at 6am. I remember this woman on my route who often greeted me at the door wearing her sheerest nightgown, and I was more than fine with it. I remember my first rock concert, which was David Bowie at the old Michigan Palace, during his very racist “Thin White Duke”-tour. And other things…

Pennsylvania’s Transgender Health Secretary Focusing on Gender Identity in Collection of Coronavirus Data

Gov. Tom Wolf’s (D) office this week announced that the state’s health department, under transgender Health Secretary Rachel Levine, is focusing on gender identity and sexual orientation or expression in the state’s collection of coronavirus data.

“Governor Tom Wolf today took another step in his commitment to fair treatment and inclusion of LGBTQ Pennsylvanians by announcing ways the community will be counted in COVID-19 data,” his office announced on Wednesday.

According to the announcement, the Department of Health “will be conducting extensive case histories investigations as part of contact tracing on those who test positive for the virus” as individual counties begin moving from the red phase to yellow. As a result, the department will work with Sara Alert, described as a “new data collection platform,” and has requested a “system modification to the platform to collect sexual orientation and gender identity (SOGI) data”

I can see the creation of a new position on those teams, “Advisor to the Head Coach”. This position is filled by the most qualified person regardless of race. The head coach then becomes token position and the advisor position is where all the strategy is devised. Kind of like the Valerie Jarrett/Obama setup.

Several States Issue Orders Requiring People To Run Around In Giant Hamster Balls

Americans in several states are readily adopting new social distancing measures that will guarantee that no one ever gets sick again. California, New York, Michigan and Washington state legislatures have all issued new orders to their citizens to indefinitely don a plastic hamster ball whenever they decide to travel outside their home. The human-sized hamster balls are made to be impervious to all foreign particulate matter from the outside world including viruses, bacteria, and oxygen.

“I guess if it keeps everybody safe, we have to accept the new normal,” said Carol from Seattle, WA, as she attempted to climb into the hollow sphere and snap the plastic portal back into a tight seal so she could get over to the grocery store. When she reached her car she quickly realized that she could not open her car door, or indeed interact with her car at all in any way, so she began the 2 mile journey to the store with a carefully executed controlled roll down her driveway.

The hollow safety spheres are creating a stir and cities are quickly scrambling to invent new traffic codes and install “tracks” along the roads that cars were once allowed to travel in order to minimize collisions and the occasional hamster ball getting stuck in a culvert or sliding off into a ditch.

“This is just the way things have to be and anyone who disagrees just wants grandmas to die,” declared Governor of Michigan, Gretchen Whitmer. “My conscience is as clear as these plastic safety spheres,” she said as she pointed to the recently added selection of human-sized hamster balls right next to the seeds and gardening tools which were still behind a rope barrier and various signs deeming those items non-essential.

Citizens will have to travel to the store somehow to purchase the safety spheres and there is a grace period until everyone is able to pick one up.

“You can walk into a store with a mask, but you have to roll out in a safety sphere,” declared Governor Andrew Cuomo.

“You don’t want to be carried out in a coffin do you?” the governor added.

At publishing time, it was unclear if the order would cease to be necessary at some point or if this was just how things have to be from now on.

Nick Searcy, writes hilarious piece on current insantiy

The other day when it was really hot, our neighbors were socially distancing in our swimming pool, and I needed to make a perilous virus-dodging run to the bombed-out battlefield we in what used to be America used to call “the grocery store.”

As a proper wrestling fan, I of course possess a luche libre wrestling mask, and so as a joke, I put it on, and announced to the swimmers that I was going in search of dinner and toilet paper.

Laughter ensued. One of them pointed out that my nose and mouth was not sufficiently covered by the Mask of Mil Mascaras, so I even put on a #FaceDiaper (as my golf buddy A.B. calls them). They squealed with delight, screaming “I DARE YOU.” (Yes, “squealed.” You’d have to know my neighbors.)

So, having been dared, I had to do it. I thought, “This will be hilarious. I really should film this. People are going to laugh and laugh…”

This is what I looked like.
    [pic]

I did a whole grocery run, about 20 minutes — and nobody laughed. Not on the way into the store, not while I was shopping, nothing. I got NO ATTENTION whatsoever (and as an international film and television star, this is always VERY upsetting). Nobody thought it was funny, or scary, or weird, or ANYTHING. Nobody noticed. Even the cashier smiled and asked me if I was having a nice day.

Two months ago, she would have called the police.

You may have it and not have any symptoms — but you may spread this thing with no symptoms to someone else who also may not have symptoms, so you have to stay home. But if someone else gets it and has symptoms, then you are a murderer, so you have to stay home. In order for you to be sure you don’t have it, YOU HAVE TO BE TESTED — but then, even if you test negative for the virus, YOU MIGHT GET IT 30 SECONDS AFTER THE TEST, so you have to stay home. And we can’t ever go back to normal until every single human being in America is tested — but even then, we can’t be sure, so you have to stay home.

    Pretty much sums it up…

So, that execrable bill for $3T in funny money that passed the House? The price tag is just a distraction. It seems that it allows House members to name a proxy to vote for them. People of all ages not wearing masks congregating outdoor spaces being waited on by young folk who are SO excited to be back to work. Hubby gave one of our waitresses a $50 bill for a tip and she almost cried. We need to get back open 100%! Everyone we talked to said it was not a partisan issue. Young & old were celebrating that we were open on a sunny day in Ohio!

So, let’s try this again now that it’s working. This is the kind of thing the Nazi party would have killed for (and did). They need to understand the dangers of what this kind of tracking portends. AND how it can be used both ways. The ignorance in this kind of usage is mindblowing and sickening. The tracking is bad enough in a “free” country, but to utilize it in the way has very very bad overtones that I don’t think they considered or they wouldn’t have allowed this to be announced in the press. The “optics” on this aren’t good at all. Very “we’re going to round out people who don’t fit our standards” sort of feeling.

Ugh. Let’s clean the palette of undesirable people named Svante.

    My favorite Svante:

    From Wikipedia:
Svante Pääbo ([ˈsvanːteː ˈpæːboː]; born 20 April 1955) is a Swedish geneticist specialising in the field of evolutionary genetics.[3] As one of the founders of paleogenetics, he has worked extensively on the neanderthal genome. Since 1997, he has been director of the Department of Genetics at the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology in Leipzig, Germany.

Pioneered paleogenetics. A very self effacing and gentle person who shows much humility. With the latest technology was able to determine all non-African peoples have a small percent (2 – 4%) Neanderthal (and now Denisovan) DNA.

Apparently 0bungle has the mis-impression that he was a leader and not merely a teleprompter reader for 8 years and who did nothing for the average American middle class taxpayer. Bashes Trump and of course and has to throw gas on the latest Social Justice fire of a black guy shot by two apparent white rednecks as the MSM narrative goes. The latter has convicted them but I suspect there’s more to the story.

If you search Duckduckgo (not Google which suppresses anything against the approved narrative) you find out Arbery, his brother (a convicted felon) and his cousin are all well known to local LE. So apparently the young fellow didn’t just go around wearing a tux and a winning smile all of the time. Like the time he was caught with a gun on his HS campus. These facts will likely have to come out in court if the prosecutors want to make hay of the fact one of the murder suspects (the elder) knew Arbery in his role as police investigator.

The fact that the small star is located near the centre of the Galaxy is not too good however. Dragons be there

    🙂

That is where there are massive ionising radiation events that bathe planets and tear their atmospheres away. I’m shocked! Said no one. Of course her daughter’s an anti-American haughty little creep.

Interesting thing too is I notice a lot of the comments are mocking Ilhan about her marrying her brother. And how perverted that is. But the truth is she ONLY married her brother to get him over here and away from the gay lifestyle he was living over in London. So yes she’s an anti-American fraud perpetrating crook. But she’s not an incestuous perv. Like many Muslims she’s not OKAY with gay. That’s the main dirty secret here aside from immigration fraud. Another one is she appears to be quite the hot little bed jumper screwing around behind his back on Hubby #1 with the campaign vendor. So she’s OKAY with screwing around and to hell with Allah. But not OKAY with gays living how they want – something her libtard constituents might like to know about but the MSM will never tell them.

    @ Octopus:

I dunno. There’s something about a comfortable crotch in a tree and a reliable supply of bananas just makes you want to put off any big decisions for another day. Plus you start running, next thing you know you’re hairless so you can sweat and cool your body. All the good fun is in the grooming and the tasty little surprises under the matted fur.

Sad thing is, I had to check to make sure it was Babylon Bee. I can see several states trying that.

Of course not. None of this stuff is coincidental, it’s all planned.

Now extrapolate that to the current pandemic insanity

After much reflection, I’ve concluded that circumstances don’t lend themselves to my success as a candidate for president this year, and therefore I will not be a candidate.

My opinion, I think the DNC did some surveys and realized he was going to siphon off more (D) votes than (R) votes so they sent someone to Amash to Arkansplain why running for president would not be in Amash’s best interests or desire for a long, healthy life.

A very small amount of ice cream is ok. Small spoonful at most, and only once in a while.

we got what phillie voted for…and we live 300 miles away. there are 2 pennsylavanias. one starts ‘somewhere east’ of harrisburg, the capital. and the other is in the west.

eastern PA starts where you begin detecting the ‘philly bad attitude’ /I95 coridor. this heavily populated area is more NYC/NJ (north) than PA

western pa is completely and utterly different. if could easily be its own state. there is very little in common between these two zones

My sister lives in Effort, PA. There’s usually a bear in her backyard. One time it was in the garage, and started running at her when she opened the door from her kitchen. Got the door shut just in time.

Not that I’m complaining, I’m very grateful to be allowed onto the premises given my sketchy past and the vulgar graffiti. Shameful!

But this pink champagne stinks on ice. A decent hotel should have some decent wine available, for paying guests.
