Day 72 of the Great American Lockdown

Keep en eye on this race, it’s in the gerrymandered and mangled district where I live. Lamb is the democrat who claims to be a ‘combat veteran’. Yes, he was IN a combat zone, per se. He was a Havaaaahd JAG officer who prosecuted Marines in the combat zone. The idiot suburban White Women in the south hills (thanks Mt Lebo, the same assholes who spawned Mark Cuban) managed to get him elected because Trump is to crass and vulgar for these nouveau riche, pearl clutching pinheads. The morons believed that, as he said, he would not be a rubber stamp for Pelosi. He lied of course, but the idiot, social climbing white women in the South Suburbs believed him.

Parnell is he real deal combat vet. He went to a land grant school after he was retired from the Army due to his wounds. I wonder if the fairer gentry in the South Hills can manage to vote for a *GASP* enlisted man?

This is the ground zero, #1 Congressional battle of 2020.

Didn’t Selana Zito profile this race not too long ago? I can vouch for the Mt Lebo characterization, I grew up there and still hate it.

And speaking of Karens, what went down last night was the most karmic takedown of a Karen you will ever see.

Some woman, was walking her dog off leash in Central Park in an area where dogs are req’d to be leashed. When someone pointed it out to her and directed her to an area of the park where off leash is permitted, she went ballistic. When he tried to offer her dog a treat, she called the cops and told them an “African American man” was threatening her life.

All caught on video and posted to social media. She had to surrender the dog back to the rescue agency she adopted it from, her employer has put her on admin leave before firing her ass and everybody in the world now knows her name. And hates her guts.

Given that she’s Canadian and will soon be unemployable, I imagine she’ll be headed north soon, too.

    REad all about it

    @ The Barbarian:

Sorry, he was absolutely blameless. Doing what he wanted was offering her dog a treat – which I don’t recommend, but that’s all he did.

I have zero sympathy for this woman. And looking at her social media posts people dug up, she’d been abusing the dog too. Nope. Back to Canada with her, don’t let the door and all that………..

Had there been no video, this guy could have ended up in prison or financially cleaned out from legal bills. No mercy.

    @ eaglesoars:

Oh don’t get me wrong – I think the woman was abominable – but saying something like “I’ll do want I want to do and you won’t like it” wasn’t the smartest thing to say. But a 9-1-1 call? Oh hell no.

You and I would have had a first response – leashed or not – to ask if we could pet her puppy. I mean it wasn’t a pit bull for crying out loud – it was a cocker spaniel.

BTW, looks like the woman was told to surrender the cocker spaniel to the rescue organization she got it from – especially after she was practically choking the dog. And was placed on Administrative Leave at her job. If you can believe Twitter.

Knoxville? I envy you. If only for the fact that the “Velvet Glove” is within “meet for a glass of wine” distance.

Franklin Templeton’s statement is reproduced at the Daily Mail article.

How I would have treated her would depend entirely on if I had one of my dogs with me. Leashed dogs tend to react to unleashed dogs with fear because they are at a defensive disadvantage. By myself, yeah, I would have asked to meet her pup.

My sister and I stayed with Velvet Glove when we went down to see the house a couple weeks ago. We had a great time and she was so generous making sure I got my bearings around the place. She’s a terrific gardener and she’s got all sorts of ideas for the yard.

This time, tho, Hubby and I will be in a hotel, and it’s going to be mostly the paperwork stuff with the closing. We’re trying to find time to meet up with her because I would like Hubby to meet her, he’s heard me talk about her and Iron Fist for like 12 years or something.

What’s making me nervous, tho, is that he’s not seen the house except in pictures. I sure hope he still likes it in real life. *gulp*

no state income tax (sales tax is 9% tho) and ain’t nobody coming for my guns. That’s what drove me out of Virginia, the guns, and straight to TN.

The thing about Knoxville, tho – a solid university system with a veterinary school, it’s a small big town and the surrounding areas are gorgeous, Smokey Mtns, etc. Weather is moderate. And even tho I was raised as a Yankee, mom was all Mardi Gras Queen/New Orleans and I miss the culture of the south. You’re Carolina Girl, you know what I mean. Please, thank you, yes m’aam, pass the ammo…like that.

  28. 28 | May 26, 2020 12:09 pm

    @ eaglesoars:

Oh heck yeah. Manners are nonexistent on the West Coast. My son was brought up to address women as Miss Katrina, Miss Melody, etc. Still does it.

9% sales tax? A bargain. Here it’s 10%. Plus our vehicle registration is astronomical. The only GOOD thing we have is Prop. 13 protections against oppressive property tax increases and I’m sure Newsome is planning to try like hell to get that repealed.

  29. 29 | May 26, 2020 12:15 pm

What’s going to prove problematic for Northern California opening back up and Newsome’s whole “mail in ballot” scheme is that there is no way they will be able to pull it off without opening up mass transit. Once office buildings are opened back up, there is no way BART will be able to maintain any semblance of “social distancing.” It carried over 400,000 people a day. Trains were packed during rush hour. I’m sure face masks will continue to be required, but there’s no way BART has enough trains and operators to keep one person to a seat and no standing. They’d have to run one train every minute on each line. So if you can go to work on mass transit, there’s no reason at all why you can’t stand in line at a polling place.

And if you can do it in Northern California, you can do it in Southern California.

My mother was a Connecticut Yankee, from a family that made the BUCKLEYs look like the Kennedys. To this day, my back does not touch the back of a chair, my elbows are never ON the table until after the plates are cleared away and in public my legs are crossed at the ankles.

    @ eaglesoars:

I have not failed to notice also that there’s a BIG difference in price between Remdesivir and the Z-Pack. Which is probably why Fauxci waxed rhapsodic over the former – there was money to be made.

This is the order of events as I recall. Maybe 1 and 2 are reversed. But in any case, none of this makes any sense

    @ eaglesoars:

You’re better versed than I am on this one; I first heard of HCQ because the French doctor was having success with it and other doctors also followed suit and said they were getting positive results. I heard later that zinc was part of the mix. Then Fauxci was high on remdesivir and minimized the Z-pack therapies. Now those trials were halted.

For me, most of this hasn’t made sense from the beginning.

at the NIH are just going through the motions to keep the mobs off the streets and locked securely away. The old carrot and stick routine. Give the serfs a peep of hope to keep them afraid of catching something before the miraculous cure emerges. Then construct the ‘theatre of the absurd’ that has no chance of being successful whilst at the same time threatening those same serfs… for their own good … donchaknow!

We have to go through all this bad Malthusian theatre just to play along with the State government’s belief that it has everything under control. We are essentially waiting for the government’s ‘God moment’, the moment when it announces it has developed a vaccine and we are all in the clear.
The government cannot admit its intrinsic impotence to control disease, so it controls people instead. The people pay the price for the government’s dangerous illusions. Democracies force their own people to beg for the authoritarian measures which alone are touted as remedies for what democracy has wrought. Begin with the Bastille, end with Robespierre, and then get Napoleon to boot.

Every bloody time and I do mean bloody.

I’ve got a daft older sibling who is convinced the “massive increase” in epidemic-type diseases is like totally caused by Teh Warmening, aka “Global Climate Chaos OMFG!!1!” She likes to throw little stupid-grenades like that into family text threads, where we’re talking about normal sane stuff and memories that do not include her being the victim of bullying and/or neglect in her childhood. Never happened, of course — if anything, she was the bully with another sister she roomed with most of her young life, and she got away with murder in her teens, too. I’ve got stories, but you know there’s no statute of limitations on murder, so I’d better not spill them here.

I am hoping for a completely successful launch and mission for the NASA-Space X collaboration today, but I have way too many doubts about Elon Musk and his lofty promises to feel comfortable. And then there’s NASA itself, which has been politicized to push climate bullshit, and I’m not sure they have a clear vision of what needs to be accomplished in space. There are a lot of astronauts involved in the planning of this thing, so I hope they’re “Right Stuff”-types who are looking out for their fellow space explorers. It’s always dangerous, and accidents happen fairly regularly. Have a safe trip!

I never got around to watching this confrontational interview of Dan Crenshaw by Bill Maher, until today. It’s great to see a skilled and principled man dismantle a lying, partisan hack, and I think you know which is which here.

One of the best indications that people KNEW what kind of sick pedo Joe was is that video where he creeps up on Jeff Sessions little granddaughter and he slaps his hand away and immediately moves her away from him. Joe is left standing there looking like the creep he is.

Notice that Bill says he used to host a show called “Politically Incorrect.” What he fails to mention is that ABC canceled his show after he bled advertisers and significant drop in the ratings after he disparaged the American military and praised the 9/11 hijackers.

In all these creepy Biden videos, it’s incredible the way his hands just start grabbing and fondling women of all ages. He has NO control over them! Usually his face goes into some kind of weird expression similar to a fugue state, too, as if he’s acting out an inner-script. Like a serial killer, but he’s “only” a serial molester and pedophile, as far as we know.

Sessions was masterful, there. The look he shot Biden pushed him back a bit. The woman next to Uncle Sniffy witnessed the whole thing, too, and she approved of what happened — she knows the creep’s deal.

I ate something bad yesterday, probably the Quarter-Pounder from McDonald’s I’d been craving, and I was nauseous all night until I finally got up and barfed at 3am. Still not right today, but no barfing, just not feeling up to eating. No fever or any other symptoms.

Anyway, laying here recuperating, I saw the Iron Fist 2016 header, and decided to check it out. I knew him a bit from LGF, and always enjoyed his commentary. He was a very lovable ruffian, who didn’t mince words. I knew he had had a rough fight with cancer, but reading through his posts, I see it was a very brutal road he traveled. My wife and I lost three of our four parents to cancer, and we were with them all the way, especially hands-on with her parents, as nobody else in the family could spare the time from work or their own life problems. People here right now are fighting cancer, as is my sister in Colorado, who just found out her bowel cancer has returned and spread, after several years in remission. The Big C never sleeps.

I’ve gotten through about a third of the document, and I am struck by how fortunate he was to have found peace in his life, with his wife, job, cats and himself. He had quit drinking, too — I’ve occasionally violated the old “Iron Fist Rule,” which was, if I’m stating it correctly, “If you think you’re too drunk to post, you ARE too drunk to post.”

If only he could have had more time to enjoy that peaceful existence, ride his bike and write his book about finding God. I had no idea what a turbulent and tragic life he’d had at times, in his younger days.

RIP, Iron Fist. I will read the rest of the story later.

I don’t believe this. Judges in the 9th Circuit have ruled 2-1 that Newsom can close down churches until there is a “cure” for COVID.

Like the people in every big city who cry about not having nice stores near where they live, when they’ve literally killed every attempt by store owners to do business there.

Some might say, well, they’re justified in still being mad about the slavery and segregation, so you need to be understanding. Then I show them the stats on black-on-black crime. This leaves them gobsmacked and stammering, as you can well imagine. Finally, I remind them of how Rosa Parks was robbed and beaten in her Detroit apartment by a young thug who knew exactly who she was. At this point, I assist them up off the floor, give them some water, and wish them a good day.

Looking forward to seeing those Flynn transcripts released. Supposedly, Susan Rice said she wanted them released. Yeah, and I remember how Pencil-neck kept saying he WISHED he could release those transcripts of his as well, but you know, they’re classified…..

Until he had to release when Grenell said “you or me, pal. One of us is going to make it public.” I think the same will be true here. Rice is no doubt busy attempting to draft another CYA statement when it’s revealed there was NOTHING to justify an interview with Flynn or an attempt to charge him with the Logan Act.

Speaking of CYA…I’m starting to wonder if Judge Sullivan started pulling all this crazy procedural stuff in order to get Sidney Powell to file a mandamus brief. He just kept adding more and more “ridiculosity” in this case until she finally HAD to have the Circuit step in. Why? Because Sullivan doesn’t want the Democrats and media coming after him for doing the judicially correct thing. He wants the Circuit to order him to dismiss the case so that he can hit the party circuit and say “Yeah, I would have sent him to jail but the Circuit stopped me. It’s all Barr’s fault.”

The fact that it was revealed that Sullivan got Comey a $100,000 speaking gig doesn’t do a thing for his credibility, either.

Jack Dorsey and his merry band of brownshirts over at Twitter should have sat down with their lawyers before proclaiming to the internet that in the future, they would be moderating the “factual” content of user’s tweets.

By doing so, they went from “platform” to “publisher” – because once you do anything that smacks of editing on a public PLATFORM, you have now taken control of content. You are now a PUBLISHER. And your safeguards against libel and slander no longer apply. In essence, Jack Dorsey (if taken to the extreme, which we should) is now liable for any libel committed against any person on his platform.

And the fact that it’s a private company is no protection. First of all, for all intents and purposes, they have a MONOPOLY on this type of platform. Sure there is Gab and Parler, but Microsoft was sued for anti-trust even though there were competitors to Explorer. The Reno DOJ went after them when they linked Explorer to the operating system and made side deals with the hardware manufacturers. Netscape used to have 86% of the browser business before they did this. Then it fell precipitously after the OEM deals with MS and finally MS bought it at a bargain basement price and dumped it in the trashcan.

In many ways, I’d love to see Trump leave Twitter and go to Parler. And take his 40 million followers. And if he did that, I’d like to hope that every conservative on Twitter would disengage their account and go to Parler as well. The fall in Twitter stock would be amazing. Plus everyone would need a Parler account to follow him so users would increase (wishful thinking, I know).

Good morning. Gregg Jarrett recounts John Dowds dealings with Muller.
If you think the Muller is a dirt bag, you are correct.
This was nothing but an attempt to set a jerjury trap for the President. Muller and his band of raging Democrst partisan lawyers knew that there was no collusion. This was an attempted coup!

The coup was obvious from the beginning. Somehow, and for whatever reason, Trump’s win over Hillary scared Donkeys to death & that goes for a bunch of so-called Republicans too. There’s crap they are afraid will be exposed??

It was an obvious coup from the jump.
They had to think that they were covered because Hillary was a lock to win.
As I see it the hysteria after Trump won is that they could no co-opt him .
He does not need money and he doesn’t need their friendship.
Trump does not orate like Cicero, but he is smart and is in it for the people.

The destruction stretched into the Uptown neighborhood, where damage marked the Apple store, Thurston Jewelers and Hi-Lake Liquors, as well as other businesses near Calhoun Square. The area is about 3 miles from the 3rd Precinct.

The owner of Thurston Jewelers said hundreds of thousands of dollars of merchandise was stolen from the store. The shop itself was “totalled,” he said.

It’s free stuff. There is video of them destroying the self-checkout cash machines. Normal human beings, no matter HOW angry they are at injustice, do not go out and destroy and steal the property of others. That this is the first response from this mindset tells me everything I need to know.

I’ve been pissed as hell – the OJ Verdict for instance – when I watched a walking turd get away with savagely hacking two people to death because an inept prosecution team allowed a famewhoring judge to make riduculous rulings that went unchallenged. I watched a black juror literally dismiss the actions of the defendant (she went on later to face charges and lose her job over contacting a member of the CIVIL jury). Because they “stuck it to Whitey” with this verdict. How’d that work out for you, SJW’s? He only came back to the Black Community long enough to pass a collection plate. Then it was back to the golf course.

Do you know what I DIDN’T do after the OJ Verdict? Run through the mall setting stores on fire and stealing everything I could get my hands on.

I wonder if they swiped anything from the Apple Store. If so, it won’t help them. If they sell them, the individual should not be able to use them because there will be no bar-code record of an initial point of sale and the product will come up stolen.

Gruesome Newsom must be getting ready to open up the office buildings.

I just went downstairs and it looks like the effing DMV. Directional signs on the floor advising which way to walk (One Way), elevators may only hold TWO people and you have to wait until one elevator departs before you can scan your security badge to request another – everyone waiting for an elevator six feet apart and a barricade to keep people on the correct side.

    This has gone BEYOND ridiculous.

That man is too old to be a rookie cop, and I’m betting he has a ton of complaints in his file. This isn’t the first time he’s abused somebody in custody.

I’m very glad our DoD buddies are no longer homeless! Don’t be strangers, it’s been fun having you around.

We closed on the house a few hours ago. Met the sellers, very nice people still in the area who have promised to visit, we exchanged contact info. We are taking Velvet Glove to dinner tonite at a great steak house – we went there last nite and it was so good we’re going again tonite. THEY HAVE FRIED GREEN TOMATOES!! I needn’t have worried about Hubby not liking the house, he loves it. Back to DC tomorrow but I’m considering leaving the Heathen Beagles where they are.

So, thinking about this, why are the powers that be promoting this so much? They have to know they aren’t effective. I don’t think it’s a pure power thing either. So, they are presenting this “pandemic” as an existential threat. There are many people totally frightened by all of this and feeling totally helpless. So, the powers that be have identified a mechanism whereby people can take control of their own destiny and feel like they are doing something. “Wear a mask!”, not only are people doing something to protect themselves say the propagandists, but they are also protecting others around them and stopping the spread of the disease. Never mind that you actually have to be infected to be a threat to others and the infection rate is quite low, so you really aren’t protecting anyone because you don’t have anything that is a threat. But you are doing something, you are contributing to the cause, you are no longer helpless and at the mercy of an uncaring universe. You are making a difference! … and the mask is so public and obvious, everyone knows you are contributing to the cause. … and you can now shame and ridicule those who are hurting the cause by not wearing a face covering. You have power, you have influence, you are somebody!

This is probably even more prevalent in those who do not have hope for eternal life and believe that this life is all there is, so they need to protect their mortality by every means necessary and belong to something. Phil Robertson of Duck Dynasty fame has a very good video on this.

Now, extrapolate this to the climate change panic and scare — same thing, just different icons to give the gullible the feeling they are important and making a difference.
