If (God forbid) Harris wins, I’m going to make some predictions and mail them to myself. Higher taxes, even for people making under 400k, federal control over local zoning laws, longer wait times for a doctor, banning of ‘large’ magazines etc. It’ll be scary if I’m right.

And you’ll be forced into pronoun usage. Cities will have violent purge days supported by property taxes. Major tilt towards an Orwellian future. You won’t have the freedom to be truthful or honest.

You would have to register with the Harris – Committee Ushering New Truth – as wanting to use a pronoun that reflecting the gender choice handicapped by an ability to only use traditional pronouns. Comes with a sandwich board and wristband so people don’t mistake the designation.

People suggest that Elections in Washington State are fraud free mail in elections. But that has never been tested. Dino Rossi lost there on “found” ballots. At the third recount. He was the polite GOP person who depended on the system to validate him correctly. When his opponent played by unfair rules he accepted it in order to maintain the election integrity and avoid the huge litigation cost.

I love pointing out to my liberal friends that Biden is indeed going to raise taxes on everyone. He hasn’t said “repeal PARTS of the Trump tax bill” – he says “repeal the tax bill.” So the tax cut that they refuse to believe they got will go away and more importantly, that increase in the personal deduction to $12,000 will also vanish.

But one thing I love pointing out to them is Biden is going to give a BIG tax break to his wealthy donors and friends. Remember that the Trump tax bill put a cap on the amount of STATE tax you could deduct at $15,000. Now all those blue state rich liberals would be able to continue deducting the full measure of the high taxes imposed on them. It is not something that would matter to the average guy.

    @ eaglesoars:
I’d never heard this. It’s part of a large amount of conspiracy theory about Roberts.

If it was just a technical violation of Irish law, where an Irish woman was paid to give birth in Brazil so as to make adoption easier, I doubt anyone would care.

If the children were the product of a sex-slave operation, and it could be plausibly accused that Roberts knew, then he’s finished — he would be a pariah, and subject to criminal prosecution.

Even worse, would be if the children were a product of Roberts having sex with a sex-slave in Brazil

I’d guess he found a mom in Ireland and flew her to Brazil to have the baby. Avoiding Irish laws.

the left is willing to win incremental battles, the old right always went for the walk off home run.

    but now…things are changing

  35. 41 | October 20, 2020 3:21 pm

    @ coldwarrior:

Rush pointed out that when the left wins, it’s always “we’re in power, live with it, too bad.” But when the right wins, the left immediately jumps in with “you should share your power with us – it’s for the public good.” And the left immediately falls for that “reach across the aisle” every time. One of the reasons I loved Newt’s first couple of years as Speaker is that he not only passed the Republican agenda, he told the Democrats to friggin’ LIVE with it and got Bill Clinton to understand that he needed to approve it as well. He also wasn’t afraid to shut down the damn government rather than acquiesce. Paul Ryan, on the other hand, was a big, big disappointment. He should never have been given that job.

Come to think of it, when Boehner left, why was RYAN picked as the successor?

Too many on the right don’t see the left’s game either. They might not ban all guns tomorrow, or ban them outright, but they’ll limit magazine size, require liability insurance, tax the hell out of ammo and make it a crime to defend yourself or your family and property.

The other thing that turned me off (and I did listen to his show because, as you pointed out, he made a lot of good points) was his support of Jerry Brown.

I actually looked forward to his show when it debuted on MSNBC, because it was a call-in show, and I was looking forward to hearing him smack down the liberals I knew would be calling in. I recall correctly, he called one of the callers a Sodomite and that was the end of that. In truth, I seem to remember it also happening to Rush Limbaugh when he tried to do a TV show. They stocked the audience with liberals who shouted him down and Rush ended up finishing the show with no studio audience.

I believe his wife’s name is “Chan” – hmmm…..she’s sponsoring some pretty awful propositions on the California ballot. They want to raise property taxes on commercial property – you know “business pays its fair share of taxes”. Uh, EVERYBODY pays the same property tax. What’s fairer than that. But of course, they’re saying “the money will pay for schools and firefighters.”

It’s a dry run – the next step will be a proposition repealing Prop 13 on the next ballot, using the same strategy.

Yep – Proposition 16, which effectively repeals Proposition 209, which banned the government and public institutions (like schools) from discriminating or giving preferential treatment based on sex, race, ethnicity or nationality.

Another Prop that is interesting is Prop 22 – which repeals that disastrous AB5 forcing app drivers to become EMPLOYEES and which has had the effect of Uber, Lyft and DoorDash, among others, saying they’ll need to cease doing business in California. The Yes ads feature drivers, Mothers Against Drunk Drivers, etc., saying they want to continue as independent contracts, but the companies will be offering new benefits if they want them (health care).

The No ads feature Unions (who AB5 was passed to protect – the cab and limo drivers) and Gloria Allwet, who claims that Prop 22 will allow rampant sexual harassment.

Allwet does not have the popularity that the DNC and the MSM believes she has. She’s like that attorney who shows up at all the BLM incidents to represent the families of the criminal that was involved. Allwet shows up with her bevy of victims whenever a Republican is involved; surprisingly such tearful women speak of their outrage, threaten suit and never surface again.

He equally loathsome daughter, Lisa Bloom, was one of the attorneys for that perjurous fraud that filed the civil complaint of rape in 2016. Which would have been interesting had she ever actually SERVED the complaint on either Trump or Epstein. Which she didn’t.

First of all, he looks like he hasn’t showered or shaved in a month. Second, I think he was the one doing a lot of the leaking in the early days of Trump’s Presidency. @ eaglesoars:

Yowza! This must be why the NYT is going hog wild over the fact that President Trump had (has?) a bank account in CHINA and paid taxes in CHINA – something like $1.8 million.

Uh, correct me if I’m wrong, but didn’t Trump at one time have manufacturing done in China? For his clothing line? I would assume two things from this – 1) that he had an account with a Chinese bank in order to facilitate the payment to vendors who supplied him. Secondly, it would allow easy access to funds for any business trips that would be taken for this purpose; 2) I’m going to assume that EVERYONE who does business in China pays taxes in China. Let’s ask Apple or Samsung how much THEY pay in taxes to China. And if they have Chinese bank accounts.

More on the Giuliani “sex tape”

This from someone at Mother Jones of all people:

“I have now seen the scene with Rudy Giuliani and though it is creepy for other reasons it is being described on twitter in a false way. He does not have his hand down his pants in a sexual way. He is tucking his shirt back in after she untucks it removing his mic.”

    Now that makes sense.

BTW, I’ve been giving it some thought. I mean, who just LEAVES a laptop at a repair shop? Sure Hunter can afford to buy a brand new one – usually when mine finally gives up the ghost, I’m off to Best Buy. But why take it to a repair shop and just leave it there? I’m wondering if Hunter thought abandoning it would also basically “get rid” of any incriminating stuff on it – that the repair shop guy would just repair it, leave it on the shelf and there it would stay. Didn’t he bring it in when the hullabaloo over Biden’s quid pro quo was going on. If Hunter was worried about subpoenas for his devices, what better way to “hide” his laptop than take it to a repair shop, leave it there, claim he lost it if anyone asks and then when the kerfuffle dies down, just stroll in, apologize for the delay, and pick it up.
