People really are this gullible. They’re talking about Trump at Mt Rushmore and people being close together w/o masks

He’s trying to get America so sick that he can legally call off the Nov. elections. In a nat’l emergency, elections be postponed. I believe Putin is pulling the strings. Look at the new language in the election foreign interference bill. Meanwhile Fox is brainwashing the cult.

Whoever said that apparently never took Con Law.

The date of the federal elections is established in the Constitution. It can’t be changed (short of amending the Constitution).

There’s no provision in law for “calling off” or postponing the elections, “national emergency” or not. It’s never once happened. Not during the Civil War…either World War…the Spanish Flu pandemic…the Great Depression…

    https://www.blogmocracy.com/?q=12345 fools the server.

Also when you get the “Meanwhile in Lansing” old page then wait for it to finish loading then hold down “CTRL” and click on the refresh button on the browser. That tells the browser not to use cache but get a clean copy. That should fix the browser end of things.

I think CW got the server .htaccess file sorted out OK.

The NY Times was not impressed…

Trump Delivers Divisive Culture War Message at Mount Rushmore

Down in the polls and failing to control a raging pandemic, the president cast himself as waging battle against a “new far-left fascism” that imperils American values and seeks to erase history.

Standing in a packed amphitheater in front of Mount Rushmore for an Independence Day celebration, President Trump on Friday delivered a dark and divisive speech that cast his struggling effort to win a second term as a battle against a “new far-left fascism” seeking to wipe out the nation’s values and history.

With the coronavirus pandemic raging and his campaign faltering in the polls, his appearance amounted to a fiery reboot of his re-election effort, using the holiday and an official presidential address to mount a full-on culture war against a straw-man version of the left that he portrayed as inciting mayhem and moving the country toward totalitarianism.

“Our nation is witnessing a merciless campaign to wipe out our history, defame our heroes, erase our values and indoctrinate our children,” Mr. Trump said, addressing a packed crowd of sign-waving supporters, few of whom wore masks. “Angry mobs are trying to tear down statues of our founders, deface our most sacred memorials and unleash a wave of violent crime in our cities.”

Mr. Trump barely mentioned the pandemic, even as the country surpassed 53,000 new cases of the coronavirus and health officials across the country urged Americans to scale back their Fourth of July plans as the pandemic made a frightening resurgence.

Instead, the president leaned into the culture wars that invigorate his base of supporters. Railing against what he described as a dangerous “cancel culture,” Mr. Trump said the left wanted to “unleash a wave of violent crime” in cities across the country. He said they “think the American people are weak and soft and submissive.”

In contrast, he framed himself as the leader who would protect the Second Amendment, law enforcement and the country’s heritage.

Researchers at the Henry Ford Health System in Southeast Michigan have found that early administration of the drug hydroxychloroquine makes hospitalized patients substantially less likely to die.

Dr. Marcus Zervos, who heads the hospital’s infectious diseases unit, said at a news conference. “What we think was important in ours … is that patients were treated early. For hydroxychloroquine to have a benefit, it needs to begin before the patients begin to suffer some of the severe immune reactions that patients can have with COVID.”

A statement from the Trump campaign hailed the study as “fantastic news.”

“Fortunately, the Trump Administration secured a massive supply of hydroxychloroquine for the national stockpile months ago,” a statement read.

Oh no!….Hydroxychloroquine treatment has proved successful and Trump was right all along!
The Democrats and the media will slit their wrists if this saves people and helps the economy recover!!
Either that, or declare the medicine racist and try to burn down the laboratories.

Denmark’s Little Mermaid statue vandalized with ‘racist fish’ grafitti

The famed statue of Hans Christian Andersen’s Little Mermaid, one of Copenhagen’s biggest tourist draws, has been vandalized with the text “racist fish.”

The words were tagged on the stone on which the oft-attacked 1.65-meter (5.4-foot)-high bronze is sitting at the entrance of the Copenhagen harbor.

No one has taken responsibility for the act.

The Second Day of July 1776, will be the most memorable Epocha, in the History of America.—I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated, by succeeding Generations, as the great anniversary Festival. It ought to be commemorated, as the Day of Deliverance by solemn Acts of Devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with Pomp and Parade, with Shews, Games, Sports, Guns, Bells, Bonfires and Illuminations from one End of this Continent to the other from this Time forward forever more.

Alas, it was not to be. But Adams was close.

Adams had been appointed to the Committee of Five to write a document—a declaration—that told the world why the colonies cut ties with Britain. Thomas Jefferson had been working on a draft, which he gave to Adams and Benjamin Franklin for their review. Then he incorporated their changes into the draft, and submitted that draft to Congress. The delegates debated it, took out passages critical of the English people and of slavery, and adopted it—on July 4, the day that, every year, we celebrate our independence.

This is great. Eating food makes you an accomplice to murder.

HUNDREDS OF WORKERS MAY HAVE CONTRACTED COVID-19 TO GET YOU THE FOOD ON YOUR PLATE THIS JULY 4TH.

A BuzzFeed News investigation reveals the extent to which the virus — and the nation’s inadequate response to it — has infected, sickened, and even killed workers up and down the nation’s food supply chains as they work to keep our refrigerators full.

Take a typical summer feast: tangy ribs, a side of creamy pasta salad, and a slice of freshly baked apple pie. If you shop at a Walmart Supercenter, in, say, Massachusetts, the apples you’d buy would have been picked by workers in Washington state’s Yakima Valley, who live in a crowded labor camp with few protections in place. The fruit would then be sorted into boxes in an Allan Bros. packhouse, which for weeks failed to follow federal COVID-19 safety guidelines — even after employees started falling ill.

And the author gets ZERO sympathy.

You typed this on your on your Mac made with slave labor harvested resources and assembled by slaves, sitting in fashion nova sweatshop sewn clothes made by slaves

You posted this on a network designed by the US Department of Defense to communicate in a global nuclear war, now currently reliant on Chinese peasant-made electronics and rare earths extracted from central Africa and Asia; how many people did you kill to hit send?

We all died before the Fourth of July if this is true

Kaepernick denounces 4th of July as ‘celebration of white supremacy’

Happy Fourth of July? Not for free agent NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick.

In a Twitter message Saturday, the former San Francisco 49ers player denounced the nation’s 244th birthday as a “celebration of white supremacy.”

Along with a video showing images of the Ku Klux Klan, police brutality, slavery and lynchings, Kaepernick wrote: “Black ppl have been dehumanized, brutalized, criminalized + terrorized by America for centuries, & are expected to join your commemoration of ‘independence’, while you enslaved our ancestors. We reject your celebration of white supremacy & look forward to liberation for all.”

The video’s disturbing images were over a backdrop of fireworks and actor James Earl Jones reading 19th-century abolitionist Frederick Douglass’ 1852 speech, “What to the Slave is the Fourth of July?”

All this outrage, and anger and distraction from the left makes me wonder if things would’ve been any different if the freed slaves are all been sent back to Africa in the 1800s, and anyone who came here would have come voluntarily.

A genetically engineered racoon who flies spaceships? Sure.

Stone Mountain near Stone Mountain, Georgia, is a quartz monzonite dome monadnock and the site of Stone Mountain Park owned by the state but managed by Norcross-based Herschend Family Entertainment. At its summit, the elevation is 1,686 feet (514 m) above sea level and 825 feet (251 m) above the surrounding area. Stone Mountain is well known for not only its geology, but also the enormous rock relief on its north face, the largest bas-relief in the world.[1] The carving depicts three Confederate figures, Jefferson Davis, Robert E. Lee, and Stonewall Jackson, and is the subject of widespread controversy as well as being a representation of southern white cultural pride and an artistic monument.[2][3]

Stone Mountain was once owned by the Venable Brothers,[4] “as a memorial to the Confederacy.”[5] Stone Mountain Park officially opened on April 14, 1965 – 100 years to the day after Lincoln’s assassination,[6] although the park had already been in use for a few years.[7] By 2017, it was considered the most visited destination in the state of Georgia.

Armed protesters march through Georgia’s Stone Mountain Park

A large group of armed protesters on Saturday marched through Georgia’s Stone Mountain Park, calling for the park’s massive Confederate carving to be removed.

The predominantly Black demonstrators spoke out against the huge sculpture depicting Gen. Robert E. Lee, Confederate President Jefferson Davis and Gen. Thomas J. “Stonewall” Jackson, WXIA-TV reported. Carved into a granite mountain, the bas-relief sculpture is the largest Confederate monument ever crafted.

Stone Mountain Memorial Association spokesman John Bankhead said there were between 100 and 200 protesters. He said the protesters, many of whom carried large rifles, were peaceful.

Although the park has historically been a gathering spot for white supremacists, the city of Stone Mountain nowadays has a majority-Black population.

The park usually holds a Fourth of July laser show and fireworks display with the carving as a backdrop, but this year’s presentation was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Armed Black Demonstrators Challenge White Supremacist Militia in Georgia’s Stone Mountain Park

About 1,000 heavily armed militia, all of whom were Black, marched through Georgia’s Stone Mountain Park on Independence Day, challenging white nationalist groups in the area to either come out and fight or join them in demonstrating against the government.

Stone Mountain State Park officials said the Black militia group was peaceful, orderly and escorted by police Saturday as they called for the removal of the country’s largest Confederate monument near Atlanta. Videos posted to social media show the group, the “Not F**king Around Coalition” (NFAC), meeting at the massive nine-story quartz sculpting that depicts Confederate president Jefferson Davis and Southern generals Robert E. Lee and Stonewall Jackson.

NFAC Founder Grand Master Jay told Newsweek via phone Sunday that the militia members at Stone Mountain on Saturday were “100 percent black” and they are not affiliated with Black Lives Matter. “We are a black militia. We aren’t protesters, we aren’t demonstrators. We don’t come to sing, we don’t come to chant. That’s not what we do,” he said.

The NFAC head explained why several videos show the militia members alongside demonstrators earlier in the day before heading to Stone Mountain. Grand Master Jay told Newsweek the sister of Rashard Brooks, who was killed outside an Atlanta Wendy’s by police last month, requested the NFAC militia provide her with a security escort to a downtown rally which began at the site of her brother’s death.

“Our initial goal was to have a formation of our militia in Stone Mountain to send a message that as long as you’re abolishing all these statues across the country, what about this one?” Grand Master Jay said, referencing the massive Confederate carving.

He added that he must commend Stone Mountain police for offering the all-black militia support as they exercised their constitutional rights on July 4th.

“It was all black … there were no brown people, no white people… everyone was black. I am not a protester, I am the commanding general of my militia, we were swearing in new members,” he added, highlighting there was a second militia “show of force” Saturday near Phoenix.

The video shows that was a lie. THere were several whites in their group. Also they are one of the only black supremacist groups that allows white members.

She has been trying to make amends ever since. She commended Trump on his handling of the Pandemic. So she criticized Trump for his divisive speech on the 4th.
She was out of sorts because he verbally attacke ” mostly peaceful” protestors.
