This is interesting. Looks like Navin Gruesome mandated that all California State employeees take a 10% pay cut during the shut down but didn’t apply that to himself. When his hypocrisy was exposed, he said he too would take a pay cut. Screw that. Pay back that extra 10% from March 19th.

but he never did, did he? I hear he’s trying for a distraction by just noticing the gas prices and insisting the oil companies be investigated.

    nice try.

    @ eaglesoars:

They want to nationalize the entire energy sector almost as bad as they want socialized medicine, and they view it as attainable within this generation. I think.

Like he doesn’t know EXACTLY why gas prices are high in CA.

    @ The Barbarian:
There seem to be a lot of governors who accuse Trump of acting like a totalitarian monarch. It looks like they all do that to hide their own totalitarian actions. Maybe it’s time to bring back the guillotine if these govs are also ballot harvesting.

  10. 10 | August 21, 2020 4:17 pm

    @ eaglesoars:

He’s done that before. Gets all enraged about the gas prices and vows to hold the oil companies responsible.

Except it ISN’T the oil companies. Right over the border in Nevada gas is easily more than a dollar a gallon cheaper. It’s been pointed out to this genius that our prices are high due to (1) increasing STATE gas taxes and (2) the fact that refineries have to go offline on a rotating and continual basis to make up the winter and summer gas formulations mandated by that “green legislation” they rammed down our throats.

Also, because of California’s craptastic legislation, gasoline cannot be brought INTO California from neighboring states (if a company has a surplus) because it was not formulated to California standards.

Does anyone remember that Kamala Harris was the candidate that the DNC REALLY wanted as their nominee back when all this started? I seem to. They did everything they could, using their lapdogs in the press, to put her over. It was the voters that hated her.

Press the fact that this woman will be President before the year is out if Joe Biden is elected. The DNC will be getting the President THEY wanted.

speaking of Strzok, he just tweeted this bullshit

Beyond bounties on the heads of American soldiers, the GRU allegedly recruited a US Army veteran to spy for them for almost 15 years — a spy the Russians used to target other US servicemen. What will it take for this administration to stand up to Russia?

    https://twitter.com/petestrzok/status/1296929135193980935

This is what he’s talking about

A Gainesville, Virginia, man was arrested today for conspiring with Russian intelligence operatives to provide them with United States national defense information.

According to court documents, from December 1996 to January 2011, Peter Rafael Dzibinski Debbins, 45, a former member of the U.S. Army, allegedly conspired with agents of a Russian intelligence service. During that time, Debbins periodically visited Russia and met with Russian intelligence agents. In 1997, Debbins was assigned a code name by Russian intelligence agents and signed a statement attesting that he wanted to serve Russia.

    https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/former-army-special-forces-officer-charged-russian-espionage-conspiracy

The guy stopped spying in 2011. Maybe if the FBI had been doing it’s job instead of engaging in sedition……….

So, my camping trip is postponed due to technical difficulties.

I had the trailer all hooked up to tow except for the electrical cable. When i plugged it in, I heard a sizzle sound. I pulled the connector back out, and one pin on the cable (and the corresponding one on the SUV plug) was halfway melted.

It’s a factory-installed connector, so it probably wasn’t wired wrong. All the wiring is like what you see inside a PC. You literally can’t connect things wrong, because they’ll only go one way.

And it worked fine a couple of weeks ago.

I’m assuming something came loose, or the insulation is worn, or something of that nature.

    true.

Something interesting happened on Brett Baier’s show this evening when they were doing the segment on the week’s ‘winners and losers’.

Steven Hayes (hates Trump) said the winner was QAnon. WHAT??!! Apparently Trump endorsed a candidate somewhere who is – rightly or wrongly, I have no idea – is understood by the media to be a ‘follower’.

So I’m dipping into the cynic part of my psyche and wondering – what’s the deal here? I think QAnon is a cult (“Trust the Plan” – bite me). But it’s a backhanded way to paint Trump supporters – and Trump – as conspiracy theorists, isn’t it. There’s no Deep State, etc…….

At the peak population, most mice spent every living second in the company of hundreds of other mice. They gathered in the main squares, waiting to be fed and occasionally attacking each other. Few females carried pregnancies to term, and the ones that did seemed to simply forget about their babies. They’d move half their litter away from danger and forget the rest. Sometimes they’d drop and abandon a baby while they were carrying it.

The few secluded spaces housed a population Calhoun called, “the beautiful ones.” Generally guarded by one male, the females—and few males—inside the space didn’t breed or fight or do anything but eat and groom and sleep. When the population started declining the beautiful ones were spared from violence and death, but had completely lost touch with social behaviors, including having sex or caring for their young.

Tennessee mom says parents asked to sign ‘ridiculous’ waiver they will not eavesdrop on kids’ online lessons

‘What are they trying to hide? What is the problem? Why won’t they let us sit in?’ a mom tells ‘Fox & Friends Weekend’

A Tennessee school district is under fire for asking parents to sign a form agreeing not to eavesdrop on kids’ virtual classes over concerns they could overhear confidential information.

After significant pushback, Rutherford County Schools is allowing parents to tune in with permission from the teacher but they can’t record the classes.

“It’s ridiculous. It’s so hypocritical because they’ve been data mining our children for years, compliments of common core,” Laurie Cardoza-Moore, founder of Proclaiming Justice to the Nations, said on “Fox & Friends Weekend” Saturday.

“What are they trying to hide? What is the problem? Why won’t they let us sit in?” the homeschool mom of five asked.

“Obviously, because they are teaching our children propaganda that they should not be teaching,” she said. “They are trying to socialize our children.”

She added: “We have had a major problem in education, not just here in Tennessee, but across the country where they are indoctrinating our children with propaganda.”

Cardoza-Moore questioned why the school would encourage parents to snitch on one another and what would happen if a parent violates the waiver.

“Does that mean somebody from the school district is going to knock on my door and pull my kid out of my home, his virtual classroom?” she asked. “Or is it going to be my tax dollars that fund my child’s public education, my child won’t get to participate in education because of it?”

    @ right_wing2:

In order to do that on a national level, it would require a Constitutional Amendment. It’s largely up to the individual states to decide who gets to vote, with three exceptions. The 15th Amendment says that people can’t be barred from voting on the basis of race; the 19th says the same with regard to sex; and the 26th is based on age(18).

Many people repeat the claim that the Constitution as originally written only gave the vote to “white male property owners,” but that’s simply not true. It’s actually silent on the issue. The restrictions were established by the individual states.

Interesting problem. My gut instinct is the problem is in the trailer.

Also the fact that the ground pin was fried may be a red herring. Depending on the type of connector used the ground is normally a larger connection because it provides a return path for all the other powered pins. Brake lights, turn signals, ABS brakes etc.

If the ground connector had a bad crimp, i.e a higher resistance between the wire and the connector then that would overheat first. NOT the other connection that was supplying the current to what ever circuit that was shorted within the trailer.

Interested what 40 amp fuse blew and where. 40A sounds scary and at low voltage it is, it can set fire to wires really fast. But 40A at 12V is about 480 watts which is half the power a regular hair dryer uses on the low setting.

If it was a 40A fuse in the truck that blew that supplies 12V AUX to the trailer then I would look at what uses 12V AUX in trailer.

Maybe as you had done the hookup before successfully something never used before in the trailer was turned on, thus creating a short.

Anyway as AZfederalist said I would check for shorts between ground and the other pins on the trailer connector.

AND knowing absolutely NOTHING about trailers/campers and thingies and not knowing where 12V AUX goes or does I, even with my totally ignorant knowledge, would be wary of being fooled.

Example, AC. Previous connections was AC set to start if installed? Maybe this time thermostat said “Turn on AC” and in fact AC is at fault.

    I wish I lived closer.. 🙂

That 40A fuse is the main 12v aux power to the connector.

As for the trailer, nothing was turned on. There really aren’t any high-current 12v systems in the trailer, anyway. Maybe the heater fan, but that certainly wasn’t on. It was about 100 degrees. The A/C and microwave are 110v only (and neither was on).

The way it’s wired is that all the 12v systems run off the trailer batteries. There’s a 1000 watt inverter that provides power to the outlets, but nothing was plugged into any of them. When the trailer is connected to external 110 power, it bypasses the inverter. The A/C and microwave are not connected to the inverter circuit at all, and only operate with external power.

The cable to the SUV does supply 12v power to the trailer, but it should only be charging the batteries. It shouldn’t be powering anything directly. And the batteries were fully charged, anyway, because the trailer had been hooked up to external power until a few minutes earlier.

I replaced the fuse, and removed the socket from the SUV. None of the wiring appears damaged, and I checked everything with a multimeter. The only damage seems to be that one pin on the socket.

Former NYT reporter blasts Melania Trump’s White House Rose Garden redo: I’m ‘furious’ she is ‘a foreigner’

Former New York Times reporter Kurt Eichenwald slammed first lady Melania Trump for renovating the White House Rose Garden saying on Saturday that he is “furious” she is “a foreigner,” sparking pushback from other journalists.

“It is a destruction of our history, something no other First Lady would have had the gall to do,” Eichenwald, a New York Times bestselling author, tweeted on Saturday, “This is the first time I have been furious that @FLOTUS is a foreigner. She has no right to wreck our history.”

Eichenwald made the comments reacting from a tweet from the first lady on Saturday, which featured photos of the renovations.

“Excited to honor history & celebrate the future in our beautiful @WhiteHouse Rose Garden this evening,” Trump tweeted. “Thank you to all who helped renew this iconic & truly gorgeous space.”

Melania Trump, who grew up in Slovenia and became a U.S. citizen in 2006, posted the tweet on the same day the work on the garden, which took three weeks to complete, was showcased to reporters.

Melania Trump has been overseeing a redesign of the Rose Garden to restore it to its original 1962 blueprint dating back to the Kennedy administration.

“The very act of planting a garden involves hard work and hope in the possibility of a bright future,” she said in a statement last month. “Preserving the history and beauty of the White House and its grounds is a testament to our nation’s commitment to the care of this landscape and our dedication to American ideals, safeguarding them for our children and their children for generations to come.”

Eichenwald, who spent two decades as a senior writer at The New York Times, also tweeted on Saturday, “I still find it unbelievable that @FLOTUS who has only been a citizen since the middle of GW Bush’s second term had the audacity to wreck the Rose Garden, to pull up history dating back a lifetime.”

“These trashy, evil, stupid people need to get out of our house,” he continued. “What GALL she has.”

You think women are jealous? How much of the animus toward Trump do you think is because a lot of these men know for a fact that Melania wouldn’t even SEE them let alone give them the time of day. Eichenwald is a loser in every metric you care to choose and he knows it.

It took me awhile to figure out where all this “He’s too crass” crap was coming from after JFK and Nixon.

Then it hit me. It’s not Trump. It’s Melania. Trump has Melania and more than anything else, that makes them feel like hopeless losers.

It’s the only time in their entire loser lives they’ve been right.

Oh look at Melania’s renovated rose garden at the White House. Does anyone else see how the small bushes spell KKK in rows?

    @ eaglesoars:

sorry, the 2nd one should read

The #Trump family did its best to turn the lovely Rose Garden into a neo-fascist parade ground.

Howard Fineman no less, another limp dick wonder

As far as I can tell, this is true.

Haha, the owner of Atilis Gym in NJ just registered his facility as a Republican headquarters. It’s now a peaceful protest to workout.

What is the deal with people? When Michelle Obama made her vegetable garden at the white house. I thought fine. I didn’t get my cucumbers in a twist about changes they made at the white house.

I seem to think that it is each president prerogative. To keep what traditions they like. And to add new culture.

Michelle Obama wouldn’t know a zucchini from a zamboni. The destruction she wreaked on the school lunch program is going to take years to undo, not least because of the harm she did to the reputation of whole milk. And meat. Hubby is STILL trying to undo this as are many others.

    It was, up until Trump

Kellyanne Conway is leaving the WH

In the event you are unaware, she has a nightmare 15 year old daughter, Claudia, who has been on social media accusing her of abuse and had just said she is pursuing ’emancipation’.

Social media needs to be delayed for young girls. If the parents drink a lot then they probably aren’t emotionally available.

I was a young girl long before social media. It’s no different. I do recall a few years ago that facebook was being blamed for suicides.

The need for peer approval during that time of life – to be ‘popular’ – can be crushing. It’s warping. I know how I handled it and I know how utterly unprepared parents can be in understanding it.

You think ‘social media’ is a new thing? It isn’t. It was just a different media. Magazines. Seventeen. Cosmopolitan. Vogue. And it didn’t stop when you became an adult, married with children. It still hasn’t. You should see the crap I get in my email. “How to teach your children to talk about race” or “What Happens When Dad Becomes Donna”.

(All this because I bought our daughter in law baby stuff.)

    I don’t have children, altho I was acting-mom-in-chief for a few years.

Don’t lie to the kid. Chores. Homework. No. LET’S GO SHOPPING!! And last but not least – I have your back.

Other than that, the Conway family is their own family and no one else’s. All the best.

they havent read their history. the guillotine, once brought out for use, is an insatiable device that eventually gets turned on its original users.
