Mad Dog strikes. I was not a fan of Mattis, there was always something about him that bothered me.
This opinion piece that he wrote for the Atlantic to me is twisting things out of recognition.
He finds a way to pretty much blame Trump for theSpanis Flu and Pearl Harbor.

    @ RIX:

That piece was NOT “off the cuff.”

It could have been written by a combination of Bush/Obama staff, the way it reads.

Way more than Mattis’ personal, egotist beef.

    Just my 2 cents

Could be. Also possible that Mattis is looking for his old job back in a Biden Administration.

Apparently one of his Civil War heroes must have been George McClellan. He’ll probably be remembered the same way.

The absurd, sweeping rhetoric is too much to take.

    This is a coordinated effort.

I’ve seen reports that Karl Rove has been advising Trump on race relations It wouldn’t surprise me to learn, if true, that Rove set the church scene up on a tee.

Rish Limbaugh often voices the notion that Trump isn’t wired ideologically at all, and is STILL genuinely astounded at how he is getting no support at all from almost anyone in DC.

His instincts are almost always on point, but I question his choice in advisors more and more.

the press outlets write for their audience anymore so as not to disrupt the revenue stream.

they are hostages to a given ideology to stay afloat, both left and right.

and this is a good thing because there is no longer a single walter kronkite in total control of the news. so many outlets now and so many ways to remember and bring up the double standards.

I noticed. And in the UK, too. Europeans never miss an opportunity to whack the USA. Here our left politicians like to use it to clobber their conservative opponents, not understanding the history (big surprise there).

James Ceaser, Professor of Political Science at University of Virginia, wrote a superb book about it. Reconstructing America: The Symbol of America in Modern Thought.

    https://smile.amazon.com/Reconstructing-America-Symbol-Modern-Thought/dp/0300070535/ref=sr_1_5?dchild=1&keywords=James+Ceaser&qid=1591299979&s=books&sr=1-5

There’s a story that might even be true. When Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, et. al., were in France trying to get support for the revolution, there were invited to dinner at some aristocrat’s home. The subject matter turned to current scientific thought, Jean-Baptiste Lamarck, etc. The French stated as a matter of fact that on the American continent, all species shrank. Trees, animals, etc. I think it was Franklin who said, “Gentleman, I invite us all to stand”.

    All the Americans were taller.

This crap has gone beyond absurd. We got a missive from one of the PHB’s today saying that “even though there is positive trending in the number of Covid cases, the restrictions and “precautions” [cough cough BS] of social distancing and face coverings are going to continue indefinitely. This is definitely making the retirement option look more and more attractive. My company has gone full on SJW with Floyd stuff and fully bought in to all the social distancing nonsense. You would think a high tech company would actually follow the science and let people know that the face masks do nothing to stop a virus. … and that wearing the same mask all day is likely to cause more problems than it solves.

No. Mattis is older than I am, Dempsey is the same age. Keep in mind, Mattis equated Trump to a Nazi. This is not casual. This is deliberate. They know how this works, they understand better than the ordinary citizen that they are giving aid and comfort to the enemy. They are not acting on their own agency.

Iron Fist and I used to talk about this a lot. I think the one thing that would have surprised him was the mutiny in the military.

Well I know a few old fashioned Democrats who make their point by NOT voting. As for the mutiny within the upper ranks of colonels and general officers, especially those inside the Pentagon bubble, why won’t the AG name them? One 3 star outed himself and nothing happened to him. Curious

One would have thought…. here is your cardboard box, clean out your personal stuff and get out, You’re Fired….. or words to that effect!

    🙂

But so far… zip, nada, nothing.

Warnings ring hollow as soon as they leave one’s lips. Just do it!

Yes, that’s very disheartening. But if you think about it, it’s not totally surprising — those in the military are victims of our education system. They’ve been indoctrinated before going into the military

Oh, I don’t disagree about Mattis. I was thinking more along the lines of the younger officer ranks. I’m not sure what Mattis’s issue is, this is totally against all of what he swore to defend and uphold. Even as a civilian what he is doing is mutiny based upon his prior positions. You are right, this isn’t just criticism over policy, it’s a full frontal attack.

Our US public schools have become liberal indoctrination centers. This is not a generalization, it is a sad fact. The recruits leaving high school and going into the military are mostly a product of that system — there are exceptions, those who went to private non-indoctrination schools, those whose parents made an impression and pointed out the indoctrination, the home-schooled, etc. However, the fact is that the majority of our young have been through the public indoctrination system for almost two generations now.

The core problem is that ‘most’ of the Colonel and Star ranks who have squirmed their way into influent=ual positions at the Pentagon in particular and the I-95 beltway in general, are products of the US Military Industrial Complex and these denizens are keen to keep their earning and power options open when they retire.

Obviously they have rationalised the breaking of their oath and have been totally politicised. They have become Swamp Dwellers interested only in maintaining their power , privilege and access to wealth as lobbyists for the Corporations.

Time to clear the decks of this dead wood, promote the loyal Colonels and the few General officers left and kick upstairs a brace of LTC and Majors into senior command positions.

    Two Journal Studies Retracted

Authors of a hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) analysis published in The Lancet and a cardiovascular disease study in the New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM) have retracted both studies. The researchers cited concerns related to the integrity of the information provided by the Surgisphere Corporation. After independent reviewers were unable to validate key data from the company to confirm the studies’ findings, the authors requested the retractions.

These retractions came shortly after major journals had raised concern about the Surgisphere database underlying the studies. The founder of that company, Sapan S. Desai, MD, PhD, was a coauthor on both papers. Medscape investigated Desai’s publication history and found several warnings against research misconduct as well as multiple specialty-focused registry studies.

HA! In Fairfax County you just might. When I worked at MCI, for awhile some of the call center people were on our floor. There was a significant tagalog-speaking contingent, believe it or not. We even had software that could look at surnames and ‘predict’ what the first language might be so native speakers could be the ones to call them. For some reason, tho, the Vietnamese and Cambodians were always getting into fights.

“I don’t know yet, though several of us on the council are working on finding out, what it would take to disband the [Minneapolis Police Department] and start fresh with a community-oriented, non-violent public safety and outreach capacity,” tweeted Steve Fletcher, a council member who represents Ward 3 in Minneapolis.

Unfortunately for this Antifa-supporting dirtbag, I don’t know that you’ll be able to have the trial before the election. After all, court trials have been closed down for three months and those that were alaready on calendar need to go first. Am I the only one who is thinking that the man shoved in Buffalo was staging that whole falling down? First of all, you don’t advance on a police line that is clearing the road. Second, the guy barely poked him, and certainly not enough for that three-step ballet he did. And THIRD, who the hell falls down in a completely prone position and then crosses their legs? If I start to fall backwards, the FIRST thing I do is twist my body to the left or right to keep my head from hitting the pavement.

Oh, and I don’t think I’ve EVER crossed my legs afterward.

Also how is it that he was injured enough so that his EAR was bleeding but the back of his head is fine?

I’d like to see a report of his injuries confirmed by a medical doctor. So far I haven’t seen one. If anyone else has, I’ll retract my skepticism and say “mea culpa.” But if I had blood pouring out of my ear, I’d be asking them to get me an ambulance.

I’ve watched it 10 times, he did hit his head, it’s real blood. In slo mo, he twists to the side before he falls backward straight down. But cops walking between him and the camera block the view so you can’t see how his legs get crossed. There are about 2 critical seconds you can’t see

I just had an interesting day. After moping about missing the 30 dollar smoker around easter (or was it Christmas? I forget) I have been pretty much certain I was out of luck. Today I smoker popped up on Facebook locally for free. A Masterbuilt Electric. Well, I figured it was a nice small smoker, but I saw that it had several responses so it was going to be gone. Went ahead and slapped myself a couple of times for thinking negatively and jumped in my Jeep and drove across town. What greeted my eyes was a smoker still standing proudly on the curb waiting for someone to take it. Damn thing was nearly as tall as I was. I grabbed it and pulled it behind my vehicle as quickly as I could and it was a good thing I did because nearly a dozen vehicles pulled up and slowed down glaring at me as I fought with it and wrestled it into my jeep, lol.

Got it home and tested it out. Heated right up, connected to my phone with no issues.

So, managed to score a nearly 500 dollar smoker today for absolutely nothing. Already nicely seasoned too. Just had to clean the racks and the water bowl.

I guess today was my lucky day.

Amazing that every single GOP seat that was “close” and won on election night miraculously went to the Democrats after they knew how many votes they needed. Actually it was Utah beach that your dad was over

The main focus for the B-26 groups in the first half of 1944 was the preparation for D-Day. Many German airfields close to the French coast were rendered unusable by constant repeat attacks, while rail links, marshalling yards, Noball targets and coastal guns also came under attack. On 20 April the Ninth Air Force got its eighth and final B-26 group, allowing it to sent more than 330 aircraft against individual targets.
The B-26 played a direct part in the D-Day landings, starting with a series of attacks on seven targets at ‘Utah’ beach timed to take place at H-Hour minus 30 minutes. Eventually around 400 Marauders, operating in boxes of six, attacked coastal targets on D-Day, starting with an attack on three gun batteries in the British assault area. By the end of the day the B-26s and A-20s of the Ninth Air Force had made more than 1,000 sorties over the D-Day beaches. Over the next few days the Ninth used its B-26s in the campaign to isolate the German forces in Normandy, attacking transport links around the battle area.

Thank you for all that! This is Dad’s actual plane

    https://www.markstyling.com/b26s.06.htm

There was a deconstructed B-26 in the Smithsonian for awhile that Dad and I went to see. UNBELIEVABLY cramped.

As for the altitude he went in at, I know they started at 8000 ft and descended when they were ready to bomb, he didn’t remember the actual number – but it was low.

As for having to detour around the ships coming in to avoid being shot down – that must have been an excess of caution. By that time, there was almost no Luftwaffe left, Dad said they were making their bombing runs with just flack and anti-aircraft stuff to worry about but few dog fights. The Germans always came up to meet them, harass them on the way in, but wait for them to come back, low on fuel. THEN they fought. The escort fighters were only with them on the way in. But by D-Day – almost nothing. Dad did say he didn’t worry about being shot down, there were so many ships in the Channel they could have walked back. He felt sorry for the German boys who had to wake up to that sight and realize it was all over and they weren’t going to make it.

Oddly enough, I’ve not seen ONE aerial photo of it. It was dark when they took off, but there was daylight all day, ya know?

The noise of all those guns must have been heard in Paris.

This is from someone over at Instapundit

I’m in Chicago. We’ve had black flight from the city for quite a while now. the people moving into the city are mostly white, high income earners. They go to Wicker Park / Bucktown / West Loop / Uptown / Lincoln Park.

Michigan Avenue was hit really hard. The north part will recover. Too much money there to leave “on the table.” The south part, where black people of middle and low income shop at outlet stores, might not.

Wicker Park/Bucktown–the most “woke” of the upcoming areas with some leftover poor blacks, whites, and Hispanics who got houses there a long time ago, was hit hard. Perfect time to clean it up! And by clean it up, I mean remove poor people of all ethnicities.

The other white places haven’t been hit that hard. My neighborhood organized fast–boarding up shops and making them too difficult to bother with. We also supported our police with donations of water and snacks, and checked in with them whenever we saw them. Other white neighborhoods organized militias. They didn’t even need guns…just dad types with baseball bats.

Hispanic gangs stepped up in their hoods. According to black twitter, they racially profiled black people coming into their neighborhoods. They are much worse than the police.

The black neighborhoods of Englewood and Lawndale were hit hardest. They lost drug stores, grocers, barber and beauty shops, and places people could go for hardware and goods to improve their homes. I can’t imagine this won’t spur more black flight.

White supremacists couldn’t have planned it better. Listening to liberal white ladies talk about how the violence is “understandable” and if you don’t agree with it, you are racist really makes me wonder whose side they are on.

When I watch that video, it reminds me of the accident that killed an old colleague of mine. He was 82, and worked more and harder than most 40-year-olds. One night on his way to his car, he slipped on some ice and fell and hit his head. Got right up, and drove himself to the hospital to get checked. An hour after reaching the hospital, he passed out, and never woke up again. Brain bleed. Died at 2am. I couldn’t believe it. The funeral was the day after, him being Jewish. We disrupt the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure requirement by supporting each other as extended families and “villages” that collectively care for one another, especially our children, to the degree that mothers, parents, and children are comfortable.

Here’s something that’s going around. I’m agnostic, just passing it on. But it makes some sense. Derek Chauvin had multiple priors before he was even hired onto the force.

You’ve heard that the cop, Chauvin and Floyd may have known each other because they worked as bouncers or security at some nightclub for 18 yrs, right?

Well, it wasn’t a nightclub. It was a money laundering op disguised as a casino owned by something called the Omar Group. It had a little sideline in counterfeit bills, available to employees if used sparingly. Floyd wasn’t ‘sparing’, he abused his privileges, potentially exposing the entire op. When he was caught in the act – Chauvin was waiting.

This wasn’t 2nd degree murder, it wasn’t manslaughter, it was a hit.

    Open Letter to President Trump

    from Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò

    Vigano crest 2
    June 7, 2020
    Holy Trinity Sunday

    Mr. President,

In recent months we have been witnessing the formation of two opposing sides that I would call Biblical: the children of light and the children of darkness. The children of light constitute the most conspicuous part of humanity, while the children of darkness represent an absolute minority. And yet the former are the object of a sort of discrimination which places them in a situation of moral inferiority with respect to their adversaries, who often hold strategic positions in government, in politics, in the economy and in the media. In an apparently inexplicable way, the good are held hostage by the wicked and by those who help them either out of self-interest or fearfulness.

These two sides, which have a Biblical nature, follow the clear separation between the offspring of the Woman and the offspring of the Serpent. On the one hand there are those who, although they have a thousand defects and weaknesses, are motivated by the desire to do good, to be honest, to raise a family, to engage in work, to give prosperity to their homeland, to help the needy, and, in obedience to the Law of God, to merit the Kingdom of Heaven. On the other hand, there are those who serve themselves, who do not hold any moral principles, who want to demolish the family and the nation, exploit workers to make themselves unduly wealthy, foment internal divisions and wars, and accumulate power and money: for them the fallacious illusion of temporal well-being will one day – if they do not repent – yield to the terrible fate that awaits them, far from God, in eternal damnation.vig trump 2

In society, Mr. President, these two opposing realities co-exist as eternal enemies, just as God and Satan are eternal enemies. And it appears that the children of darkness – whom we may easily identify with the deep state which you wisely oppose and which is fiercely waging war against you in these days – have decided to show their cards, so to speak, by now revealing their plans. They seem to be so certain of already having everything under control that they have laid aside that circumspection that until now had at least partially concealed their true intentions. The investigations already under way will reveal the true responsibility of those who managed the Covid emergency not only in the area of health care but also in politics, the economy, and the media. We will probably find that in this colossal operation of social engineering there are people who have decided the fate of humanity, arrogating to themselves the right to act against the will of citizens and their representatives in the governments of nations.

We will also discover that the riots in these days were provoked by those who, seeing that the virus is inevitably fading and that the social alarm of the pandemic is waning, necessarily have had to provoke civil disturbances, because they would be followed by repression which, although legitimate, could be condemned as an unjustified aggression against the population. The same thing is also happening in Europe, in perfect synchrony. It is quite clear that the use of street protests is instrumental to the purposes of those who would like to see someone elected in the upcoming presidential elections who embodies the goals of the deep state and who expresses those goals faithfully and with conviction. It will not be surprising if, in a few months, we learn once again that hidden behind these acts of vandalism and violence there are those who hope to profit from the dissolution of the social order so as to build a world without freedom: Solve et Coagula, as the Masonic adage teaches.vig trump 3

Although it may seem disconcerting, the opposing alignments I have described are also found in religious circles. There are faithful Shepherds who care for the flock of Christ, but there are also mercenary infidels who seek to scatter the flock and hand the sheep over to be devoured by ravenous wolves. It is not surprising that these mercenaries are allies of the children of darkness and hate the children of light: just as there is a deep state, there is also a deep church that betrays its duties and forswears its proper commitments before God. Thus the Invisible Enemy, whom good rulers fight against in public affairs, is also fought against by good shepherds in the ecclesiastical sphere. It is a spiritual battle, which I spoke about in my recent Appeal which was published on May 8.

For the first time, the United States has in you a President who courageously defends the right to life, who is not ashamed to denounce the persecution of Christians throughout the world, who speaks of Jesus Christ and the right of citizens to freedom of worship. Your participation in the March for Life, and more recently your proclamation of the month of April as National Child Abuse Prevention Month, are actions that confirm which side you wish to fight on. And I dare to believe that both of us are on the same side in this battle, albeit with different weapons.vig trump 4

For this reason, I believe that the attack to which you were subjected after your visit to the National Shrine of Saint John Paul II is part of the orchestrated media narrative which seeks not to fight racism and bring social order, but to aggravate dispositions; not to bring justice, but to legitimize violence and crime; not to serve the truth, but to favor one political faction. And it is disconcerting that there are Bishops – such as those whom I recently denounced – who, by their words, prove that they are aligned on the opposing side. They are subservient to the deep state, to globalism, to aligned thought, to the New World Order which they invoke ever more frequently in the name of a universal brotherhood which has nothing Christian about it, but which evokes the Masonic ideals of those who want to dominate the world by driving God out of the courts, out of schools, out of families, and perhaps even out of churches.

The American people are mature and have now understood how much the mainstream media does not want to spread the truth but seeks to silence and distort it, spreading the lie that is useful for the purposes of their masters. However, it is important that the good – who are the majority – wake up from their sluggishness and do not accept being deceived by a minority of dishonest people with unavowable purposes. It is necessary that the good, the children of light, come together and make their voices heard. What more effective way is there to do this, Mr. President, than by prayer, asking the Lord to protect you, the United States, and all of humanity from this enormous attack of the Enemy? Before the power of prayer, the deceptions of the children of darkness will collapse, their plots will be revealed, their betrayal will be shown, their frightening power will end in nothing, brought to light and exposed for what it is: an infernal deception.

Mr. President, my prayer is constantly turned to the beloved American nation, where I had the privilege and honor of being sent by Pope Benedict XVI as Apostolic Nuncio. In this dramatic and decisive hour for all of humanity, I am praying for you and also for all those who are at your side in the government of the United States. I trust that the American people are united with me and you in prayer to Almighty God.

United against the Invisible Enemy of all humanity, I bless you and the First Lady, the beloved American nation, and all men and women of good will.

“Social Justice” is more than an ideology, it’s an all-consuming civil religion for the unchurched. To oppose it is to be evil, full stop. Against evil, any weapon or action is automatically sanctified. . . .
