BOC) is an American rock band formed in Stony Brook, New York, in 1967, best known for the singles “(Don’t Fear) The Reaper”, “Burnin’ for You”, “Cities on Flame with Rock and Roll”, and “Godzilla.”

I saw BOC in the mid/late 70s, they were excellent !
    Useless info:
Apparently the bass player is Howard Sterns cousin.

You wouldn’t believe the dogs here. I didn’t realize but dogs are allowed in all the stores. Except restaurants unless it’s outside patio, etc. I’m tripping over dogs.

    Now THAT is already real.

Currently the UV ( 192nM Argon Fluoride LASERS) are only bench top however 192nM deep UV LASER Diodes are just coming onto the market. Now you can’t “set for stun” from a hand held phaser quite yet but it’s no more than a year away tops.

It looks like Star Wars Chewbacker’s (cross-bow type weapon). Sends out twin 192nano metre beams that ionise Oxygen in the air and complete a circuit between the stunner and the target. Then a Tetanisation high frequency current is sent down the laser beams and flow through the target’s body up to 100 metres away. They spontaneously ‘freeze’ and fall to the ground as their muscles turn rigid. Often they also shit themselves, as a nice to have by product. The deep UV frequency of 192 nM is chosen because the eye’s cornea is not transparent to this light so no eye damage is possible.

Now go play and be nice!

Dictator Dan Andrews the Victorian State Premier caught lying under oath and is wading into the shit as his confidants begin to fall around him. His Health Minister ran up the white flag and resigned and the Chief of the Premier’s Department a 35 year Civil Servant just decided when his phone records were being released that he’d had enough as well. 800+ pensioners died because Andrews hired corrupt union members to enforce security in quarantine high-rise buildings, rather than allowing the army in or even the corrupt Victoria Police.

Nobody in the Andrews administration ‘remembers anything and all are duck shoving responsibility as fast as they can. Andrews looks increasingly like a dictator who is isolated and the ‘villagers with burning brands are gathering to ‘pay him a visit’.

Meanwhile the Liberal Premier of New South Wales past is coming back to haunt her. Her former live in boyfriend, MP for Wagga Wagga who was busted for dirty dealing in China, laundering money in Chinese banks , and taking payoffs, got the boot, but it seems that his amore knew all about the corruption and covered it up.
That’s two corrupt Premiers and the week is still young. Now to ‘get’ the merciless Labour Party Premier of Queensland. The woman with the blood of innocent children on her grubby hands and the constitutional criminal currently another Labour Premier running Western Australia !

The last time Australia was subject to this much corruption and criminal behaviour was in 1798 when the ‘Rum Corps’ were running Olde Sydney Towne.

The Karen next to me said “Watch. Trump supporter in a red hat”

Obese black woman in pink spandex with blue hair down to her waist. 3 inch nails that were beginning to curl under. Back to the gate to throw her fat ass off the plane and her fat girlfriend too. She had purple hair.

Here, we just have investigations that go on for years, cost millions and then they decide not to prosecute because the jury pool is corrupt and they could never get a conviction.

good morning. Sure. Karen on the plane.

About 23 yrs old, VERY pretty. And she knew it. Before our maskless wonder got booted from the plane, I had dozed off. Apparently, when I yawned, my mask got pulled slightly under my nose. I didn’t notice because I was basically unconscious. BUT. The sweet thing kindly woke me up. Poke poke poke on my shoulder. “M’aam, would you please cover your nose?”

Uh huh. Back to my doze.

I woke up when we pulled away from the gate. She’s using hand sanitizer for about the 3rd time. I almost asked her for the brand because the fragrance was lovely, but that would have given her a satisfaction I wasn’t in the mood for. She, like most everyone else on the plane, was doing something on/with her phone. I was reading a kindle book.

When our two miscreants walked down the aisle I asked her where the man in the Trump hat was – and it was an honest question, I thought she’d actually observed something. She totally ignored me. I thought perhaps she hadn’t heard because she had a blue tooth ear piece in, so I asked again. THAT’S who is getting thrown off? Again, ignored me. I suspect in her world, it didn’t happen, or was of no value, because it didn’t conform to her pre-conceived ideas.

When I stood up in the aisle to deplane I looked at all the people behind me, still seated or just getting up. There WAS no guy in a Trump hat. She fantasized the entire thing.

Knoxville: By the 1780s, white settlers were already established in the Holston and French Broad valleys. The U.S. Congress ordered all illegal settlers out of the valley in 1785, but with little success. As settlers continued to trickle into Cherokee lands, tensions between the settlers and the Cherokee rose steadily.

Blount named the new capital Knoxville after Revolutionary War general and Secretary of War Henry Knox, who at the time was Blount’s immediate superior.

I looked into the economics. As far as I can tell, it all flowed originally from Oak Ridge research labs downstream to what is now a fairly strong intellectual/healthcare nexus. And maybe Tennessee Valley Authority.

Henry Knox. He directed rebel cannon fire at the Battle of Bunker Hill. He became the artillery man for George Washington.

It looks like an interesting area. Is Orange the football color? When I first started looking for work a lot of the job postings I came across were from the TVA. I drove this part of the country two years ago. I was impressed by the historical battlefields. The food was a lot better than the coastal fast food I was used to.

A lot of cicadas on a humid night.

They live and breathe Vols football and rain told me in no uncertain terms that I’d better learn to love the color orange. And yes, it it pure orange. They’re as bad as Ohio State people. I had to meet our real estate agent and she told me flat out that the game started at 3:30 and we had to work around that.

    ok, then.

Yes, almost as many Civil WAr battlefields as Virginia, which is good for Hubby as he is a devotee. We were married at Antietam. The climate is almost identical to where we are now. If you look at accuweather for Alexandria VA and then at Knoxville, it’s the same, maybe off by a day, no more. And the Smokey Mountains are beautiful.

My mail in ballot does a signature check. I can’t even verify my signature. It can change depending on the time of day and how relaxed I am. I’ve had an election office reject my signature before. I probably need to simplify it into a symbol like Prince did.

    Great read!

At a formative time in my life, Edward Van Halen went out of his way to befriend me, show me guitar techniques, invite me and my dad to his home, show me his recording studio, chat with me about life, and even give me one of his famous striped red guitars.

I was a seventeen year old nobody. He was the world’s biggest rock star. It was spring 1986.

    @ eaglesoars:

Did you hear about David Crosby’s Tweet about Eddie Van Halen?

Folk Icon David Crosby Stirs Backlash Over Eddie Van Halen Tweet

Folk icon David Crosby, most famously of the group Crosby, Stills and Nash as well as The Byrds, has come under scrutiny for a tweet in which he was asked for his thoughts on Eddie Van Halen following the guitar legend’s passing on Oct. 6, to which he replied with a dismissive, “Meh.”

Crosby’s reply led to a back and forth that has left upset fans on Twitter as well as unhappy rock and metal musicians. Most of the exchanges came over the weekend and began on Oct. 10. The 79-year old has since retweeted several messages from other Twitter users who have come to his defensive over what many view as an insensitive remark.

Testament’s Alex Skolnick posited an alternative way Crosby could have handled the situation, suggesting he instead should have said, “I know he meant a lot to so many but his sound and style just weren’t my thing.” He also shared a screenshot of a post from punk icon Patti Smith, commending her for her words while surmising she wasn’t a big Van Halen fan herself.

L.A. Guns guitarist Tracii Guns was a bit more boisterous than Skolnick, slamming the folk rocker when stating, “Fuck this guy. Fuck this answer and most of all fuck this guy. I don’t give a shit what anyone says. That’s bullshit David.”

The ever-opinionated Dee Snider retweeted Guns’ message, and took his shot when adding, “Agreed. That said, I’ve always hated [David Crosby] AND his mustache.”

Although the original “Meh” tweet from Crosby remains, it does appear that he understands there was a more mindful way he could have got his point across that the groundbreaking guitarist wasn’t someone he felt particularly moved by. Crosby retweeted one message, which suggested he alternatively could have said, “I don’t care for the end product, it’s just not my style. But there’s no question at all about his talent and the revolution he brought to the whole industry.”

no, I wasn’t aware of any of it. But he could have the dropped first part, too, and just left it as “there’s no question at all about his talent and the revolution he brought to the whole industry.”

    Petty, thoughtless and probably, envious.

That mindset. Insane. There are no Nazis in the street. Unless its him.

    @ Possum:
Enough of this fear BS. Get on your feet and start slugging. Use fear to focus action and destroy that fear. By acting you rob fear of its debilitating induceding, weakness. When you are seriously afraid turn that around so that your senses become acute and your actions decisive and empowering. Use the masses of adrenaline coursing through body to act decisively and powerfully.

You can get the shakes after all of the action has passed and when you can relax.

You know nothing possum until that fearsome something actually happens. Then is the time to strike back hard. Worrying about things that may never happen just wastes energy and weakens your resolve.
